deniseohern (10/5): A great stay with great staff. - We booked Hotel 81 Palace, Singapore for 5 nights for a quick break for the Singapore Air Show. Reviews were all good and the hotel did not disappoint. Hotel and rooms recently renovated and whilst the rooms were not huge they certainly were not the smallest we have stayed in. They were spotlessly clean and neat as was the entire property and well equipped with spotless bathroom and great towels and bed linen. Our room had coffee/ tea making facility with filtered water tap and an absolute bonus of a mini refrigerator ! Beds were comfortable. Short walk to MRT and even shorter walk to a multitude of eating places. Fantastic friendly staff. A great 5 night stay. Highly recommended and we will stay again. A great property for a great price.

fscholar (8/5): Good Value for a Short Stopover - We stayed for one night and arrived very late, only to realize that the hotel is located in the middle of a red-light district. That said, the hotel itself was perfectly fine. The room was not large, but comfortable enough for a short stay. It was a bit dim and had no window, which may not suit everyone. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the MRT station, but conveniently located near several bus stops. Overall, for a brief stay, the hotel is a practical and reasonable choice in Singapore.

LouRoberge (10/5): Great Staff - The hotel was great for a short stay. The location was decent, lots of restaurants nearby and the metro was a 10-15 minute walk. The employees at the desk (Koriv & Jasmond) were excellent. In fact every employee at the desk treated us very well. We took a short tour for about 10 days and the hotel held one our bags for us until we returned. That is service. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is well located, with easy access to public transport, local food spots, and many parts of the city. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we expected for a short stay. What really stood out was the staff. Mira Jasmund and Celuin were especially kind, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. They made check-in smooth, answered all our questions, and always greeted us with a friendly attitude, which made us feel very welcome. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money, and thanks to the excellent service from the staff, we truly enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend Hotel 81 Palace to travelers looking for a comfortable and budget-friendly option in Singapore.

The hotel and staff were great and I'm sure the exterior is just their way of life but if I went back, I might spring for a higher cost location. We needed cash for our taxi and the vendor down the street said it we buy $5 worth of food on card, he'll give us cash. We bought food and he said he doesn't do cash. So again, the hotel was perfectly fine. The area however, just uneasy feelings.

misiv_72 (8/5): Decent, but terrible soundproofing - The soundproofing is really bad at this hotel. You can hear random thuds and bangs during the night and it can easily disrupt your sleep. Not to mention guests that slam the doors or talk loudly on the hallway. However, if this is not a problem for you, it’s actually a very decent hotel. The room was clean and offered comfortable beds. The location is kinda sketchy, but well linked to public transport and not that far away from the centre.
Craig (8/5): - If you just need a place to sleep and are out all day, this is a good place. Just make sure you realise that there are brothels around so not appropriate for families. Staff were always pleasant and towels were changed daily. The hallways were very noisy all night with guests and other people visiting.

214thuv (10/5): Amazing place. - I enjoyed the help from the front desk and they've very friendly and helpful in many positive directions for me because this is my first trip in Singapore. If anyone would like i suggest find this hotel location. It is a friendly place. MRS Yilin and Mrs Ainee are very friendly and they are speaking multiple languages. Their level is like American when I travel around the states.

The room was quite small, but it was clean, tidy, and had everything I needed — definitely good value for the price considering Singapore’s hotel rates. The bed was comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was clean with basic amenities provided. What really made the stay pleasant was the exceptional service from the staff. I want to give a special mention to Jay, Kaylee, and Yilin, who were incredibly helpful, polite, and friendly throughout my stay. They were always ready to assist with directions, local tips, and any requests I had — their warm and professional attitude made a big difference and added a personal touch to the experience. The hotel is located in Geylang, which is well-connected by public transport and has plenty of food options nearby. It's not a luxury hotel, but if you’re looking for a clean, affordable place with great staff, Hotel 81 Palace is a solid choice. I’d definitely consider staying here again for short trips or layovers.

Bad start for a 4 months trip to Southeast Asia. The Singapore Police tried to help but in vain. Jay put a lot of effort to help me, calling different people at the airport. And alas, the passport and wallet (including all money) had been found and was returned to me. Thousand thanks to Jay!

I wouldn't go back there again.

AussieHolidays (8/5): Good stop over option. - Arrived late at Changi and left early the following morning for a connecting flight. I was looking for a hotel for a shower and a rest, in air conditioned comfort. This Hotel delivers all of this with no frills and at a very cheap price. The room was, unsurprisingly, small but very clean. The only negative comments are that the bed was ultra firm and that the shower has no screen so you wet the whole bathroom. This hotel is a great option for a short, low cost stay if you’re just looking for a place to rest your head.

However, I found the area to be very pleasant once I got passed that. The food in the area is about 1/10th of the price of restaurants downtown and the quality is fantastic. The people are extremely friendly and courteous. As a white American I stood out like a sore thumb and felt very safe and welcomed. The train to get downtown is still a short walk away and very easy to access and not difficult to understand if you put in the slightest effort. I personally preferred my experience in the geylang and kallang neighborhoods over the tourist areas. This is true Singapore without the corporate money-leeching that the tourist traps downtown offer. Make of it what you will. If I were to return to Singapore I'd look in this area again

However, I was less pleased with Internet not working anymore three (!!) times, after which I gave up; only 6 tv channels most of which were local and/or not in English, the ultra thin walls, so that noisy neighbours kept me from sleeping, so I had to urge them to "please be quiet", the small sized room, and the shower causing the whole bathroom floor to get wet after use

katarzynasC8258BB (8/5): One night stop over at Singapore - Rooms are small but comfortable for a single occupancy quick 1 night stop over at Singapore. Personally I’m not a fan of wet rooms but for a short stay it’s manageable. There were some issues with card reader at the reception and since I never really carry cash, especially in multiple currencies was worried we might have issues checking in after exhausting flight. However the reception staff, Yilin and Mira, were very helpful and accommodating in resolving the issue once we were comfortably checked in and in the rooms.

Had no issues was offered early check-in without even asking this made me so happy after travelling for approx 20 hours. But I must say it’s a convenient location close to train station and buses. Love that the cleaning staff Kaylee and Pan Jun had my room clean and cozy after I came back from daily touring the city which I loved. Value for money and I would definitely stay again.

We were served by Kaylee, Jay and Aimson, who were super helpful. The hotel is walking distance from Old airport hawkers market. The rooms are clean and well equipped, nothing better than getting good shower in sticky Singaporean heat.

I would say definitely take a cab to/from the hotel on arrival/departure because it's not super easy to get you and your luggage to the airport.

Hoa (10/5): The new excellent budget hotel on Geyland. - This is a very new hotel. The room is small but equipped with most of tourists needed. The beds are comffy. Guests will enjoy the premium filtered water, coffee and tea mix. This hotel is located in an excellent areas of Singapore where tourists can find good food from budget to high standard seafood restaurants in Geyland. We did enjoy our short stay with 81 hotel Palace in Geyland. We highly recommend this hotel to tourists who look for a very good budget hotel on Singapore.
Aya (10/5): - The hotel was great, we had a nice experience. Downtown id very accessible, you can take a bus on the main street and pay with your credit card. However, keep in mind that the neighborhood is bad. Very crowded and dirty. Feels like you're in a souk. So i recommend spending 1-2 days there and staying downtown all day.
