- Shirley (10/5): - Rooms were clean and love the rain shower. Hot water is always good Staff are friendly. Check in and out was efficient. Housekeeping was everyday but could be every other day for environmental friendly. Just a block from all restaurants and souvenirs stores. Metro just a block away as also a shopping mall. Walkable to attractions.

We stayed on the second floor and the street noise was loud, mainly due to our window not having glass, would have been 10/10 with some noise minimisation. We slept with earplugs and it was fine.

The doors need rubber bumpers on the doors , people slam the doors all day and night. My last morning there I was awakened at 7:30am by the housekeeper crushing aluminum can in front of my room . Not to happy with that. I don’t understand quest who talk loudly in the hallways and let there kid run wild with no supervision. Needs to be more signage , Quite !

- Minh Khoi (10/5): Good location and nice staff - Was good, we got a room that didn't really have enough natural light for our lighting. Staff was extremely accommodating when I asked to change, our new room was much much better and had a more normal layout. Ask for a room facing the street if you can. Other than that, the location is quite ideal, like 3 minute walk to MRT, 3 minute walk to a major bus station. Also a 10 minute walk from Maxwell Hawker center. Chinatown is also a great place to explore. Super walkable to the bay and MBS.

- Mikko (10/5): Would stay again - A nice room, everything is pretty new and clean. Nice style. The shower gets the whole bathroom wet. Super nice and good service, would recommend. The hotel also is really close to public transport and the chinatown night market.
- LARA (8/5): - The hotel was very conveniently situated to transit, shopping and restaurants. Our room was small but maneuverable. The bathroom door didn’t completely close and the shower had great pressure but was not sectioned off from the rest of the bathroom.
- Nick (10/5): - Singapore is not the cheapest of destinations these days, and in the mid-range price bracket, it can be difficult to find consistent quality across all categories of review, but Hotel 1900 has this. My partner needs everything spotless and cleanliness was perfect at 1900, and houskeeping is happy to come to your room at whatever time of day suits. This area of Chinatown is completely surrounded by bars, cafes and shopping, so everything you need for your stay is within metres. Excellent air-con is a must in Singapore and 1900 has it, but in a rare combination, your room also has multiple classic Singaporean colonial architecture shuttered windows, so you can let in as much or as little of the real air from outside as you want. An easy walk to either Chinatown or Maxwell MRT stations, 1900 is a completely comfortable escape from the steamy Singapore heat between the myriad activities on your doorstep. I'd definitely stay here again.

- Katherine (8/5): - If you are one person, this is enough. Absolutely can't beat the location. Great food area, directly across from MRT. I don't spend a lot of time in the room just slept. They told me I got a "free upgrade". I'd be shocked to see what a downgrade was! Had the room been smaller, there'd be nowhere to stand. Not even space for a coffee maker in my room. Space for bag/luggage is under the bed. 2 people would be tricky. Very clean. 3 Small windows you can't see out of, which kinda sucks, but good natural light. Bathroom window opens to outside, no screen, but it opens to ANOTHER person's bathroom window across from it! Hahahaha! No privacy if opened. My only big frustration was the bathroom. The shower is in the middle of the sink and the toilet. Odd. It's an open shower, so water goes EVERYWHERE ON EVERYTHING. Can't put the floor mat down until AFTER you shower because the whole floor is wet. Toilet cover= wet. Sink=wet. Shelf under sink= wet. Nothing dry. If anyone needs the bathroom after a shower, they have to stand in your shower water or wait till it dries. Annoying. Wanting to use the bathroom after a shower is frustrating. There is no floor squeegee to clean/dry the area, it just stays wet. Worst bathroom layout EVER. At one point, 1hr after shower I slid hard into the sink shelf. A floor squeegee in the bathroom would be great. Actual room & space were exactly what I expected from the pics, although there was a coffee maker in the pics.
- Kåre (10/5): In the middle of Historic Singapore - A beautiful historic building used by British officers back in the days. Now it hosts a nice Hotel in the vibrant Chinatown. Well worth staying at.

The hotel is on a relatively busy street but we didn’t experience any real issues with noise. Walkable to the key sites e.g. Marina Bay, Gardens etc. Allowed luggage to be held for a few hours after check-out which was a great help. Would recommend.

The bed was very awkward, as one side of the bed was right next to the wall, and you needed to climb around the bed to get to the bathroom. The shower and the toilet were one room so when you showered, the entire room was flooded. The room was very clean, and the front desk staff was very helpful.

- Keld (4/5): Langt fra 4 stjerner - Dette skulle være et 4 stjernet hotel. Jeg ville Max give det to. Vi kommer til det mest ulækker sted i Chaniatown, hotellet ser okay ud udefra. Vi får en opgradering så vi er glade. Da vi kommer på værelset, er der kun mærkelige vinduer uden glas. Når man åbner dem er det lige ud i gård og udsugning. Mega larm fra udsugning hele natten. Sengen er en futon så mega hård. Der er ingen skabe eller steder man kan gøre af sin kuffert og tøj. Personalet er søde og hjælper en så godt de kan. Hotel og værelset er okay rent.

If you want to be in the heart of the city, close to Chinatown and MRT, I would highly recommend this location based value and cleaniness.

Near MRT, night market, hawker food market. Walking distance to Clarke Quay. Negative. Noisy, thin wall and can hear everything from down stairs where all of the restaurants and bars located. Small room but everything you need. For solo traveler it’s great but for family it’s too much compromise. Yes I would book again when I come back to Singapore but only for those that like people and night life.

Toilet and the shower is in the same small space, so after shower we had to put towels on the floor in the order to use the toilet. It was a brick. Also, and perhaps this was due of our choice of room, there is constant noise from cars and partying people from the street and also outside the room door. - Marko (6/5): Renovated for looks, not for functionality - The hotel had rather new looking surfaces and was clean uppon arrival. Stayed 4 nights, when I was about to leave and started packing my luggage cockroach jumped out from clothpile that were folded on the chair. There was no soundproofing at all, you could see corridor lights between room door and frames. You were able to hear everything like you were sharing the room with bunch of other people (neighbours snoring, tv noises, talking, moaning, visits in bathrooms, corridor/street noises etc). If you want to enjoy silence while in your room, this is no hotel for you. Rooms are also rather small, AC in my room was blowing straight to bed so last night I had to turn off the ac due sore throat and choose sweating instead (AC should be installed more far in room corridor or so that it doesnt blow straight to bed).

- Dean (8/5): - I received a complimentary upgrade, which was very nice because the normal sized rooms are a bit small. The staff were pleasant, however, I was surprised that they allowed hotel guests to use the lobby as their suitcase repacking area. It was ridiculous. Every day that I passed through the lobby I would have to negotiate around groups of people packing/unpacking their belongings in the small lobby. On one occasion, someone had actually plugged in her hair dryer and was blow-drying her hair…in the lobby! I guess this is pretty typical because the hotel staff didn’t seem to even notice. The hotel is conveniently located in Chinatown where all kinds of restaurants and shopping are steps away. The MRT station is just a couple minutes walk from the hotel.

- Judith (10/5): Great location - The hotel is located in the middle of Chinatown. Very close to subway station and busses. Great location also for going out in the evening. One problem, my moms room didn't have a closetand the room was quite tiny. But we had a big room and lots of closet space. All in all we had a great time there.
