• Crystal (6/5): Great Service - The hotel service is fabulous, the rooms are a little old, but the service makes up for it. Breakfast is great. good cheep food in the neighborhood and Turkish Delight around the corner.

He goes out of his way to advise us where to go and how plus if we need anything he's always helping us! The breakfast was really good and tasty plus the view at terrace was very nice! We definitely will stay at sirma sultan everytime we visit Istanbul. Thank you mr. Roberto from Lebanon!

Morgemadsbuffeten kunne godt have brugt en stjerne mere , lidt mere opmærksomhed på at der kan mangle bestik at osten er sluppet op osv. Tagterassen desværre lukket af efter middag også et minus.

Die Freundlichkeit der Angestellten (bis auf eine Dame an der Rezeption und im Service beim Frühstück) lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Die Badezimmer hatten nicht einmal für "südländische" Verhältnisse ein annehmbares Niveau. - und ich bin schon gut rumgekommen! Wir haben vorher - wie verlangt - per Kreditkarte bezahlt und wurden dann zur nochmaligen Zahlung vor Ort aufgefordert, da das Geld angeblich nicht angekommen ist. Unsere Belege sagen aber was anderes. Augenblicklich läuft eine Beschwerde und der Versuch der Rückholung durch EXPEDIA. Es macht also Sinn hier Kreditkartenabrechnungen als Beleg mitzuführen. Das Frühstück war dem Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis angemessen und auf das Dachterrasse war es auch sehr angenehm. Alles in allem würde ich das Hotel keinem Freund empfehlen!

• Murriany (6/5): The facility Need to be improved - As we arrived at the hotel, we found out that the we had a toilet problem in our room. The water keep running after we flushed. After we complained the water was stop from running but in the other way we can't use the toilet again because there was no water to be flushed. And the woman at the bfast room seems unhappy doing her job.

Some confusion about whether we had pre-paid for the room but that could have been a fault of Expedia.com with whom we booked the hotel. It was very close to the Little Aya Sophia Mosque & the major tourist sites of the city.

С выбором не прогадали: отель чистый, уютный, идеальный для ночлега - ничего лишнего. Номер чистый и симпатичный,в турецком стиле. порадовало также, что завтрак включён в стоимость номера. Завтрак, конечно,простенький (свежий хлеб, сыры, оливки, яйца и т.д.), но в самой столовой очень даже атмосферно! Можно завтракать на открытой террасе, смотреть на пролетающих чаек и милые крыши соседних домиков. Все самые интересные места в пешей доступности от отеля. Единственный минус: мы долго не могли его найти самостоятельно, он не совсем верно показан на карте. Добрые люди помогли) также можно добраться от метро или аэропорта на такси.

• Holiday Man (4/5): THINGS TO CHECK BEFORE YOU BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL! - I booked through Expedia and was told that the cost of the hotel would be taken off my credit card a few days before my departure. On arrival at the hotel, I was asked to pay for my stay in advance. This caused me trouble as I had to use my spending money cash for payment. I also asked if I could check out late on my last day due to an evening return flight. I had this request written on my booking. On my last day I was asked to check out at 12 noon and I hadtoshow them my booking with the request before they let me check out later. The owner is never around and the level of English spoken is poor. There was a constant smell in the bathroom and some of the fixtures and fittings were broken. The lighting was very poor both in the room and reception area. The WIFI has connectivity problems!

La camera era pulita ma nel bagno l'acqua del wc scorreva ininterrottamente(era un problema prender sonno ) e nonostante la segnalazione l'inconveniente in tre gg. di permanenza non è stato rimediato. La connessione Internet ,garantita in tutte le stanze ,di fatto ,funzionava solo nel corridoio!

He was always at hand to recommend places to see. give directions, deliver an iron to my room, order taxis, tell me about a good price. when I couldnt print my tickets from my i-pad- i simply emailed them over. he went out of his way, allowed me to use thier computer at no extra charge. he was just a perfect example of a good host. Always cheerful!
• nassim (4/5): Manque de professionalisme!! - Hôtel bien situé sur la carte mais en réalité se situe en forte pente jusqu'à la station de tramway. Le personnel est peu courtois. Le premier jour on nous a fait payer la réservation sur place alors que sur le récap d'Hôtels.com il était dit que l'hôtel nous débiterais sur notre cb. Il nous a donc fait un trou de 350€ dans notre budget, après l'avoir payer Roberto nous a emmener dans un autre hôtel que le sirma car notre chambre n'a pas été gardée malgré la réservation sur Hotels.com. Le second jour nous avons eu notre chambre dans le Sirma, une petite chambre au dernier étage collée au restaurant. Le matin nous entendions tous les allés et viens des gens ainsi que des bruits d'assiettes. Le couvre lit était avec de vieilles tâches de sang et il était impossible d'allumer la lumière de la salle de bain car elle mettait en marche l'extracteur d'air avec un fort bruit de vieille brouette, il faut se battre avec la robinetterie. Le ménage est fait à la vas vite, la poussière s'amassait dans les coins. Au final je vous conseille de payer un peu plus et d'avoir un hôtel mieux situé et plus agréable.

Ancak gerek otel sahibi gerekse akşam sorumlusu beyfendi bizlere kibar davrandı haklı olduğumuzu tarafımıza iade etti olay tatlıya bağlandı.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Meer verwacht - Locatie is de enige pluspunt. Dichtbij centrum sultanahmet. Toen we aankwamen zaten de kamers in het hotel zelf vol dus werden we verplaats naar een appartement om de hoek dat ook van hun is. Geen lift. Kamergrootte was ok. Uit de badkamer kwam vieze lucht en de kranen waren half kapot. Elke keer als een gast binnenkwam via de buitendeur naar het appartement hoorde je de deur hard dichtklappen en geluiden in de gang waren erg hoorbaar.
• Trung (8/5): Good price, best location - Good stay. The price is right, but the best part is the location without a doubt. All tourist sights are walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. I would stay again if I came again and I would recommend my friends. The staff is helpful and (decently but not overly) friendly. The room is clean and comfortable, maybe a little small, but it didn't bother me because I didn't have high expectations.
• Diego U. (4/5): Estancia complicada - El hotel se encuentra muy bien ubicado, y en estas tarifas no es fácil encontrar algo en Sultanahmet. Sin embargo, el servicio no es bueno. Roberto, el manager, tuvo una actitud servicial, pero siempre en beneficio del hotel y no nuestro. Durante nuestra estancia de 5 días, por diferentes motivos, estuvimos en 4 habitaciones diferentes (y esta parece ser la modalidad de trabajo del hotel). Algunas habitaciones con MUCHO ruido (las de planta baja), otras sin ventanas (las del subsuelo), y otras con olores desagradables. En el momento que estuvimos allí, lo estaban pintando, así que suponemos que puede mejorar. Recomendamos las habitaciones del 1er y 2do piso encarecidamente (no pudimos dormir en la PB). El desayuno estaba muy bien, la vista de la terraza era muy bonita, y el personal de limpieza y del desayuno con muy buena predisposición.

• Deeba family (10/5): Very friendly, very helpful and very convenient! - Looking for reasonably priced accommodation in Istanbul was difficult so we were delighted when we found this hotel in such a great location. We stayed in this hotel from 18th - 22nd Oct 2013. Only a short walk from Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. The bedrooms were small but clean and convenient with interesting style decor. The hotel staff are excellent, super friendly and always ready to help in whatever way necessary. In our case we have much to thank the hotel manager for always being so kind and helpful and even changed our room 3 times to make our stay more relaxing. We were really appreciative of their efforts to make our stay in their hotel such a comfortable and memorable experience. The many restaurants in the area provide a good range of convenient dining options. If you are budgeting then this is a good deal. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely!

• Albert (2/5): Not Recommended to anybody - Me and my wife had a terrible experience. When we arrive there our room was given to somebody else. So firstly the owner try to make me pay for the full period. I did not do that and demand to see the room first. Then he inform me that he is going to put us in another hotel for one night and our room will be available the next day. Then he show us the room. It was so small that we could not get our two suit cases in the room. when you want to open the door to the bathroom I had to take our two suitcases in the passage(The next day I compare the photo on the internet with what I have seen). People must be very careful when they look at a photo of a room on the internet. Try to measure the distance between the bed and the walls of the room.

• Nicole (6/5): Great staff/Pure 3 star/Decent location - The reception went out of its way everyday to make my stay pleasant. They arranged shuttles, helped with directions and got me dinner delivered when I was hungry late at night. The hotel is a decent uphill walk to the main square in the old city. It took about 10 mins to get there everyday after a cool walk. There are lots of places to eat nearby. However, the area is very sketchy and would not recommend walking around late at night. The rooms were the worst part of the hotel. Small, cramped with run down furniture & a hard bed. The shower stall had mildew and mold everywhere along its corners and lots of counters tops etc were dirty/unwiped. I asked for a room change after the first night but the second room, although larger, was not much better and had a horrid smell.
• Julia (2/5): Does not match online description, very dirty - Our stay at this "hotel" was just horrible. When you book a room there, you should know that some of their rooms are not in the actual hotel, but across the street. We wanted to book a boutique hotel in Istanbul and we didn't expect too much, just the basics - clean bed, our own bathroom, hair dryer, a mirror in the bathroom, all of which was listed in the room description. So, we thought we would get a standard room in a hotel. Instead, we were given a "room" across the street. The only things that were in the room were a bed with a filthy cover, a tv and one night stand. No AC so air was stuffy.This room was on the second floor, connected to another room with closets in there that contained somebody's dirty socks and clothes. This was connected to a small kitchen that was dirty and had empty bottles in the drawers. Bathroom: had used feminine products in the trash that wasn't emptied and long black hair on the floor. Used slippers there.The water from the shower came right over the toilet so you had to stand next to the toilet to take shower. There was no mirror whatsoever which made it very challenging to get ready. There was no hair dryer even though the description said there will be one and I didn't take mine. This resulted in having to go to bed with wet hair and runny nose. In the middle of the night we were awaken by two drunk girls who were staying the room next door and noone told us we were sharing the place with them. Our stay there ruined Istanbul for us.
• Tee (6/5): Decent hotel - For the price paid the hotel was decent and clean. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, there was some mix up on the first day as I believe they had double booked us. We were offered an alternative accommodation that was not suitable to our needs. We did eventually get the room we needed. It was a basement room and all things considered it wasn't that bad. The location of the hotel was great as it was close to the main attractions.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - I strongly advise any single women NOT to stay in this hotel! At the second night I stayed, the owner asked me to take a picture with him and then he started to hug and kiss me on the neck! After that he invited me to the terrace and I refused. And then, he kept making calls via intercom dozens of times, and hence I had to pull the cord of the phone off in order not to be harassed! And because the lock of the door can only be locked by the key, no other things like bolts, so actually I was too scared to sleep for all night! That's why I moved to another hotel immediately the next day! In addition, the water in the bathroom has a pungent smell, terribly awful!!!
• Verified traveler (6/5): Sirma Sultan Hotel Istanbul - So, I don't have much to say about this hotel as I only stayed there for one night, however, I would recommend it if it is just a one or two night stay that you are looking for during your stay in Istanbul. Regarding the hotel, upon arrival, my partner and I were issued a basement room, which isn't ideal for anyone, however as stated already, we only stayed for one night so it wasn't really a problem. The room was fine, the bed was comfortable, there wasn't much space but I didn't exactly want to start dancing so space wasn't too important. The bathroom was also fine, however, the water from the shower flooded the whole bathroom because there wasn't anything to stop that from occurring. Essentially, for money, it did the job, a place to sleep and close to things we wanted to see! In regards to the area of the hotel, it is relatively small, and slightly confusing to find as it is located in a bazaar type area, (our taxi driver had to stop and ask at least four other taxi drivers for directions, all of whom looked a little confused themselves!) As well as this, the hotel is close to famous landmarks, but again, remember hotels or restaurants along the way if you are walking around in the area as you can easily get lost! Apart from getting lost though, it is quite close to everything, realistically, and without getting lost, I would say its roughly a 15 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Hippodrome area, and then taxis and buses are available everywhere to take you elsewhere. To conclude, very good value for money, and would definitely recommend if it is one or two nights stay you're after!

• Verified traveler (6/5): Nice for the price - Room was clean. Attractions were within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. I showed up early for check-in and they didn't hesitate to give me a room. They even let me choose which room I wanted. The room was cleaned daily. The only complaint is that the bathroom had a very strong mildew smell that was at times a little too much. However, for the price that I paid this hotel suited my needs just fine. Very good for travelers on a budget.
