Guest Reviews
- Mobile13901588763 (10/5): Awesome Aldebaran....Must stay! - Our stay at the Aldebaran was nothing short of perfect. The away from city center location right on the lake provided a breathtaking backdrop, ideal for our family. So peaceful!
What truly sets this hotel apart is its personalized touch. The owner greets guests personally, adding a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The entire staff is fantastic and super helpful with daily plans, always offering great suggestions and making our stay seamless.
We also enjoyed the great food served at the hotel. Overall, it is a charming small boutique hotel that our family of 6 and one we highly recommend.
- R6889TPantoniov (10/5): Wonderful secluded hotel with spa in Peninsula de San Pedro - Excellent hotel, attention was 1A. Absolutely gorgeous views from the room and everywhere. Love location away from overcrowded Bariloche in the Peninsula de San Pedro. Close to a bunch of spectacular places for trekking. Spa after walking up and down the mountains was great: sauna, Scottish shower and jacuzzi. Lucia and Ezra helped us organize trekking and restaurants
Recomendo.
- 556laurelp (10/5): Enchanting hotel from a lost era - My partner and I stayed at Aldebaran and it was magical. I cannot recommend it enough. The whole peninsula feels tranquil but the hotel almost feels like a fairy tale. It's made of beautiful stone with vines growing on the front and a warm wood burning fire in the massive hearth at the center of the hotel.
Everything is full of character and history-- from the skeleton key room key to the creaking wooden floors. Plus pictures cannot begin to do justice to the views. And that's just the building!
The real heart of Aldebaran's charm is the staff.
Lucia stayed up late and waited at the desk for us to arrive at midnight, and she was always happy to help my partner (who doesn't speak much Spanish) with translations or questions in English. Erica served us breakfast every day (delicious by the way) and was the most lovely, kind person we met on the whole trip!! I wanted to be best friends with her.
And if all of that isn't enough, we also met the owner who was so warm and welcoming.
If I could live at Aldebaran I would.
(My only two words of advice are that there are no king or double beds- they put two twin/single beds together which is okay. But the two beds kept slipping apart on the wood floors, so no spooning haha. And the road to get there turns into a packed dirt road for the last mile or so-- be prepared for some bumps. Nothing our rental car couldn't handle though!)
- Garrett (10/5): - Fantastic stay for weekend visit to Bariloche while in Argentina for a long business trip. The owner and the staff were all extremely hospitable and welcoming. I travel extensively for work and the service provided by the entire staff made me feel like I was staying with family and friends. Aldebaran’s service is unmatched by anywhere else I have stayed this year.
- Juscelino Augusto (10/5): Excelente!
(8/5): Very good - the location isn't fantastic, but rather cute, althow when the snow fell we had to use chains on tires to get to the main road. The personell is great, very responsive there could be more variety in the menu of the restaurant, also the wifi was mediocre to failing
The highlight of the inn is the service provided by the staff, especially Erica. I've read reports of an excellent breakfast, but I suggest you don't get your hopes up, as it's only average for a 3-star hotel. The downside was the room's cleanliness; one day they forgot to take out the trash can and didn't change the towels during our five stays. However, they were flexible enough to allow later checkout.
- Nicole (10/5): - Completamente hermoso!
- Daniel (10/5): - Excellent facility and service
- Greg (10/5): - Lovely mountainside property with amazing view of the mountains and lakes. Small size of the hotel meant we got to know the help and informative staff. Food was terrific. A bit of a drive out of Bariloche but worthwhile for us.
- Stuart (9/5): Peace, quiet and tranquility with amazing lake views - spacious rooms, amazing view and very quiet it was a bit remote and far from centre and amenities
- Amelia (8/5): - A delightfully situated hotel with wonderful staff and food. Rooms very quiet and a relaxing feel in the common areas, I would return here.
- Vittorio (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and peaceful location with an intimate and cozy feel. Staff were friendly, warm and very accommodating.
- Margrit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexei (9/5): Beautiful experience! - Absolutely beautifil location and excellent staff! The decor is a somewhat old.
- I15LLjuliel (6/5): There are better hotels in Bariloche - In reading the other reviews of this hotel, I can’t help wondering if we are talking about the same hotel. This hotel is so far removed from anything in Bariloche. It is difficult to get an uber to come pick you up to go for dinner (so you need to rely on a fixed price taxi that is expensive and will only accept pesos). And you are going to want to go out for dinner because the menu at the hotel is limited and not great. The remote location would have been fine except that the access to the water is precarious at best. Water supply was either scalding hot or non existent. Wifi was spotty at best - I ran out of my data plan because wifi didn’t work most of the time anywhere in the hotel.
- Romina (9/5): Superb -
- 881ceciliaw (10/5): Quick mother - daughter trip - This boutique hotel is very nice, clean, food was delicious and service was great. Every single employee we came in contact with was very friendly, professional and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a great view. In my opinion it’s best to have a car while staying there because it is a little far from town but closer to many points of interest like the historical Hotel Lao Lao and Puerto Pañuelo. There is a nice beach on Lake Nauel Huapi that is only a 15 minute walk. I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.
- 629olivero (10/5): Fantastic, 10/10, staff exceptional - My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We absolutely loved it!!!
The setting is beautiful (the pontoon down by the water is so special and made for great cold water morning swims).
The room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard everyday. The kitchen catered well to my wife’s food allergies.
The staff are incredibly helpful (receptionists and waitresses) but a special mention must go to Ezra who we would be lost without - we had issues with our flights/an airline and after a few hours of trying to resolve, Ezra went above and beyond to save the day and get us to our next destination. I will be forever indebted to Ezra for this - he is a real credit to Aldebaran!
I hope to be back soon.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
- eduardou662 (6/5): A good place for a a honey moon. But not for a more adventurous trip - The people at the hotel are very friendly. The rooms are clean and big. This is a good place for a honey-moon. Not to good if you want to explore the region do trecking etc. The hotel is not well prepared to serve and inform those clients. The restaurant is ok but service is slow…..
If you do not have a car, take into account that taxis are VERY expensive. So choose a hotel close to the sites you want to visit. A
- Ekaterina (9/5): Gorgeous boutique hotel with nice views - Beautiful boutique hotel with views of Nahuel Huapi lake and Mount López. All spaces are thoughtfully decorated, cozy, and clean. The staff is extremely helpful and responsive. The property has a restaurant which is very convenient since the location is not close to any other restaurants; however, the menu is limited and doesn’t have some dishes on the menu.
- larakW4576PM (10/5): Top Recommendation for Bariloche - The highlight of our stay in Argentina. This beautiful 10 bedroom boutique hotel nestled into the peninsula overlooking the lake hits all the right notes. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfy, and complete with a terrace.
The open area is homely with plenty of nooks to create a sense of space and comfort for all guests. The food in the restaurant is delicious, particularly the meats served from the clay oven. However, the standout feature of this hotel is most certainly the staff. They are full of good cheer and make sure you are well looked after, without ever being over the top.
- Katehunterbadger (8/5): Aldebaran Hotel, Bariloche - “A Boutique Gem on the Peninsula”
Our stay at Aldebaran Hotel in Bariloche was truly memorable. This boutique-sized retreat offered a cozy and intimate atmosphere with beautifully designed rooms which overlooked
Nahuel Huapi Lake with the snow capped mountains in the background.Ezra’s warm welcome and attentive care made our visit extra special. The bar was a highlight, boasting a tremendous wine list that perfectly complemented the relaxing evenings by the fire. While the hotel is a bit out of the way, the tranquility and charm of its location make it absolutely worth the journey. HIghly recommend it for those seeking a peaceful and personalized escape.
- Deimante (10/5): Stunning botique hotel - Beautifully designed boutique hotel with an amazing staff. It was really relaxing to spend couple of nights and relax - everything was taken care of. Spa area could use a little upgrade/ water heating
- 439elie (10/5): The most relaxing hotel. - Absolutely gorgeous hotel and an even more serene setting, with the perfect view of the lake and mountains each morning. The staff -- Marilu, Ezra, Lucy and the others -- were so helpful and friendly. Really the ideal place to stay btwn the more touristic downtown and the sometimes chaotic circuito area. Well-situated to access both while being able to escape. We only ate at the restaurant once but it was delicious.
- Gemma-ml234 (10/5): Peaceful getaway - Am writing this on our last night of 4 and sad to be leaving.
Everything with our stay here - the setting, inside and out has been perfect. We’ve eaten a lot and everything ordered from the restaurant is delicious, but the real highlight is the staff. They are all so friendly and really seem to care about the guests, thank you.
Our room though very close to the public area though peaceful and very comfortable.
My only suggestion would be tea/coffee in the rooms as every morning I had to pop out in my pyjamas, but it’s so quiet here I didn’t mind :-)
- Ido (7/5): Good - Unique location, unique hotel (if you like nostalgic and not modern), very good service. Far from Bariloche, Breakfast is not a bufe which we didnt like. SPA: two out of three times i wanted to use the Jacuzzi and it was not availble (no water, water cold). However - they fixed it in 30 minutes. You cant turn off the heat in the room
- Luciano (10/5): Exceptional -
A piscina no SPA estava super quentinha e gostosa.
- Angela (10/5): Marilú and Ezra made the stay sensational for us on my birthday -
- Mat (10/5): - This is such a wonderful place to stay. Amazing staff and the best restaurant we tried in the area!
- Serena (10/5): Beautiful view, lovely hotel with lots of different spaces to relax in. - Beautiful view
- Jean (9/5): Lovely inn with gorgeous views. - Delightful inn with wonderfully attentive staff and large comfortable bedrooms, as well as ample common rooms ( with views). Enjoyed being on the peninsula, well away from bustle of Bariloche. Being an English speaker ( only) was not a problem here. Our bedroom had a gorgeous view of the lake & mountain. The staff helped us make sailing & restaurant bookings. Sending out laundry for 24 hr turn around was easy. Due to location (off of main road), be sure to have a rental car.
- Eleanor (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect getaway! So quiet and peaceful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful -- the front desk helped us with some logistics before we arrived, such as helping us set up a rental car and arranging for some excursions during our stay. We were so sad to leave!
- Kenneth (10/5): - It would be hard to imagine a more comfortable place to stay than the Aldebaran Hotel. The staff was amazingly accommodating and helpful. The interior of the hotel is more like a high end residence than a hotel. We ate at the hotel three nights and the food and service were excellent every night, although pricey by Argentine standards. The view of the lake and mountains from our room was like a painting. This hotel is about 45 minutes from the chaos of downtown Bariloche and is in a very peaceful semi-rural area. It is very close to the Circuito Chico, which in our opinion had much better and more accessible scenery than the Circuito Grande. We would stay here again.
- David (10/5): - I love this place! It’s a lovely small hotel in a beautiful setting right on the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Wonderful staff. Good food and wine. No crowds. Great place for a romantic getaway.
- Delfina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): A peaceful retreat on a stunning lake - It’s a small lakeside property about 40 minutes outside of the town of Bariloche, peaceful and quiet and intended to be a place to relax and enjoy. The staff was personable and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfasts and dinners there were delicious. There was an unusual heat wave when we cane, and there’s no air conditioning - the rooms were toasty when we arrived but cooled down quickly with open windows. Transportation required use of local car services.
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (8/5): Very good - Very cozy hotel, excellent food provided by the very pleasant and professional Erica and Mariluz. View is amazing. Staff is kind and helpful. The common spaces were really enjoyable to spend time in. The spa was unfortunately a bit dusty and could have been cleaner.
Our room was extremely warm with no a/c - keeping the heavy curtains shut during the day did help a bit.
Considering the location on the peninsula, renting a car is the smart option.
- Ricardo (9/5): Superb -
- Marijke (10/5): Exceptional - We liked this boutique hotel. The distance to town and the unpaved roads to the hotel. Difficult to find.
- Ramachandra (10/5): Beautiful property and location. Very nice and helpful staff. - Beautiful property and location. Very nice and helpful staff.
- Diede (10/5): Best place to rest and enjoy the beautiful lake and nature! Recommended to only go when you have your own car. - The views were amazing and the service excellent ! Nothing
- Lauren (10/5): Tranquil and beautiful views - It was beautiful and quiet. Loved the spacious rooms, the views and the property Absolutely nothing. The entire staff was extremely accommodating. Exceptional service
- Lambir (9/5): Superb -

- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricardo (9/5): Superb -
- Tetyana (8/5): Good hotel but won’t stay here another time because of the bad route to the hotel. - Great hotel, very unique. The restaurant is great. The breakfast is much better than anywhere else, you can order the eggs you want in the morning. The sauna is good and hot. The jacuzzi is great. The swimming pool is small. The root to the hotel is really bad, it’s like driving in the middle of nowhere. For the four star hotel I won’t expect such a bad route. Very few people talking English be prepared. Check everything twice before you agree if you are not speaking Spanish. We had asked for taxi and usually we paid 8200$ pesos but when we got to the mountain the driver asked us 15000$ because he was from different agency and the receptionist forgot to tell us about that and before that I asked her to call the taxi for 10:30 and I thought she understood but at 10:30 we figured out that she did not called anyone and we wait another 40 min for the taxi. It was disaster. The property a little outdated, no sound proof you can hear everyone in the corridor.
- Ora (8/5): Beautiful place, good energy. - We entered the hotel and it was warm, the staff friendly, very aestetic style in the hotel, lots of privacy, quiet and cosy.
We discovered the little path down from the hotel right to the beach with a little hut for a meditation or a stretch or a dance. Beautiful! The breakfast could include vegetables and salat. There is so much sweet stuff, one shouldn't eat and little healthy food.
- Leontine (9/5): Beautiful boutique hotel with stunning views and great kitchen - What a beautiful spot, what a lovely boutique hotel. I've returned and would return. Restaurant is really good, views are spectacular (we had a very spacious twin room on the side of the lake), and it is all so so pretty. Best hotel in the region by far! Nothing. You will need a car or taxi to get you there. Do get a room with views.
- Jesse (10/5): Exceptional - Great - clean, modern rooms. Helpful staff. Nice restaurant. Would come back here again!
- Liu (9/5): Superb -
- Carolina (10/5): Great stay! - Staff is very friendly! The restaurant is really good!
- Kalvan (10/5): Loved everything! - Amazing location and beautiful villa. Customized breakfast would be nice.
- Nikita (10/5): The perfect place to relax and enjoy nature - Very nice and cozy interior, polite and helpful staff. we really like the menu of the restaurant. Service, presentation and variety of dishes was on top. And of course a magnificent view from the room to the lake and the forest. We needed a first aid kit to treat the wound, but unfortunately it was not in the hotel. We had to wait a long time for delivery from the pharmacy.
- Helve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jorge (10/5): Amazing experience - This has to be one of the most beautiful hotels I've been to. The room was spacious, comfortable and had an amazing open view to the mountains and the lake. This was the first time room service made sense, since the view was breathtaking and you didn't want to leave the room. Everyone at the hotel was super helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Great hotel. Super recommended. Nothing really. It was really good.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved our stay at Alderbaran Hotel and Spa. Luxurious, hospitable, and calming. It was perfect for our adventure honeymoon. Trekking during the day and luxury at night!
- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely place among the mountains - The location is absolutely fantastic, the rustic cabin look and feel the quiet. It is an awesome place to share in couple. -
- Esther (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alvaro (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great quiet location. Great views. Amazing breakfast. Lovely comfortable bed and pools. Thanks Josephina and staff for the warm welcoming service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sehr ruhig, gutes Frühstück und sehr nettes Personal
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stunning views, peaceful location, excellent dinners, huge room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cosy little characterful hotel. Lovely quiet location in the forest with beautiful views. Nice and comfortable rooms plus nice little spa and pool area. Felt like a small, intimate hotel
- Clare (10/5): Beautiful - Beautiful hotel for a very relaxing stay. Staff were very helpful and attentive, and the food was excellent.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and quite far from the centre of Bariloche.
Only negative was that the jacuzzi was very dirty, otherwise the hotel is very presentable, clean and comfortable.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Absolutely fantastic! - Charming boutique hotel with stunning views of the lake and a short distance from Bariloche town centre.
Friendly staff and all the amenities you could wish for in a boutique hotel. Spacious room with a balcony overlooking the lake and a distinct old-world charm. Definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed in!!
