• 705serkand (8/5): Yenikapı Marmaray Hotel - The hotel is within walking distance of the metro and tram. The room was clean and nice. The restaurant had a nice sea view and breakfast. The staff was helpful and friendly. Overall I was satisfied. I recommend it to those who will visit Istanbul.

This is the first time we have been disappointed with the breakfast at this hotel. Both times the bread at breakfast was hard and old. For a country that is known for its delicious bread, this is unacceptable. The food that was supposed to be warm-sausages, potatoes, pasta, fried foods - cold.

• Silke (8/5): - Unser Zimmer war ausreichend gross. Das Bad war ok. Der Schrank hatte nur eine Ablage und 4 Bügel. Wir haben viele Sachen im Koffer gelassen. Es gab einen französischen Balkon. Das war für uns toll, ist aber nicht bei allen Zimmern so. Ein Safe steht kostenlos zur Verfügung. Ganz toll ist der Frühstücksraum in der 7. Etage. Rundumblick. Das Frühstück selbst ist auch gut. Aber ohne frischem Obst. Haben wir uns selbst im Laden gekauft. Wir waren schon mehrfach dort und kommen auch wieder. Die Metro und Tramp sind fußläufig erreichbar. Das ist uns für unsere Ausflüge wichtig. Auch die Fahrt zum Flughafen kann in Eigenregie stattfinden.

Cucumber was dried up. tomatoes were all overripe. had to keep to boiled eggs and bread. fruit should be an option for breadfast However location of hotel was very good. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Air con did not work, said it would be fixed in two hours but never worked. Why give me the room if the air con was broken. could not leave door open as the noise outside was so bad. less choice of dishes at breakfast and fresher produce. no air con. Confirmed rate was €292.50 yet €301 was taken from my credit card. Had two coffee sachets in the room on arrival. should be replaced daily.
• Najhim (9/5): Overall good value for money, good location, brilliant staff, certaintly my go-to hotel at Istanbul. - The breakfast was nice it consisted of various types of foods and was presented in a buffet style. The restaurant area was comfortable and nice and overall was good value for money. The Gym only had 2 equipments; i was expecting a room full of dumbbells and cables etc. There was no pool even though it was listed on the facilities description. Can be hard to sleep at times due to the noise from the outside and if you are in floor 6 you hear the noise from upstairs floor 7- the restaurant.

Room was so small, we couldn’t even walk around. We asked for a cot and it wasn’t provided. We asked for a double bed but was provided 3 single bed. The room service was very poor and it felt like the staff’s morale was very low as they weren’t working to guests expectations. The staff in reception were very moody and didn’t want to help out.
• why_always_me_No1 (6/5): A bit random, I’m not really 4 star - Booked a week at the Marmaray hotel through love holidays as it was handy forgetting to the Champions League final and fan zone ..It is located down a side street and first impression is the area looks a bit of a random area. That said the hotel was very clean and the reception staff were really nice. The bedrooms were cleaned daily, albeit of a particular style of cleaning! The bin didn’t get emptied 1 day & No coffee was left another! Only one charging point in the room, there was another socket, but it was just the face of the socket, screwed onto the wall with no electrics behind it 🤣. The TV reception wasn’t great, only one, English Channel. The room had a double bed and a single bed and a fridge and TV. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but the breakfast I have to say was very very Turkish and did not accommodate other European / American tastes at all. There was one choice of bread and a toaster (which the chap turned off every five minutes )an array of cheeses peppers, dates, olives, and some cereal, chips, soup, and boiled eggs.!!! when we asked for a poached egg or a fried egg for a change we were told that would be extra….”really “ . So if this breakfast is not your style, try and stay room only and eat elsewhere. The hotel is located near yenakapi Metro station, so very easy to get around. So in summary it’s very average, it’s a place to stay and that’s about it really . The staff are okay and with a little more effort this could be a much better hotel ie a couple of extra choices on breakfast and the staff in the restaurant need to have a smile on their face and learn a little English

• Yashar (9/5): Superb - Due to the fact that it is located in the center of the city and the market, the space around the hotel is naturally crowded, but with double glazed windows, the sound outside is not annoying. The hotel staff is hospitable and spends time with the hotel guests. Two small things that should be considered in the future, one is that the light in the rooms is low. Second, toilet faucets need to be inspected.

It has the same menu everyday. Very little to food. Many cheeses but less breakfast material. Boiled eggs only, as opposed to scrambled ,sunny side up or fully done eggs. Too many cold salads everyday and less food.More plug points required in rooms.

• Hafez (8/5): great staff, great location, great break fast - Location: the location is a huge plus, you are 15 min away from the main attractions, also that you can reach taksim and the Asian side so easy by walking 6 min till the metro station was great plus. Breakfast: unlike the ratings for the breakfast, it was excellent. you had every thing you expect for a breakfast meal. Staff: very friendly and helpful, speaks Turkish, English, and some speak also Arabic. Noise: the noise wasn’t the worst till a point that you can’t sleep, but it was there, however if you have a long day walking in Istanbul, you would come look for the bed and you wouldn’t care how much noise you will hear because you will be already dead :))
• Daniel (1/5): Bad - We had no time even to appreciate the hotel since, although we had a regular reservation on Booking, as soon as we arrived the receptionist informed us that, because of the lack of room availability, we need to move to a different nearby hotel (Alpine Hotel), where I got a less than 4 square meters room instead of the room I reserved AND payed for. It was hard for me even to open my luggage on the Alpinn room floor. My advice to the Marmaray Hotel is to respect customers by informing them in time in these cases. Since we were not informed on the change of the hotel (!) for our reservation at all, the lack of respect for customers needs to be fixed.
• Svetoslav (3/5): Poor - I liked how the linens had holes in them. I liked how tha bathroom had black mold. I liked how neither the TV or the AC worked. I like how this is a 2star hotel pretending to be a 4 star one. But above all I liked how that they put a family with a small baby in 12 sq.m. room even when we booked 20sq.m room. Such a small room where the fridge door could not be opened fully or we had to play acrobats every time we tried to traverse the room.

The hotel isnt new, but they try to make the best of it. Housekeeping is professional and good. Location is kinda central in regards to the main shopping road, but its still about a 30 minute walk to Sophia. The next subway station is 5 minutes away across a busy road. Everybody was always very helpful and the stay was quite pleasurable indeed.

• nicdicu (2/5): My worst experience ever - I am actually writing from the reception lobby because I refused to be checked in. The room I was supposed to spend my night hasn't got a window, which, I believe, is against any safety regulations. More than that, when I visited my sons' room I was in a total awe of the fact that the fire sprinkler is above the TV set. I let you draw the conclusions. And for the sake of political correctness I have to mention that the rooms I am talking about are 3010 and 3001. During my stylistic striving my cousin has got a nature' s call just to find out that there aren't any toilets anywhere near the reception lobby. She has been sent to - 2, but the toilet is nowhere to be find. I have repeated the operation seek and do whatever you need to do and EVRIKA!!! I find it in a store room. Thanks be to God and to the moving sensors (and the fact I happen to be more adventurous in obscure places) or else I would have missed it too. I believe I am entitle to say that one star is quite generous. What I am sure of is I definitely won't forget this experience for the rest of my days.

First day we arrived there was a dirty floor, our feet turned black probably they didn't mop the floor. called the staff they gave me slippers instead of cleaning the floor. We had to mop it ourselves with towels. The room was heated and they asked us to open the window. If you open the window then you couldn't sleep there because it was a lot of noise from the street and smoke. One night we couldn't sleep because there was cigarette smoke. Upon check out we waited for a taxi which is arranged by the hotel and taxi did not come they call without answering we had to wait with stress for another taxi which the hotel arranged after 30 min delay. Bad service by the hotel

• Sadi (6/5): In general, the stay in the hotel was not bad, the staff was good, and the location of the hotel was good - The workers are good..clean..the building has a historical imprint..close to markets, transportation and restaurants I asked for a transfer from the airport to the hotel, but I waited in vain and had to rent a taxi in which I was subjected to extortion... On the way back, I asked for a taxi, but it turned out that the hotel did not have private cars, but rather rented a regular taxi for me. It was not comfortable, However, the hotel charged me a hundred Turkish lira for that.. I booked a Turkish bath and at the time I found another person, which confused our daily program in Istanbul and disturbed our mood a lot.. Breakfast was not at the required level.. It is very poor and not varied as expected, so that we were satisfied with boiled eggs and tea.. Even the bread was not varied..

• Asala (8/5): Excellent stay - Unlike my experience with the receptionist Burak at Marmaray hotel main branch who was super aggressive and very racist calling me “Arapgça” which is an insult in Turkish, my experience at Blue Marmaray in Lalali was amazing. A receptionist called Mohammed who’s originally Turkish but can speak both English and Arabic very fluently, was very nice super respectful always smiling and very professional. He was the total opposite of the other receptionist at the main branch. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Mohammed for being super nice friendly and kind with us during our stay! :)

• Duckpond01 (2/5): Really bad Hotel - Having read previous reviews I went with an open mind, as some Hotels are not as bad as the reviews. Well I can honestly say that the reviews on here are justified. First of all please note that there is no indoor swimming pool at this hotel despite one being advertised. We had 3 single beds in the room, and the head board that went across all 3 beds had a join in it, the electric sockets were at a slant (not flush to the wall), and the views from the window looked like a war zone. The front of the hotel looks good, but that is all. We spoke to the man on reception who denied that the hotel advertises an indoor pool, and kept pointing to the picture of a Jacuzzi, staff spoke very little English, and didn't seemed phased when we decided to check out of the Hotel after only staying for 3 nights instead of the 10 we had booked. Breakfast was a joke, a lady insisted we sat down and she served us chips for breakfast!!! which were cold, Turkish breakfast of Olives, Salami, Cucumber, Tomato's and Salad, we did manage to get some bread which we toasted. The only good thing about this Hotel was the location as you are right in the middle of the shops, there is a super market 2 doors down, and another across the road. You will however experience a lot of noise due to the location. When asked where we could smoke, the reception guy said to hang out of the Hotel room window. The room was nothing to write home about and definitely needs a refurb. I have stayed in cheaper Hotels that a far better than this one.

All the attractions and bazaars are not within walking distance, we had to either get a taxi or the tram to get to it.

• 258zenam (2/5): it deserves a zero star hotel - honestly I dont know from where to start, we stayed there for 1 week, they didn't change the linen there was a yellow spot on the sheet and it stayed with us the whole time!!! we run out of toilet papers for 2 days and they didn't put new one same issue for the shampoo!!! as for the breakfast its soo nasty, the cheese is rotten!! the egg is kept on being heated on and on for days its disgusting! a worm came running from the lettce... on and on the list is of no end What a SHAME!!!

Also like on the attached picture you can see that there are not good. Please look before you eat. Also the floor of the rooms are not clean. If you walk without socks, than you will get dirty foods. Merhaba, kahvaltidaki ekmeklerin cogu küflü idi. Bunu reklamasyon etdirdiken sonra bile garson iyi degil hemen misafirlere sinirlenerek karsiladi. Ekmekleri de taze ekmeklere karsi degil, baska bayat ekmeklere karsi degisdi. Odalarin yerleri silinmemis ve cok pis. Ayakkabisiz basinca corab lar cok pislendi.
• Maya_K25 (2/5): Terrible Hotel - Guys, do not ever make reservation at this hotel. I have stayed there for 2 nights and I should say, that the owners are very rude and greedy. We had to ask for hot water to make a tea ( as there is no kettle in the the room) and the owner asked for $5 for a cup of hot water! Also, this hotel is situated in the commercial area, meaning that it's located in the warehouses district of Istanbul, which is completely ruining the vision of beautiful Istanbul. But, the Istanbul itself is gorgeous! Everyone should go to this stunning city at least once in a lifetime.
• Amin1987 (4/5): Terrible selection!!! - We stayed there about one year ago for 6 nights. I choose this hotel for two main reasons. 1st:distance from metro station and 2nd: distance from grand bazaar. But I thought other things is so so. Unfortunately it was a mistake. When we arrived to hotel I saw a man spoke with reception about their room. He said he slept and in a moment he feels motions on his body. Then he found many insects on his bed and he want to change their room and they didn't agree. After that we checked in and when we reach to our room we found a room with two single bed while we are couple. They didn't care about our problem. Staff English is so terrible even main reception. The district is very bad. It's crowded even after 24:00 but we are uneasy when walking around hotel. Air condition system isn't work well. The window view is a old building which is a dress workshop. By the way my main reasons for selection of this hotel are the only positive things about it plus the upper floor restaurant. It's really feels good when we have our breakfast there. Totally I think I'll never go there again.
• 701ruxandrad (2/5): Marmaray Blue Hotel - It is the worst hotel I could ever have stayed at.The presenation pictures are not true!The same breakfast every morning, a terrific sight from the restaurant!I asked for some ice but they didnt have, also I have asked for a little teaspoon but they hadn’t.Too much noise, to much noisy arabian tourists.In the room, the air conditioning have started alone in the night and the drawers was broken. No parking nor in front of the hotel neither in the back of the hotel.There is not possible for a hotel to look like this, even more in a capital!

Air condition is controled by reception and they turn it off during most hours of day and night. We frequently want them to turn it on. Each time they say OK, but do nothing.
• ahmed from USA (10/5): Nice hotel - 5 minute walk to the tram and metro station which Can take you anywhere in the city. Also 5 minute walk to yenkipi ferry boat where you can take a day trip to bursa. Plenty of choices for food within walking distance. Very clean and comfortable. If you are a family you can just pick a taxi outside the hotel to anywhere. All taxis use taximeter for fare which will be very cheap if you are a group.
