• GIANROBERTO (1/5): da dimenticare - l'hotel se cosi possiamo chiamarlo era sprovvisto di ogni confort, l'aria condizionata accesa era paragonabile ad un elicottero, la doccia con il soffione pieno di calcare e a mala pena usciva l'acqua, tubo della doccia quasi staccato dal muro, la tv era quasi staccata dal muro e il personale completamente incompetente non sapevano risponde a nessuna domanda. per motivi di lavoro sono dovuto andare via 3 giorni prima ho chiesto il rimborso del parcheggio, la sera prima della partenza mi dicono che non c'era nessun problema ma invece al momento della partenza mi viene negato quanto detto prima. sconsigliato!

Also, the WiFi isn’t consistent. Luckily there are stores across the road to purchase bathroom amenities.

Camera piccola ma accettabile se non fosse per un faro sulla parete esterna dell'hotel che illuminava tutta la camera, poiché mancava mezza persiana al balconcino, e, per giunta una botola sulla strada che sbatteva ad ogni macchina di passaggio. Inoltre, pagare €30,oo tassa di soggiorno a me è sembrato eccessivo e se si aggiungono altri € 20,oo per mettere l'auto 2 notti nel cortiletto,per giunta la terza notte non disponibile per noi poiché già era prenotato da altri ospiti. L'alternativa per l'ultima notte era, arrangiarsi sulla strada o un parcheggio privato, a dir loro, poco distante.

• Kevin (1/5): A very honest, disappointing experience - There were very good restaurants in the area such as Carminiello for pizza, Pasticceria Galiero for pastries, and Pizzeria La Nuova for pasta. Dog Hot had great sandwiches as well. Taking the bus was effective at getting into the Naples city centre. Naples was a good city to visit, but I would highly recommend going elsewhere for accommodation. The accommodation and the room were NOTHING like the photos, the room provided had a broken bedside light, bedside stands hanging on to the wall by a nail (I would not feel comfortable leaving anything of weight of risk of it breaking), the towel hanger in the bathroom was also hanging on the wall unstable, there was a handtowel (small towel) on it and it was already at risk of breaking. The shower had mould growing within the side of the shower/shower door that was not properly cleaned. The "Hotel Barbato" pillows left on the bed were stained and had not been washed. The blanket that was on the bed also had further stains, with no cover over the blanket. There was an exposed electrical outlet that was not usable. The hotel is not passable as a 4 star hotel, I had booked accommodation for several nights, although they provided two "soap/shampoo" sachets in the size of a single use ketchup. I had to continuously ask the staff for further single use samples. Furthermore, the hotel is on the main strip of Secondigliano, which is a busy strip, so there is high noise every night. I had recorded a video of these findings but have just attached some photos from the video. The first red flag was whilst I was checking in - the front desk girl had told me I needed to bring the key back when I "left" for the day. This is a clear safety issue, and the hotel should have spare keys (if they need to do room service, etc.)
• Verified traveler (2/5): please dont stay here trust me - I dont suggest anyone to stay here First My rental car was parked on the street infront of the hotel and was STOLEN from me and ended up ruining completely the rest of my trip . The hotel said there was parking available in the listing but there was absolutely nothing ! Wich i didnt like the fact they put these options wich they didnt have. I would of never stayed here knowing there was no parking. Second the shower head was not working. The shampoo and body wash was the cheapest you can buy. Third : your in the guetto of napoli they should show abit more pictures of the surroundings very missleading.

I had the window open to let the smell of mold out. But the cleaning people kept closing it and putting on the heater. The lights next to the bed didn't work. The plug next to the bed was broken. The bed is very hard. There was a comforter on the bed with no cover. There is a fridge that ismt that cold. Also a safe that can be taken out it's not stuck in the cupboard. No tea or coffee in the room

On a map, the location seems convenient, but it’s not that great if you’re trying to get to the city center because the busses do not run on schedule. Being closer to a metro would be preferred when moving around Naples. The room also had a broken fridge and tv but at least they were able to call a technician for the next day for the fridge. However, since we did not know about the fridge being broken until after we came back with leftovers, we had to ask them to leave it in their employee fridge for the night. When we went back for it the next morning, the front desk staff was different from the day before, and he could only give us back half of our food because the other bag was missing. Another the biggest problem was the hole in the shower ceiling that would drip water after every shower. The service was also hit or miss depending on who you got. When we first tried to report the broken fridge, it felt very difficult to communicate with them in English, even when we pulled up Google translate for her to use. The hotel itself isn’t terrible (minus the broken fridge and ceiling) so if you can speak Italian and don’t plan on going too far from the hotel area, it is worth staying here for the price

Nowhere near 4* standard as advertised.

Notice, that breakfast in B&B means 1 croissant and 1 little cup of coffee ! There was 1 plastic chair in the room, but it was broken. Cleaning was ok.

• Bop666 (10/5): Hotel Barbato-Naples Italy - The location was certainly convenient. A short walk from wonderful food and dessert establishments. A short public bus ride to the city's main train hub. The owners were extremely hospitable, the rooms were very clean and fulfilled all my requirements. In a charming edifice to boot. Wished I could have stayed longer, and would certainly return !
• Bala Aditya (2/5): - There is absolutely nothing good about this property. After complaining I was moved to a diff room but that was as bad as the other. Noisy, dingy, untidy. It looked like an old tiring building with lots of renovation work needed. No proper shower doors, toilet seats, rusty shower, hollow electric switches, sockets, aircon made noise all night. Lot of traffic noise as the rooms are facing the main road. Never ever going back there. If you still have free cancellation then go ahead and find another place even otherwise do the same.
• juliaaW147ZY (2/5): Very disappointing - Our room didn’t even have a view! There was a blacked out skylight which didn’t open and the room stank of cigarette smoke. No mattress cover and not all the lights worked, which is essential when you’re literally paying to stay in a box! We checked out as soon as we could and found a beautiful place in the heart of Naples.
• donnamA4885MW (2/5): Stay only if you have to. - I am staying here before my flight home early in the morning. The toilet or the air conditioner isn't working. I have reported them to the afternoon reception and they are still not working properly. I just reported them for the third time and the reception waved me off. There are holes in the bedspread and curtains. I asked for a page printed and they have been putting it off all day. Unless there is absolutely nothing else, do not stay here.
• Daniel (8/5): - For the price, this hotel is completely fine. Our room had a small balcony, which was nice, and a large bathroom. There was no minibar as advertised. Overall, branding themselves as a "luxury hotel" is a really far reach.
• Valentine (2/5): - 4 stars… more -4 stars. Please note this hotel is located in the middle of a shady neighbourhood, aka very local outskirt area where no one speaks english and tourist girls are cat called. We can hear everything in the street, if someone smokes in the common entrance downstairs OUTSIDE, you WILL smell it in your room. Then again looks like smoking in your room is common due to the ashtray in ours. There is mold in the shower, no toilet seat, and the deluxe room barely has light due to less than half of the lightbulbs functioning. To top it all, staff is not friendly. If you do book it, stick to the R5 bus from the train station and google maps to know which stop to get off.

The bed was very uncomfortable, the room was dirty, the staff would play loud music on their phones in the lobby. There was no toilet seat and the boiler wouldn’t stop making loud noises. There were fireworks on at midnight.

Far from city centre, various issues with our stay. - no wifi - ac was dripping onto the bed - sat down on the chair and it broke - very angry shower, made a mess in the bathroom. - included breakfast was just one beverage and pastry. Worst croissant I’ve ever eaten and had to pay extra for second coffee. - hotel was filled with cigarette smoke - balcony opened only onto a grate. Fine enough but not as comfortable as I would’ve liked.

• Robert (5/5): very poor - The booking was made for 18 o 19 April weeks before. I still brought proof of the booking and even my bank statement that clearly showed the payment was made to Booking.com. We have stayed in this hotel about 10 times before. It is easy access from the airport so we can make a fresh start the next day to get to our holiday house 5 hours away. When we arrive tired at 11 pm. There was no room for us. The night care man did not have a clue . He had been watching a Napoli football match with some locals. After 30 minutes off moving papers back and forward ,he called the boss , who came with his wife to see what was going on. Still no solution to be found . We were getting more and more agitated and must have shown this. We were not in the mood to look somewhere else in Naples at this time, and started to consider having a few hour sleep in the hired car before taking off to our house Finally after more than an hour they pulled a small room out a hat 5 yards from the office door. It was there al the time. Why did they refuse to give it to us in the first place???? The next morning a young girl appeared that we have seen several years before. She was the only one that apologised for this cock up, and made sure that we got some breakfast before we left. Not a pleasant start of our holiday.
