Guest Reviews
- Ken (10/5): - My stay was very nice. The host was very friendly and attentive. Great location for walking and shopping perfectly located for easy access to transportation. The room was simple and clean.
- Irina (8/5): GREAT LOCATION....GOOD RELAX - B&B AUGUSTEO LOCATES VERY CLOSE TO METRO STATION "TOLEDO" IN HISTORICAL PART OF NAPLES, THEREFORE, EVERYONE WHO STAYS THERE OR WALKS ON VERY NARROW STREETS SHOULD BE READY TO SHARE THESE STREETS WITH MANY MOTORBIKES. OUR AVERAGE SIZE ROOM HAD SMALL BALCONY, BIG BED, EXTRA SMALL BED, BIG CLOSET AND ALWAYS WAS VERY CLEAN. WE HAD ITALIAN BREAKFAST, WHICH WAS BROUGHT TO US EVERY MORNING AT SELECTED BY US TIME. OUR HOSTESS WAS VERY SWEET YOUNG WOMAN, WHO ALWAYS WAS READY TO ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS AND HELP US. WE HAD A VERY GOOD TIME IN THE CITY AND AT B&B.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent location and amazing staff - Wow! The location is close to the center, many small family restaurants and the Port and only 300 metres from the Toledo subway (M train) which connects to Garabaldi which links to the Pompeii/Sorrento train (Circumvesuvian). Gaia, told us about this route to Pompeii which saved us lots of time and $$. We were sad we had to skip what would have been an amazing included breakfast because we wanted to get to Pompeii early. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience here. Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Anfahrt war herausfordernd, ansonsten alles ok
- Margherita (10/5): Un' ottimo B&B!
- Lisa (10/5): - This was a great place to stay. The owner Senora' Loredana & her daughter Gyia are the nicest people.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nettes Zimmer im Zentrum von Neapel - Eine Woche im B&B Augusteo verbracht.Das B&B Augusteo liegt sehr Zentral man kann viele Sehenswürdigkeiten per Fuß erreichen.
- Susan (8/5): Close to Teatro San Carlo - Close to Teatro San Carlo. Noisy if you need to leave the windows open. Consider the season. Well-run, clean, excellent staff.
- Cecilia Delgado (8/5): Very clean and good location - We have a very nice room for the price we pay. Everything was clean. This place is located in a nice neighbor.. we didn't have no problem walking at night. The Main Street is very close and the ametro too.. The Castello Nuovo is not far you can walk from there . The Lady is very helpful and nice
- Mabel (6/5): Rowdy neighborhood - Finding the place was easy and it wasn't too far from the metro station. However the neighborhood was shoddy and rowdy. You can hear the motorcycles running until about 2 am. I know what time it'd end, the time I could get some sleep. It sounded like a motor cross race. The stairs to the third floor are steep and using the lift is claustrophobic. Only one person and one small luggage can fit. The room was clean and spacious. The attendant does not speak English but we managed somehow.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The owner is available and eager to help. The room is spacious and comfy. The location is extremely convenient and central, but a bit noisy at night with local traffic.
I highly recommend this place! The position is fantastic, just few step to the Toledo street. The room was big, bright, comfortable and nicely furnished. I have got sick and the landlady was very helpful and nice with me.
- Mary (10/5): Quiet Bed and Breakfast in the Spanish Quarter - The woman who manages the bed and breakfast is very sweet and accommodating. Every morning she brought me a fresh-baked croissant and cappucino to my room. The room was very large, it seems as if it has been converted from a private residence, so the ceilings are very high and it is comfortable and airy, with plenty of light. Conveniently located, and everything was clean. Recommended.
- Brendan (10/5): Heart of the Naples - Large clean rooms (with balcony). Friendly and honest service. Recommend
- Noemie (6/5): Well located B+B but dingy - This B+B is very well located, at walking distance from the main Toledo avenue, metro station, shopping etc... The owner is very helpful despite not speaking any English. We were a family of 4, the room was spacious enough with a small fridge. However it didn't feel clean. The headboard was dusty and the bathroom dingy. The shower was dirty, doors were pretty much broken and the leak form the shower head was such that we had to unscrew it and hose ourselves down!
- Ben (8/5): Uitstekend b&b midden in bruisend deel van Napels. - Uitstekend verzorgd B&B door eigenaresse, veilig in hartje Napels.
- alebaida (8/5): b&b in ottima posizione - siamo stati 2 notti e ci siamo trovati benissimo....proprio dietro a uno dei viali piu belli di napoli...ci tornerei sicuramente....
- Andrea (6/5): Muy lindo b&b - Nos fue muy bien.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice B&B. - Stayed there for a workshop for six nights.
Pro: reasonable price, situated near the shopping street, friendly host, room size (European standard), close to public transportation (metro).
Buena conexión a Internet.
- Bernard (6/5): Hotel staff was friendly, bu there are problems - The hotel is in the heart of Naple's Quartieri Spagnoli, which is regarded as one of the most unsafe areas in the city, with the highest youth unemployment. The streets are quite narrow (we took a cab, which could only drop us around the corner from the hotel), and there are loiterers all over the place. After 10 PM, the area is downright scary. In addition, the hotel is in what seems to be an apartment building, and there rarely is someone at the front desk (the staff gave us a key to the room, keys to the building's two front doors (an outer door is locked in the evening), and a key to the management office. This did not make us feel safe at all. The staff brought us coffee to our room in the morning, which was a really great touch, but the rest of the breakfast consisted of dried bread in sealed plastic bags and fruit juice in cartons. I would not call that breakfast by any hotel standard. Another problem is that no member of the staff seems to be speaking any language other than Italian. To be fair, the staff is very friendly, they try to help guests as best they can, and our room was very clean and super spacious. Moreover, the hotel is just a few short blocks away from one of the busiest and most interesting areas of the city. Still, I can't recommend that place.
- BianchiSkier (6/5): OK B&B, but speak Italian if you need help - This was a good hotel, but be aware of a few things. First, this is in the Spanish Quarter, which is convenient to downtown historic, transit, cultural and shopping areas. But if you've never been in Naples before (like us) you may be surprised and a bit threatened at the number of people and traffic packed into this area. Before you walk out the front door of the B&B, look both ways because there's no sidewalk; I almost got hit by a scooter who didn't see me leaving the entrance.
We also found it difficult to get assistance from the staff. After we checked in, we had a hard time finding anyone. And when we did, they didn't speak English. Good thing that I had a tablet computer with Google Translate! So we had to pantomime or use the translator to get questions answered like: what is the WiFi password? Can we drink the tap water?
- Chris (8/5): Great option. - It was just what we needed: a CLEAN, trustworthy, saferoom near the port, airport bus, etc. The neighborhood is pretty crummy, but hey, where in Naples isn't? Augusteo makes the mandatory night in Naples for Pompeii visitors not too bad at all.
- alex (10/5): exactly, close to all must see - next time ill be not looking for another hotel and visit it again
- Pete (8/5): Don't read a book by its cover! - We used this hotel for one night before we went across to the island of Ischia the next day. Finding it wasn't the easiest so prepare beforehand. It is off the main street of Via Toledo down a few backstreets with no signs. From the outside it looks like just another block of flats so not easy to find. Once inside though and up the narrow spiral stairs, the actual hotel is really nice. Everything was clean and tidy and our room was spacious. A little noisy from the streets down below, but to be expected in the middle of Naples! I think a Mother and her Son run the place. Both are very friendly and likeable. The lady doesn't speak much/any English. The guy does though and both were very helpful. They bring a hot drink in the morning and the continental breakfast (packets of biscuits/croissants) is already in the room. We wanted to explore a bit of Naples the next day so we left our cases in reception after we had checked out. A computer with free internet was also on hand. The hotel is about half a mile from the port of Beverello.
- Lau (10/5): great place for everyone....... - This is a lovely place. I really felt welcome and save for the difficulty in finding the place - the pic they show is NOT where the B&B is - I have not complaints.
I recommend it. I'd most definitely stay there again.
- Jan (10/5): Perfect location - Excellent
- Verified traveler (8/5): close to center - Nice place, clean, people are friendly. The location is good but the hotel is hard to find...
- Hjorth (10/5): ottimo - A very nice Bed and Breakfast that I highly recommend to other travellers. Really nice rooms, not italian style at all. Very clean, and the lady of the B&B was really nice. Coffee of your choice is brought to the room every morning. It is very near to the biggest shopping street and to the boats for the islands, which is good. But one should always go towards the big street, and not deeper into the small streets of where the B&B is, though it can be tempting. There is a lot of noise, but it is part of the charm, when one comes to Napoli.
- Priscilla (6/5): B&B Augusteo - Staff were friendly, but desk was unstaffed much of the time. Wifi was down all 3 days we were there & we were depending on it for business at home & to make bookings for the rest of our trip. Shower so cramped I (a smaller than avg Amer female) couldn't easily raise my arms to shampoo.
We found the neighborhood friendly & you can't get any more convenient to many of the sights.
Whether one would like this depends on expectations. It really didn't meet ours.
- Deborah (10/5): B&B Augusteo - gem in Spanish Quarter - I would highly recommend this B&B. Our hostess Anna is genial and gracious and took care to provide a positive experience in the crazy, truly Italian city of Napoli. The B&B is conveniently located just within the border of the Spanish Quarter, 2 small streets from Via Toledo and the funicular to Vomero neighborhood. This location is not for night owls -- young women should not wander the streets in the immediate vicinity after dark if they are deserted. The B&B itself is very safe and spotlessly clean.
- Michelle (10/5): B&B Augusteo - reasonable and very comfortable - We loved our stay in this friendly clean B&B, the only negative point was that on our last night we were told that the hotel did not accept cards, cash only. This left us with the difficult task of running around Naples and transfering money over to different accounts so that we could withdraw the amount needed for our 8 nights. If only they had mentioned this at the outset I would have come prepared with euros from the UK, where I would have no bank charges and a better exchange rate! Everything else was fabulous and the location was superb!
- n (8/5): lovely B and B in the heart of Naples - We really enjoyed our stay at the B&B Augusteo. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and bright although a bit small. Breakfast was served in our
room with fresh coffee, however fresh fruit and fresh pastries would have been nice. The location is great.
We really felt like we were residents of Naples!
- Ronaldo (10/5): Must see inside! - Very good place to stay in Naples. They neighborhood does not look good, specially at night, but once inside this is a great place. Staff is very friendly (they waited us until past midnight), everything is new and clean in the rooms. At walking distance to ferry to Capri. Wi-Fi available
- Erica (10/5): Highly recommended! Exactly like this pictures - I was surprised and amazed at how wonderful this place was for the price. The rooms were exactly like the pictures. Very large, clean and comfortable. The service was also great. The hotel staff was very friendly and tried to help us in any way they could.
For the breakfast there was a basket of mixed pastries and biscuits. They would ask the previous night what sort of coffee beverage you would like and at what time . The next morning they would deliver the coffee at the time. We had lattes delivered at 9, it was wonderful. They also brought us fresh fruit and juice.
There is a lot of shopping and restaurants in the area so it made for a pleasant evening and morning just to walk around and see everything. It is pretty easy to find, just basically just down a main street from the train station. My boyfriend and I decided to walk, which wasn't bad at all. It took about 35 minutes or so. But there is also a bus that goes to a piazzza near the hotel. I can't remember which one, but I know the hotel could tell you. I would highly recommend this hotel!
