- Ian (8/5): - We chose this hotel because we wanted to have a balcony with an acropolis view and it was great. Hotel team are friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean and comfortable. It was listed with a bar and restaurant but it was closed so just be aware that the only time the rooftop terrace is used is for breakfast, you can sit there but there is no service. The area is blighted by graffiti which is a shame but there are some good restaurants there and we had a great time.

- Vannesa (6/5): - We arrived late for the check in almost midnight and the guy at the front desk was really nice. The property is located in a very steep street where most taxis don’t like to go up and drop off at the bottom of the hill then have to go up through a really high street stairs or the steep alley, the building is old but clean, the bathroom is really small that an overweight person will definitely not fit in the little shower, the tv didn’t work and when asked the other guy at the front desk he just said he didn’t know and to try to get the remote closer and see if it works (it didn’t) breakfast was ok but for 9 euros is not worth it. The best part of the hotel is the view from the rooftop that you can see the acropolis from there. The buildings around are full of graffiti but i guess that’s part of the culture and we felt safe walking around day and night.
- Thierry (10/5): - The hotel is a bit isolated, but that does provide with some quietness, and the little square behind is a nice place to sit or to climb to have a nice view on the city. It's also close to some bus routes, so easy to travel around by bus mainly. Close to main places by foot. Breakfast is nice and the terrace offers a fantastic place to enjoy. Probably one of the best price-to-quality ratio in the city.

Our hostess was equally wonderful and accommodating. They go the extra distance to make sure your stay is comfortable and relaxing. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay in Athens City Center.

Wijk is niet toeristisch, veel studenten, bijzondere types en graffiti. Heerlijk gegeten, geen toerist food, maar tussen de locals. hotel ligt wat hoger op een heuvel. om er te komen moet je een hoge steile trap nemen. daar zitten de hele dag en avond wat vreemde figuren. ik zou er als vrouw alleen niet langs durven in het donker. maar met zn tweeën was het prima.

- Mehdi (10/5): Bon établissement avec vue sur l'Arcropole - Très bonne pioche cet hôtel, on y a passé 3 jours et c'etait vraiment agréable. Une navette nous a été organisée depuis l'aéroport et c'etait confortable à 2h du matin ! Emplacement à 20min a pied du centre ville et de nombreux restaurants pas loin. Le gros plus est la terrasse en rooftop avec vue sur l'Acropole pour les petits dej et les aperos.

- Dianne (10/5): - Excellent friendly staff! This was our first stop on a tour of Greece and coming straight from the airport - it was great to arrive at a nice clean and cool room. It is a quick 7 min walk to the national museum of archeology where you can pick up the hop on hop off bus. For our 2 night stay in Athens it was perfect. A delightful bakery at the bottom of the street with fresh treats and sandwiches, refreshing coffee and super friendly staff - it made us feel so welcome to a new country for our family holiday! The restaurant down the steps in a converted primary school was so picturesque, friendly staff and amazing first meal in Greece and we were off to a great start!

There is an elevator at the property. I paid 7 Euros for breakfast and it was really good. Lots of choice from the buffet, I would certainly recommend. Bathroom a little on the small side but all else was good.

Parking was dreadful and the one way systems made the simplest journey cumbersome. I suggest this hotel would be ideal if you were without a car, perhaps that may be true for the whole of Athens. Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet fine at 7 Euro. Close proximity to some very good eating places

- C (8/5): - We missed our first night at the hotel, due to the weather and ferry cancellations, but the staff was able to hold our reservation. To compensate they offered us free breakfast, which I thought was really nice. It is a bit hard to get to on foot, but it's a beautiful hotel. We had a great experience. The room was clean and seems recently remodeled, and it was very comfortable with a great view from the balcony. We were happily surprised that there was farmer's market on the next street over all day Saturday, and great restaurants and cafes within walking distance. It was ~30 min walk to the Acropolis. We enjoyed our 1 night stay, and were sad we didn't get to stay longer (darn weather!).
- Milana (10/5): Love Athens - It is very nice place, nice clean room, the only thing was that it might be hard for guys to fit into the shower in this specific room but anything else we very very happy about.It is 20ish min walk to the monastiraki and the city center and we like to walk so location was good as well.
- Mathilde (8/5): Hôtel économique été sympa pour 1 jour à Athènes - Hôtel dans quartier paraissant un peu craignoss mais pas du tout au final, très bon point la réception 24/24 si vous arrivez tard de l´aeroport, le taxi coûte 54 euros après minuit de l´aéroport a l’hotel. Nous avons visité l’acropole en partant de l´hotel à pied et avons mis 35 min en passant par des super belles rues Chambre impeccable service au top Petit déjeuner pour 7 euros avec vue sur Athènes et l’acropole attention cependant les pigeons essayent de vous voler votre nourriture quand vous vous éloigner de votre assiette !
- Verified traveler (8/5): Mysigt hotell med speciellt läge - Hotellet i sig är mysigt och rummen har små balkonger där man kan koppla av efter dagen. Frukostbuffén serveras på en terrass med utsikt över Akropolis, där man kan sitta både inne och ute. Terrassen har man tillgång till även övriga tider och frukostbuffén är prisvärd och kan rekommenderas. Hotellet ligger i ett mycket bohemiskt område, men det finns många roliga restauranger och caféer i närheten som man inte hittar någon annanstans i Aten. Eftersom hotellet ligger på en höjd dit bara småvägar leder samt att det är relativt långt till tunnelbana, vill jag rekommendera att ta taxi när man har packning (annars går det bra att gå).
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not recommend at all. - If I ever knew that I had to climb up a slope or walked up 60 steps to reach this hotel, I would never pick this place. Poor location & neighbourhood, full of homeless people and some were living in the same slope and you could hear noisy music & dog kept barking at night. We had the quadruple room with balcony and there two beds in the attic of which the air con did not reach that area. It was so stuffy up there & 2 of us ended up having headache due to poor air circulation. When this issue was raised to their staff, she said there had never been any complaints before & she could do nothing. The bathroom was not the same shown on the pictures, of course much worse.
- Geraldine (6/5): - The surrouding is not very nice...it has nothing around which is a big disadvantage. If ever you go to the centre, bring the hotel card with you ( it has got dìrections on the back) because taxi drivers many taxi drivers do not even know the hotel.
- Dirk (10/5): Great hotel - Recieved a very warm welcome. The outside looked a bit strange but the inside is al new. The room was very clean and the bathroom was like a 5 star hotel. At close distance there a many good restaurants and pubs. I certainly will book there again.

The small feel and couple run hotel was a special way to experience Athens. The rooftop seating area was amazing. The only negative was the location, as it felt a little bit hard to get to and out of the way. Still not a bad walk to the city center however.

- Stephanie (10/5): An absolutely fabulous hotel in a wonderful area - The hotel was amazing. It was spotlessly clean, and the people who ran the hotel were wonderfully hospitable. I felt very safe walking around the area at night, and, hands down, it is the best area in Athens if you like the artistic and non-touristy. The hotel was very affordable, too. I would stay here now any time I go to Athens.

- Eliza (8/5): Nice, basic hotel in a cool area - We had a great stay at the Dryades - we stayed in the budget room and though it was small, it was clean and fine for our needs as we went out to eat. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Would stay again!

- Bess (10/5): Great experience! - Located in neighborhood with loads of character, staying at this hotel was pleasant experience. The staff is terrific, especially the very knowledgeable and helpful Nikos. The breakfast was fabulous. If we ever come back to Athens, we will return to hotel.

- Anne (8/5): Hôtel à prix modéré et sympa - Nous avons séjourné à deux reprises à cet hôtel: cinq nuit au début de mai et une nuit le 25 mai. Séjour très agréable avec petite terrasse liée à la chambre et une grande terrasse sur le toit pour le petit déjeuner avec vue époustouflante sur Athènes et l'Acropole. Profitez de l'excellent petit déjeuner (7 €), abondant et varié. Le quartier est plutôt anar, donc sympa, avec de bons petits restaurants à prix doux. Mais il faut de bonnes jambes pour grimper jusqu'à l'hôtel (la vue a un prix).
- Barbara (6/5): Nice on the inside, great price - The welcome and help from the reception was great. The room was perfectly nice. There are lots of local restaurants that are very good. The only problem is the outside approach. It is very littered and full of grafitti and makes the whole area look bad. That being said, it seemed safe enough walking around, with university students and locals, and the room was just fine. It's a shame the locals litter and it's a shame the city doesn't do more to pick up trash.
- Andrew (10/5): Great location and staff! - If you are looking for a quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Athens, the Dryades/Orion isthe place for you. Very peaceful on the Strefi Hill (nice taverna there, open weekends mainly), and some of the staff have been there since we started going there over 40 years ago. It has had various upgrades over the year and is now very comfortable and always clean. More facilities than you would normally get at this class of hotel, The breakfast on the terrace, thanks to Joanna, is brilliant, with the best view in Athens!

- Marco (10/5): Great hotel in a funky/ cool neighborhood - For me this place couldn't have been better. I loved the neighborhood. It's an alternative neighborhood with rock and roll record stores and bars, little cafes, book stores, obviously not a tourist area but everyone was friendly. Don't be put off by grittiness. I really enjoyed it and felt perfectly comfortable. There is a farmers market on the street below the hotel on Saturday. Several small but adequate grocery stores near by. It's about a ten minute walk to the nearest metro, once there you have access to the entire city. It is all up hill back to the hotel but because of this my room had a nice view of the city. I could see the Parthenon from my room and on a clear day the sea as well. For the price. I'm not sure you can beat this little hotel.
- Gretchen (10/5): hospitable value hotel in charming Exarchia - While this hotel may not be for everyone, I found it to be ideal for my needs. Staying in Exarchia was an awesome experience. I loved the colorful neighborhood,(graffiti everywhere), and I felt safe enough walking around as a woman alone, (one should always you caution, of course). It was a great opportunity to stay where many tourist do not go, yet I could easily get to the metro and all of the tourist places easily. My room was rather small, but I had a view of the park and it was a great value. The hotel staff was friendly, extremely accommodating and helpful. There are many cheaper ways to get a breakfast, but I highly recommend the 6 euro breakfast on the rooftop. The view is amazing and you can eat like a king! Many other reviews complain about the hill, but how else do you not feel guilty about eating tons of feta cheese and drinking Greek wine?!? It was really not that bad, (and I carried my luggage). Overall, I had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel!

- Steve and Sonya (8/5): Nice room in a quiet location next to wooded park. - Our host, Dimitri, carried our heavy duffelbags like they weighed nothing at all down a stairway, through a locked gate to a sunny patio area where our room was. It was very tidy and clean with pictures on the walls, a small refridgerator and a coffee brewer with cups, saucers, spoons, sugar and teabags. The bathroom had a full shower and curtain although the shower fixture was different than others we had seen in Europe and hard to adjust and figure out at first. We did not yru the breakfast buffet but the menu looked extensive. We did take our dinner up to the Orion's cafeteria deck with the gorgeous view of the entire city and the Aropolice. The Orion also provided potable filtered water for drinking since the water in all the rooms and perhaps all of Athens, is not fit to drink.

We then went to the Dryades Hotel and it was fantastic, really nice and helpful staff, a clean and pleasant room and really accessible to the city centre.
- Hannah (8/5): Great value for the price - Staff was very friendly and accomodating, very willing to hold your baggage for hours after checkout. You can tell it's a family owned place...or at least has the feel of one. Breakfast is 6 euro, but sufficient, and with a nice view. Once I figured out where I was in relation to the city, it was easy to direct cabs, and while I didn't spend any time in the neighborhood, it seemed safe enough. Love the 24 hour a day check in, as my sister and i arrived at 3am (a week after I stayed there solo) as our ferry back from Santorini was delayed.
- Leigh (10/5): Friendly stay - This hotel is a little bit out of the center of town, but it was a wonderful stay. The owners and all the staff was so welcoming and friendly, I would stay again. Free wifi, optional breakfast, very helpful staff. Our room was big. Tiny bathroom. But The view from our room of the Acropolis was unexpected. We could even see it from the bed. And the rooftop view was amazing. It's close the Lycabettus Hill and it is beautiful at night. Sitting up there eating gelato, which we got at a yummy place down the street, and seeing the lights of the city and Acropolis was amazing! The neighborhood seemed a bit scary, but it was wonderful. Walking around at night, I felt totally safe. And all the street cafés were full of life. It's about a 30 minute walk to Syntagma Square, which is a wonderful way to see part of the city. There is a bit of stairs back up to the hotel, but good exercise. Plus it I'd directly across from Stefi Park, which is lovely and the view from the top is worth the time. Yes, I want to thank everyone there for making our stay special.
- Prober (6/5): - Reception staff generally helpful with the exception of the overnight guy. Location is on the edge of the dodgier part of town but looks worse than it is; lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Half hour walk to the main historical sites. Great roof terrace with views over the city and towards the Acropolis. Room small but clean and functional. TV did not work but was fixed next day. Recommended as a clean low budget hotel.
- Alex (10/5): Fantastic staff and an extremely clean hotel - Fantastic hotel. It really should be rated 3 starts. It was cleaner than most of the 3 and 4 starts hotels I have stayed at in the USA. Our room had a beautiful view of the Lofos Likavitou hill out of the balcony. Breakfast was very fresh and the view of the acropolis from their cafeteria on the 3rd floor is almost worth paying for the hotel. The refrigerator had complimentary bottle of water int the room, and they had a filtered water refill station downstairs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they provided us with a map, gave us a few walking, buss and metro options of how to get downtown and even provided me with an umbrella when it started to rain. I should mention that the hotel is a bit far from the closest metro if you are dragging luggage so make sure you get a Taxi getting there with luggage, otherwise walking to the metro and back with a backpack is absolutely not a problem. The neighborhood was a bit interesting, it looks a bit intimidating at first but we felt perfectly safe, granted we never went out at night but during the day it was mostly students and we never had a problem. Overall fantastic staff, very very clean and quiet place and an amazing price, I will stay there again if I ever come back to Athens.

We were met as we pulled up in the taxi, given a clean and spacious room, and an exceptional recommendation for dinner. During our two night visit, the whole office was pleasant and accommodating with out many questions for sites, directions, and tours. We wish we would have taken advantage of the full kitchen available for use, but there was just too much to see and do!
