- Victoria_Rogue (10/5): Wonderful! 🌅 - The hotel is wonderful. It's conveniently located, just a few steps from the sea. The food is delicious, but keep in mind that drinks are only free at breakfast, even if you have all-inclusive. The pool is clean, and there's also a jacuzzi, a children's pool, and a slide. All the posters and notices are translated into Russian, as there are a lot of Russian speakers at the hotel. The only thing is that the UK power outlets in rooms are outdated and worn out.

Breakfast was great as the breads and eggs suited my daughter and I The evening meal was a struggle as the hotel did appear to cater for Eastern Europeans and the food was never hot. So our day consisted very predominantly of bread which was not ideal Advice is to take this into consideration when booking

It’s nice the hotel has a custom dinners with different countries cuisine. The beach is large and clean, seafront is extremely beautiful. As well there are public bus stops near, so you can easily get to Sharjah city, Dubai, even Abu Dhabi. We heavily suggest this hotel because of location and service.

- martinn31 (2/5): Extremely Disappointing Stay, Terrible food, Terrible smell - We stayed at Occidental Sharjah Grand and were extremely disappointed with practically every aspect of the hotel. The only positive was the beautiful, warm sea, which really has nothing to do with the hotel itself. From the moment we arrived, we noticed a strong musty smell throughout the hotel. While dirt was not highly visible, the odor was overwhelming and unpleasant. The rooms were standard, but the air conditioning was absolutely terrible—so loud that sleeping was impossible. Automatic temperature control did not work at all, and after trying it for several days, we stopped using it entirely. The view from the room could have been nice, but balconies were constantly covered in droppings from nesting pigeons. Drying clothes on the balcony meant they would get soiled. We had a “better room” with a sea view, but the balcony was unusable. Despite visiting the reception four times to request a room change to the ground floor, we were told it was being worked on, yet nothing was done during our entire 8-day stay. One receptionist, Harun, even avoided us when we approached, forcing us to explain everything again to other staff members. The smell in the room was so strong that after returning home, my wife had to wash our clothes four times to remove it. The sports bar also repeatedly smelled of garbage, while the main restaurant was the only place without odor issues. Food was another disaster. We booked all-inclusive, but meals were mostly inedible. Almost everything was over-spiced with strong Indian herbs and curry, including plain rice. Only once during lunch did we have a normal dish—roast duck. The selection was extremely limited, usually only 3–5 main dishes besides salads or garnishes. Our children mostly survived on fries with ketchup, and we had to order McDonald’s or simple pizza nearby because they were hungry. The “Italian night” was beautifully set up outside on the beach, but the food served was completely unrelated—kebabs and Russian-style beef instead of pasta, pizza, or traditional Italian dishes. Other themed evenings were equally disappointing. The pool was okay, but bar service was poor. Staff were often absent, and we had to wait long periods for drinks. Beach towels were given early in the morning and had to be returned to staff, meaning you could not keep them in your room. The beach sand was contaminated with cat feces, with cats freely roaming, sitting on loungers, or leaving waste nearby. In short: Sea: beautiful View: ruined by birds and balcony droppings Smell: musty and overwhelming throughout the hotel and rooms Food: very limited, mostly inedible, over-spiced Staff: particularly reception, unhelpful Pool/Beach: poor service, cleanliness issues This hotel does not meet even 2–3 star standards anywhere else in the world. We will never stay here again. Absolute disappointment.

- dzenopoljac (2/5): Shockingly Poor Service & Zero Accountability – Avoid This Hotel - We booked two Deluxe Sea View rooms with breakfast for October 31. Despite calling ahead and being told check-in was at 3:00 PM, the hotel had neither room ready when we arrived. My family and I waited in the lobby for 1 hour and 15 minutes after traveling from Dubai — no apology, no urgency, nothing. We finally received our rooms around 4:15 PM. The next morning, I asked for a one-hour late checkout due to the hotel delaying both rooms the previous day. Instead of acknowledging the delay, the manager on duty that day (around 10 am on November 1) responded with rudeness, blame, and zero professionalism, offering only one room and insisting the issue was because we “booked late.” Booking at 11 AM for same-day arrival does not justify a 4:15 PM check-in — and no one informed us of any delay in advance. To make things worse, the rooms had multiple operational issues: • Several electrical outlets did not work • AC unit was extremely loud and made sleeping difficult • Balcony area full of pigeons and noise all night • The towels were not changed in our rooms later Facilities were equally disappointing: • Restaurant refused service after 5 PM due to having the Halloween party later that evening — in a so-called resort property • Lobby pool table requires payment (20 AED for one hour!!!), which is ridiculous for this hotel category • Overall property feels old, worn, and has a musty smell • Finally, although they extended our stay for one hour, they did not extend the room locks so we had again to call, argue, and get upset when we couldn’t get our stuff back. The biggest problem isn’t even the outdated facilities — it’s the attitude, lack of care, and unprofessional behavior from that specific manager (unfortunately, I did not catch his name, but he worked the morning shift at 10 am on November 1, 2025). A hospitality business that refuses to take responsibility for its own delays and treats paying guests like an inconvenience should not be operating under this brand. There are countless better options in the UAE. Save your money and avoid this place — especially if you expect even basic standards of customer service and respect.

Every staff member we encountered was friendly and worked with a genuine smile, which made the atmosphere in the hotel especially pleasant. I would like to give special recognition to Harun and Manju, who stood out with their exceptional service. Their positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile made a big difference and left us with wonderful memories. The staff is very polite and always ready to help. The food is delicious and varied at all meals. The sea is warm, and there are plenty of sun loungers. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day. It's also important for me to have a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. That's why I liked that the hotel was alcohol-free, with no loud music or other noises. I could get a good night's sleep without any disturbances. So I liked everything, thank to the hotel!

We'll, its very good to have holiday for family for bisness trip. The weather that time was wonderful, not too hot. It's comfortable. The beach was so clean. It was my third visit the same hotel. The place save. About the reception The stuff very kind, friendly and hopefully. I would like to say thank you very much indeed to Mr Mena. He is very attention to every tourists. Also thank you to Abbasi, Harum are help any time if ask something. Location is save and around lots of interested places I like activities, often go to swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym if I need some help I had got it. Thank you giving us help to Farook, Ralaim and other stuff. Well, I would like to say thank you very much indeed to Mr Anil Kumar Singh and thank you all stuff especially to Maurice Kozma, Executive Chef, Laemar always smile and hopefully, she is very kind, George, Naveen are kind, hopefully , too. The Meena restaurant, we have food are delicious and different all the time. The rooms is clean, comfortable. Thank you to all stuff. Thank you to Narek for support for everything. Also I often go to Spa, thank you very much indeed to Surya. She is professional, I recommend Surya to all my friends and colleagues who like look after yourself. Зачем добавили какие-то непонятные Активити (зумба, дартс)? Всегда эмираты считались отдыхом премиум класса, тихим и спокойным, не доступным для пакетов! Во взрослом бассейне (глубиной 3 метра) постоянно купаются и орут дети, их никто не выгоняет, даже с матрасами и кругами, которые «немного» мешают. Еда слишком посредственная, раньше было лучше. Кондиционер воняет и не регулируется.

- Akram (4/5): The bathroom and overall Cleanliness was a minus - The cleanliness is not good. The bathroom floor coukd never get dry. The bathtub wouldn't let the water drain, so I had to not shower and wait till I get to a new hotel to shower. The sink was not draining either when I arrived and then it was fixed. The food is good though and the pool is good and deep (2.85m). The easy access to the beach was a plus too. Just wasn't satisfied with the cleanliness mainly and the bathroom.

We didn't even leave the table and like 5 staff circle us like detectives. We felt very embarrassed n harassed. I understand their's policy but it could have been handled differently. Pros - Gym was a definite bonus, everything you need to get a decent sesh in, pools great, beach access awesome, Cabanas super comfy, friendly staff, free shuttle to shopping malls is a pure gift!! and the breakfast buffet was fabulous. Con’s - weird smell in our suite, not sure what it was but we couldn’t get rid of it. The buffet dinner was shocking - I mean terrible! The only thing good about dinner was the dessert, which I’m not a big sweet eater but it was really the only thing on offer. All in all, a nice budget resort

Bathrooms require major renovations. There is mold in bathroom that needs to be addressed. I recommend remediation using bleach, then caulking be applied to tiles on all bathroom walls. Love the hotel location but needs some TLC.

TV channel not good very blurry where you can see image well. But I had my computer with Netflix so it was not a big deal for me.
