- Family Brannon (7/5): - The location was good and the hotel is okay. It felt as if we were staying in a residential block rather than a hotel.
Schrecklich
- Simone (8/5): - Very friendly staffmember at the lobby! Room was huge, comfortable bed. Didn’t feel extremely clean for 4 star hotel, but overall it was fine!

- Chiang Yin (6/5): Great location, good price, but pse bear with the property's idiosyncrasies - The location is excellent There are several strange practices in this place. They provide 2 Nespresso capsules for the ENTIRE stay which will NOT be replenished. You can buy at HKD10 per capsule after you have finished the two free ones. So this punishes longer stayers. Also no small face towels. Only mid size and large ones. The fixed shower head receptacle is such that the water jet is directed across the tub (too high) and not at the person taking the shower

- Steven (8/5): Great staff, brilliant location. - Great location in the brilliant area of Shueng Wan. Lovely, helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Nothing.
- Fred (7/5): For a short stay, it cannot beat the location! - Location is fantastic It’s actually very worn - we had torn towels with big gaping holes.
- Michael (9/5): A good place to explore the city - Our room was comfortable and clean.
We had a great stay.
There are some good bars and restaurants around.
The metro was easy to reach and so it was a great place to explore the city.
- Michael (9/5): - Nur Hongkong Steckdosen, keine USB oder EU Steckerdosen.....
- Monique (8/5): Small hotel, great location, good price. - Nice small horel at a great location. Close to metro stop. Very quiet at night. No breakfast facility but several options closeby to get good coffee and food. -
- Doris Ka Lai (8/5): It was pleasant and the staff were very polite and always helpful - Location was excellent. Easy access to public transport. Lots and lots of eateries around. The air conditioning system was very noisy. And there were renovation works going on

- YING (9/5): - 酒店位置极佳,离中环很近,马路对面就是码头,去澳门也方便。离地铁站口也很近,晚上休息也很安静,总之很满意
- Nicola (8/5): Well located, clean and comfortable serviced apartment - Excellent location just a 3/4 minute walk with cases to Sheung Wan station and not far from Central either. Room was well set up and large for Hong Kong with very comfy beds and pillows, good shower and bathroom, and clean. Yes it’s a bit tired round the edges but don’t let that put you off, I would not hesitate to stay again. The laundry was useful too after a few very hot days of walking. Staff were helpful. A few bowls for breakfast would have been useful. There were just a few plates provided but we could have perhaps asked for more if needed….and not enough coat hangers!
- Lee Lee (8/5): Overall the hotel is still a lot of good nice food around which u do not need to travle to eat . MTR is also nearby . Ro - Location is excellent. Rooms are big . They do not provide drinking water , room slippers, tooth brush and some other toiletries. Need to purchase .
- Hole (10/5): Wonderful long stay accommodation - The one bedroom apartment style room was perfect for our longer stay visiting family. The staff were very friendly, the laundry and gym were put to regular use
- Alison (9/5): -
- Garry (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mercer. - Great location.
Big comfortable bedroom and bathroom.
Good size TV and couch.
Close to MTR, restaurants, bars & Central
Big TV No cooking facilities.
Noisy AC.
Bedroom has clear glass dividing walls and doors
Gym didn’t have a working bike.
- Jose (1/5): - Good location. We had a decent stay at the Mercer but after we left the hotel, the following morning we received an email accusing us of taking a $70HKD (approx £7) tissue box from the room and telling us this would be charged to our card.
I am actually beyond words; being accused of theft is appalling. It is also simply not true. But because of this disgusting behaviour I now have to spend time online blocking my card from permitting any charges to this merchant.
We travelled hand baggage only and shopped, (not nicked) so every inch was spoken for in our 7 kilo hand baggage allowance. Shameful accusation.
I have NEVER been put in this position before and as a person of faith and fidelity, this has left me feeling very upset. I would not stay here again solely on the basis of this behaviour.

- Yu Hao (10/5): - Convenient location with many great food options within walking distance
- Ivan (10/5): -
- Tim (9/5): -
- Teresa (10/5): I definitely want to recommend to all my friends - Location is very good. For public transportation is very easy My only concern is the fridge is not working properly
- susan (7/5): -
- Leon (3/5): Good for a short stay and access to local food in Sheung Wan. - The location was definitely the only plus point. Access to lots of local eateries. Badly maintained. For that price point, you should be expecting some form or basic standards.
- William (10/5): Great location, excellent hotel. - Excellent location, great staff. This was the first hotel in HK that respected my USA schedule and didn't bother me during the day when I sleep and accommodated cleaning when needed. I'm sure I'll be back.
- Salem (1/5): Bad -
- Raluca (7/5): Good -
- Alan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Arthur (8/5): Very good - Washing machines are dated and ripped some of my clothes.
- Doug (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - Great Location, comfortable beds
- Erin (5/5): Kitchen was not very useful, excellent location - Excellent location
Large room for Kong Kong Kitchen had no utensils , cutlery etc. a single plate, single bowl , 2 cups and 2 mugs - not suitable for actual usage as a kitchen.
The room was worn, scratches, peeling wallpaper - could use a refresh.
Air conditioning was too loud to sleep with.
- Steven (10/5): Spacious hotel with friendly staff near MTR station - Overall fantastic experience:
- Extremely spacious and clean room
- Very close to MTR station (subway)
- Friendly staff who went above and beyond to help out
- Many restaurant options nearby Just one "personal preference" item:
- It would have been even better if the room is entirely without carpet
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Jazz (8/5): Excellent - The staff/cleaners,rooms were spacious ,location. Saving the enviroment does not mean skimpping out on basic face/hand towels had to purchse my own hand towel🤨.rooms are starting to need refreshing and more tv channels for when you need to relax after a hard days shopping and maybe a later check out time
- Teresa (10/5): Good place to relax and comfort - Very close to MTR. Lots of good food around there The staff is very helpful and pleasant
- Paul (6/5): Good location but disappointed with the overall room quality - Location was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was very spacious for Hong Kong.
The laundry room was also very welcome. The room was stated as a service apartment with a kitchen. This consisted of a microwave, coffee maker and kettle.
Cutlery was 1 big plate, 1 small plate 2 cups and 2 spoons. Also, coffee maker was not working. There were no plugs or charging points next to the bed although it was listed. The shower was a strange configuration, with the shower head located outside of the bathtub and angled towards the tub, so the floor gets very wet.
Also they do not provide hand towels or face cloths, only bath towels.
- Peter (4/5): I will rather avoid it next time, also the overall comfort is low. - The location is excellent; the accessibility and transportation connection is very convenient. All is close. The hotel does not have a restaurant or at least a cafeteria, and it does not provide breakfast. The price for accommodation is rocket high, but the service is not within this value.
- Keith (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (3/5): Avoid - The location The kitchen. You didn't get anything to cook with apart from a microwave. No cutlery, t towel, anything to wash up with. You just got 2 plates, glasses and cups, that's it, oh and a fridge. Plus the a/c didn't work
- Nicole (8/5): - Very good staff
- Shelley (8/5): Great value apartment-style hotel for short and long stays, well situated. - The property is a hotel with apartment-style accommodation. The apartment was comfortable, spacious, well-maintained and located very close to the MTR (less than 2 blocks). The windows were large with an open view of the city. The sitting room has a comfortable couch and TV and the small kitchen area was more than adequate, the Nespresso machine was a bonus not usually provided in HK. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom very spacious by HK standards. Plenty of restaurants and cafes in short walking distance. Other property facilities included a gym, communal sitting area and laundry facilities. Everything was in situ to make longer stays comfortable. Really priced well for HK.
- Mark (10/5): - Great location. 3 minute walk to subway station. Near great restaurants & clubs. Highly recommend !!
- Wiebke (6/5): Pleasant - Nice staff, good location, nice layout with living and sleeping separate. I liked they promoted no plastic so no free water but it was only 3HKD if you needed some. Horrible smell of cabbage from bathroom at times. Tired rooms as many have mentioned.
- Graeme (10/5): Great stay - All good Nothing
- Judit (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice, spacious apartment, great location. Hand towels, and cereal bowls would have been nice.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Yvonne (8/5): Very good -
- Carolyn D. (8/5): - The location was great. It was walkable to the MTR, close to restaurants and shops.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and spacious.
- Tibor (7/5): Good location, mediocre service - A great location and
We finally got a solution
Good wifi -rooms are not the size advertised on the website
-carpet was worn
-we got a disabled room with small basic basin with no mirror,
-there are no toiletries in the room, you can buy it separately . At least a tooth brush and a bottle of water for this price and hotel rating would be welcome
- hotel entry with 8-10 steep steps. Not convenient to arrive with bigger luggage
-there is only one towel per person in the room
- Ange (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Modern, clean property. Great laundry facilities.
- dstorey84 (8/5): Location, Location, Location - Our second visit to Hong Kong, the first time we stayed in Kowloon and this time enjoyed it much more due to the location of The Mercer. The location was ideal for all we wanted to do while in Hong Kong. It was also fairly close to the MTR so we used the Airport express and one stop on the MTR to reach the hotel.
The hotel is a bit tired but it was clean and comfy so ideal for what we needed.
- Clay (6/5): Hong Kong Food &Culture Trip - Location is good, close to the MTR (Sheung Wan) - within 5 min walk. Also, close to restaurants and major shopping area in Central (20+min walk with interesting street shops). Although the room is large (technically a suite), but we weren’t aware that this is more like a service suite as compared with a hotel. The room facilities were bare - no bathrobes, hand/face towels, in room slippers, bathroom utensils such as toothbrush, cotton buds.
Though the room has a kitchenette, it was a mismatch for us as we came to Hong Kong to explore the great food here.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sue (9/5): Superb - Great location. Large room. Really helpful staff
- Mert (10/5): Incredible stay and great staff. Very central as well! - The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!
- S (9/5): Superb -
- Joseph (5/5): Passable -
- Chantal (9/5): A great stay in a wonderful location - Great facilities and comfortable room. The design of the room meant that the power outlets were unusable. We had to improvise and only use one outlet at the desk as that was the only one that could fit the plugs. The other was under the bedside table to charge our electronics.
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (8/5): A Quiet and Convenient Location - The location of this apartment was excellent. Guests have access to everything that Hong Kong Central has to offer. The metro line is can be conveniently accessed within a few hundred metres of the hotel. The apartment was well air-conditioned and the bed was comfortable. The apartment didn't include basic amenities such as toothpaste. However, it is becoming more common for guests to bring their own amenities with them these travel days.
- Tjb25587 (5/5): Excellent 5 day short stay close to everything - The location was excellent, the property being a convenient 2 block walk from the Sheung Wan MTR station. The gym left a bit to be desired. The stationary bicycle was broken, and there wasn't even a bench to do exercises.
In addition, the property is not heated in the winter and our room got cold, although the front desk was happy to provide a space heater upon request.
- Karin (10/5): Would stay here again! - The location! I could pretty much walk to any of the major transport locations including the Peak and ferry terminals!
The staff were super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to accomodate my requests!
- Clare (9/5): Comfortable stay in a great location -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Decent stay, relatively convenient to MTR - Decent stay, typical room size for HK so no complains. Location is convenient near Sheung Wan MTR station. I’d suggest taking taxi to hotel from airport express station or airport as HK generally is hilly, however doable from train station (though train station has plenty of stairs). Check out is at 11am, however counter staff are helpful and may extend if required. Overall no complains, will stay here again if in HK
- MrWalker (4/5): Very much declined over years - Mercer used to be our favorite in Hong Kong in 2011-2015 when we frequently travelled there. Coming back 2024 for 4 nights, we are sorry to see it has declined in many ways. The location is still great, but the attentiveness of staff is gone, rather front desk staff is often close to rude, and have very little interest in helping out. The hotel is worn down and not well maintained, e.g.curtains broken, mould stains in ceiling and rusty bathroom drains. One unique benefit with Mercer is that many rooms are large, which we value and are willing to pay for. We booked a 38 m2 room (400 sq.ft), but initially were provided a small room of less than 25 m2. Complaining (in three levels of staff seniority…) we were after first night “upgraded” to a mini suite of 35 m2, still smaller than booked. No other compensation was offered. Sorry Mercer – we are definitely not coming back.
One more comment – they used to serve breakfast, but no longer so. You are referred to restaurants in vicinity
- Jingya (4/5): Disappointing -
- Serena (10/5): Exceptional - staff was friendly and helpful.
- Xin (7/5): Exceptional location with spacious executive room, albeit dated interior. - Room was quite big and sufficient, including separate spaces for living + dining, bedroom, wardrobe and toilet which included bathtub.
Service team was friendly and helpful, and cleaning team was diligent - wherever they could clean, it was clean. Dated interior with furnishing that is hard for cleaning and maintenance, and it was evident in our room on the 26th floor. Damaged wallpaper and shelf laminates, stained curtains and sofa, and floor vinyl was sticky. Staircase access only to lobby.
