• Rima (8/5): Nice place to stay in the middle of Sultanehmet - The hotel is in the best area just behind the Blue Mosque, we booked 2 rooms as a family, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely receptionist Dilruba who did her best to make us feel confortable. Naar, the lady who cleans was also very nice and very helping. The rooftop terrace has amazing view but they dont serve breakfast, but they allowed us to bring our breakfast and make our coffee and tea. Kettle was also available in the rooms. One room had fridge, the other room did not have. The bad thing is that the second day, the elevator stopped working and we had to climb 3 stories but they helped with luggage. In brief, a nice small clean basic hotel, in an excellent area, and very good price, and welcoming staff.
• Johnny (8/5): - Spent 3 weeks here and really enjoyed it ! It's located right in the middle of Sultanahmet (the "Old City") between the Blue Mosque and AyaSophia.......great area to walk and explore. Also, the Metro stop is a one minute walk from the hotel ! A big plus is the rooftop terrace.......you can enjoy breakfast, a drink, etc. on the rooftop with a 360 degreee view of Istanbul ! The view really is incredible, especially at night. The staff was great; Dilrabol, who manages the hotel was GREAT ! She spoken several languages so communication is not a problem......she helped with any questions I had. I will definitely stay at Askin Hotel on my next trip to Istanbul. Johnny

• Anastasiya (10/5): Very delighted - Very nice small hotel. The location is the best - only 2 min to the Blue Mosque by feet! Price-quality - 100%. Also the boss is always friendly, helpful and understanding. He is trying to do his best for the guests. I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for the best location and friendly atmosphere!

• Verified traveler (4/5): Small Hotel in Old City - The location of the hotel is great and the staff were very friendly. They did not have a room prepared for me so they offered me a choice of three. The one I chose wasn´t ready so they asked me to sleep in one of the others the first night. They didn´t get round to moving me... In eight days they did not change sheets or towels. However the staff were really nice and helped with taxis and advice.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting hotel - Absolutely terrible hotel. Got shown a room and it had a wall covered in mould. Moved to another room and it was just as bad. Strange smell comes out the toilet, didnt even get a proper blanket. Towels had a funny smell too. Bed had hair on it and there was a mosquito im the room too. Overall just a really terrible hotel experience. Definitely would not recommend to anyone. Wasn't exactly cheap at close to £40 a night.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid, if you can - Hotel staff did not honor the reservation (booked double room with sea view got single room overlooking street). Noisy environment from loud music in nearby restaurant. Room was smelly and humid with mildew in shower and peeling wall paint with hair and toothpaste stuck on tiles above the sink. The shower did not drain properly. Breakfast consisted of half sliced tomato, half sliced cucumber, 2 slices of cheese, olives, bread, tea or coffee. Very disappointing hotel.

• WAKITA (8/5): ブルーモスクから徒歩3分！ - 最寄駅はT1スルタンアフメット駅。駅から徒歩5分。ブレックファーストを屋上でいただきますが、ブルーモスクが間近に見えます。立地はとてもいいと思います。 wi-fi環境も部屋までバッチリ早かったです。5,000円台でしたので良いホテルだと思います。

• Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location (it's major asset) assuming you find it on your first try. It is near major sights but it's hidden in an alleyway. The hotel is more of a 2-star hotel according to American standards. The hotel did not accept credit cards. They kept repeatedly claiming their machine was not working after a 3-day stay. I had to pay in cash.
• Mikael Praagman (6/5): Good loacation, a bit wore down - The hotel is located next to Sultanahmet square. For tourist, this is a nice place for sightseeing ( blue mosque, aya sofia, basilica sisterns and Grand Bazar to mention a few). The staff is friendly and helpful. The manager speaks mostly turkish and German. The rooms are in need of an upgrade. The shower heads are broken in several rooms, the tv is hardly workin and the wifi is pretty slow.

• Susanna (6/5): Fantastiskt läge och utsikt - Det som ger hotellet högre betyg är läget 50 meter från Blå Moskén och det fina utsikten från takterrassen. Frukosten serveras på taket och är enkel men tillräcklig. Det är inte direkt nyrenoverat men det är rent. Stort minus för att det inte fanns varmvatten under eftermiddagen när vi ville duscha. Viktigt att notera är läget precis bredvid moskén och de väldigt högljudda böneutropen därifrån flera gånger per dygn. Men för en kortare vistelse är det absolut ett bra hotell.

Strange smell from bathroom stayed the same for the three nights we stayed there. No toiletries. They do not accept credit cards so bring cash. Had scheduled airport pick up but no one was there had to call them twice but someone showed up eventually. The location was the best feature for sure.

• Verified traveler (2/5): They could try a bit harder - The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Very close to the main attractions. Breakfast is included but super small portions served in mini Tupperwares. Not filling at all. Room is less than minimal, it doesn't even have a light with a night table. If you seek for comfort, not for you.

• Bärbel (6/5): Einfaches Hotel mit ausreichender Ausstattung - Die Lage des Hotels ist optimal, um die Altstadt per Fuß zu erkunden (direkt hinter der Blauen Moschee, gut 3 Minuten von der Hagia Sophia entfernt). Die Zimmer und Badezimmer sind klein, aber es ist alles Notwendige vorhanden. Das Bad müffelt leicht, dies soll aber in Istanbul häufig vorkommen. Wasser muss man lange laufen lassen, ehe heißes Wasser kommt!

• Tariq (2/5): Would not recommend! - The only good thing about this hotel is the location which is right next to the blue mosque. Other than that a terrible experience. I booked 3 single beds and was given a double and 1 single, after some insistence a temporary 'bed' was wheeled in. I was told the manager was asleep so that's the best they could do. The bed was like sleeping on rocks and I couldn't sleep all night. The next day I was promised that a better bed would be given when leaving in the morning however returned in the evening and everything was still the same. Luckily the manager was at reception and he did change the bed which was only marginally better. The room was very dirty and unclean however the toilet/shower were clean but very small. The breakfast was very basic to say the least and took 30 minutes to be served as the manager was working by himself. The manager did try to make amends by booking us a taxi to the airport for 10 euros. Overall, a very bad experience and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. I would suggest as a precaution you only book one night if unsure about a hotel and then book a better hotel for the rest of your trip as there are many nice and reasonable hotels nearby. I hope someone finds this useful.

• Lesley (4/5): Beware of reception staff - Booked this hotel not expecting too much as only a 3 star but were very disappointed nonetheless. We arrived at the hotel (purely by chance as no local or taxi knew where it was) with our reservation email which hadn't printed correctly and the price wasn't showing correctly. The guy on reception insisted that the price was a £100 more. Luckily the owner came and he agreed with our initial booked price. However we did pay slightly more on Expedia for a room with a sea view but were given the room next door with the view of the Blue Mosque. A beautiful view but not what we paid for and we were shrugged off when we questioned it. The room was basic which wasn't a problem but the shower head was broken and the base leaked. The head was replaced but we used endless towels mopping up water on the floor from the base. We got stuck in the lift just below level 3 but the owner came quickly and helped us out but shrugged it off as being turkish made so quite normal. The maid replaced towels every day and made the bed but nothing more. The guy on reception also tried to charge us 9 times more for a Bosphorous Tour than we could get on the street. We also witnessed him charge an American guy three times more for a single room than we paid for a double, however we also saw the owner refund this money and apologise. The hotel was non-smoking but the people next door ignored this so we could smell smoke whenever we were in the room, again nothing was done about this.
• Delfina (2/5): Excellent location, foul smelling (sewage) room. - Dirty bathroom, curtains,towels, tiles. OK beds. Great location and good breakfast, Run by family; listening to family spats not fun... Overpriced compared to better cheap hotels within 2 block area!!!!!. We avoided being in the Hotel !!!!!
