Guest Reviews
- Josef (10/5): -
- Richard (8/5): Comfortable Chelsea stay near the Highline, and Chelsea Piers. - Breakfast was not included. The food was good and the coffee was good. I didn't understand how to order even though the bartender was right there. They do not have decaf espresso. They do have oat milk. The prices are New York prices but not outrageous. There is an espresso machine in the room, and it has decaf capsules. Read the instructions provided in the room. The rooms are very modern and fairly spacious. Similar to but not as tight as a W hotel. Comfortable for two. The bed is built into a platform with slats like a futon. Very comfortable, but low to the floor. My room (51) could be repainted. Particularly the area along the baseboards and the urethane finish on the platform bed. There is some evidence of water damage in the bathroom that could be fixed. Also it did not seem to heat up with the HVAC unit, so I was cold.
- Jenni (8/5): Good if you are only staying a night or 2. As mentioned, the staff is awesome. - The staff was fantastic! So friendly and accommodating! The rooms were super tiny...mine didn't even have a closet and the only place to sit was on the bed. I could barely walk around the bed. And the beds are super low to the ground, so really hard on my knees and hip. And the windows were very dirty on the outside. The room was clean, but just so small.
- alice (10/5): I’ve a nice stay, definitely a gem in NYC ! - Good location. Friendly staff.
- Jill (6/5): I likely won’t stay here again. It was fine but not secure and the house keeping staff was really not good. - It had a good location as i was in town for business a block away. Its not secure given night clubs on the roof and in the basement. And everyone uses the same elevators with no key card security.
- Razan (10/5): -
- Rishya (3/5): The staff was incredible and so supportive and kind, I really had to think twice about writing this. - The staff were incredible and so helpful! I’ve stayed in a few hotels for work over the past few months and this has to the worst one so far. I was first on a lower floor and any minor sound outside the room or outdoors could be heard, so there was clearly no insulation. I moved rooms because the lights didn’t work tho and the second room was slightly better but once again, the lack of insulation was so difficult to sleep through.
- Razan (6/5): - Location and cute to the point accommodation
- Kazakova (8/5): -
- John (10/5): Enjoyable - Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

- William (10/5): -
- Herbert (6/5): -
- David (4/5): - Did not use breakfast Extremely loud noises inside and outside hôtel on Saturday evening. Outside the hôtel is extremely dirty.
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Cataldo (5/5): Highly not recommended - The bar at the entrance was good, and the bartender was friendly and polite, which was a nice first impression. At check-out I was charged a $35 per day “facilities fee,” which felt like I paid twice and even completely unjustified since the hotel basically had no services. The rooftop was closed, even though it was shown as open in the photos.
Throughout the entire night we heard a lot of noise, including a woman screaming, and overall we felt unsafe during our stay. The surrounding area was also very bad and did not feel secure.
I received an upgrade through Booking, but the room was still very disappointing: it had a huge window facing another building, so people could see inside perfectly, with zero privacy.
Additionally, the staff at the reception were Latino and spoke very little English, which made communication difficult.
- Shawn (8/5): Nice place, good location in Chelsea - Nice location, clean, great staff Beds are on the floor on a small platform, not as easy to get in and out of
- Sunda (10/5): 10/10 Would recommend - Beautiful scenery, comfortable rooms, and exceptional guest services!
- Monika (8/5): -
- Dave (10/5): - Fast check-in and wonderful shower.
- NIKKI (1/5): -
- Bruno (8/5): - L emplacement, le rooftop , la decoration . Les claquements fréquents provenant de la machinerie ascenseur
- Candi (7/5): Had good stay. - The bar and restaurant is pretty nice. There's a nightclub downstairs. My bathroom had no door and I wasn't aware of that.
- Matthew (10/5): - Only stayed for one night but the location was good
- Robert (10/5): - Convenient
- Robert (10/5): - Convenient location
- Daniel (4/5): - Fire alarms went twice while is there … both false alarms. Deceptively small room. Noisy, you can hear everything on your floor, especially room next door. Very weird!
- Joseph (10/5): - Great place
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Sylwia (6/5): - Clean
- Muhammad Noman (2/5): - The standard room felt quite small and lacked sufficient space to move around comfortably. The hallways were also dimly lit, creating a rather gloomy atmosphere reminiscent of a horror street. Additionally, the room itself was not well-organized, which affected the overall comfort and experience of the stay.
- Jen (10/5): - Great brunch!
- Seth (10/5): - The place was great. Good size room. Modern decor.
- Katrin (10/5): -
- Hillary (6/5): All fine - The room was sufficient if not very small. I got a coupon for the bar that was never open due to private events. Otherwise all was well.
- Dana (8/5): - Would stay again.
- Haig (8/5): - Staff were nice, rooms are a little tired but ok, hotel is in an unbelievably central location and very well priced. The rooftop bar is a great place to hang out. But the parking lot they collaborate with is not great, service is terrible.
- Ben (10/5): -
- Janice (8/5): - Ma
- Tara (8/5): - I liked the roof deck and the courtyard. There was nice outdoor space with pretty views
- caroline (10/5): - The staff is fantastic! Looking forward to staying there again.
- Raffaela (10/5): - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had a superb stay at Hotel Alameda in Chelsea, NY. The hotel was stylish, comfortable, and perfectly located, but what really stood out was the service. Martin was absolutely fabulous—attentive, warm, and went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional. Highly recommend!
- Fatoumata (6/5): - The room was incredibly small, and the bathroom was even smaller. The sink was too small to wash your face properly. The loby was aesthetically pleasing, but the staff was nonchalant. They were also strange fire alarms that went off in the morning, which was extremely loud and irritating.
- isabel (8/5): I’d absolutely ideal if they get their act together. They check the customer booking and requirements ahead of the arriv - Location the staff, clean Needs some modernisation, response to emails no good, checking in and out always a problem, this must be sorted as I have already reserved for February
- Pamela (8/5): Wonderful stay - very nice staff - Very nice property and very modern too ! Loved the Latino vibes Our shower faucet broke two times and water didn’t stop coming
- Gregory (10/5): - My small studio room is exactly what I wanted. Pretty small but as a single traveler it was perfect. Super nice staff. Easy to walk where I wanted. I’d sty again, no doubt.
- Laila (10/5): - the rooftop and free complimentary drinks were nice!
- Cynthia (6/5): Likes: location; Dislikes: $100 charge held for up to 3days, water bottle should be complimentary. - We didn't have breakfast. The floor in the room wasn't clean. I would want the accent pillow and foot stool removed; I didn't feel they looked clean. I would have liked to have a second luggage holder.
- Valeria (6/5): it was not the best. - the hotel was in a good area. The night manager was friendly, and the food was yummy. The elevator smelled terribly, the shower head didn't fit the tub, and there was a waiter that was wearing an extremely short crop top and booty shorts with his whole [hairy] gut hanging out, which is extremely unsanitary.
- maya (10/5): -
- Julia (8/5): -
- Janelle (10/5): - Sleeper place in the Highline. Bit of a gritty street, but it’s NYC, what would you expect? Great market around the corner for easy breakfast lunch, even quick early dinner options, even walking there in your pjs as needed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): I'd pass - The hotel has a minimalist "coolness" to it, but nothing quite works. The room and bathrooms are small. The bathroom sink is too small to comfortably wash your face. The bathroom ledge is too skinny to hold a toiletry bag without it falling off. The bed and pillows are hard. The elevators smell like b.o. and the floors of the lobby are dirty.
- Tonya (10/5): Awesome! - Location, attentive & friendly staff. Clean and the rooftop bar was spectacular! Breakfast choices were top notch. The sitting cube in our room, would recommend a comfortable chair in room.
- Revekka (3/5): -
- Demetrius (10/5): - Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very kind and professional. The bar on the rooftop offers great cocktails. The bartenders very friendly. My room was spacious modern and clean, and I love the hotel is in close proximity to the Highline Patk. Zaha Hadid’s building is also right across the street, which is beautiful to look at from the Hotel rooftop.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Felt like we were in Soho just outside of Midtown. Could not have picked a better location and a better boutique hotel. Loved it!
- Rosemary (10/5): - Such a cute place with an amazing view from the room. The rooftop bar and social scene was great with again amazing views of the city. I'll definitely stay again.
- William (4/5): - The housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. The the rest of the staff— front desk, bar tenders and wait staff were disconnected, disinterested and distant. My standard room was ridiculous. You need advance acrobatic skills to negotiate the tiny spaces along side the platforn bed. The bathroom is a phone booth
- larry (4/5): - The room was small, but stylish with floor to ceiling windows. But it seems like they opened before they were ready. There are no USB connections; most of the equipment in the room seemed 30-years old. As did the halls and elevator. The bed is comfortable but only about a foot off the ground on a wood platform that I kept bumping into. Cool lobby; nice vibe.
NO A/C!! When I arrived they told me about the A/C and left me no alternative. I guess the building systems are 30 years old too.
- Edna (2/5): - Reserved vía expedía and they didn’t find my reservation and was charged …. Very disappointed
- Elliott (2/5): - I was not able to check in because of HVAC issues. I had to find another hotel and it cost me a lot of money and time. Very frustrated
- Charles (10/5): - Nice
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice location, alright room - While the staff was very friendly and accommodating, I believe the photos didn’t properly capture what the room looked liked like. The room was smaller in person and felt like it wasn’t originally intended to be a hotel. The shower extended into the room and individuals showering could be seen by people in the bedroom. Additionally there was no proper counter space and only a small ledge by the sink. The sink was also quite shallow so water would splash while using it. Location wise it was very good, however, be aware that the space is smaller than depicted and has a less ideal bathroom set up.
- Ken (10/5): - The staff were nice and the room was very clean and refreshing. Thank you.
- Scott (10/5): - After my first room was hot, Martin at the front desk quickly changed me to a higher floor, cooler room and couldn’t have been more helpful. Great place to stay in NYC.
- Terri (8/5): It was really cool and in a cool part of town - Modern and hip. I loved the playlist I would have liked a bed on a frame
- Uriel (6/5): - Not too bad not too good, homeless man was running around inside at 2am so that’s cool
- Richard (8/5): - Nice hotel. Great staff. Was able to park in street when got there. Parked in garage around corner after that. Room was a little worn so if ur picky may not be for you. Bedding and pillow super comfy and im picky about that. I would definately stay again.
- Ashiv (6/5): - The staff at the front desk is almost nonexistent. Consistently not there to help. Additionally the property itself wasn’t the most clean experience.
- Adam (2/5): - Room was filthy, lights didn't work, blinds didn't work, TV remote didn't work. Complete rip off.
- Art (2/5): - Terrible room, poor
- Goutam (10/5): - There should be more hooks in the bathroom particularly in the shower. The shower curtain was not effective in preventing the floor from getting wet. Staff was very good
- Shomari (8/5): - My check in was fast, staff was nice and professional. My room was perfect and that shower!!! OMG. I will be staying at the Hotel Alameda Highline again.
- Christopher (8/5): - Awesome location, the lobby was a peaceful place to sit and read and drink coffee. Quiet, clean room
- Danielle (6/5): - Stayed here for one night because of its location to the Peloton Studios.
I was with another woman (friends not a couple) and booked a twin/double room expecting twin beds. Upon checking in, was told that room type did not exist. So we shared a bed. It was fine for one night. Expedia needs to change the description.
However, if you have the light on in the bathroom, the person on the other side of the wall can see into the shower. So we showered (separately) in the dark. A really bad design feature.
The bed is a mattress on a platform and it was comfortable enough.
The tub shower was so deep it was hard to get into. And for some odd reason the shelf with the towels on it was 6 inches from the ceiling. We had to climb on the toilet to get them.
The common areas are nice. Has a nice rooftop bar.
- Jennifer (4/5): - New management at this hotel has driven it into the ground. This used to be a sophisticated boutique hotel and now it is a bit of a dump. So dissapointed. Loved the location, but I will never go back after having been many times in the past.
- Ashley (10/5): - I didn’t have
- Hannah (10/5): - We had a great time
- Mack (8/5): Great for a weekend trip. - Close to a lot and a good value Outside was a bit dirty I know it’s NYC but I felt like they could have maybe cleaned up a bit more. One of the managers was a bit rude but all other staff was amazing.
- Angelo (4/5): - The walls are extremely thin and I could hear my neighbor hacking up his lungs. I also am extremely dissatisfied with the fact that there was a dirty tissue on the floor when we walked in
- Nima (6/5): - Needs to more attention to cleanliness, one of my towels in my room was falling apart and shredded on one end.
Big cockroach came on the towel on my last day staying.
Staff was great, but property definitely needs some upkeep and janitorial work.
- suzanne (6/5): - Beds were horrible. Bathroom door did not stay closed. Music from roof top bar was way too loud. Could hear it a few floors down.
- Leslie (10/5): - It was Quiet
- Joseph (10/5): - Friendly low key place.
- Alexander (10/5): - Martin helped me, and he is such a great person to explain the location plus taking care of costumers I would stay at this hotel
Again because of people like him.
Thank you Martin for making my stay prefect.
- Marvin (4/5): - The room was terrible. Bed was horrible. Mattress was directly on floor. Only a small wooden chair which was very uncomfortable. Would never stay there again.
- Arkadiusz (2/5): - We refused to stay in after seeing the state of the property. Room was covered in cracks both on the walls and wooden fixtures. Stains on the floor near the need that looked like bodily fluids. SHOWER DID NOT HAVE COURTAINS AND POINTED AT THE BED FOR VIEWING! Absolutely disgusting. Now the place is trying to refuse a refund. Please somebody from Expedia contact me
- Chase (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at this property in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan. The location was incredibly convenient — close to everything I needed and surrounded by amazing food options, from casual bites to upscale dining and lots of art exhibitions! The room itself was unique and thoughtfully designed. It was the perfect blend of comfort and style. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable stay in a vibrant, walkable neighborhood!
- Brett (10/5): - Very good staff, hotel is really cool - trendy. Pleasantly surprised at how nice it was.
- Russell (8/5): - Super tiny place with the bed sitting on the floor. Not my favorite
- Nicholas (10/5): - Was a cool vibe
- Nádia (10/5): Exceptional - Everyone at Hotel Alameda was very friendly and accommodating. The location is great, the metro station 23st, 28st or 34st is about 10 to 15m walking distance from the hotel, The high line is right behind the building and Chelsea market is located at 15m walking, basically, you can find everything around the Hotel.
The room was small, but clean and comfortable, was perfect for a couple that spent the time visiting the city.
The hotel vibes are great, very cool, young and modern.
Can’t wait to go back to NYC ✨
Thank you so much Hotel Alameda!
- Zhesen (2/5): - The last night I stayed I woke up with bed bug bites over my leg, felt like the cleanliness of the room is far from a 4 star
- Reine (8/5): - It is good hotel but definitely need some update as it seem outdated and my shower only hat boiling water. Otherwise the staff were amazing.
- Steven (7/5): I would find a difference hotel the next time I come to New York. - I liked the location for my work while in New York.
the bathroom area was super. 1) the bed was only inches off the floor.
2) had no dresser drawers to store your clothes.
3) food choices were limited
- Svetlana (8/5): Great value, safe and clean, minimalistic hotel with no frills - Minimalistic design, clean room, no extra smells, no frills but great value, felt safe in and around the hotel and the staff was very friendly Room was a bit cold and pumping up temp on the heater didn't help (for reference, outside temp around 6C at night), exaserbated by cold concrete floors
- Thuy Anh (10/5): - Great hotel, great location also.
