• Livinia (7/5): Fairly nice place - only concern lack of blankets in room, and flies in bathroom. - Cute little place to stay! Overall was fairly clean and nice place :) Room was nice, just only had a top sheet, no doona or warmer blanket so although the weather wasn’t too cold I found it hard to sleep without that extra comfort! There were quite a few little fruit flies in the bathrooms but apart from that was fairly nice facilities. Location was a bit inconvenient as well if using public transport as the ferry’s are quite infrequent and it is quite a walk to get to the station.

• THIOLLET (8/5): Maison atypique charmante et proche du ferry - Très pratique à quelques minutes de l'embarcadère pour rejoindre Circular et le CBD. Arrivée autonome après l'heure facile et sans problème. Maison atypique sur plusieurs niveaux lui donnant du charme. Salle de bain commune très propre (tapis de bain changés après chaque douche) Plusieurs petits restaurants à deux minutes à pied. Chambre twin un peu petite et bruyante sur la route mais pas un pb avec les bouchons d'oreille

• Maria Eugenia (9/5): Great budget accomodation close to Sydney cbd - I love the location. 200 mts from Neutral bay ferry station and a 20 min (beautiful) walk to the train. It takes tou 10 min to be in the Sydney cbd. I did a late check out and the process was so easy. My room was spacious and comfortable. The room wasnt properly clean. I let reception know I was gping to arrive at 10 pm so they had plenty of time to clean the room. I was surprise and dissapointed when I got to the room and the floor was full of hair and stained.

• Tania (9/5): Zentral gelegen, sehr nett - Schönes Haus, sehr freundliche Mitarbeitende, von der Rezeption haben wir tolle Tips für Ausflüge in die nähere Umgebung bekommen. Balmoral Beach ist schön zum Baden und Spazieren. Durch die Gemeinschaftsküche bekamen wir nette Kontakte mit Menschen aus aller Welt. Die Unterkunft ist ca. 5 min zu Fuß vom Fähranleger nach Circular Quay entfernt. Die Fahrt dorthin dauert ca 15-20 min. Klimaanlage im Zimmer wäre ein Plus.
• T (10/5): Fantastic property, absolutely recommend. - Well maintained and clean property within minutes of public transport. The staff are lovely and very friendly. Fantastic budget option for a stay in Sydney. For stays in summer months, be aware that it does get hot and there's no AC. In saying that, every room has a fan and you can ask the staff for extras if you need.

Location is beautiful as it is near the neutral bay Wharf but we didn't realise it was going to be such a walk to Military road where everything is. Our room was on the ground floor with view onto another wall. No air con so we had to make do with the pedestal fan.
• Alan (1/5): Wish I could get a refund. - To our sunrise, the rooms did not encapsulate what we booked. When expressed to the after hours line, we were met with sarcasm, directness and with no sense of customer service. This resulted in checking out roughly 25mins after checking in, and booking another place.

Bathroom facilities were great and very convenient right beside our room. Very happy with our choice and would come again if in Sydney. All good no problems

In the bathroom, the hot water for the vanity basin was not working. I had to go to the upper level bathroom to have a shave etc.

• Kimberly (6/5): - The area itself is beautiful and it's well kept and organised. The facilities were very clean and everyone was very respectful. Just make sure you're prepared for hills if you're walking around. It's hard to tell what you'll get when booking, the rooms looked different and well lit online, and that might be what the upstairs rooms look like, but we were downstairs with the common areas. No issues with noise or being near the common areas, everyone was very respectful, but our room was incredibly humid with very little natural light. It almost felt like staying in a basement 😅

• Aanya (6/5): Very nice stay and comfortable outside of the problem with room air. - Location and heritage style of accommodation and its complementary nature to the street and surrounding buildings * No heating or cooling in room * No bed covering suitable. The first night was an unusually cold night and there was only sheets and one very thin blanket in the cupboard. At that time of night it was not possible to request extra bed coverings and there was no air conditioner to change room temperature.

• Vivian (8/5): An affordable slice of Harbourside history, make sure you check the ferry terminal is open. - Picturesque location near ferry terminal. Historic building with large rooms and shared lower ground service kitchen. It would have been helpful to have been advised ahead of time that the ferry terminal was under maintenance as this was one of the main reasons I chose to stay here.

• Kathleen (6/5): I was disappointed. - The location was good. Pretty, urban street. Shower was good. The furniture was old and damaged in areas, and decor was tired. The overall feel of the lodge was like a halfway house.

• Lindy (5/5): - We were very happy with the comfort of the King bed. It was great to have the convenience of a bar fridge, if we needed it. The convenience of having an ensuite was fantastic. Having a free parking space was very helpful. The issues we had were with the constant noise from the water pipes above us. Our Toilet did get stuck when refilling, so we had to turn the tap off so it did not keep refilling. There was absolutely no view, except for the opposite wall of the building. My good beach towel was stolen from the front of the Lodge when I put it on the chair to dry off. That was my fault for placing it there, but it was disappointing. The negative issues I have stated above were disappointing.

• Melissa (8/5): Nice and convenient - It was clean and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. Check in was easy and it was very pretty just down the road. The shower products were impossible to open I had to cut them open with my keys and the new was a jug of water in the fridge but I didn’t know where I could get more water.

• Samantha (9/5): Worth it. - Comfortable, clean room with good facilities. Friendly staff and well located. Walking distance from a small bay beach area (2 min walk). Great restaurants and coffee shops near by (2 min walk). (I went to the cafe Thelma & Louise which is by the Neutral Bay Ferry) and Jaggi's North Indian restaurant. Good public transport - ferries, buses and a walk to trains. Easy to get into the city by walking about 20 minutes - then you can catch trains to get to other places. Near ferries that take you to the Sydney Opera House area I enjoyed travelling that way. (Neutral Bay Ferry (2 min walk) was shut for some of my stay (Nov. 2025), but there was another one about an 8 minute walk away or another one 16 min walk). A short walk from the Children's Author - May Gibbs' House which I enjoyed visiting. I found this stay to be excellent value for money.
