Rebecca (10/5): - This isn’t in central Tokyo, but in the business district. However, the tube is just a 3 minute walk away, if that. It’s in a nice quiet area that felt very safe (I’m a solo female traveller). The breakfast isn’t great and probably not worth it if you’re European and looking for a non-Asian breakfast. There’s a supermarket round the corner that sells croissants etc.

Ronald Allan Santos (10/5): - We booked for 3 rooms and we’re happy that we’re all on the same floor as I’ve requested. Rooms are small which is very common in Tokyo but it’s good enough for 2 pax and it’s nice that you can store your luggage under the bed which is so smart. The hotel is located very close to Ningyocho station and has a family mart just a block away. Staff is polite however got a misunderstanding on the extension of stay as one staff told us the price differently which I got a bit upset as I thought that their price will be standard and as I know Japanese people are very honest and won’t take advantage of other people but in the end everything went well. We will definitely stay in this hotel if we visit Tokyo again.

Christina (10/5): - I always like staying at APA Hotels. It's quite small but as a solo or couple travelers it's enough since you're really just staying there to sleep. It's less than 5 minutes walk to Ningyocho station and less than a half hour walk to Tokyo Station. It's a quiet area since it's located in a business area. That being said, there's not much to do around the area so you would have to take the metro elsewhere. At least there's a Family Mart on your way to/from Ningyosho Station.

Mike (10/5): - This has become my go to hotel when I visit Tokyo. Check-in is at 3pm, but staff are helpful to hold your bags before then. Rooms are small which is pretty normal in Tokyo, but clean, especially bathroom. Conveniently located a minute walk between a 7-11 or Family Mart and 3 minute walk to train station. Tucked away in a street off the main road so more than enough options for food.

The outside structure of the hotel was open and not an enclosed building which made the rooms more cold. Not many Japanese restaurants around compared to other places, more food catered to tourists which wasn't what I was looking for. Overall, it was a decent hotel that provided a lot of amenities. Train, 7-11, family mart is close by.

Vanessa (8/5): - Pros outweigh the cons. I am glad I chose this hotel because of how close it was to the ningyocho station, it was super easy to check in and out. For a single traveler the room size was not a problem, even though it was smaller than American hotel rooms. I accidentally selected a smoking room which was my fault. Because it was a smoking room I assume they don’t keep them as clean as the non smoking. Room clearly had the yellow/brown tint and dust everywhere on top of the smell. HOWEVER I went to the front desk and asked to switch to a non smoking room. They were completely booked but were empathetic and let me have an air purifier which did help and made it a lot more bearable. There are restaurants nearby the hotel, and the ningyocho area was actually very nice and not crazy busy like some of the surrounding districts. If I had to choose again, I’d stay in this location again. But I would choose a non smoking room

Verified traveler (6/5): Ningyocho APA Eki-Kita - This particular APA is a throw back to the late 1990s. The bed was collapsed in the middle and the skirt was frayed. Rotating the mattress 180 degrees helped a bit. The room is slightly smaller than a newer APA, but small enough to be noticeably cramped. I was also surprised at the level of dust in the room, along the carpet edges and corners. For a few bucks more, try Nihombashi-Bakurocho for two nice APAs just half a mile away. Newer APAs are designed with a platform bed with luggage storage underneath and have a slightly larger desk and updated control systems for better comfort. However, being in Ningyocho is a convenient, walkable location on the Hibiya and Asakusa lines.

The lighting could have been better, the light above the desk was amazingly harsh! Needs to be less in your face and a few more ambient lights maybe? Bed was great! Pillows good for Tokyo. Very clean, quiet. Shame about the lack of view... My room faced a wall so hardly any natural light in the morning.

James (6/5): Be careful. - Be wary of this hotel. APA is a famous branch but not with its downfalls. Yes, these rooms are tiny. But they aren’t made to hang out in. Mostly, shower and sleep. But, they don’t let you control the AC. It is controlled by the hotel as a whole so if you are hot, tough. They will tell you to open a window....that opens about 6 to 8 inches inward over the bed. No screens either so when you open the window....hello mosquitoes. They have a restaurant....that is breakfast only. And additional amenties like towels, fans, pillows, etc...you have to rent which i guess they charge for later? All that aside, the location is perfect for getting around. They also have large comfortable beds too. The showers are incredible. Their daily staff are courteous but be sure to speak some Japanese to their night staff as they don’t speak English. If you need a comfortable bed, then this is for you. If you need a place to crash and relax in your room, then look elsewhere.

Amenities like toothbrush, comb, earbuds were refilled after use which was nice. It was cleaned every time we would get back but sometimes it looked like they never replaced the covers of bed or our bathroom towels because it started to develop a smell and I noticed our hairs were still on them. This is near two subway stations (about 2-5 min walk) which was great because we got to explore most of Tokyo during the stay. This is also near two family marts so it’s a plus to grab anything you need for emergencies near you. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions or concerns we had. But only a few spoke and understood English. Overall I wouldn’t recommended this for couples or anyone staying in Tokyo for more than 2 days.

Despite the heatwave the hotel was always cool and so where the rooms. The location was great close to many amazing restaurants and to the train. Verified traveler (8/5): Nice APA hotel - Good location near train station and quiet busines district. Stayed at APA before and they don’t disappoint. Near lively districts. Plenty of coffee shops and good restaurants nearby

Janice (8/5): Nice hotel close to transportation - Its my second time to stay in APA hotel. As I thought, small but cozy place, near to the transportation. It’s walkable to Tokyo station, Akihabara, and Asakusa. The only weakness here is the WiFi signals are too weak to connect. It will be great if APA’s members can fix this issue.
Verified traveler (6/5): Okay place for price. - The employee was splendid. Cleaniness was okay. However the hallway are really cold cause its connected to outside that can't be avoided. Also I reserve a non smoking room and yet I kept smelling smoke. Big no no.
K (10/5): Perfect hotel! - Our whole family uses this hotel when we are in town. The rooms are very tiny so may not be ideal for families with kids but was everything my husband and I needed for a weekend in Tokyo. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. The subway station is a 2 minute walk away and you can easily get there from the airports and takes you directly to a lot of great stops (fish market, Ginza, Roppongi, etc) it has a drug store and family mart on the same block to pick up any essentials you might need. If a small room will be a concern for you (and yes it’s very tiny) this may not be for you, but it really is a great hotel, we always enjoy staying here
Jorge (8/5): All good except for WiFi - The stay was good. When we checked in they said the room may be small and offered to change us. We were ok after figuring out where to place the luggage. They put in new toiletries every day. On the downside, the wifi system needs to be changed altogether. I had read it was bad but i thought people were exaggerating. They were not. If you are hoping to post on social media your pics or chat with your family, you may as well do it from the Subway's wifi. You will get disconnected every 30 seconds at the hotel, and it can become infuriating especially when you urgently need an Uber to go to the airport.
