Großzügige, saubere, moderne und voll ausgestattete Zimmer, inmitten eines herrlichen und sehr gepflegten Gartens. Frühstück war gut - Omelette empfohlen! Wir haben während einer einmonatigen Südafrikareise zuerst drei Tage dort übernachtet und spontan noch einmal auf der Rückreise - Danke Gigi! Wir kommen gerne wieder, zumal der Ort sich auch sehr gut als Ausgangspunkt für Tagesausflüge eignet. n/a

Edith (10/5): I would definitely return and loved the convenience, cleanliness and caring attitudes of everyone working at the propert - It’s quiet and a safe area. The property is very well run and managed. Breakfasts were wonderful and the parking undercover. Hosts were amazing! The carpet in the bedroom is not practical but the owner mentioned (even prior to checkin) that they are going to have wooden vinyl installed shortly. That would be great :)

Nqobile (8/5): Lovely space, would recommend - It's a lovely, scenic space. The rooms and bathrooms were in great condition, very clean, and the bathtub was my absolute favourite! Iris and Gigi were attentive yet not intruding - perfect balance. The ladies in the kitchen were also great with service. The breakfast was always hot and fresh, and delicious, with soothing music in the background. I especially loved the fruit and the English breakfast. The coffee was also top notch. I had a few meetings there and their conference/boardroom came in very handy, complete with a water tank and tea/coffee facilities. Their chill room was also great for my meetings, as well as the balcony area with outdoor lounging which was comfortable and had lots of space. After my meetings, Iris would ask if my experience was in order, which I thought was very nice. I also loved that the aircons worked very well to warm up the private and common rooms as it was cold, and the electric blankets were very warm and comforting. The beds were so comfortable and I had a good sleep every night. My husband joined me on my second night there, and they received him warmly, which I appreciated given that the initial booking was for one. Their extra guest fee was also reasonable. It also felt very safe. The property has restricted, remote-controlled access and is in a boom-gated area. It was also a great location: removed from the hustle bustle but conveniently close to shops. The pool looked amazing! But my visit was in mid-winter so unfortunately I didn't get to try it out. I hope to come back for that. Lastly, you can tell that the hosts Gigi and Iris are a good-hearted and honest couple with respect for people, and that will always elevate any experience. The wifi was quite shifty and would regularly be down, so I had to use my phone's hotspot often. Sometimes the common rooms (chill room and conference room) would be locked. It's probably a safety thing, but it was inconvenient to have to keep going downstairs to request they be opened. I also found it a bit frustrating that when I would tell the room-service staff that a room was locked, they'd flat out deny it. Not sure why they didn't believe me. I'd have to escort them there to try it themselves, and it was locked every time. I expect the guests would have full access to these spaces. I was told to dial 9 on the room phone when I needed anything, but on the two occasions that I did, there was no answer. To be fair, Iris always responded when I would text during the day. The chill room has the communal microwave, so with it being locked and the phone not answered we had to eat our dinner cold a couple times. I'd suggest the chill room stay open at all times. Given the restricted access to the property, it should be safe.

Noella (10/5): Beauty meets comfort - The premises are magnificent. The garden is stunning and adorned with fountains. There is a patio where one can relax and admire the garden. The rooms are spacious and the deco, exquisite. You have an iron and an iron board in the room. The facilities are EXTREMELY clean, everywhere ! The breakfast buffet is plentiful enough that you don't even need to order extra food. The hosts are kind and very helpful. There's enough covered parking. Just the 1st morning, the cleaning ladies were having a conversation, next to my room and were a bit loud. But that was a once-off and it didn't last long. I'd have love to have shower gel as well, not just a bar soap. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Karen (9/5): Would stay there again - Gigi and Iris are really friendly hosts and cannot do enough for their guests. Rooms very comfortable and grounds lovely to sit and chill in. Great coffee and breakfast. Location perfect- quiet yet just off the main highway. Internet in room was a bit iffy

Maureen (9/5): Loved it! - Owners made us feel welcomed, room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Loved the big bathroom with large bathtub. Breakfast was delicious and the outside area was kept neat and you can sit back and enjoy the surroundings. You can see the love and care in the guesthouse and the outside area. I would recommend that you put in a microwave, but then again even without the microwave I will still make a reservation with Dunton guesthouse in a heartbeat.
Annette (10/5): Wonderful Guest House with delicious breakfasts. - This guest house is set in lovely, tranquil gardens. The staff are extremely accommodating and the accommodation is to a high standard. The bed was large and very comfortable. There is plenty of secure parking on the property and there is also security in the local area. The breakfast was amazing and delicious. We would definitely use this guest house in the future.
Michael (7/5): Bad managing staff - My partner and I recently enjoyed a long weekend stay at Dunton Guesthouse, and we found it to be an overall pleasant experience. However, there were a few moments that left us slightly concerned, particularly in our interactions with the management, specifically with Iris. Upon our arrival, we noticed that Iris was not as welcoming or friendly as we had hoped for. In contrast, her husband, Gigi, was consistently friendly and eager to assist us with any needs or requests we had throughout our stay. On the third day of our visit, we entered the guesthouse, and Iris, rather than greeting us as guests, quickly headed to her apartment without acknowledgment. On the day of our departure, we encountered an uncomfortable situation when Iris treated us with suspicion, seemingly concerned about the barbecue we had.My Partner being an attorney, stated that this experience left her quite disheartened. In summary, while Dunton Guesthouse offers a pleasant accommodation experience, we believe that the professionalism of the managing staff, particularly Iris, could benefit from some improvement. These experiences could potentially deter others from choosing this establishment for their stay. Furthermore, I'd like to mention that on our first day at Dunton Guesthouse, we were asked to provide our identity documents, and copies were made without us being requested to sign any indemnity form related to the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) regulations. To our surprise, these copies were not returned to us upon our departure, which raised concerns regarding the handling of our personal information. This aspect of our stay should be addressed to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and to enhance the overall guest experience.

The Dunton guest house exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t swim because of the rainy weather but promised to be back again for that!! Absolutely Nothing!!!

OUR AIRPORT TRANSFERS WERE ARRANGED, PRIVATE JOHANNESBURG TOUR/DRIVER ARRANGED, BEAUTIFUL BREAKFAST INCLUDED, LOVELY RESTAURANTS CLOSE BY. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!!
Allen (10/5): Lovely guest house in he northern suburbs of Johan - My wife and I stayed at Dunston Guest House for the weekend (2 nights). We needed to be in the north and west of Johannesburg over the weekend and the location in Woodmead was ideal. We were booked in to a standard room which we upgraded on arrival. The room was neat and comfortable and the breakfast was of the highest order. The owners and staff were excellent. Very friendly and efficient.
