The breakfast buffet is modest in size but surprisingly complete, and the staff is genuinely helpful throughout. • reviewereversley (8/5): Excellent except the coffee and communications - Gorgeous boutique hotel with lovely rooms and plenty of places to sit inside or outside. Great location. Drinks and snacks are available to buy but they don’t make this clear when you arrive. They could do a better job of explaining you get a welcome drink and how to order extras. The breakfast is the thing which stops me giving 5 stars. The food is ok but nothing special compared with other boutique hotels on our trip. The coffee which is provided is undrinkable - sitting in an urn for you to help yourself. It is possible to order good coffee - espresso cappuccino etc but they charge. I’ve never before been charged for coffee with breakfast. I mentioned this at check out but got charged anyway. Management needs to improve the coffee and the check in communication. Shame it let down what was otherwise a fabulous hotel.

• JamieRobbins (8/5): Nice hotel in an old historic building - This is a nice hotel with old world charm. The room was large but very creaky floorboards when you go to the bathroom in the night! Shower water pressure varied hugely daily, with the last day being difficult to use it was so low. Breakfast was continental and beautifully presented, you could ask for eggs to be cooked to order too from a very nice chef. Location was good for the city.

• Katia (10/5): Excellent price/high quality ratio in this beautiful hotel with impeccable service - Everything : the building is amazing, authentic old but bright, our room (el gaucho) was huge with a small but nice balcony to the call back of the hotel, the guys at reception but actually everybody went out of their way to do things for us with a smile. And the breakfast was really good, above average of the same-same in Argentina. Would advice any friend to go there! Maybe the airconditioning, it functioned well but since were there at a 34degrees C day we had to keep it on all night which was a bit noisy and had an bright light (the degrees) on it… but thats not really important

Our room was beautiful, though it lacked tea-making facilities. However, the staff happily made tea and coffee for us upon request, with no fuss at all. The hotel itself was beautifully furnished, with many interesting artifacts to admire. We drove here and were able to park right outside, but there was also plenty of space on the street. Additionally, a petrol station was conveniently located about 100 meters down the road. Overall, a wonderful stay

(We were given a free glass of wine on arrival.) However, the code for reading about our room, which was dedicated to a local musician was only available in Spanish - very frustrating. Very helpful reception and breakfast adequate.

My room for the 1st night was very large but overlooked the road and was a little noisy. They moved me to another room at the back for the 2nd and 3rd nights, which was better with a small balcony, but rather dark.Breakfast was ok. 1 night due to low occupancy there was no buffet but a la carte. Bit disappointing. I’m not sure overall it offered value for the price I paid, but nonetheless it is a very nice hotel

But all the others we met also were wonderful, we just didn’t get their names. The rooms and common areas are exquisite, including the lovely outdoor patio. We enjoyed tea and wine in that tranquil space on our last night there. The beds are comfortable, and the amenities are high-end. Breakfast has a large variety and eggs can be made to order. The restaurant recommendation to José Barcace Bistro was spot-on. I would gladly stay here whenever in Salta!
