Guest Reviews
- Debra (8/5): - Gordana and her sister are very lovely welcoming people. Although, you may think you are in the middle of nowhere when you arrive, you are not. Old town is a 10 minute walk and there is a Tommy market, bus stop and restaurant about a 5 minute walk down the stairs. The view from the patio was great.
- Yomna (10/5): Our unforgettable stay - My daughter and I had the best stay. Doris and her sister were very helpful and super nice. We had forgotten something in our accommodation in split, we were asking her what are the options to get it back and she immediately took the owner's phone number and contacted him and arranged everything and we had it back within 2 days. The place is very clean and cozy, it has everything you will need during your stay, it's really close to the old town and to the port. Thank you Doris for the very lovely stay and for being so nice and kind! We definitely recommend this place!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The view from this apartment is absolutely amazing. But you have to walk about 25~30 minutes from the old town. There is a supermarket in 15 minutes walking distance, and also a laundry let. You can do your laundry in the apartment, but you have to pay 50 kuna and there is no dryer. The laundry let works until 11pm so you can use that one.
The apartment is quite old, but it was clean. The bathroom was also very clean but small. And water goes down extremely slowly in the shower booth. It got little better after the host did some pumping, but still slow since it is an old house. The bed was also comfy and air conditioner worked really well.
The host was super friendly and super kind. She gave us a map and explained how to get to almost every famous places. She even gave us welcoming drinks.
- Olav (8/5): - Vi bestilte queensize. Fikk to enkle senger.
- Torild (10/5): Lovely quiet apartment - We stayed in Apartment Gordana for 14 days. Nice and clean apartment with all basic things you need. We had access to a balcony with a nice view. The two sisters Doris and Gordana, who own the place are very kind and helpful. We felt like we were at home. They spoiled us with homemade liquor and cakes. We can really recommend this place
- Malin (10/5): Lovely place with a view in a calm area. - We had a lovely stay at Hotel Gordana! The sisters are super sweet and made sure we had everything we needed in the apartment and also helped us with good recommendations to do around Dubrovnik. The apartment was clean and well equipped and we ate breakfast at ”our” veranda with a beautiful view. There are convinience stores and bakerys just 5min away and its around 25 min to Old Town. Can really reccommend this apartment.
- Andreas (8/5): - The apartment was spacious and comfortable enough for our purposes. A few minor details don´t give it the full excellent rating, like lack of space in bathroom, overcrowded bedroom ( we had to rearrange the beds to be able to use the closet) and the distance to the old town. A bit too far by high temps.
- Hannah (10/5): Incredible Host - The hostess was the kindest woman! Extremely welcoming and greeted us with cold juice and taught us about the local area and answered all questions. (Take bus 8 from the bus station to the Tommy and it’s really close!) the blankets were soft and the body’s wash smelled so nice I went and bought a bottle after.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean room close to Dubrovnik old town - Very warm host, simple room, clean and closed to downtown Dubrovnik
- Shaun (10/5): Would stay again for sure! - I would recommend these apartments to anyone visiting Dubrovnik. Doris and Gordana were fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble. They allowed us to check in early as we arrived before check in time, they gave us a drink and explained all the different perks of the city including transport, food and activities. The rooms had everything you would need and are great value for money considering the time of year I visited. Their Boxer dog Misty was a great touch for me and made it even more homely as the one thing I hate about travelling is leaving my dog behind. One night we got back Doris had made a cake and some homemade Liquor and we had some on the balcony which you just don’t get at the big hotels. The location is difficult to find at first but the locals are more than happy to help and once you find your way it’s not that far to walk as the city is all fairly accessible. However if walking isn’t for you there are public transport links just a stones throw away. Overall a fantastic experience at Apartment Gordana and certainly heightened our experience of Dubrovnik!
- Piotr (10/5): - Great apartment with a very friendly and helpful host.
- Brian Daniel (10/5): A home away from home - Dubrovnik feels like a jungle of hotels, holiday apartments, and rooms when looking for accomodation. Luckily, Apartment Gordana/Doris was an excellent choice for my wife and me.
When we arrived, the incredibly nice Doris was ready to welcome us with chilled juice in the noon heat, a map of the local area, and some great insider tips on where to go. It was the sort of personal greeting that you don't see in hotels.
The studio apartment itself was neat, clean, and had everything we needed for our one-week stay. The pergola-covered terrace outside with a view of the sea outside was absolutely great, and I already miss sitting there. The surrounding area is pretty, and everything is a lot closer than it looks on the map. Several supermarkets, a bus stop, two bakeries, a few local bars, and a pizzeria are easily within walking distance, and twenty minutes (downhill!) will take you to Old Town, the Gruz harbour, or the zig-zagging walking trail up the hill. The stairs and roads back up were easier than I expected, and we didn't use the bus once.
In other words: If you want something clean, personal, and far better located than it looks on the map, Aparment Gordana/Doris is highly, highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful. Gordana is very welcoming. Her apartment is comfortable and well equipped. We loved our stay and will come back to this place should we return to Dubrovnik.
- Jim and Carole (10/5): Helpful staff - We had a very satisfying stay at the Hotel Gordana. Gordana, the owner, went out of her way to be helpful. When we couldn't find the Apartment she came and got us personally and led the way for us. When we said we had to drop off our rental car and didn't know the location of the drop-off, she offered to take us there.
The location of the Apartment is about a 20 minute walk from the Old City and requires some uphill walking but it is doable. All in all, we were very pleased with our accommodations.
- Tiina (10/5): Apartment Gordana / August 2016 - The hostessess are most welcoming and super helpful and the boxer Misty was also cute! :) The apartment was clen and everything we needed. It situated very well, maybe 15 min walk to old town and new port, but if you have problems with walking, you might want to take a bus because its uphill from the old town to apartment. I Can recommend this place :)
- Liz (10/5): Very friendly - Stayed 4 nights, very comfortable apartment with everything you need. As Dubrovnik is rather hilly be prepared for lots of steps up snd down, not a bad thing to burn all those ice creams off! Gordana and her sister Doris are lovely friendly ladies who make you feel very welcome and at home. I will definitely stay again when visiting Dubrovnik.
- Veikko (8/5): Good apartment in Dubrovnik - Little bit hard to find. Lots of stairs to climb. Old town is easy to reach by bus.
- Amy (10/5): Fantastic hotel and lovely hosts - We cannot recommend this hotel enough. The ladies who run it are incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make our trip as good as it could be. When we arrived we were shown the best places to go and how to get around on the buses. I became ill with a chest infection during our stay and they took me to the pharmacy and hospital, made me food and gave me herbal teas to make me better - it made me able to enjoy our holiday. The room is really clean and has everything you could need and the terrace has a beautiful view. Several supermarkets really nearby as well as pharmacies, etc. Walking down to Old Town is a really easy 10/15 minute walk, but as the walk back to the hotel is uphill and lots of stairs would advise getting the bus - but it's only £1.50 and goes from right outside Old Town. If you're staying in Dubrovnik this hotel is an amazing bargain, you get so much more than you pay for!
- Valentina (8/5): Accoglienza meravigliosa! Ci ritornerei molto volentieri!
- kar mei (8/5): Homely stay! - Very friendly and hospitable hosts Gordana and Doris. Welcome and farewell drinks and helped with arranging taxi to the airport and provided loads of information. Clean and homely stay with kitchenette facility.
- tomi (8/5): I'd stay here again - Clean, air con, easy to find and Gordana is really nice and friendly. The place is close to the old town, maybe 10min walk. Bus stop is also near. There are a LOT of steps because the apartment is much higher than the old town, so keep that in mind if you have walking difficulties. Overall nice place that I can recommend
- Verified traveler (8/5): Tar velig personal - Bra och positivt.
Supermercado a 10 min andando. Gordana y su hermana son encantadoras.Nuestra estancia ha sido un placer.
- Tannis (10/5): Perfect Dubrovnik Apartment - Apartment Gordana went above and beyond for all our needs! Perfect little space for a couple or friends, incredibly clean and close to both port and old town. The boxer pup 'Misty' is an absolute gem, and a friendly face every morning and night. Highly Recommended.
- Mr E R (8/5): Welcoming - Very friendly and welcoming, Gordona could not have been more helpful. Great stay, highly recommended!
- Lex (10/5): The friendliest place in town! - Although the apartment is a little off the beaten path, I give it my highest recommendation. The hostesses were super helpful and friendly, and the apartment is clean and comfortable.
- Piotr (10/5): Very pleasant stay - Very pleasant stay.
- Jo (8/5): Nice apartment - The apartment is clean and nice, ideal for a short stay in Dubrovnik. It is a good 20-25 min walk to Old Town although there's a couple of markets nearby.
- Love to travel (10/5): Fantastic!!!!! - The location is great - only a few bust stops from old town. The hosts are lovely, they were very welcomig, priovided us with a lot of helpful information and even offered us traditional treats and liquors. It honestly felt like staying with family, with that said they were very respectful of our space. It was FANTASTIC!
- Verified traveler (8/5): A walk away but worth it. - We decided to walk to Gordana; this does involve a lot of steps but it was easy enough to find the road we needed. It isn't particularly well signposted but we found it quite quickly.
We had the apartment for 3 of us (2 singles and a sofa bed) and we found it very comfy, there was adequate space and a beautiful view from the terrace. The kitchenette was in full working order (though completely bare, even of essentials such as oil, salt & pepper) as was the TV, which was needed for the World Cup Final.
Gordana was lovely, she helped us with directions and we didn't feel like she was ever present, despite living a few doors down.
- Verified traveler (10/5): This place was awesome - The lady who owned the place was so nice! I came in with a cough and she made me some mint tea and gave me some medicine. I felt so welcome. Stay here if you get the chance!
- Magnus (10/5): Fantastisk service - Fantastic service, great host and feeling very welcome. Big nice rooms, with kitchen, living room and bedroom. Just 20 minutes walk from old town.
- Elena (10/5): Nice apartment in Dubrovnik - Had a really lovely week here. Good value, clean, close enough to walk to the beach and the old town. The owner was really lovely and welcoming and went out of her way to help us and make us comfortable. Only complaint was that the hot water sometimes ran out, but would still certainly recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (2/5): My not so pleasant to stay - First off this place isn't close to the city center. To get there is a pain in itself. Dubrovnik land of stairs and to get to this apartment is no different. There is no label outside to find the apartment. No one answered the doorbell. I had to just open a gate and start shouting hello. The rooms state that you get wifi. That was a lie. Only place wifi was found was in the hall between rooms. I had to leave my room for it to work in a 5 foot radius outside. The showers stay on hot for 5 min than cold! Never had wifi in my room until mid last day. Don't not stay here!
- Alexander (10/5): - Very nice apartment and owner. Good district is not far from beaches and attractives.
- Gaucho Diesel (10/5): Cheap, clean and great access to old Dubrovnik - A great place to stay, within walking distance of the old city of Dubrovnik.
Several people mentioned the stairs being a problem, but to be honest, if you can't handle stairs, then old Dubrovnik probably isn't for you! The hotel is set on a hill side and does have stairs. The walk to the old city is down a lot of stairs too and takes about 20 minutes. We generally walked down and got a taxi back (about 10 Euros one way).
The owner is super friendly and helpful, the room was clean and we even had a small kitchen and living room to boot.
If you want somewhere cheap, clean and quirky to stay, with parking, then this is the place!
Be aware your sat nav will try to take you up a footpath, which is the 'street' the hotel is on. Just for info, if you head for Od Gaja #street#, you can come in to the hotel from the top of the stairs and the owner will show you where to park from here.
- Attila (10/5): Apartment Gordana was fabulous - Roza was wonderful , and looked after us well. The care and friendliness she showed, was super. My wife and I will be heading back to stay at apartments Gordana.
- Graeme Cross (6/5): - dorris is a very nice lady and very friendly n helpfull but i still have a few little complaints. Location its has a nice view but you have to walk up a lot of steps and its tiring in the heat.the bedroom would have been nice next to the air con not otherwise and the you have to force the fridge to close it properly.
