• Hotspots123 (10/5): Ultra Clean Boutique Rooms - This boutique hotel just steps away from the Colosseum. Practical for distancing from other guests as each room enters off of an ancient courtyard. Very clean small rooms with ensuite. Restaurant just outside the hotel makes a practical eat stroll and back to hotel. Or just sit in the courtyard after dinner. The staff were friendly and accommodating. i took a taxi tour of Rome which the hotel arranged for me.
• sunnygirl1972_13 (10/5): Fantastic location next to the Roman Forum & the Colleseum - Hidden away in an old building next to the Roman Forum this is a little gem of a hotel. If you don't mind quirky but like comfortable & clean then this is the hotel for you. The bed was comfortable & the shower refreshing. There was a little noise in room 404 from an extractor fan from a restaurant nextdoor which was located outside the window but we were so exhausted from walking all day that we slept through the noise. There was alot of information about local attractions & the receptionist was very friendly & helpful, with perfect English language skills. There was a lovely restaurant across from the hotel entrance which did a delicious breakfast. We will be returning.
• niamhc589 (8/5): Perfect Location - If you're like my partner and myself, we enjoy a really busy city break. We spent minimal time in the hotel, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Although basic facilities, the location was absolutely perfect! Minutes away from the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia, but also very convenient for a relaxing walk to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and even the Vatican! The kind lady on reception on the day we arrived allowed us to have our room early and sat with us and a map, to mark our places of interest, important roads for us to stick to and best places to eat like a local. It was this touch which made our stay so good. A bit of time and some refurbishment is definitely needed in the rooms but we were always well rested for our next busy day, so we cannot complain!!!

It’s not too pricey and again the location is great, no need for public transport! Restaurants and bars just outside the hotel also! The bed was comfy, room was average, but we’d definitely recommend :)
• Brennen (10/5): Best experience - Be prepared,if you arrive after 5:00pm the front desk is gone. They have a sign on the door to call them, and then they guide you through a door code to enter the main lobby,of which might be the entry to your room,& might not due to the hotel has two entrances to two different sections of the hotel.There are four rooms from the lobby entrance,& 8-9 in the other building which is literally a 40 second walk.They’ll tell you where to find your room key at the front desk,& you’ll use this code to enter the doorway to the hotel whenever the front desk is closed. always after 5:00pm.The envelope with the key,also has instructions for WiFi, which only works in your room,not elevator & not in the lobby. It also explains where your room is exactly.Very easy to get in & out,location is the BEST! Rooms are clean,some bigger than others.I had a French bed, was firm, but slept well on it.Some rooms have a balcony,some a view of piazza Venezia.There are restaurants surrounding the hotel,snack shops,& the ancient Roman forum, & colesseo are within a 3 minute walk.Price very reasonable,noise Level was so so.Depends on what side of the hotel you’re on. Mine faced the outdoor restaurants area facing piazza Venezia.But I always sleep with ear plugs & It was perfect.But the windows keep the noise level way down anyway. Air condition was the best!Easy check In,I came down next day, gave them my passport and all. I recommend this place to couples and or if you’re solo. I was amazed. I’ll return
• TrevD (8/5): Minimalist option at the heart of ancient Rome - but beware no 24 hour check in - This hotel is located on a side street about two minutes from the Colosseum, so its an ideal tourist base. The entrance is very strange - looks like a garage door. It was so strange that when I got there I was doubting the google maps location. One potentially big negative is that check in is open for business hours only. So if you arrive after 5pm or if you happen to lose your key fob you are going to have to make a phone call to get in. It's a no frills hotel with clean rooms and good A/C. No breakfast is available but there are vending machines for snacks and coffee. There is an abundance of places to eat nearby. My room was in the courtyard which looked a bit like a mini construction site as two other rooms were under construction. No work was taking place however. Being generous the courtyard was untidy - others might consider it a health and safety hazard. An hour of tidying up would have made the place look a lot more presentable. On the upside the room was really quiet. The hotel itself seems to have a range of rooms at ground level and possibly some more in an adjacent building. So overall, a really good location with the restrictive check in arrangements being a potential inconvenience.

• rislove123 (10/5): Everything we needed - The accommodations were exactly what we needed for a great price—we had air conditioning, a comfy bed, and big tv. It was perfect to get back to after walking around the city all day. The concierge was extremely kind and friendly, we loved her! As others have stated, the WiFi was a little wonky, but honestly, we’ve noticed it’s been wonky all over Italy—I don’t this it’s the hotel itself. I can’t remember the number of our room—but it had the most incredible view outside. It was absolutely stunning.
• iand313 (6/5): Basic hotel in prime location - This property as they suggest only have reception cover from 8.30 to 4.30 so if you arrive later you need to get in, collect keys and instructions and go find your room in either the of the two buildings. Not a big issue but be aware. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms basic but comfortable. Clean and kept clean. Many restaurants and bars right outside the door. But the best thing you are right in the tourist area for all the roman buildings from 2000 plus years. Colosseum, forum in 3-5 minutes and Parthenon 15. Great location.
• Ian (8/5): Comfortable and where you want to be! - With no reception after 4.30pm it was difficult to find the room but once in all good. The room is basic but comfortable but the location is the best! Right outside the door you have a choice of 10 places to eat within 50 metres. The best is you are right where you need to be for the history, turn left and left again and you will say wow!

• Saarisgrove (6/5): Nice stay - Me and my partner stayed here earlier in the month and we had a very enjoyable stay. Staff was very welcoming when we arrived and was happy to answer any questions we had. The room was a decent size. Plenty of storage space and has a nice little terrace. Large bed which was comfy. Bathroom has an amazing power shower! Towels were replaced and room was cleaned every morning. The rooms are in need of a bit of a fix up. A few drawers didn’t close tidy and cracks and holes in the walls here and there from doors. And no mirror in the bedroom. Only in the bathroom right above a little sink with no unit, which as a woman I found quite difficult doing my hair and make up. The hotel is very central. The colosseum is less than 10 minute walk away and only short of 20 minutes from the Trevi Fountain. There are also plenty of restaurants right outside the hotel to eat out at. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. For a cheap short stay in Rome, this hotel is ideal.
• cwatki123 (8/5): Great location, great price, average hotel - My partner and I stayed here with my parents for a cheap little city break. The hotel has a few things going for it: it’s very clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming, it’s in a great location, the beds were comfy, rooms serviced daily including fresh towels and toiletries and it was very very reasonably priced. There are a few things that they need to work on: it is a bit worn and rough around the edges in places, but that said, everything worked. The room we stayed in was actually a little ‘cottage’ in the garden and the cottage itself was nice, if not a bit tired, but the garden was in a bit of a mess. The annoying thing about the garden is it would only take two or three people a day to really make it nice - a real opportunity missed. The room my parents were in was much nicer than ours, upstairs in the main building. It generally felt much better quality all round. They could spend a small amount of money and make this place excellent, but as it stands it’s mainly the price that makes it worth staying here. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would, if it was as reasonably priced.
• VERONICA (10/5): Fantastic hotel near the Coliseum! - We were so pleased with our stay! The attention from the staff was outstanding always wanting to help. The wifii didn’t work well in our room but we could work with the one from the lobby area.
• AayushiJainNY (4/5): We were dissappointed with our stay! - The only good thing about this place is it's location. All of the major Roman sights are at throw away distance from the hotel. There's also few good eateries in the vicinity. The hotel's room is way smaller than it appeared in the pictures, the bed was very uncomfortable. We stayed here for 2 nights, the first night when we arrived the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. The trash can was tossed and towels had hair on them. There was barely any space in the room to walk, very cramped space. We couldn't complain as we arrived late at the hotel and there was no one at the concierge. The staff wasn't very involved either. The bathroom was extremely small and uncomfortable to use.
• Alex (10/5): - The hotel was kind of hidden. Excellent location next to the colloseum and the Roman Forum. Dining right around the corner. The room was great. Modern amenities and the staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
• Joseph (6/5): - The room had quite clearly suffered from flooding in the past. The plaster was coming away from the wall above the skirting board, the skirting boards were showing signs of water damage and were split and rotting. One of the doors into the courtyard was hung on only one hinge, the locking mechanism was also damaged so it wouldn't properly lock / seal, the outside of the doors needed a coat of varnish to restore them (though this is a minor detail). The bathroom door had clearly been forced back in the past and the bottom hinge had been torn out of the door. The hotel has invested in proximity fobs for unlocking doors and controlling the electrical circuits in the rooms, whilst I fully support this as a measure to ensure we are all more environmentally friendly and a measure to avoid price rises, I feel that the fridge being turned on and off by this system has not been considered as it prevents the fridge from working effectively. Despite my above observations I've thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel (again) and find it to be reasonably priced. The hotel is in a superb location and its staff really are its greatest asset. The hotel will hopefully experience some maintenance works by its parent company in the near future as it doesn't seem to have had any for some time (a coat of paint and weeding of the garden would work wonders).
• PHONG (6/5): Good location, too much noices - Amazing location, friendly staffs, super clean and modern, just one major negative this is that the Spanish restaurant downstairs is super loud, noises through out the night, even shutting the door, notices are still loud, very difficult to sleep. Recommend earplugs
• Kel (8/5): - Hotel is in a fab location right by the Roman Forum. Myself and my husband were given room 203 on the 2nd floor which had an amazing view right on to the Forum. We also had a spiral staircase in our room which led up to the biggest bath tub I’ve ever seen. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our long weekend in Rome. The room and bathroom just needed a lick of paint to freshen it up however this is only a 3 star hotel and is definitely value for money. The main plus point about this hotel is the location. When you leave the hotel and walk to the main road by the forum, you can see the Colosseum at the end of the street. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, they had no problem with letting us check in a few hours early so we could then go out and explore. I would definitely return here.
• Karishmapatel98 (10/5): Perfect location & amazing service from staff - The hotel was located in the perfect place with restaurants right outside the hotel, 2 minuet walk from the strip of shops,restaurants and bars. The coliseum was less than a 10 minuet walk, the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. She helped with getting around and answering all our questions, would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again.
• jackhK8350VM (8/5): Great Location and Service - We found this hotel to be a great balance of location, service and price. Our ground floor room was fairly quite and comfortable. There is no 24-hour staff or room service, but we didn't want or expect that level of service. Super easy access to the major sites in the old part of town. If you have a mobility disability, this may be a good option if you request a ground floor room. We used a mobility scooter with no problem. Inquire about the ability to roll into a shower - it could be a bit tight for that - and there were no grab bars. Otherwise, a green light for mobility access.

With the old roman centre on the door step, it's a great launchpad for exploring the rich roman history and culture. Surrounded by lively restaurants and coffee bars. Its understated style and casual ambience is convenient for couples and families. Rooms are minimalist (perhaps too minimalist...). There is a noticeable lack of maintenance in the rooms, with scratches in the walls and some non-operational functional elements (for example, lamps). While its location is perfect, you have to consider that it is also extremely noisy

• DagmarJ952 (8/5): Little place by the Colosseum. - This is small hotel in a great location. Little cafes near are great for morning croissants or cappuccino, do prepare yourself for big crowds of people around you every day. Of course, that comes with that great location! We didn't like the first room, because we asked for separate beds and it looked very beaten up. We waited couple days for room with 2 beds became available. We didn't mind. Maria Vittoria was there our all stay, she helped us with everything, she took care of everything and was really sweet. Also for some reason I was thinking there is coffee and croissants in a morning, there was nothing. It may have been my fault, not sure. The second room was lovely. Let me tell you, if we come back to this hotel, it will be for the best customer service from Maria and we would want the newer rooms. She was really great. Thank You Maria, thank You Rome, thank You Italy!
• nicomorix (8/5): Excellent location, good value for money - The location was really excellent, on Fori Imperiali avenue, just in front of Massenzio Basilica. The place was quite, notwithstanding the restaurants and cafes under the window. It was nice to wake up and see the fori imperiali in front of me, 1000 years of history. It was a bit complicated to check in after h:17, because the reception closes at that time. I only had a message on my mobile (with very low battery). Anyway nothing really impossible. I would have like to have something to hank my clothes in the room, there was really NOTHING. I used the television!! Also the shower knob was broken and having a shower was a bit complicated, but nothing that could not be managed. All in all good value for money

• damiens160 (10/5): Great location - Lovely little hotel, value for money, amazing location , I could actually see the Roman forum from my window, colosseum about 5 min walk away, perfectly located to be able to do every major site in Rome on foot(if your not afraid of walking like) only thing That’s slightly out of the way is the Vatican but I did actually walk back from there and was only like 30mins. Staff are super friendly and helpful, rooms basic but modern and clean ... and there’s such a selection of bars and restaurants a stones throw away. Would highly recommend
• O5155SOeds (10/5): Excellent and convenient location - Hotel is located strategically where you can Walk to almost 80% of the popular tourist destinations in Rome. Termini station is 20 minutes walk and there is also a metro station which is 7 minutes walk away. The Coliseum And Roman forum archeological site is just 100 meters away. Victoria at the front desk is filled with travel tips and useful information And she was super helpful in helping us find our way around the city. The hotel is situated in a convenient area filled with a variety of amazing restaurants and clubs to choose from. Please check out Restorante Antica Roma ( Ask for Mimeo ) located 3 minute walk away from the hotel for an amazing selection of seafood and pasta. Black Market Is a cool bar with an bohemian ambience which is about 10 minutes walk. Hotel has been a great choice !
• Whitoni (8/5): Perfect Location - You can't go wrong with the location of this place it's perfect. The hotel itself is great, it provided a perfect base to explore Rome which is a fantastic city. The rooms are a good size with good facilities nothing to complain about there. I'm not sure if the hotel has the space but it would be great to see a breakfast service. Also the WIFI needs looking at as its really poor. Other than that this place is excellent.
• 244rosemarym (10/5): Just what we were looking for - The location is wonderful. Close to the airport but far enough away that you do not have any noise. The rooms are beautifully appointed and beds are very comfortable. Alex and Marco are lovely hosts! The breakfast that the hosts served every morning was very European, carefully prepared for our taste and like the rest of the hotel, a lot of attention was paid to details.We would definitely stay there again.

The room was a bit on the small side but very clean and modern with a very nice bathroom. Helpful staff who pointed out places to visit and eat that were off the beaten track. Downside no amenities in the room so could not make a cup of tea/coffee which would have been nice.

The reception staff are very hospitable and cannot do enough for you. The only area lacking is tea and coffee facilities. All you need from a city type hotel.
• Deb (4/5): Bed bugs - Entrance is hard to find, and it's not the usual hotel format. Staff very friendly and helpful, good wifi, rooms seemed clean. Location, great! But woke up to find our bodied covered with bites, my husband and I over 20 bites each from room 404. Also the breakfast buffet is no buffet. We each got a croissant and a coffee. Second coffee not available without buying.

• Leanne (8/5): Well located and clean hotel. - We had a good stay here. The staff were friendly and the room was of a good size with a balcony door leading to an outdoor seating area. Restaurants close by and not far from the Colosseum.
• Joseph (6/5): Lovely hotel close to the Colosseum - Lovely hotel I've used for three years. It's recently undergone a change in ownership and some of the charm has been lost. On the whole I had yet another pleasant experience and doubt I could find anywhere else in the location for the price that would be of the same standard.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointingly unhelpful. - The room was tiny, however it was very clean and the location was amazing. We had a few issues the toilet constantly running, the hot tap handle falling off and the wardrobe door not closing, most of which were fixed promptly (by day 2) but unfortunately the wardrobe door was not which doesn't sound like a big deal but in such a small room it did make an annoying difference. Having said this after the initial disappointment we did agree that we would stay again if ever in rome again, the staff were friendly the breakfast great and the hotel very clean. On the day before our departure we asked the reception to order us a taxi for the airport which they said would be no problem and would cost us €50 which surprised us as we had read previously that authorities in rome have set a flat rate of €30 for a taxi fare to the airport and is also advertised on the side of all the taxis we had seen, when we asked about this the hotel refused to book us one of these insisting that the taxi they would book us would be bigger and better, we didn't need bigger as only two of us and we did not want better, whatever that meant! As a result of this we managed to find our own way using the metro and airport bus and it only cost us €11 euros for the two of us. We found this to be a very disappointing end to our stay it felt dishonest and shady and as a result I would not recommend to others and would not stay again.
• Andrew (6/5): Once finished, will be nice! - Great location. This will be nice when they finish the building works, which were not mentioned when this hotel was booked through hotels.com! There were a number of 'issues' on my arrival but the staff were good and I was only there for a few hours (late night arrival, early morning start), I would not have been so pleased if I was staying longer. The room was OK but there are clearly building works going on and the room was not finished completely. Room was very bare but the shower worked and bed was OK, which are the main things. Struggled with the WIFI as there were about 15 ones to choose from and late at night I gave up. Not the worst place but not the best either. however for the cost and the location I would visit again but would check it was finished first.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Mid week break - Lovely hotel. Reception is around the corner from the entrance bit it didn't bother us. Staff were lovely and always able to help. The room was lovely with a mezzanine level with a giant bath and TV. Bed was comfy and rooms were cleaned daily. Location was ideal opposite collesseum and Roman forum. Plenty of places to eat right outside the door.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Fantastic location - A little tricky to find as it's hidden behind restaurants and a petrol forecourt. The staff were helpful and very friendly. The only let down was there was no wifi available in the room.

• Val (8/5): Centrally located hotel - Small hotel in process of moving round corner so minor hiccups with facilities. However, hotel is in excellent location for Colisseum and Forum. Also many restaurants nearby. Metro is five minutes walk( next to Colisseum) and is ten minutes from Termini railway station.
• cat in new york (6/5): Touring rome - I loved the location and one of the front desk personal, a lovely lady was fantastic at offering suggestions for restaurants, what to see and do. The other 2 gentleman not so helpful in fact one one no English. The room was cleaned okay but the bathroom was a big problem some mildew on the curtain. Hard to have a proper shower when the water runs out of the area onto to the floor. Small room but okay. I think I would not stay again and definitely not recommending it.

• Dean (10/5): Hotel De Rome - Can't get any closer. - VERY CLOSE to the Forum and the Coliseum! any closer and you would be IN THE FORUM!! Stayed in a nice two room suite plenty of room for three or four! Breakfast was not elaborate but more than adequate even for our gluten free traveler. Front desk (Fabio!) was wonderful in providing unsolicited advice for making the most out of our stay with tips on transportation, safety, and events in the area. He was also very accommodating on storing our luggage and allowing us to come back to the hotel to stage for our final by train departure. I would highly recommend this hotel and their staff. Tip: it is hard to see the hotel when your cab pulls up, plus two doors away is the Hotel Roma - which can be confusing. So, when you pull up to the curb there are several large outdoor cafes, then behind that the Hotel Roma, Hotel Richmond and then your Hotel de Rome. Tip2: Save tour of Forum/Palentine Hill/Coliseum for day you travel out of hotel with afternoon transport. after your 3 hour tour you can easily refresh, get lunch, gather baggage and head out!
• Erica (2/5): Not what it appears to be online - When we first looked at it online we thought it was going to be a cool place to stay. When we arrived, we had a hard time finding it behind the strip of restaurants. We walked in and it wasn't anything like we expected. The lobby was dark and dingy with cracks in the ceiling and walls. The concierge wasn't at the desk and we had to call into the back for him. He still didn't come out for a few minutes following that. Once he finally did, we felt like we were inconveniencing him by needing to check in. We had to wait for about 45 minutes for our room to be ready even though we had told Expedia to tell the hotel we would have to check in earlier than 2pm. Finally got our room, walked down the hallway and the ceiling lights were an awful yellow that hurt our eyes. There were missing ceiling tiles and it seemed like the whole place was under construction. Our room was odd but it worked fine for one night. I felt uncomfortable with the window and door leading to the patio because there was no extra lock on it to ensure that nobody could get into our room since we were on the first floor. They advertise free wifi, which doesn't reach to the room. So we were only able to connect to wifi (which was extremely slow) when sitting in the lobby which wasn't ok for us because we needed to check into our flight and reach our families in the US. Overall, I don't recommend this hotel at all. We wanted to leave as soon as we arrived. Stay somewhere else!
• Brittany (6/5): Like an IKEA hotel - Hotel de Rome was just okay. It was right around the corner from the Colosseum, which is why we booked it. No view from the room though, and on a very busy and noisy street. Wifi was practically nonexistent, which made double checking our tours/flights, etc difficult. Everything in the room is very modern, kind of like Ikea. Everything somehow fits into a very small space, but overall low quality. Our shower handle fell off every time we used it, but easily put it back on. A night light remains on within the bathroom at all times, which was annoying as we would have preferred it to be all dark as we adjusted to time differences. The concierge was incredibly helpful - every restaurant she recommended we thoroughly enjoyed. They also assisted us in calling a cab to the airport, etc. Breakfast was our least favorite out of our hotels within Italy. They americanized it, american coffee, ham instead of prosciutto, scrambled eggs, etc. The other hotels gave an authentic Italian breakfast.

• Luz M. (10/5): perfect location - This was my second trip to Rome. The first time I stayed in a hotel that advertise as being walking distance from almost everywhere. That was not true. When I booked this hotel that was one of my fears. This hotel allowed me to save so much money in cabs and the subway. Everything was walking distance. I took the subway from the termini station and walked to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful with deciding a dinning place. The breakfast in the morning was intimate and delicious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Rome. Next time I would stay for more nights.
• Mohd Al-Hafiz (8/5): Very Clean, Location nearby Colloseum - It was a decent hotel. Rooms were okay for me but some may find it small. Clean. I had nothing to complaint. Just a little problem i faced. During my whole of 5nights stay, maybe 3 days we had problems with the water supply. Low pressure to no water at all. But it was restored in about 15minutes. Im not that fussy but just an area to improve and it will definitely be better! And its definitely a good area/neighbourhood to stay in. 5mins walk to the colloseum,roman forum, Vittorio Emmanuel ànd other sites. Nearby termini. Just 2 stops away. It was a pleasant stay overall. Thanks!

• lee (8/5): Great location, room wasn't cleaned - Hotel de Rome is in a great location, we basically walked everywhere from the hotel. Staff are lovely, really welcoming Our room was small but comfortable, only slept there as spent most of the day sightseeing. Only downside was that it was quite noisy, had a lot of banging throughout the night and early morning. Think it was because restaurant underneath being renuvated . Also our room wasn't cleaned during our short stay which was disappointing Overall though decent hotel for what we paid
• Verified traveler (4/5): Not a 4 star hotel ! ! - This hotel was rated as 4 star but no way!! I rate it as 3 star!! There was a man at the reception and he was helpful but from the next day there was a lady who was cold and not really helpful. My room was quite close to the reception and you can hear someone listening to radio or CD plus singing at 3:10 in the morning!! Room was OK size but the shower room was dirty. It did not flush well so the dirty blackish water started to over flow the shower room floor!! Bed was OK. There was so much noise coming through from the reception area and can be irritating every night. Breakfast was good enough if you are staying one day or two. If you stay then you know what I mean about the 4 star rating. Do not get fooled into thinking that you are going to stay in a 4 star hotel because it SHOULD be 3 star!!

Check in very smooth and quick we were upgraded to a lovely large room with balcony. Excellent shower room which was spotlessly clean. TV did not work initially however was fixed during the day whilst we were out. Breakfast room clean and well stocked, with a very jolly lady overseeing it. Common areas a bit tired and main automatic door did not work during our stay. However faultless location and staff service made up for these flaws.

Only complaint in room was dirty shower curtain. Helpful staff. Double glazing successfully blocked out the traffic. Would stay here again and have already recommended to friends.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Bearable - The hotel was very close to everything so location was fantastic with wonderful restaurants right on your doorstep however the room was small and a but rough around the edges but you would expect that as was quite cheap. No English TV stations and no ironing board or iron and no phone for reception.

(10/5): A lovely Hotel, perfectly situated with very friendly staff - A perfectly situated hotel, just turn left at the bottom of the road, and you can see the Colosseum, with the Forum right in front of you. So easy to walk almost anywhere, so saw so much of this wonderful city. A superb hotel, very clean, comfortable with friendly and very helpful staff. Breakfast was great. Stayed 3 nights, but wish we had stayed longer. .

• ml (4/5): Not so trendy - The photos for the hotel are nicer than it actually is. The shower leaked, the tap handles were broken and they didnt fix them when we told them and their was mold and water spots throughout the bathroom. Our view and location was great but the room itself was plain white not trendy or funky as seen in photos, small and very uncomfortable. I had been in Italy for 21 days all over and this was by far the most uncomfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast we a bit more than typical italian breakfast but the scrambled eggs were cold each morning. hot plate wasnt kept warm. They did serve fresh hot croissants each morning though with the small buffet.

• George K (4/5): Very small attic-like room - We stayed with my wife for 2 nights at the end of June 2014. We got the double-room with Queen bed for about $175 per night. We would not stay here again or recommend this place. We knew the room will be small but it was on the third floor and only had a tiny skylight so it felt like an attic. This is a very small hotel and I have no idea why it is 4 stars, feels like no more than 3 for sure. The location is OK but would probably not pick this area next time.

• Roman holiday (10/5): Location, location, location - The location is great - right in the heart of the Forum/Colosseum area. I was initially unhappy considering the very cramped size of our room, but the view and location are where the money goes. It is your typical European hotel - very compact, but had great little features like the bedside lights and the nightlight in the bathroom. Walls were scuffed up, but no surprise given the tight quarters - had to move my luggage to the front door at night to be able to walk from the bed to the bathroom without tripping. Breakfast included was a nice bonus. I'd stay there again.

Several really nice restaurants right outside the hotel. Really nice, modern, spacious, rooms, totally redone. Awesome outside patio in the back which was really relaxing. Staff was very nice, and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Definitely a hidden gem in the sea of hotels in Rome.
• Ali H (8/5): Comfy beds - Super hotel - extremely comfy memory foam mattresses. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast is great.. Location is just 5mins from the Colosseum and in front of reasonably priced restaurants. Location is quite given its central location but by no means sound proofed. Wifi connection was disappointing.
• Beth (8/5): Perfect location; large for European hotel room - We enjoyed the unique decorations of this hotel, but even more so we liked the location. It's perfect. You can walk anywhere--and we did. We didn't get a cab once, and easily saw everything we wanted to see in Rome. The size of the room was great, too--small for an American hotel, but large for a European hotel, with a full size bathroom and a great walk-in shower. The staff was friendly and all knew English, including the night staff. Also, wifi was free and quite good. Our only negative: we arrive in late April, and it was rather warm (high 70s to mid 80s F). But the air conditioning unit, while present, wasn't turned on for the hotel, so therefore didn't work. That sucked--we were on the ground floor, and our only access to fresh air were the patio doors that opened onto the courtyard. I didn't feel safe falling asleep with my doors open to a semi-public area, so it got quite stuffy in my room at night.
• David (8/5): Close to all key attractions - A bit difficult to find. clean and well presented, but very limited facilities. No bar or restaurant. Limited communal areas. Nice restaurant outside. Good choice of places to eat/drink nearby. You can see several key attractions from outside. Friendly staff. Priced at top of band or facilities.
• hannah (4/5): Great location. Mouldy room. - The room we were placed in was small, had mould in the bathroom and around the window, the bed was hard as a rock and the blind was broken. Staff at first refused to move us to another room, but eventually did. Some members of staff were brilliant and helpful but on the most part rude and unaccomadating.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible. Stay elsewhere. - They first put us up in the only room on the third floor which is most aptly described as an attic. With such low ceilings, my 6 ft boyfriend couldn't even stand at one end of the room. There were no windows and no closet. There were holes in the wall, and the handle for hot water kept coming off. We complained and asked for a new room, but they seemed reluctant to give us another room. They told us that they were fully booked and didn't have enough rooms. We then asked to be put in the next room that was checked out, but they said that nobody would be checking out during our stay. However, they magically found a room for us after 15 min of complaining, and we soon found out why they hesitated to offer this room. Although the room at first glance felt like a typical hotel room, it was simply unacceptable. The window was broken such that we were unable to close it when it got cold at night (it was early November at the time), and the shower flooded the entire bathroom floor every time it was used. We confronted the front desk about the window, and the employee simply shrugged and told us that they were aware. We asked for the window to be fixed since they clearly had construction going on in other parts of the hotel, but when we returned 12 hours later, nothing had been done. The window was not fixed until the night before our departure. This hotel simply does not deserve 4 stars. The only consolation is its close proximity to the Collesseum and Roman Forum.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Its all about the location! - This hotel is the best for location - just 2 mins from Colosseum!!!! you just walk out of the hotel take a few steps then whoa! there's the Colosseum! i don't think u could find a better location for a hotel!!!! staff lovely and friendly, very helpful with all enquiries! decor nice and room ok too. breakfast buffet poor but like i say, can't beat the location! would definitely go back!
