Guest Reviews
- Mikaela (8/5): - The view from the hotel room was fabulous. Overall it was a good stay. However, the rooms could use some work. The walls were crumbing apart, the bathroom was rather moldy and the tiles behind the toilet were falling. The staff was nice. It's a very busy street and can be difficult to find the hotel at first. They don't have a sign and on the buzzer it was under a different name than the hotel. All the walking tours would line up and meet right at the doors as well.
- Teddy (10/5): - Amazing location and views! Numerous restaurants to choose from. Highly recommend Propaganda. Very convenient taxi stand at the end of the short block. Lively entertainment around the Colosseum. If you miss this gem you’re missing out.
- Charles (10/5): - Owner and staff were wonderful. Location was excellent.
- Rene (8/5): - Beautiful view
- Christina (10/5): - Beautiful loft. Would highly recommend.
- Deb (4/5): - The AC does not work properly. Makes noise all the time. The mattress is super hard! Needs to be upgraded. Plus side, excellent view of the colosseo.
- Strixami (6/5): Amazing views and location - My husband and I stayed here one night on our trip to Rome. We absolutely loved the room (once we were able to find it; we got quite lost on the way). The view of the colosseum was breathtaking. We did have two issues though, one happened after we left regarding not getting the security deposit of 100 back and the other was at checkout, we lost track of the time change and housekeeping just walked right in without knocking. Otherwise, our stay was wonderful.
- 563nadeges (6/5): Good location - The location of this hotel is pretty sweet. It doesn't get any better than being directly across the street from the Colosseum! The room itself is ok size for two people; however, there was a tiny closet space. Our shower was pretty disgusting. There were black spots all over the tile. I speculate it to be mold/ mildew. Also, the water remained hot for only a few minutes. We were only there for one night, so we didn't bother to mention to the reception at check out. For me, this was unacceptable considering the price of the hotel.
- michael (10/5): Great location - amazing location and value for money. The room was far better than expected and we had absolutely no issues at all. 4th stay in Rome, I’ve tried other places (budget to expensive) Would definitely come back here. It’s perfect if you want a nice place to stay but are planning to be out and about the city most of the time.
- F543UMalexm (8/5): Exactly what we expected - I booked this place a while ago as we wanted to wake up to see the colluseum every day. Some of the reviews I've seen are frankly ridiculous. So easy to find just do research before you go to show what building it is and you are fine.
We stayed on the ground floor which wasn't ideal for us but the view and the fact we didn't have to go up any stairs after a long day actually worked in our favour. Yes the road is busy but we stayed for 3 nights and managed to sleep reasonably. It's not a normal hotel granted but if you are in Rome exploring it was a nice room to come back to for freshening up before dinner and to sleep. It was clean and fresh. Would I stay here again? Yes!
- Jessica (6/5): Good location but loud and inconvenient - There is no sign so the hotel is hard to find. The room was on the first floor with a taxi stand directly outside the window so it was very loud. Because it was on the first floor the shades could not be left open to see the view without people staring in. The location is very convenient. The bed was fairly comfortable and the staff was friendly enough
- Nien (2/5): - I hope this can be post!
這間除了景就只有景
沒有服務房間也舊超過時間check in 還要多收錢
更重要的是外面的電車經過很吵
- L. (8/5): - The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and spacious and the location was amazing. The only suggestion is that it needs a little maintenance. The walls in the kitchen need to be repainted and the shower walks have mold. Also, the walls are very thin and you can hear people in other apartments
We would stay here again!
- nickcM4267RJ (8/5): Fantastic - view of colosseum was exactly what we were looking for fantastic.housekeeping were great we weren’t sure if they would service everyday as is apartment building but they were there everyday. Would recommend this place if looking for a nice place to stay in Rome, they also stored bags for us on departure.
- LMA3003 (8/5): Anniversary break to Rome - The room was lovely and had a smart TV which we were pleased about. The building itself was easy to find but actually checking in was more tricky - there were no clear signs where the reception was. The view was absolutely amazing and within walking distance of nice restaurants and a supermarket round the corner. We did however not receive anything extra for our anniversary despite leaving a message when booking - not a huge deal but would have made our stay extra special.
- Fee (10/5): - Really comfy bed, welcoming and helpful staff, location worked really well for us. Bathroom was good.
- alihN3002KV (8/5): Its all about the view - As long as you understand that this is not a hotel, nor an apartment but is instead a well equipped room in an awe inspiring location, then you won't be disappointed. Yes, it does look a little tired in places but what you are paying for with these rooms is the view and it is worth every penny to draw your curtains open on a sunny morning to the view of Rome's most iconic structure.
The room was an adequate size with a good size en suite bathroom. There was a small cupboard in which both the wardrobe hanging space and the fridge and kettle were located. This was not ideal but I can see that it was space saving and didn't create too many problems. The place was reasonably clean and staff came in every day to make the bed and tidy up, our towels were also all changed once in a four night stay. A new air conditioning unit works well and is very quiet.
The road outside is a loud and busy one but the room we stayed in had a heavy glass door in front of the bay like window area which blocked out most of the noise. However, this was a bit of a struggle to pull across and could do with a bit of oil or maintenance.
Although this area of Rome is a good walk away from the more busy main areas of Rome (i.e. bars, shops, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps etc.) there are plenty of local bars and restaurants. There is also a pharmacy close by and breakfast cafes so with the added bonus of that view, it is a great location.
Expect a slightly tired room with everything you need for a short stay and you won't be disappointed. Then enjoy the view!
- Justin (10/5): - Beautiful view of the Colosseum and excellent staff.
- Eduardo (10/5): - Everything excellent. If I go again to Rome, for sure I will go to the same hotel
- kennethsV7292JI (8/5): Awesome! - Yes, the other people leaving reviews are correct, this place IS hard to find, yes, it IS NOT a typical American style hotel, but we LOVED IT! Our room window opened up to the great colosseum, we literally walked out the front door to the exact spot cabs would drop you off to tour the colosseum. Our “hotel room” was 2 floors! Upstairs was a bed and tv area and downstairs was another open area and the bathroom. Everything was clean and very nice. The WiFi was great. Our plane landed around 11:30 pm and we didn’t get there until about 1 am but they had someone there waiting on us and he was extremely nice and showed us our room and a lot of good tourist advice. Not sure about all the rooms, but we had 2018A I think and it was awesome. The only reason I can’t leave 5 stars was the A/C never cooled below 24, it would’ve been nice to be able to cool the room to American temperature, but other than that it was outstanding.
- Uzma (10/5): - Amazing view of the colosseum! Taxi rank is right outside... metro station is a 7 minutes walk. If you are planning to do laundry, the machine does not have a dryer. Check-in/out was very smooth, very friendly hosts.
- ardent2018 (2/5): false advertising- NOT a hotel or B&B. Run down apartment building. - It took over 30 minutes wandering the area to find this "hotel" as there are no signs or advertisement on the building or in the area. We asked the tourist info desk and they had never heard of it. When we finally found it, we realized this is not a hotel or a B&B. It is an old apartment building being rented out and advertised online as a hotel. Barely any office with no signage or staff to help. All 3 times we needed to visit the "office" during our one night stay, no one was there to help.
The room itself was not clean and had a bad smell throughout. The sink in the living room had a hole where the drain would be for water to fall through to the floor. It was hard to sleep at night since the room was so loud and you could hear other guests conversations from the room next door.
For 100 euros, you could get a MUCH better deal somewhere else. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great view, but that was about it. - I picked this hotel because of the view. You can't argue it was an AMAZING view. But the reception closes at 6:00 or 6:30 and they charge a fee for late check-in. The hotel texted me to coordinate check-in time and in the text said they would be there until 6:30, if I arrived after that, I would be charged 30 euro. We arrived at 6:15 and I was still charged the 30 euro late fee. The guy said it was because of the weekend. It wasn't until after the fact I checked my text and saw they communicated to me, in writing twice, that late fee would be charged after 6:30pm.
Aside from that, the shower was moldy and smelled of mildew. I wasn't sure if I was getting cleaner or dirtier showering in it. Other than that, the hotel was nice. For the one night we stayed there, I'd say it was OK because the view kinda made up for it.
- slox99 (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE!! - THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING! THIS IS NOT A HOTEL! This is an old apartment building that calls itself a hotel. They are open for 2 hours in the morning to check in and thats it! Our flight was delayed, when we arrived the "hotel" was closed and no one answered the door, phone, or refunded us any money. We had to go down the street to find a new hotel and no one had even heard of this place. HORRIBLE experience!!
- dickersn (8/5): Best location in the city - The location is directly across the street from the Colosseum although our room did not have a Colosseum view. To an American this property might not look like a hotel from the outside so it can be a little confusing. It is behind very large, wooden doors with no signs. Contact the manager in advance to ask which bell to ring. The room was large with an espresso (pod) machine and other amenities.
- Valerie (8/5): - The room was very similar to pictures on the website. We had a 2 floors room with bathroom and lounge in basement. Our room had a view on Colosseo as mentioned; which was great. But was its next to the street its noisy most of day/night. Few restaurant around (but expensive for breakfast) and there is a grocery store at 2 minutes walk.
As per expedia deal we had a free bottle of wine but its was half bottle only. There is a small refrigerator and an Nespresso machine. Internet connection is ok.
We had two majors disappointment with the room: 1) many very small flies in the room and bathroom 2) from the second day we had a very bad sewage smell in the room
The lady working at the desk was very nice and useful.
- SyedAqdas (10/5): a blast in the past - highly recommended that you book tickets inline to skip lines
This place is a must go re-live the roman times....ideally you should spare atleast half a day for this amazing place.. great views.. the audio guide was a bit irritating, however you should take it as otherwise you might not get to know a lot of history on your own.
- terry (2/5): - I was promised the "EGG ROOM" which had a window seat with a view of the Roman Colosseum. I got a room with a view, however, you had to stand at the window. And the room I got, even though I told them I had written confirmation, had a bathroom down a flight of stairs. The bathroom had drain flies all over it. Hundreds of them. it was disgusting trying to shower with bugs.
- DaisyLouise1991 (8/5): Rough around the edges but incredible view - Stayed in the ‘Egg’ room during a 4 day trip to Rome. The view is as unbelievable as the pictures make it look and that is what you are paying for when booking this room.
As apartments go I’ve stayed in much better.
The bed was uncomfortable, Road noise very loud given the busy location and all a little rough such as chips in glasses, marks on the walls, door did not auto lock etc.
Don’t let this put you off but I do feel with a slight bit more effort this apartment could be 5*
- Frances (6/5): Colossal noise near coloseo! - Facilities were good with comfortable bed - toiletries and coffee making m/c provided; very noisy position next to a busy junction, taxis waiting directly outside; trams running until at least 2am!!! Wouldn't stay there again, very difficult to get any decent sleep.
- Reynards42 (6/5): Location Location - Suite No 2 :- Ground floorish with view of south side of the Colosseum.
Well what to say about this home from home?
1. When booking make sure you select room with a view, otherwise you may not actually get this location.
2. There is a B&b option where you are brought breakfast to your apartment daily, make sure you include this at time of booking. If you don’t or are not bother excellent local supermarket in the next street (45 metres away), where you can stock up.
3. Each suite is a self contained apartment, with excellent bathroom, living area, and fridge, for milk juice etc. There is a kettle and coffee machine with limited stocks provided. Cups glasses and even some cutlery, (but no knife, for cutting bread rolls).
4. Towels are provided, along with shower gel and shampoo.
5. There is a safe, free WiFi, and a smart Tv.
6. Good selection of restaurants in the locality, the ones off the main drag offer better value for money.
This clean comfortable apartment, is in an excellent location on the Main Street opposite the colosseum, 5mins stroll from the metro, and right next to a taxi rank. As you might expect this can be a noisy location, but to be honest it is a small price to pay. The hop on bus service stops just around the corner at Palentine Hill entrance. The room is serviced daily, with rubbish being removed and towels changed as required.
I would have given this great apartment five stars if not for a couple of small issues.
1. Despite reporting one off the lamps not working on our first day, it still remained unrepaired throughout the week. (Not a massive problem).
2. There seems to be an issue with a small infestation of tiny moth flies, (in bathroom, and downstairs seating area).
3. The internal decor could do with freshening up. (Lots of marks on the wall).
A small piece of advise to those thinking of staying here, suite 2 has a set of stairs, lending down to the bathroom, and lower seating area, and is accessed by several steps from the main entrance corridor. This may be a problem for people with mobility issues.
Overall loved our stay, would recommend to my friends who are looking for value for money, with comfort, and location in mind.
- ruthj2018 (4/5): Photo's are very deceiving, only thing good is that the staff are friendly and the location is ideal. - First room we were put in was totally unacceptable. There was mould around the shower from only have a small window for ventilation no extractor fan. The grouting and shower unit was also very dirty. I went in the shower for 10 mins and then came out and my partner tried to go but the water had gone cold, so he had to wait to have a shower. Walls all very scuff & grease marked. Sink not even plumbed in. You could hear people shouting through the walls from the other suites. We were on the ground floor, so we couldn't open the shutters as the windows could be easily opened from the outside. Moved into a second suite which was a lot nicer, although smaller. The shower still was a bit dirty and walls scuffed but it was good. The first room needs a lot of work doing and the cleaners need to buy some mould and mildew spray! Only good thing was that the staff were very friendly and the location was perfect.
- Q863QVtomc (8/5): Beautiful room with a fantastic view - Me and my girlfriend recently stayed in this hotel and we had a fantastic stay. Ive read mixed reviews about the hotel and it made me some what anxious before our arrival. I can only review my room and the hotel customer service. I think its unfair how people review the hotel as a whole and presume every room as the same.
We stayed in Suite number 1. It was a beautiful room, very clean with an enormous bed. The bathroom looked brand new. Spacious with a double walk in shower with a powerful shower head. The bathroom was also very clean. The room came fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a safety box, a huge flatscreen tv, large wardrobes and the comfiest of beds. Maybe the standard rooms are not to this quality so if you want to be sure of a fantastic room with a great view of the coliesuem then book a suite. Otherwise you can roll the dice.
Customer service was good as they were really friendly and keen to help. We asked them to show us how the heating works and from then on our room was like an oven. Only minor incident was when we checked out. We left all our luggage with the receptionist and then went out for a few hours before leaving for the airport. When we retuned to pick up our luggage there was nobody to be seen. For 35 minutes i searched the building high and low for somebody who worked there and there was nobody. I had to google the number for the hotel and luckily somebody picked up, who then returned to the hotel 10 minutes later to let us get our stuff. So make sure you have a number to ring incase of anything.
Would definitely stay here again. Only in a suite however.
- GhoshSanjoy (2/5): Awful stay.. poor, dirty & fraud in Rome... Be careful - I had to stay few hours in his hotel due to mu connecting flight to London. I felt the trap of the heading… “ Colosseum view Luxury suites” so catchy… is not it?. However, reality is the suites is the sharing apartment much lower quality than B&B. This company sign the contract with many others small apartment owner. The quality is really awful. This is the cheap place not a standard even. I think they are not close to the European standard. Also, the rent should not be more than 20 euro. Upon my arrival, they asked additional 37 Euro on top of 78 euro. I booked through the AMOMA.. which is clearly written no extra cost to be paid. Called to AMOMA however .. realize there is nice tie up!!! Which is another scam. As I arrived after 6 PM for this nasty and dirty apartment. Really regret to stay here… I suggest donot book this suites.. This is a trap!!!!
- Irishdanielle (10/5): Best Location & View - Visited here with my sister , we could not believe how amazing our view and location was considering the great price we got our room for , highly recommend. Taxi cost €30 to the Hotel from campino airport which was not bad & the metro station is just a 2 min walk from the hotel also .
- MSBristol82 (6/5): location location location - Lastminute.com booking never reached the hotel. We were lucky a room was available. It was only due to my phone calls it got sorted. This wasn't the fault of the hotel though & we did get the room we wanted.
View was amazing from the room. To wake up to a view of the colosseum was something well worth the cost.
The room could do with an update. No clean sheets in 5 days & the general cleaning wasn't great. The wifi was so slow it might as well not been switched on. 1 plastic chair means you can't sit as a couple & enjoy the view. 1 rail to hang clothes sits above the fridge & kettle so be prepaired to leave everything in your suitcase.
Bed was comfortable though. A shop around the corner was convenient. Close restaurants but they are so expensive, €15 for eggs on toast! Plenty of places to eat within 10 minutes walk. Never had bad food or experience from anywhere.
Yes you will hear road noise & sirens from emergency services but from walking around you'll probably hear them from any hotel. It is a main road but it never woke me up so I'd not say it's an issue.
Location location location if that's what you want then stay hear you can't get bored of the view out of your window. Just don't book with lastminute.com they could have ruined our holiday.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Geat location - Location and room was great but no staff available onsite after 6 PM to communicate i would recommend if you like to stay across from the colosseum and restaurants.
- Sophie (8/5): Rome - These apartments/Suites are amazing. The View we had of the Colosseum was fantastic. Beds were comfy and the room was clean. The only thing i would say it the room was a bit tatty and could do with a touch up. Other wise the stay was overall good. Would stay here again
- W952TSmarkr (10/5): Fantastic location, incredible view - We stayed for 4 nights and it was like having your own apartment for those days. This is not a typical hotel or B&B. You simply have an easily accessible and quite large room. No usual hotel lobby or staff. Our room was large and nicely appointed. The staff kept it very clean and the neospresso machine was a nice bonus! Incredible view of Colosseum out the front window -- it is literally across the street from the room. Lots of nearby restaurants -- go off on the side streets for the great and less tourist laden ones. We had no trouble walking all over old Rome from this excellent location. Highly recommended.
One important point -- make sure you arrive before 630 pm or arrange for picking up keys as the office is only open during the day.
- Matt (4/5): Great view but wouldn't stay again. - Very poor rushed check in process with extra fees because we checked in 'late' at 8p. We were not aware of their late check in policy until the room had already been prepaid leaving no possibility of cancellation.
The view of the Colleseum was incredible but the hotel is an old apartment that is in need of updating and cleaning. My feet were black when showering due to the unseen dirt on the floor. In addition, there were no amenities provided like soap and shampoo that normally come at any hotel accommodation.
Would not recommend to friends or family.
- 700kittyd (10/5): Stunning room, with the most amazing view - I would definitely reccomend this place, its clean and comfortable and in the perfect location.
We stayed in the egg room which has a window seat looking into the colosseum, all the time spent in the room I was stuck to that seat just staring at the view.
Beware that it is on a main road with a tram line so it can be noisy but it didn't bother us at all.
Best of all it was so affordable, for a view like that you'd expect to pay much more.
The metro is a 2 minute walk away and is so easy to navigate so you can get everywhere you want to go. There's a taxi rank just outside to which we used to get to the airport.
- Mike (8/5): Easy to get to, and an amazing view - This is an amazing room! The view of the colloseum is just perfect we will stay here again
- Marwan (2/5): Fake offer not a hotel - The offer include many fake features like massage, mini bar, breakfast... and bad wifi connection
For info: it's an appartment not a hotel
