Guest Reviews
- Gianluca (10/5): Base perfetta per visitare la città! - Tutto molto bello, posizione perfetta e strategica. Staff gentile e disponibile. Camere non grandissime ma perfettamente pulite e organizzate.
Unica nota, sistemare il terrazzo perché è un beccato lasciarlo ai gabbiani. Terrazza non come da foto.
- B9076EQmarcusb (4/5): Below average in a nice, historic district of Istanbul. - It is below average. Breakfast is clean and dull. Multiple TVs don’t work. Wallpaper pealing.
- Катерина (10/5): -
- enak2026 (10/5): Great Place to Stay in Istanbul! - I travel frequently and have stayed in many top-dollar hotels around the world, but this is actually the first time I felt compelled to leave feedback. My stay at Saba Sultan Hotel in Istanbul was truly exceptional, especially considering the incredible value for the price.
The location is perfect—just a short walk from Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace, yet on a quiet street that makes it peaceful and relaxing after a day of exploring.
What really makes this hotel stand out is the staff. They were genuinely warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything—from recommendations to directions and transportation. Their kindness and professionalism made the stay feel very personal and memorable.
My room was on the first floor and my friend stayed on the second floor, and both rooms were awesome. They were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Everything was taken care of daily, and the hotel has a cozy boutique feel that makes you feel at home.
Another highlight was the breakfast (omelet included) and the rooftop terrace. Starting the day with a great breakfast and beautiful views over the Bosphorus and the historic skyline of Istanbul was simply wonderful.
For the price you pay, the value here is outstanding. Even compared to many luxury hotels I’ve stayed at, the level of service and hospitality here truly stands out. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Saba Sultan Hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul.
Overall, Saba Sultan Hotel offers an excellent combination of location, comfort, and outstanding service. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Istanbul and happily recommend it to other travelers looking for a charming and well-run boutique hotel in the heart of the old city.
- Roccodawg (10/5): Loved the Saba Sultan - Just got back from Istanbul this week. We stayed a week at the Seba Sultan. We loved it. The location was great! Restaurants were all around us. Shoutout to Santos Restaurant it was wonderful. Our rooms were very very clean. The stafff was so kind and helpful. It’s a bit older but it’s beautiful! The beds were excellent. The breakfast was good! We were two female solo travelers and we felt completely safe! We plan to stay there again when we come back!
- Mark (10/5): - Warm welcoming, cozy and clean apartments, convenient place to explore city.
- Oleksandr (10/5): A perfect place to explore the old city - An excellent location A bit small room
- Jacqueline (9/5): -
- Irvine (8/5): - Location is perfect for restaurants and main tourist attractions
- David (9/5): - The location was perfect, near all the central tourist sites but in a quiet street. Lovely view over the Bosphorus from the balcony. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Room was a little small however I think this is typical for a central location.
- Karel (8/5): -
- Alison (10/5): - Perfect location for exploring some of the main sights of Istanbul. Lots of sights, shops and restaurants within walking distance
- 558michaelb558 (10/5): A very enjoyable weekend - My wife had already booked the Saba Sultana for a surprise long weekend, when I read online as it’s in one of the areas that you should not be staying when visiting Istanbul.
Contrary to this we found the location ideally suited, surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops, also walking distance to the four main mosques, grand bizarre, Topkapi palace and walking distance to the bridge.
The same rule applies to watching the prices and your wallet, common sense goes a long way, although we didn’t have any issues at all.
Also to look where you’re walking is a good idea, or you might find yourself tripping over the cobbles or stepping straight down into a basement.
The hotel is down a side street and gives an uneasy feeling, but on closer inspection most of the hotels in this area are much the same.
On a style of a terraced town house, with a small reception, friendly staff and an elevator to the floors.
The rooms were a good size, with comfortable beds and appeared nice and clean.
The shower tray was a little tired but everything worked perfectly, you’d have to be very finicky to knock it.
Breakfast was good, offered a freshly cooked omelette on arrival, limitless coffee and tea etc, nothing to moan about, a nice way to start your day.
The top floor had an outside staircase to the roof terrace that gave lovely views over the Bosporus and you could see the top of the blue mosque,
When you looked at the other hotels, they all had a similar arrangement,
I wouldn’t have any problem with staying here again.
The many boat rides are a great way to pass the time and an evening dinner cruise is a must, good food, entertainment, fantastic service and great value,
I myself would leave the taxis alone and stick with the Uber.
- Anne-Marie (10/5): - The breakfast was always fresh and taste amazing. The rooftop deck has a great view. The room balcony is a small French balcony.
- Erika tatiana (10/5): - It was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful with us! I highly recommend this hotel!
- Hala (10/5): - Great hotel and great location
- Imad (10/5): - Great location and very nice little hotel
- Silich (7/5): - The warm hospitality and location The smell from outside and stairs
- Mirwais (10/5): - Great hotel
- opusinNC (8/5): Helpful, convenient and quiet - The staff saved us and gave us a room when our third party booking (American Airlines) bungled the reservation. The room had a terrific view and was plenty comfortable. Breakfast was high quality and had a decent variety of offerings. Great location, easy to walk to the main attractions, but a delightful block off the main pedestrian traffic.
- Andy (8/5): - Nice room. Breakfast was good. Location was close to Topaki and Hagia Sophia. Easy access to tram as well.
- Edward (10/5): - The breakfast was amazing. The hotel is conveniently located in walking distance to many historical sites. A bazaar is nearby. The hotel is quite small, but well decorated, very clean, and well staffed.
- Galina (8/5): - Clean room. Location is very close to tourist attractions and food places. The hotel offered a good and fairly priced transfer to airport.
- Felix (10/5): - Comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is more than adequate. The location is superb close to many restaurants and walking distance to Hagia Sophia.
- Natalia (10/5): - Nice hotel. Clean and quiet. Good breakfast.
Walking distance to everywhere. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend.
- Theona Sophia (8/5): - Clean room
- Luke (10/5): - Nice
- masumeh (10/5): - Hi, it was walking distance to everywhere, I planned to visit
- Xiaoju (10/5): - Great location! Great breakfast!
- Sasha (10/5): - Wonderfull hotel with great decor, staff and big breakfast. Highly recommend
- Shelley (10/5): - Excellent location, breakfast was super, friendly and helpful staff
- Allen (8/5): - We stayed 5 nights so became very familiar with the property. We loved Omerr, who took excellent care of us when we were there. He was always offering us Turkish coffee, and made superb recommendations for tours and restaurants. Omerr responded promptly to any inquiries I made.
We loved the view of the sea from our room, and also from the roof. We enjoyed the breakfast, too.
(The only negative was that we felt the air conditioner did not work well enough to our liking.)
- Gisselle (9/5): - Nice staff, good breakfast and great location. Water pressure and no cable TV
- Deniz (4/5): - The location was great unfortunately our room door would not open with key card or key quite a few times which is a bit bothersome when you’re tired after a long day of walking and sightseeing
- Alfredo (8/5): - Great location. Affordable. Nice Breakfast. Air conditioning should be improved
- Hugo (8/5): - a
- Isabel (5/5): -
- Bethuel (6/5): - It was nice and clean but the air conditioning is poor.
- Steven (10/5): - This is my go to hotel when I stay in Istanbul. It’s been a lovely quiet neighbourhood but very convenient and close to the Sultanhamet. The staff are very courteous and helpful.
- Naci (8/5): - It's a small hotel 7-8 minutes from Sultanahmet square and close to piblic transportation. Room was small but it was ok because we only went in late night and leave early. Breakfast was good, they offer omelette other than the rich buffet. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only complaint was AC was barely sufficient, it doesn't cool down the room quickly.
- Aster (10/5): - The hotel is super clean, staff are amazing, reception guys both day and night shifts were wonderful - professional, helpful and they will treat you like you’re a family member.
Location is the best, most tourist attractions are in a walking distance. Breakfast buffet was great, a lot of varieties, enjoyed it. I highly recommend Saba Sultan Hotel!!!
- Azeem (10/5): - Our stay at the Saba Sultan was wonderful. The front desk staffer at check-in, Omardeen I believe his name is, was amazing and very helpful. We had a nice long conversation and he gave us many recommendations and tips for what to do and where to eat nearby, etc. The included breakfast was very nice and since we had a very early departure before breakfast was open, he even arranged to have breakfast sandwiches ready for us at 5- am! Our room was very nice on the 4th. floor and had a balcony with an awesome view of the ocean. There are several places to eat and shop within easy walking distance of the hotel. We also walked to the Grand Bazaar and the Hagia Sofia & Blue Mosque. I would definitely stay there again if I'm ever there again!
- Syed (8/5): - A decent place. Good condition and decently decorated room. Small size shower cubicle was a negative factor.
- Shabbir (10/5): - Excellent Location
Safe area
Very close to all the attractions- walking distance
Multiple dinning option in the area
Breakfast fantastic
Staff and Reception very responsive and helpful- Ismail was very helpful
Highly recommended
- Denekew M (10/5): - Affordable price, safe, good breakfast, and good housekeeping.
- Anise (10/5): - I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The receptionists were so kind and thoughtful. There were six of us and they made sure we had transportation to go shopping and were really generous and was genuinely good people! The rooms were beautiful, a little small compared to big brands but was very spacious for 2 people and felt very cozy! The lady at the breakfast helped us reheat our food and was super nice and friendly! Would definitely recommend staying there, we were close to a lot of restaurants although overwhelming but really great options as all the food we tried in that area was delicious! 10/10 would recommend.
- Julian (10/5): - Nice comfortable rooms that are cleaned daily. Good selection of choices in the buffet breakfast. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The hotel is kept clean and tidy.
The location is just a few streets from the blue mosque, hagia Sophia and Topkapi palace. There is a wealth of good restaurants and some small supermarket shops nearby. The owners at the restaurants in this area can be very pushy, search around the restaurants though and you'll find good affordable food. The Trams are 10mins walk and Avery good way to get round the city.
Clean, with TV, complimentary tea and coffee plus 2 bottles of water per day. On suite toilet and shower. Mini bar .
Our room had a small balcony looking out over the city and Bosphorus.
Short walk to many facilities and the trams are 10-15 mins walk by the Blue Mosque. The airport bus arrives at Hotel Ararat roughly every 40mins and cost 275tl taking around 1-1½hrs to get to and from the airport.
- Raza (10/5): - A nice small hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast was great.
- Entela (10/5): - The hotel is clean, people are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is on the good area in old city, very Turkish, a lot of restaurants around, markets, shops. I had the breakfast included, it was colorful, delicious, have savory, sweet, fruits and everything that a person is looking to eat in the morning. I highly recommend it. Hotel offers all info for trips also.
- Omar (8/5): It was great. - Both the location and breakfast were excellent. Nothing comes to mind.
- Jack (8/5): - The place was okay. I didn't know that it was at the bottom of the hill and everything was an uphill hike.
- Dylan (10/5): - Very welcoming
- Alina (10/5): - The breakfast included with the room was great! So many options! The bed was comfortable too.
- Rifhat (6/5): - The rooms are spacious and clean. Air con in the room is ok but not the best. Breakfast was not the best and we didn’t enjoy it. But they had toast and good coffee so that was ok. This is a budget hotel and even though the chap at the front desk was very helpful we didn’t really see any other staff. Kitchen staff didn’t speak much English and the food sometimes felt it was left out for too long and tasted a bit stale. I personally would not stay here again. But if you are looking for a cheap hotel next to the main attractions, then it’s ok to book.
- Mark (8/5): - Property is conveniently located and within walking distance of most everything. The property interior needs some updating and some soundproofing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice with indoor and outdoor seating available.
- Lina (8/5): - Our stay was okay, but it could have been better.
The hotel is small but has the essentials. We were given a room with two single beds pushed together, even though we were a couple, which was a bit disappointing.
The location is convenient — close to the main mosques and surrounded by restaurants and shops. However, the constant pressure from vendors to buy things made the area a bit overwhelming and less enjoyable.
The hotel advertises rooms with a view of the Bosphorus, but from our room, the view was very limited — barely visible, to be honest, and not what we expected.
They also sold us a tour that honestly wasn’t worth the price. We weren’t informed about the dress code for the sites we were visiting until the tour had already started, which forced us to buy scarves to cover our knees and heads. A simple heads-up would have made a big difference.
Overall, the experience was just okay — not terrible, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
- Oleksandr (10/5): Excellent place to explore Istanbul on foot 🦶 - The perfect location The staff is a bit unfriendly
- nazmin (10/5): - Omer is very beautiful staff we absolutely will come again to this hotel. We love him
- Sean (10/5): - Location was prime. Close to everything. Cozy and great service
- Diana (10/5): - This is a small nice hotel in an area close to the main sites to visit in Instanbul. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.
- Kevin (4/5): Weak A/C in room - We had a three nights stay in early May when the weather was beginning to be hot. Unfortunately, the A/C was weak or near non-existent despite a room change.
- Mohammed (6/5): - Location is very good for main attractions and is okay for a budget hotel. The biggest gripe is the lack of storage space or hooks for clothes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing. Courtious staff, excellent breakfast spread
- Rose (10/5): - Sem dúvida, recomendo o Hotel Saddam para quem quer uma experiência calorosa e autêntica na Turquia. E voltaria com certeza!
- Christopher (4/5): - Checked in and the room was extremely hot, turned on the AC and it didn't work. We let the front desk know before we stepped out for dinner. Came back and the room smelled of sewer. Front desk told us they thought the AC had been fixed, it hadn't. They told us it usually doesn't smell of sewer except in the winter!! They moved us to a different room and the AC could barely keep up. One day we had to keep the bathroom door shut as the sewer smell returned. This should not be considered a 3 star hotel, 2 at the most as it is well past its 3 star days. We paid for some clothes to be washed/dried and it returned to us stuffed in a bag with many items still wet. Front desk wasn't happy to have to dry the wet items. The location is near many restaurants but everytime you walk by you'll be harassed to come in and when you decline you'll be cussed at.
- Tammy (8/5): - Clean, quiet, safe area, walkable
- Fabian (8/5): - It is ok, the location is good to visit mosques and plenty of restaurants are near.
- Michael (10/5): - Very accessible to nearby attractions…. Staff was extremely helpful… very happy with our stay
- Hu Ting (10/5): - We are happy to stay in this hotel for four days, it is good location, hotel staff are very helpful.
- Kate (10/5): - "Everything! The staff were so welcoming and happy!
The hotel is beautifully decorated so much thought."
- barbara (8/5): - Muy cerca a las Mezquitas y Topkapi , restaurantes y tiendas
- Margaux (10/5): - easily accessible to everything… hagia sofia, blue mosque, bazaars, palaces are within walking distance.
- Marizol (10/5): - This was an absolutely perfect accommodation! The Staff were courteous and friendly! The hotel was wonderful!
- Emilija (8/5): - Hotel's location was excellent - just few minutes on foot from many of the major attractions in Sultanahmet/Fatih. Staff at reception were quite helpful and polite. The room was clean and sufficiently large for two people with suitcases, but without hardly any soundproofing. We could hear conversations, furniture being moved etc. in the nearby rooms. The breakfast was ok, but items were not always replenished, even with another hour and a half before breakfast closing time. We stayed 6 nights and feel that this hotel is better suited for short stays.
- Carmen Gianina (10/5): - Excellent, cute hotel with wonderful hospitality and extremely flexible and friendly.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Lovely hotel. We had a sea view room. Well appointed and comfortable. Daily breakfast included was great. The front desk staff were all very helpful arranging a tour for us and booking our taxi to the airport. They also gave us good tips of what do our own as well. If we get back to Istanbul again we would rebook here for sure
- Francine (10/5): - The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was varied. The location is great. Walking distance to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque.
- Bailey (8/5): - The property is decent for what you pay, the AC worked sometimes, the bed pillows could be replaced and the breakfast wasn’t anything special. However, the staff were very friendly, the property was clean and in a good area of town, very near the blue mosque/Hagia Sofia. The pricing is good for what you get.
Don’t waste time and money booking airport pickup through them unless you’re in a group of 3+. The shuttle was $15 more than uber taxi of which there were plenty available upon exiting the airport. The airport vans we booked took 20+ minutes to arrive to pick us up at the airport, were very expensive and smelled like BO.
- DANIELA (10/5): - Friendly staff. Super clean and excelent location
- Tony K (8/5): - Good staff. Central location
- Joanna (10/5): - Very nice and clean hotel in great location. Highly recommen.
- Katia (8/5): - Strategic location. Near to Aya Sofia , Sultanahmet and Topkapi
- Ahmet (8/5): - Good value hotel, friendly staff, sea view, comfortable, fairly big room
- E1950VYcarolb (8/5): Ideal location - First time in Istanbul, and staying in the Saba Sultan made it easy to be close to the main visiting places. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A good included breakfast with lots of choice, set us up for the day. Our room had a huge comfortable bed and we enjoyed the balcony looking out to sea. Very near numerous restaurants so easy to find somewhere good to eat at the end of our day exploring. Would stay here again.
- Dama (8/5): - Great breakfast
Walkable
Helpful front desk but pushy about tours
- Charles (8/5): - We were happy about service especially the breakfast. Overall it was an amazing experience. Glad we visited Istanbul.
- Keith (10/5): Enjoyed our Saba Sultan stay. - Our first time in Istanbul, and Saba Sultan was the ideal hotel Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was ample with good choices. The location was perfect being near the main tourist attractions and very near local restaurants. We liked our room which had a lovely balcony, which we sat on in the evening after returning from our night out. And the bed was huge and comfortable. Would recommend and wouldn't hesitate to return here.
- ANDRES (8/5): - Ubicación, staff amable, habitación amplia y confortable
- Miglena (10/5): - Extremely convenient place, close to attractions, dining and shopping walkable distance from the hotel. Host is wonderful and helpful in any way possible! Price is very reasonable, would strongly recommend to family and friends!!
- James (9/5): solo traveling for the history - Amazing hotel Staff and perfect location for people interested in history. customer service top level especially when booking tours. bathroom is small, disappointing rooftop but good enough
- a (10/5): Great stay close to Hagia Sophia - - friendly & helpful 24/7 staff;
- large room;
- terrace with a view over the Blue Mosque;
- walkable area, close to many famous attractions, and full of restaurants;
- the included breakfast was tasty and had a high variety of products.
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
