• Jackie (3/5): Love the venue, just a few niggles to sort out. - The location is excellent. Very friendly staff. No hot water for showering. The carpets could've been vacuumed before I booked in. The last person's soap still on the basin. No new soap for me to use. No shuttle service available for short distance to Morningside Shopping Centre for dinner.

• Catherine (10/5): Fabulous stay, happy I chose Falstaff - Room was great, I felt safe, good location, comfortable and clean. Staff and security were so friendly. Other guests were noisy during the night on last night.

You dont feel like you are inn a hotel. The staff was incredible and so obliging and helpful. Would have preferred at least one movie channel. There were NO movie channels which was disappointing.

• Grant (6/5): Reasonable spot in JHB - Food in the restaurant was good in the evening. Convenient location They couldn't organize an airport transfer. Even though we went to breakfast an hour after it opens, toaster & fryer for eggs not turned on & had to wait for it to heat up.

• lilo777 (5/5): Mediocre - The hotel and especially the decor is beautiful. The matress was hard and the aircon unit noisy, which combined, made for a restless night. There were no facecloths, slippers, shower cap or body lotion in the Superior King room - making me wonder why I paid more for it?

• lilo777 (6/5): Advertising wrong - Pond with turtles was wonderful It was NOT sound proof as advertised, and that was the very reason I selected the hotel over new year's Eve. Very disappointing.

• Sue-ann (4/5): Just so so - The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice and quiet. There seems to be a staff and service issue, with staff missing from the breakfast service and no reception when I had to check out. It was pouring down with rain and there was no-one around to help me with my bags. Note that there is no lift to the 2nd floor and the tv channels are very basic, with mostly SABC. The gym needs some TLC with dusty mats, broken aircon and a wierd tasting water machine.

• Nanouk (7/5): - We verbleven niet in Falstaff, dat werd verbouwd. We zijn omgeboekt naar een ander premier hotel in de buurt. Dat was prima. Ik werd pas omgeboekt nadat de deadline verstreken was om te annuleren. Had op zich de keuze gewaardeerd om zelf een ander hotel te vinden.

• Shantelle (8/5): - I love the Falstaff and usually book here but for the second time my booking was moved to Quartermain. Both hotels are lovely but I do prefer the smaller Falstaff as the rooms are much easier to access from the reception area The fact that they moved our bookings last minute. When I got to quartermain I had to fight for a room that wasn't super far from reception. It took more than an hour to find my booking and solve my concern. Other than that I loved my stay.

It would also be nice to have a bottled water in that fridge, as the tap water isn't great at all - The milk at breakfast is always off!! I also overheard another person complaining about the milk - The shower tap also indicates the temperatures incorrectly on the handle. The blue and red stickers need to be switched around
