• Calvinism (8/5): Nice cozy spot in the Old Quarter that is classy and comfortable. - I only stayed for 1 night at the end of my 5-day motorcycle trip in the Northeast, so I was only there one night before flying out early the next morning. It has a nice spot in the Old Quarter, so good location if you want access to the area. The room was large enough to fit my stuff without feeling cramped. Also, the bed was nice and cozy, plus there's a bathtub, but I didn't use it. The view out the window wasn't much, but since it was an overnighter, it was fine. I am unsure of the atmosphere during the day, it's more like a hotel than a homestay so not much character. However, that may not be an issue for you.

• B (8/5): - The location, availability of the front desk and services such as food and laundry are all great. If you're choosing to stay in the Old Quarter, you're going to have to deal with a loud level of noise coming from outside. Noise doesn't really die down until 12am FYI.

Wide selection of bars and restaurants nearby. My room was upgraded upon check in, external balcony much appreciated. Very large room, powerful shower, daily cleaning to high standard. On-site restaurant lunch and dinner options. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good value accommodation. No complaints

I told staff both nights that the fan blew consistently high. I ended up taping it almost closed. Staff you looked at it said it was fine. Stuck on one setting is not fine.

• crawdad (10/5): Thoughtful staff make extra effort -- a rare find - As a writer who works in hotel rooms, I'd been burned at other places -- so I checked this one out the night before my reservation started. The manager showed me a suitable room with the interesting window view I had asked for, and said he would be happy to release me from Agoda no-cancellation room if I was displeased after one night This is rare enough, but when I was checking in, he thoughtfully offered the choice of a quieter back room -- with a view of an ornate temple roof, and no honking or street noise (it's a very lively neighborhood). The restaurant in lobby starts with brunch but serves till 10pm, so I'll grab my xoi (sticky rice) breakfast at Circle K around the corner and enjoy the hotel's large menu later ... with no rip-off prices. The place is spotless, and offers amazing comfort and value in the often scammy and deceptive Hanoi hotel scene. Reading lamp & handy adapter outlet for charging phone on bedside table too. So glad I found it! At top of old city near big markets too: the touristy one is fun & the "local" one is across the highway from airport. Close to buses on that big road too, like to pottery town Bat Trang.

I saw another cockroach in the bathroom later. The double bed mattress springs were digging into my back. There was also a single bed so I slept in that one instead which was comfier..

• Dorota (6/5): It was OK but with a few issues - Very hard bed but slept surprisingly well. I requested a room facing back yard and got one so didn't have to face very noisy street in the front. Having a bathtub and shower was great. Staff was nice and helpful. Room was quite spacious and was cleaned daily with 2 bottles of water provided every day. Had a decent stay overall. TV was not working at all during my stay - I informed reception but they couldn't fix it - I guess it was simply too old and needed replacement...I was woken up a few times by loud noise coming from the bathroom pipes - some good plumbing is definitely needed! The hotel is quite old and needs some good renovation.

For some reason you shower standing in a bath which is dirty and the far side of the bath, the floor is very dirty. We got a really big and comfortable room with a bathtub at a great price. Helpful staff, most especially Cuong who manned the daytime reception. He speaks great English and can help with various things you need, from motorcycles, to currency exchange, to tours, etc. Truly a bright spot of our stay. He even let us settle the bill early so we wouldn't have to do it at 4am when we left. They also helped us by parking and re-parking our rented scooter. One minor quibble, there was one day (a Saturday) where we requested our room to be cleaned early in the day and it was left alone the whole day.

The location was brilliant, the room was perfect and met all our needs, great Aircon and a fridge in the room. We also ate dinner in the hotel twice and the food was delicious and a great mix of local food and western food to meet everyone's preferences. A huge shoutout must go to the staff who were all so friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us during our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Even tho is right on the main road the windows couldn't be closed and there was no moschito net or anything. No hot water most of the time and the couple of the 6th floor had even nice shower from water coming out of their ceiling.

• Mccullagh (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the decor of the hotel. The surrounding area was still being built but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We also enjoyed envisioning how the area will become a busy, french quarter esq type of town in the coming years. We like the doorbell at the rooms, and the option to leave a light on the door signaling maid service/ do not disturb. The staff were contactable via WhatsApp and recommended popular restaurants and booked us taxis. About 20 mins walk from a theme park, water park and night bazaar/ more restaurants. We would've enjoyed more breakfast selection, however there weren't many guests staying so its understandable they wouldn't put a full buffet for a few people only.
