- Dilpreet (2/5): - AVOID THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!!! Checked out early it was so bad. This is a 1/2 star hotel at best, extremely disappointed with our experience here never had to deal with a missold holiday property. Please read most recent reviews it is an outdated property with rude staff and lack of amenities. Never have I ever checked out of a hotel early because of how unhygienic and unimpressed I was with the difference between what is advertised on the websites vs how outdated the hotel actually is. Short reasons why: - Unpleasant rooms and bathrooms that are unkempt - Brown splashes on the ceiling above where you sleep - Dirty walls - Rusted bathroom metallurgy - Broken mirror - A hairdryer that is from 2005 that has a filament that heats up red when used and has to turn itself off every 5 minutes to cool down - Bathroom hooks are swivelling when you hang something on them - You could turn the bathroom tap 360 degrees because it was so ill fitted/ready to come off entirely - Wallpaper coming off the walls - Worn out sofa in the room - Mezzanine floor is only 1 metre in height such that the bed is actually just a mattress on the floor, we bumped our heads every time we got up - No kettle, cups or spoons provided in the rooms - Outdated - Rude staff - we were told upon asking for some cups (because maybe they weren't provided in the room in the first place) and a butter knife that we were asking for 'too much' - - Asked where we are 'originally from' when asking for milky tea.

- Leon (9/5): Pleasant - Hard to review this because the room we paid for was double booked. We managed to get the room on the last day for a few hours which is a massive bummer. Super disappointed about this as i paid exclusively for that room (honeymoon room w jacuzzi). Measures should be put in place that do not allow for double bookings to happen as I arrived feeling extremely disappointed having trekked to get to this hotel specifically. The receptionist is a very nice and polite man and was very hospitable. For what its worth the honeymoon room is very good - just a shame we didnt have it for the duration it was paid for. Breakfast wasnt much of a breakfast though. Breakfast was lacking

- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - the dedication of the staff was unbelievable, normally I had booked a room for three people with a bathtub and on the first day we were given a room with an air conditioner that made a lot of noise and did not work properly, this was not the room we had booked, the next day the staff changed our room again not to the room we had booked but to a room with a jacuzzi, we asked them for a refund and they told us that they could not refund us but they would arrange a free airport taxi if we wanted and we accepted, frankly, most of the things were bad except the staff, but the staff makes up for these deficits

- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - The first day when we arrived at the hotel, we stayed in a different hotel nearby because there was an electricity problem in our room (I think there was no electricity problem), but the staff upgraded our standard room to a suite room free of charge and gave us gifts, the hotel's mistake was covered by the dedication of the staff Air conditioning in the room does not work well and the construction next door is very noisy

- Artur (10/5): great staff - the location of the hotel is great, it is located on a quiet street and there are good restaurants nearby and it is also a 2 minute walk to the beach, apart from these, the most important feature is the staff, they work extraordinarily hard and treat every guest with care, mustafa and emre gave us a lot of information about places to go and arranged tours, it was our first stay in istanbul but we will definitely stay here if we come to istanbul again the hotel is a bit old, but this was not a problem for us because of the decoration
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was very nice, first of all thank you to the reception team, the location is within walking distance to historical places. When we arrived on the first day, our room was a little small, when we informed the reception, they said they had other available rooms and they could change it for free and they did it for us. The hotel is an old historical building, there is no elevator but I can understand that. We hope we will comeback again in future!!! We didn't experience anything negative at the hotel, but there is construction going on around the hotel, which can be a bit annoying.

- Heikki (5/5): Not a four star hotel - Location was good. Quirky for those who like it. This is not a four star hotel, something like 2,5 stars. Breakfast was as simple as it can be. No door (broken and not replaced) in the shower cabinet. Requested beforehand room with a proper window and gluten free bread at breakfast - granted, but in the end a room in the basement and no bread. Overall worn out and even dirty. Disappointed....

They also did not mention this on the website. Although my overall impression was good, I think this was a minus, not bad but 10 points for keeping my promise to the staff
- Lukáš (10/5): Great Experience. - the location of the hotel is very good, we had a great experience in istanbul, the hotel was also good in terms of decor, especially the staff was great, they answered every question I asked, thank you to them the room we stayed in was enough for 2 people, but I think it is small for more than 2 people, and the hotel needs renovation and especially the bathroom, dryer and bathroom shelves need to be renovated.
- Paullette (3/5): Disappointing - The location of this property is great. Away from the super busy areas and with a number of good restaurants and cafe's close by. The decor feels very authentic and breakfast was great. But I'm afraid this property is not one I would recommend. - Room sizes are tiny. Our friends were in a "Deluxe" room which was just a little bigger than the bed - which was a double or small queen. We were upgraded to the "Suite" - which is up two flights of stairs, doesn't have a shower, is tiny and is very noisy due to the external air conditioning. When we complained, we were offered an "Economy" room (with no reduction in cost) which was also tiny but was at least quiet. - Rooms were clean-ish. We noticed some of the doors and door frames were really grimy. - There were more guests than breakfast places so guests had to wait. - There is no way this is a 4* hotel - not by any stretch of imagination. We believed we were staying in a premium hotel and were happy to pay a little more for this. But this is NOT a premium hotel and is therefore, overpriced. - My biggest complaint is the fake review created in my name. The venue insisted I provide the booking pin code on checking in and then used that to create a glowing review for themselves under my account. So I don't think many of their glowing reviews are real - be aware. It took a number of conversations with Booking.com to be able to post my own review.

- Muhammad (6/5): Not a 4-star hotel, good location and staff, not recommended for families with kids. - Location of the hotel is very good, close to the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, and Arasta bazar, and very near to the Marmara sea. A very good gesture by the hotel staff, they gave us a very good item as a gift at the time of checkout. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Definitely not a 4-star hotel with the facilities they provide. Not even a bottle of water was provided in the room for free, they charge you for that (unlike other 4-star facilities I have been to). Nor, they had any coffee maker in the room. The room had staircase and a sleeping arrangement on top, which was never services by the housekeeping the whole time we were there. Overall, the room is very small and not recommended for families with kids, if you are an adult or a couple, its an okay option considering the location. With kids, not recommended at all. Lighting was also very dim, gave an eerie vibes. The breakfast was very disappointing, it was cold (all items all the time) and very limited options, the arrangements was kinda outdoorsy, so if you dont reach right on time, you would eating all cold items with no microwave options (it seems).

So, I decided to leave a 10 rating feedback with such real feeling detail. To be honestly, for this price,the maximum I can give is 7. Do not trust the photos. They are not matched with room at all. Firstly, doesn't matter economy or standard double room, they do Not have the bath at all. ONLY a suit room have bath. The phone looks like a palace room, but most the facilities are century old. The room is very small. They do NOT have private parking space at all. You need to park on the small doge road. Which may be blocked by someone else...

- Jenna (10/5): Lavish and Comfortable - The hotel was VERY conveniently located to all of the sights in the Old Town; only a 10min walk from the Blue Mosque. Also, right around the corner from the train station! The room itself was decorated lavishly and was very comfortable. It was impressive and felt decadent. There was an air conditioner just outside the window that would bang when it turned on.

- Sultana (10/5): Warmth and professionalism.... - Mahmoud and Mustafa showed our family exceptional hospitality and integrity throughout our four night stay. In particular, they went out of their way to ensure we had the perfect room with a tub, proper food delivery, lovely breakfast, airport taxi transport and super helpful tips for city attractions! May they be blessed with prosperity and success until we see them again next time very soon. God willing. The only regret is that there was not more time with our hosts in this beautiful city and more warm cats to fill our days and nights! -Sultana K
- Svetlana (10/5): Ideal to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the old town. - Clean small hotel two minutes from the Bosphorus embankment and 10 minutes from Sultanahmet square on foot. The reception staff is wonderful, attentive and helpful, Simple good breakfasts, coffee around the clock. Unusual for Europeans interior in the room, the air conditioner works great. The price-quality ratio is ideal!
- Shinta (10/5): Exceptional - The location is super strategic around minutes by foot, but the area is not busy, so you can rest soundly at night. Staff are nice and helpful! We stayed for 4 nights and enough to see a few lovely staff; Alperen, Mustafa, and Emre. We also made a fur friend (a sweet, super friendly white and grey cat "sere cat?" fell in love with the kitty instantly! He even spent some of his time in our rooms). Overall, it was a pleasant stay. - Carmen (10/5): Nice bedrooms and vintage style - Everything was perfect! I spent 2 weeks just to enjoy some peace it’s a nice location, many cats around to take care of and feed. I absolutely love the burgundy Type of style and the bedrooms and the hotel seems to be very safe!the entire staff was very lovely and helpful! Thanks to Emre and Mustafa, they always answered all my questions and helped multiple times. Not to forgot to mention the breakfast in my opinion was way better than the ones I got at the 5 star luxury hotels in Fatih. Diana’s cooking skills are great! I really enjoyed it a lot. In fact my stay was so comfortable there that I will be back during my upcoming trip back to Istanbul soon No complaints
- Arbab (10/5): Warm hospitality and convenient location - The hotel is situated at the end of a quiet street, just a short walk from the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, making it a great location for exploring the city. The decor is truly unique, adding to the charm of the place. The staff is very welcoming, and a special thanks to Emre and Mustafa, who go out of their way to assist guests with any issues. The hotel has multiple floors, including a basement, ground floor, first, and second floor, so it's a good idea to choose a room that best suits your needs. Breakfast was enjoyable, and the coffee was especially delicious. While the rooms were a bit small and not very spacious, the overall experience was pleasant. Would definitely recommend it for its warm hospitality and convenient location!

- Yuhao (7/5): Great locaation but the room conditions were blew expectation. - The location is excellent, with almost all tourist spots within walking distance. The staff were very kind and shared a lot of helpful information. However, the room was quite small, and there was a significant gap between the photos shown during booking and the actual room. Sound insulation was poor, and I wasn't informed in advance that the room was in the basement.

- Wass (7/5): I thank the staff and manager for their help and highly recommend they improve the breakfast offer - Location is strategic, around 3 min walk from transportation and sainte Sophie Mosque. Staff is kind and were helpful as they upgraded our room from classic to royal one for free. (standard room was very tiny, we barely fit in it with our luggage) Breakfast food is of medium quality, little change from day to day, we stayed for 5 days and we ate approximately same cake, cheese etc (which doesn't seem so fresh), at least we had omelets that were made, so we could eat some but stopped eating the rest from day two. Standard room is small, little closet, royal room was more comfortable. My advice to the manager is to work more on the breakfast offer.

- Mythily (10/5): Great choice for long layovers, 1/2 night duration needs - Clean, great hospitality, 24/7 front desk, good breakfast, quiet, easy access to/from main thoroughfare, and 10/10 location. *Especially excellent for travelers with a long layover & 12am arrival time, as this is a fantastic value for only 6h or so of use. Bed was great for a short, deep sleep. We purchased the cheapest room so given that, it was quite cramped as was the bathroom. Again-- great value and choice for only a few hours of sleep that was possible.

Yuvinish honasi biroz kichkina va noqulay. Vanna qo'yilgan va bu juda noqulay. Muzlatgichda ichimliklar tugasa keyingisi pullik ekan. Bepul emas. Mini bar tekin emas.

- Tahir (10/5): Exceptional - The location was key to our stay. Everything was in walking distance. The residency was very cozy with a friendly staff. Our day concierge, Mustafa was very polite and greeted us with a smile whenever we would run into him before breakfast. He answered all our questions and made us feel extremely comfortable while staying at the residency. Breakfast had plenty to eat with a wide variety of things. What made it extra special was that they had a coffee machine that made espresso. Every bit of the staff at The sultan Tughra hotel was great and I would highly recommend this place for a future stay. N/A

We had restaurants and terasses near the hotel. Everything about this hotel is traditional turkish. Breakfast was good, not a large variety, but good and tasty. The room's dimensions.

- Gavin (6/5): Hotel needs updating - Location was a 10-minute walk from main sites in Sultanahmet. Staff were great and made our stay as great as possible. The hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel however it's more like 3 stars due to the condition of the hotel and what is offered. Due to the hotel being a heritage site, the air conditioning is centrally controlled, and 5 be adjusted in each room separately (either all hot or all cold). We had a family suite, and the upstairs of the room was extremely stuffy, and we had to leave the windows open all night to keep the air circulating. Istanbul nightlife continues well past midnight, with the windows open it's difficult to sleep with the noise.The room size is extremely small with very little space for luggage. Climbing up ans down the narrow staircase is also a challenge (hit my head a few times). The toiletries supplied in the bathroom had dust particles collected. Ceiling in the bathroom was leaking with water and hot water runs out, for one of the day my whole family was only able to use warm to borderline cold water (I anticipate it's a shared water tank) The hotel doesn't provide kettle and water is not complimentary. Internet is patchy upstairs Buffet breakfast is very basic and lacks service.

I would stay here again during a non-business visit and recommend to others. - The location was good for being in the heart of the tourism sector, however, since I was also having a business meeting on the weekend, it was not so easy to reach public transportation. Everything else was really nice! Everything was expected at the hotel. There was a noisy wedding down the street, but the music was so happy, one really couldn't get upset. It finished around 11.30 PM which was great for sleeping. :-)

- Barbara (8/5): An interesting adventure in Istanbul... - Hotel staff was excellent! Welcome was easy & lovely. Night manager even went to the local store & bought us a bottle of wine (which was reimbursed to him) Day manager was very helpful with directions. Very quaint & basically clean. Stay was an adventure in a period facility! Hotel looks a bit rundown in various areas; hall stairs carpeting was very worn, lightbulbs missing, windows would not open, rainwater left on upstairs landing making it very slippery. I had booked a Deluxe Room, but was given the Honeymoon Room that is located below ground, requested a move & was given the room I had reserved, but it was not ready til mid afternoon (not good). Breakfast was just OK.
- Aleksandra (9/5): Good, but hotel needs good remodelling and updating. - Location is great Too many unnecessary decorations that clutter the place. Shower door was broken. Not the most spacious rooms.
- Ping (1/5): Bad - No hot water for shower, have to waiting more than two hours, and the staff is not friendly, we complained with their manager but he never solve this problem, also he let's us check out, it was midnight, where can we find another place? It's very bad management for their customers.
- Rachel (7/5): Good - The hotel is nicely decorated, our rooms were made up beautifully each day we were there and we loved the traditional style breakfast served in the dining room. The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful with advice on getting around the city. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience with booking airport transfers and activities. On arrival to istanbul airport pick up never showed and when we booked the hammam we were told we would be picked up, but this pick up was late, then we were told we would be charged 20% extra if we didn't pay cash. Not an issue if we knew in time but the whole experience was not conducive to the relaxation we had hoped for.

- Kenneth (6/5): A unique building converted to a hotel. Falls a bit short. - The front desk & breakfast staff were great. Good location, most nights the neighborhood was quiet. Good breakfast, lots of choice. A unique building, but one area fell short; the washroom. The bath exhaust was taped to the wall and fell down, hanging from the power cord. I mentioned to desk staff, but after 3 nights nothing was done.
