Guest Reviews
- Road21836018525 (6/5): Good, could be better, but it’s not horrible - The shower water was cold, though a family member staying on a different floor said it was warm after a few minutes. There was also a smell of cleaning supplies maybe? or something similar. Also a towel was a bit dirty but it wasn’t too big of a problem because it was the shower mat and not one of the bigger towels.
The breakfast food is good but not too varied but there are free drinks for the entire day I think.
- Yadira (2/5): - Maintenance is needed
- 209charlied (6/5): Good, can be better - Well located, need maintenance and the breakfast... not good. I know it is a low cost hotel, but the eggs were awful. Those little details mathers. The hotel need a good cleanning in their walls and floor, and maintenance. We had to ask for soap.
- Marco (6/5): - Good overall
- Asmah (10/5): - The receptionist Jacob was very helpful in navigating the area. The hotel is very clean and the staffs are helpful. Jacob really helped us, as we had to change to city express by mariott. Thanks a lot
- Iana (6/5): - City Express Junior by Marriott Cancun is a convenient, budget-focused option with friendly service and basic amenities. It’s well‑located, offers complimentary breakfast, and suits short or business stays. However, you might find the rooms very small, the AC noisy, and occasional maintenance or booking headaches. If you’re okay with modest accommodations and want practicality over luxury, it could work well—just be sure to double-check your reservation and set expectations accordingly.
- Pedro Jose (4/5): - Good ubucation
- Terra (10/5): - Nice hotel staff was very nice as well
- reyna (2/5): - El lugar estaba muy sucio y olía mal, el staff muy amable, ese hotel necesita remodelación y limpieza
- Sandra (10/5): - good
- allP6264RP (4/5): Stolen Phone Ruins Stay - I left my cellphone in our room when we left. I texted the hotel within half an hour and told them about it but they said my phone was not there! I know I did not pack my phone when leaving because it was with my earphones and they were also not packed. When my wife texted the hotel she also asked them to check the van so I guess someone thought I wasn't sure where I left it and took advantage. I know for certain I left my phone in our room with my earphones and I am sure there is a thief working at that hotel and it shouldn't be difficult to figure out who it is. But I guess management doesn't want to know. Management said procedure was followed to check on my phone . . . difficult to believe when I am absolutely certain my phone was left in the room.
- Asuntha (10/5): - Area is very convenient, there’s a huge shopping centre right beside the hotel and lots of places to eat. Perfect for a short stay
- ameevanessa (2/5): Absolutly avoid this hotel - Terrible Customer Service & Dishonest Staff Avoid This Hotel!
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with this hotel, and I feel compelled to warn others. I had a reservation, but before canceling, I called the hotel directly to confirm whether I would be eligible for a refund. I spoke with a staff member named Anna, who clearly assured me that I could get my money back. Based on this confirmation, I canceled my booking through Booking.com and rebooked my stay elsewhere.
After canceling, Anna suddenly backtracked, saying she was not authorized to issue refunds something she failed to mention earlier. To clarify the situation, I contacted Booking.com, who confirmed in writing that the hotel had agreed to process my refund. I was relieved until I received an email from the hotel denying the refund altogether.
When I called the hotel again to sort this out, they kept putting me on hold repeatedly, wasting my time instead of addressing the issue. Eventually, they Sayed today Monday the 10th of February that there was no manager in tne hotel because it was weekend… I reminded the lady that it was Monday not weekend , she pitted me on hold again for at least ten minuts and then she Sayed i coupd zend a complain email to the manger and she gave me this email address t escalate (cecht.front@norte19.com) this email adress was not working and in addition they were truly not professional involved and obviously not taking customers seriously.
to file a complaint with the manager…. ‘ I have stayed at many marriot hotels in Marco island, San Diego, New York and I always rank the marriot with 5 stars … but this hotel can not keep the name marriot hotels because the service is so I Mens unprofessional , uneducated and absolutly rude.
essentially passing me around instead of taking responsibility for their mistake.
This is nothing short of deception. If the hotel had informed me from the start that no refund was possible, I never would have canceled my booking. Instead, I was misled by their staff, only to have them completely change their stance afterward.
I travel frequently and stay at Marriott properties all over the world, but this experience has shattered my trust. Their unprofessionalism and dishonesty are unacceptable. If you value transparency, good service, and a hotel that stands by its word, do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.
- alfred (2/5): - The door to the room was broken and would not latch properly. The part on the door that engages with the latch that can be swung across to avoid unwanted entry was gone. It had been broken away. The dead bolt could not be locked a it no longer aligned. The TV did not work or at least the remote would not cause it to react. The pillows were lumpy as if they were stuffed with balled up socks. The room was so small that there was barely room to get around the bed. I have stayed in many hotels of the Marriott brand and been very happy but this one should not be associated with the brand and should not be included on the Hotels.com website. On the up side, the WIFI was excellent.
- Christian (10/5): -
Everything is awesome. The staff are absolutely amazing! Service is wonderful and attentive.
- Marc (8/5): No Frills, Nice Breakfast - The rooms were tiny, but the showers were hot and the breakfast was nice. It's a no nonsense kind of a place. The people at the front desk are not very friendly, but it worked. If I go to Cancun again, I would go back to this place. It's not luxury, but it's fine.
- nitin kumar (10/5): - Good experience but room size is very small
- Dayana (4/5): - Did not like
- Andrej (10/5): - Very good for that money
- Claudio (8/5): - 👍
- Latoya (2/5): - The curtain in the bathroom fell dow spoke to staff no help I check out early and they did not grant me back the balance of my stay do not stay there
- carlos (4/5): - Service and room bad
- Carlos (8/5): - The services is no bad for the price
- henry (2/5): - They offer the choice of make reservations and pay at hotel. But when I get at hotel they don't honor my reservation. Thanks God one of the counter guys offer me to find another hotel, far from the first one , but, least We have a place to stay.
- Pako (6/5): - Rooms are small, breakfast is very decent but I guess it needs to be kept cleaner dining area
- Paul (10/5): - Staff excellence
- Rene (10/5): - Excellent place close to the airport
- Verified traveler (6/5): I expected to be better - No hot water.Shower soace not clean.Tried to call reception, call eon’t go out. When it finally did after several attempts, could here clearly. In another time reception won’t answer. Receptionist was with her baby at work.
- MARIA LAZIL (8/5): - We would like to comment about sound proofing between floors where we could hear noise when someone is moving chairs, furniture, etc on the upper unit.
Other than that we don’t have major issues during our stay, we dont have high demands as well and we are contented during our stay. A big compliment of your free breakfast serve everyday because of variety and freshness. Keep it up guys, thank you all.
- Jose (6/5): AC not working - AC unit died in the middle of the night. Not fun.
- HAZEL (6/5): - I thought since this was a Marriot hotel would be nice. Mistake!! Horrible! The sheets disgusting. The Ac SUPER NOISY. If you want to feel encarcelated those rooms are perfect. Horrible hotel!! Im glad i only book one night!!
Please those sheets and those pillows!!’ CHANGE them for new ones
- Verified traveler (6/5): Should have trusted the other reviews - It’s true that the air conditioning made a loud noise and without it the room was too hot. Breakfast is very basic. There much better options in the area. Good thing we didn’t stay long.
- Nicolas (8/5): - ... Simple...helpful...What you expect from a hotel...and the elevators are so quiet ( Thumbs Up for the maintenance )...Bring a working watch or clock ( with an alarm ) that is NOT Connected... some issues with the phones connected to WI-Fi ...messing up the correct time... Not Hotel related...but more of a security for peace of mind...Don't leave without sunscreen... or towels ( available at front desk in exchange for Passeport or ID ...
Proper place to stay... Will go without hesitation... Breakfast included...Excellent coffee ( quick too )... Nice little pool to cool off when you arrive or spend the day to do Nothing ...Shared with the City Express next door... Family oriented facilities... Great Choice and very pleased that we chose the Junior for our whole stay in Cancun Mexico...No regrets ! ... Enjoy ! Muchas Gratias para todos !!! ... They could explore a Tours Agency at the lobby... and an airport shuttle service on the Website... From our experience, make sure you have a shuttle service or do your homework properly ...You'll find them pretty much every where... Your adventure begins... Have Fun !
- Zaida (6/5): - Check in process "poor"
- María Patricia (8/5): - Buen hotel para una estadía rápida o si solo necesitas llegar a descansar a él. Cómodo y con lo necesario, los recepcionistas te ayudan en todo lo que está en sus manos. Gracias!
- bushido416 (10/5): Great place to stay and relax - This is not a fancy hotel but it is clean and in a good location, right next to the large shopping mall - Plaza las Americas. There are a ton of places to get food including some street food near by. The rooms are small but kept clean. The free breakfast does not have too many choices but I never went away hungry. The pool is not very large but almost every time I went there I was the only one. It is a good location to be picked up for day trips. The staff were all very nice and very helpful any time I had a question.
- Margarita (6/5): - Me gustó su cercanía a los centros comerciales
- Cesar (10/5): - El unoco pero que le pondria es el olor del aire acondicionado, tiene un olor de humedad un tanto desagradable.
- Resort30090407537 (2/5): The most terrible experience that I HAD in my entire life. - The hotel is terrible, I do not recommend : the rooms are very small, the bathroom looks like it had years without be clean I don't recommend this hotel to anyone, I stayed here for 2 days and couldn't wait to leave. The hotel room is very cramped, if you want to iron your clothes you have to beg for an iron as it doesn't exist in the room. At reception they ask you to leave your passport so you can take the iron to your room and this is when there is an iron available. the bathroom curtain and micro, it looks like it was divided into 4 parts to be used in other rooms, not to mention it looks dirty. the bathroom is filthy, the sink makes brushing your teeth or touching the tap disgusting. Breakfast isn't great either. The TV has a terrible image and the sound seems to come from a time tunnel. The towels
They are old and look dirty. Also, they only change your towel if you ask and if you are lucky enough to have towels available. I definitely don't recommend this hotel, don't waste your time, spend a little more renting a good hotel. This hotel is a total disappointment. If you like a minimum of comfort, stay away from this hotel.
- Akhil (8/5): - Need more options in breakfast save stuff everyday is boring 😀
- Dawn (4/5): - The rooms and elevator were TINY. I had to leave 3 days early because the beds were SUPER uncomfortable to me and my 13 year old very tall and slim son. I would not stay there again.
- H6481EEjessicar (2/5): Never coming back - Horrible, dirty, no towels, bad smell inside the room, no a/c. The staff were all friendly but the hotel price is not worth it at all. Breakfast was ok, the location is ok too if You'll be working around. There is a big mall right across tge street
- Antonio (6/5): - Good air conditioner, and location
- Joshua (2/5): - the worst experience I’ve ever had. They changed us from rooms twice, the A/C had a huge leak of water, mold everywhere, some parts of the room were falling apart, staff didn’t solve anything, they just behave the worst wat possible. I swear I could turn back the time to never go there.
- heatherpin (2/5): Go elsewhere - Definitely not worth $100 USD. So I’d you’re staying for a night I do not recomend. Go for somewhere higher than 3 stars. Not sure how it got the 3 stars that it did. Stains on the wall, the room smelled like cat pee, saw a few marks on the bed sheets and pillow, hairs all on the bathroom floor, the blinds were broken so it was very bright waking my up… didn’t feel very clean, not an ideal stay
- Javier (8/5): - Located in a very centric area to Plaza de las Americas and any business activity needed, banks, SAT, etc.
- Vadim (6/5): - I rented a double room just for one night after cancjn airport and my final resort destination. The facility and staff are good. But we had a really bad experience with AC unit - it was so noisy at night so it was not able to sleep good. Also it was not able to handle the hot weather outside during day time because I guess they had really bad windows . It was like a hell
- Tony (10/5): Convenient location - Friendly staff, hotel located just across America mall and next to convenient store.
The gym has three exercise equipment but are all broken, no towels available at the gym but has disinfectant wipes.
- SUE (4/5): - Several things but I did not let comments because they ask me to full a big paper and I had to go for work, So i have not give it to them yet.
Air conditioned was old and leaking!! I almost fall down in the morning really dangerous!!
- mariakN96DR (2/5): Don’t go there - Me and my sister booked for one night because our flight got delayed. Our room had a heavy smell of mold in there so I couldn’t stay because I got a migraine and couldn’t breath because of mold. My sister said she’ll try to sleep there because we were broke and really tired, I just stayed in the lobby reading and drinking coffee. A bit later my sister says there are cockroaches in our room and I went to look and saw then too. We checkd out and the receptionist was very friendly, until we said our room smelled like mold and had cockroaches, then he became very rude and angry at us, send security to our room and then accused us of smoking inside which we did not do. He told us we can’t get any money back. Also, the bed sheets were very dirty.
- B3085AHmel (2/5): DO NOT GO THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS - I had a reservation at the Junior city express in Cancun for 10 nights. I got on a plane on thinking everything is confirmed and I was expected to have a room at this hotel. My airport transfer dropped me off to the hotel and a lady in reception named America informed me my booking had been cancelled by city express because of some sort of made up issue with my card. I just want to clarify that there is nothing wrong with my card and it works normally. On booking.com it did not give me an option to pre-pay the only option was pay at property. Which brings me to my next issue, why were city express trying to take funds out of my card and even cancelling my ENTIRE reservation when I was due to pay at property. Meanwhile, I spent 1 hour of my time being told at the hotel by America and another lady who I am assuming is the supervisor who was extremely rude to me and ignored me while I was literally very upset and explained to them I am a solo female traveller and they had no sympathy whatsoever. Perhaps that lady was the one who cancelled my reservation because she could not look me in the eye once. I was treated so disgusting I would not wish that on another human being. America told me there are no rooms available even though 1 hour ago my reservation was still confirmed. I showed them my email reservation and asked if we could proceed with my booking because I could not believe what was going on. They basically told me who is a female who is solo travelling to leave and go elsewhere. At that point I had been up for almost 24 hours travelling. These people in reception had no human understanding and wasted 1 hour of my time. Perhaps they saw I was a booking a room for one person and cancelled my booking to give to someone else perhaps for 2 people so they can make more money. Do not waste your time with these heartless people
- Jorge (6/5): Ok - Everything was ok. The place was clean. My major complaint is that the a/c unit was very very loud, so loud we had to turn it off to be able to sleep. I would’ve asked for another room, but we were there for only a night.
- MARIA (8/5): - Tiene muebles descuidados y el lavabo te empapas.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet and clean - I a quiet and peaceful time there
- Alma (10/5): - Great price and comfortable room
- Karen (6/5): Cheap hotel, don't expect much - Not really good experience. We were aware this was a cheap hotel, but at check in they had to change our room twice because the room was not in good condition and the bathroom was dirty. At the end of the day they cleaned the bathroom again and we were able to have a decent stay...
- Jennifer (4/5): - I hated this property… everything was bad.
- ben (2/5): - Don’t stay here, everything is small and frustrating. You will regret it
- Rafael (2/5): - They stole my glasses.
- Miguel (2/5): - Room in poor conditions
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Rooms are in terrible state. The first room we were given, the toilet was dirty and leaked. More importantly we were being bitten by ants, on the bed and at the desk. They offered to change our room after inspection. However the the 2nd option had substantial water dripping from AC, and the 3rd had visible mold on walls. The hotel smells musty. The staff did nothing to ensure that I wasn’t charged my 2 night stay. They claimed I had to dispute it with Expedia. They offered me nothing in writing to assist me…not even the general manager who responded to my email days later.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the location of this place. It is close to everything and in front of the Plaza Americas Shopping Center. The hotel was good and for a very good price.
- AlyssaStahr (2/5): Top 2 worst hotel experience of my life - My flight was delayed, so by the time I got to the hotel I hadn't slept in almost 24 hours. The front desk attendant, Daniele, could not "find" my reservation, even though I had the reservation via email and the hotels.com app. After over a half an hour of not knowing what was going on at 3 a.m. I asked her to just give me a discount on another room and I would pay twice because I was exhausted and desperate. She double charged me for the second room, so I ended up paying over $150 USD for a room that smelled so musty and had an eyelash on the toilet for only about 4 hours of sleep. I found out later that they do not accept late checkins. Why? So, if travelers are delayed at the airport, you just double charge them if they arrive after midnight and give no refunds? Then, I get to my destination to find that they had kept my passport at the front desk. No one bothered to tell me when I checked out; no one bothered to call me; so I had to travel back to Cancun to get it. Luckily, I live In Playa del Carmen so I could do it. I understand this is my responsibility, but the customer service and the total disregard for travelers who just want a safe night's stay and no refund, no discount, nothing after having a flight delay that was completely out of my control is sickening. OH - and to top it all off, forget the "free" WIFI. It wasn't working. So I was unable to tell my travel companion where I was - had to go to the mall to get it done. SKIP THIS NIGHTMARE HOTEL.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Rooms are very small
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms are very small
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I dont recommend this hotel the room smell at mood theycdont clean the bathroom i had to the room 2 time because the mood and small
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small room. Ideal for business travelers or just for one night stop. Terrible breakfast. Nice people and friendly staff.
- Gervais (10/5): - Clean and quiet place, nice and respectful staff
- david (10/5): Nice room. - The room was great. Breakfast was ok but no place to sit and eat. There were a few tables but some very inconsiderate people sat at them working on their laptops so people eating had to stand up. Bed was comfortable and there was a workspace in the rooms. More reason they didn’t need the eating tables to play on their laptops. If you’re going to be here for more than a couple of days, there are no drawers to put your things. It was not a problem for us. It was quiet and comfortable. I slept well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I spent the best time of my life with the love of my life lol, and though the wifi wasn't the best and we were barely on our phones, we had each other. I love that the hotel was around so many things like the mall right across the street! And a casino with a restaurant around the corner! And a subway in a gas station right next door. I'll miss this place, thank you Cancun!
- Abdulrahman (4/5): - The room was too small, TV without any English channels, and with terrible terrible pillows, I wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone, and definitely will not stay in it ever again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nothing everything is good cleaning personal very professional
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We really liked the location. It was very convenient for us. The breakfast was nice. And it was nice and quiet at night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Like: the pool
Dislike: the room. Too small. Bathroom airflow is not working. The room window exposed to a parking lot.
- Tara (10/5): - Friendly , helpful and courteous staff
Good fresh breakfast and 24 hr coffee machine ... love it!
- Cheng (10/5): Many thanks to the front desk staffs - We had a great time there, small flaw is that there is no mini fridge in the room for us to keep our cold drinks, however, we really wanna thank the hotel front desk staffs (especially Wilber) who give us lots of help, we appreciate you guys' help and your hospitality.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Best part was the location. It was close to Plaza Americas.
- conrad (8/5): - Good home nase or short trip. Rooms are good
- Julia (10/5): - Staff was very nice and the hotel is located in a centrical area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall its i a good hotel if you want to sleep only. Rooms are clean. Breakfast its ok. Worth the money you pay for
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 2nd stay, enjoyed it just as much as my first one. Very friendly staff!
- Firat (8/5): - The room was small, you can barely walk inside the room, the bathroom was small and the water wasn’t well running, but the staff were friendly and accomodating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - simple but efficient hotel. Like the location, near Casino, shopping mall, etc. already book another stay there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly and nice location , everything close around this location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was great love the breakfast, pool towells
- Verified traveler (10/5): Downtown Cancun - A new hotel and very clean inside. The rooms and bathrooms are a little small but a good experience and good price. Can easily walk to mall and great restaurant options.
- Giangg1604 (10/5): - Close to the mall. Great service. Easy access around town. Affordable.
- Unsatisfied (2/5): - There is nothing i like about this property with the exception that it is literally across the street from Plaza Las Americas. There was one supervisor there that spoke english (Carina i think) she was really nice but we only met her once and when asked for her the staff made no effort to.contact her for us. Check in took over an hour. The sheets on the bed were stained all over. The room was very small. Water stopped running so we were unable to take a shower when we wanted..we had to wait. We could not turn off or lower the A.C we had to keep on high. When we lowered the A.C. the floor in the room got wet bad. Reported to the front desk and they asked us if we took off the A.C. Because the A.C. has to stay on. The breakfast wasn't all that good either. The juices tasted horrible. I would not recommend or stay at this hotel again.
- Tizo (8/5): - It is small and comfortable place to stay. I would have liked for the room to have an iron. The place is located near the mall and the breakfast was excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the place and I will like to go again and rent a room
- Gary (8/5): My Stay was “ freedom with confidence “ - Friendly and helpful staff great experience
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Small and dirty room not courtious at the counter , I understand the hotel is cheap , but I think they can do better on their customer service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location near great mall for shopping and eating. Safe and secure.
- Miriam (8/5): - Its ok room small but comfortable
- Gary (10/5): Freedom With confidence ! Enjoy Cancun - Staff was friendly, kind and very helpful
- Gary (10/5): - Had a peaceful stay great central location fantastic staff very helpful and friendly
