• Linda (10/5): - Als je een hele kleine maar prima hotel wilt hebben met alle highlights op loopafstand en de tram om de hoek dan is dit de place to be. Uiteraard kan je overal op af aanmerkingen over hebben. Maar het ia prima bivakkeren, je haalt het ontbijt in een ander hotel wat ook onder dezelfde vlag valt. Het is van 1 eigenaar. Maar even terug op het hotel zelf. Het heeft een ienieminie lift maar het past net met 2 personen en bagage. De kamer is klein maar heeft eennkast een tafel en een bad met douche. De bedden zijn wel hard maar alles word netjes schoongemaakt dagelijks. De heren van de receptie zijn heel lief en willen je met alles helpen. Dus voor relatief weinig geld is het een leuk hotel.
• crt1971 (8/5): Great location - Really close to Sultanahmet Square, handy for the tram and train to get around the city. Friendly staff with good English, very welcoming. Room small but fine, hotel is tiny and has no facilities (breakfast is in a neighbouring hotel albeit less than 2 mins walk away) but if you just want a base it's absolutely fine.

• Tatikaza (10/5): Mini - hotel with a boutique spirit - Every my trip I live in several hotels. I like that style. We stayed in this mini-hotel for several nights. During covid19 this tiny hotel proposes a high level of safety imho. Every day change towels and linens, every morning cleaning. Why do I say about it? Coz for its very modest price! This mini-hotel has a spirit of boutique hotel. There is no butler here, but general manager Gurhän manages that hotel. He was nicknamed “grandfather” for his kindness and honesty. He solves all client’s needs in their favor and he is available 24/7. The manager and a cleaning lady were in masks all time. The hotel is small , otoman style furnished, and just 8 rooms! So it will be amazing for a big company to occupy all rooms. Also cool for friends, romantic or solo trip. Just don’t looking for Hilton services by this price😉 I used to live in middle class business hotels like Marriott or NH. 2 times I live in Hilton, sometimes in boutique hotels, and several times in mini-hotels. Also I had experience with resorts high and middle classes. So I know what I am saying. Silly to see reviews from people who don’t understand system money= quality and who are expecting Hilton level from budget hotels. For his price Merial is a stunning hotel. The ottoman style, stylevery day cleaning. A little fridge in a room, free safe, air condition. Lift get you to your room. The rooms are not big, about 17-20 sq meters. Standard double room had two beds, a bathtub, ten, sleepers, shampoo, shower gel, soap, bath cap, etc. The rooms are exactly the same as the pictures. The only downside is that the shelf under the sink is not comfortable for washing face. Breakfast is available from 8am to 10 next door 4* hotel with a panoramic view on Bosphorus. Good breakfast. Delicious, fresh food. Free safe. Free WiFi covers lobby and every room, works good. I highly recommended this amazing mini-hotel.
• angelochekS (10/5): Very gorgeous and clean family-hotel ! - We had a trip with a family. This hotel is very clean, romantic and historical. Location is great, 3-5min to Sultanahmet Aya-Sofya. We have been to many hotels in Istanbul, and for sure it was the best one. Staff is very kind and friendly. Breakfast is super!!! In this area this is the cheapest hotel. Very quiet area around the hotel. A lot of restaurants and shops available nearby. We will choose this hotel for our next trip too. 100% recommended place
• Ms_Yesi (10/5): Excellent location and very kind staff - Traveling solo to Istanbul, I wasn't too sure how much the language barrier was going to be so I wanted to make sure I was in a central area (old city) to visit all of the nearby attractions. This hotel is perfectly located near The Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Basilica Cistern. To my surprise, one of the top Turkish bath houses (Cagaloglu Hamami) was a 3 min. walk as well. Gurhan was so kind and accommodating. The rooms were quaint and clean. I’d 💯 stay here if I visit again.

• Phrenicz (8/5): Great Location, Excellent Service and lovely 'borrowed' breakfast - The hotel is ideally situated about 200m from Hagia Sophia which is central to a lot of the places you want to see in Istanbul, and It is about 300m from the tram stop which can get you to almost anywhere in the city. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with extra towels, directions and advice on where to eat. the rooms are small (think Paris/London boutique style) but well fitted so that you don't feel claustrophobic (make sure you check all options before choosing, becos they are different). The bathrooms are neat, clean and functional. One of the highlights of the hotel is actually not at the hotel but next door where you enjoy breakfast. The spread is great and the views are a bonus. I really enjoyed having the Masjid/çami/mosque about 50m down the road so I could make it for Salah if I left when the Azan began. Overall I would definitely consider this hotel if I was looking for a location close to the sights and wanted to experience the 'old city' feel of Istanbul.
• Youssef (10/5): Great time in nice place - Perfect localisation, main attractions like Haga Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topcapi Palace on foot distance. Which saves a lot of time in queues to get the tickets to the museums and sites. Not a very big hotel, but cosy and clean. Breakfast in hotel near by with astonishing panoramic view on main attractions and Bosphorus. Very friendly owner and the rest of the staff. Easy way to get from the airport by Havaist shuttle bus service to Sultanahmet. Wonderful stay, wonderful memories of the moments in İstanbul

Merial hotel is a cosy place, in a very good spot for tourists and really good and polite hosts...! I really appreciate their friendly mood and good will for helping. Nice breakfast

• coralys (10/5): - it is a very small hotel. The rooms are done with a local touch which is nice. The bathroom with the bath tub you can sin in is great. Kettle and fridge in the roo. Breakfast is good and taken in a bigger hotel next door on the rooftop with great scenery. the manager M. Gurhan became our private turist information center. Clean hotel but would need to give a good wash and white to the curtains ( just me being picky)
• ryansumo (10/5): Excellent Location and Value for Money - It's a charming little hotel that is well maintained and literally just steps away from the Hagia Sophia. Breakfast buffet across the street doesn't offer a lot of variety but is well stocked, and offers amazing views of the city. Only complaint is that the glass doors of the bathroom did not seal very well, so if we weren't careful we were spilling a lot of water on the bathroom floor. Otherwise very much recommend the place.
• Svetlanaverbych (10/5): Great location and enjoyable stay - Hotel Merial is heart of the city centre, near the famoust historical places, restorans, public transportation. Hotel looks like a part of Istanbul history, decoration of the rooms in old Turkish style make us feel old past life. At the same time we had all modern very nice conditions to stay at the room. The clean is perfect and professional services are excellent. Staff and especially manager were so kind, courtesy and very warmhearted. We appreciate very much for assistance and useful advises. It was unforgettable time to be at this place!
• Sychim (10/5): Warm, friendly, cosy - Hotel Merial is an 8 room boutique hotel that occupies a sliver in a building block. The room isn't large, but it's tastefully decorated in the traditional Turkish style, complete with day bed! It's reasonably priced and only a 3 to 4 minute walk away from the Basilica Cistern! And because the other main attractions are all so close, everything is within walking distance, including several (touristy) restaurants and shops. But what sets the hotel apart is its fatherly manager Gurhan, who is warm, friendly, affable and always up for a chat. If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of the main attractions and close to public transport (the tram is only a 5 minute walk away), then I would recommend Merial Hotel.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good value - The location of the hotel is without a doubt beyond perfect if you intend to do sightseeing in Istanbul. All the main sights in Sultanahmet are within walking distance and public transport connects the hotel with the rest of Istanbul very well. One thing to consider before booking this hotel, is the relatively small size of the rooms and the bathroom. For short stays it should not be a big issue but if you're staying for more than 3-4 nights, you might want to look elsewhere. Probably the biggest issues for us were a distinctive smell of sewage and noise. The most disturbing was the noise of running water when people in other rooms were showering or using the toilet, especially at night. To conclude, we had a nice stay at Hotel Merial. You get a good value for the price you pay. However, be sure you are ready to make concessions as regards the issues I explained above.

The hotel is right in the middle of the old town, so it's easy to walk to most points of interest by foot. Cons: Breakfast was not good at all but on the other side the place was really high so you can see the beuty of Istanbul. Keep up the good work.

• freetourestambul (10/5): Best hotel in Istanbul - We stayed at the Hotel Meria while we were in town visiting colleges. From the time we pulled up to the hotel, to the moment we checked out, everything was flawless. At the front desk, Kiraz took great care and a lot of time in order to make sure our stay was perfect in every way. She recommended wonderful restaurants (she even had a couple of appetizers sent to our table when we went to dinner the first night), gave us directions to all the different colleges, etc. She was extremely gracious and professional and a big part of the reason our stay was such a success. The rooms were beautiful, large and spotless. We will definitely be back!

• A (8/5): Nice Hotel close to all attractions - Very small hotel, but it was exactly what we wanted. It was quiet and clean and close to all the main attractions which was in walking distance. The staff were friendly and willing to help. Thanks again Merial hotel.

The rooms are clean and fully air-conditioned. The staff in the hotel are always available to assist with queries and have a cheerful attitude.
• Enrique (10/5): It is very well located and is a practical hotel - This hotel is not for fancy travelers. It is nice and small. For me was a nice hotel because has all the things that I expect: a good bed, nice and simple bath, air conditioned and full of small details. There is not a restaurant inside but I do not miss It because is surrounded with a lot of restaurants (small ones, expensive ones, any kind) The service is excellent and everybody are disposal to help you. The hotel is for short time trips. This hotel is for lonely travelers or maybe two. Not recomended with kids.
• Alfredo (10/5): Une service a la turque - Quelle service. Merci encore a Engin, le concierge de la journee. Il ma aide de trouver mon pere qui a eu un probleme de visa. Il a passe des heures au telephone pour telephoner lapolice a laeroport. Apres il m'a aussi aider de trouver la valise de mon pere. Tous le mnde etait genial. Tout le monde etait vraiment sympa. Lhotel est tres bien situe, a pied pour tout. Meme de mosque bleu. Demandez une chambre derriere pour ne pas avoir le brui de la rue et les chants de la mosque. Le petit dejeuner est sur le toit avec une vue magnifique a presque de 360 degrees. Cest un tre bon rapport qualite prix, pour le placemen et la service. Ces dommage que ils ont perdu 90 % de touristes en tuquie. Cest vraiment un beau pays avec des gens le plus accueillant que jai vu. Jai voyage dansplus de 50 pays. Cest la pemiere foisque je me senscomme chez moi.
• Arlyn (10/5): 200%. Top service - service was 200% . Turkish people were the nicest. And this hotel was full proof of it. My dad had visa issues problem. We were supposed to meet at thehotel. After 4 hours of waiting for him, i started getting really worried. special thanks t Engin who spent hours on the phone caling the airport lookingformy Dad. After 10 hrs we finally found that he was sent back. At least i was assured that he was safe, thanks to the help of engin. He even helped me look for my Dad's lost luggage after. That is what you call A class service. as for the rooms, just make sure to ask for the rooms not facing the streets to avoid thenoise of the street and mosque. Otherwise, the rooms are big, clean and comfortable for European standards.
• WanderingGem (8/5): Lovely little hotel close to the blue mosque - We stayed for a week in October, this hotel was a great base for our first visit to the city. Walking distance to all the main attractions and the tram network, there are a number of restaurants and a small shop if you want to buy any snacks or drinks to take back to your room. The room was small but perfectly formed and perfect for a city break.

• Alessandro (10/5): Ottimo albergo in zona centrale! Consigliato! - Ottimo albergo, vicinissimo a due fermate del tram e a tutte le attrazioni di sultanahmet, letteralmente a due passi. Il personale dell' albergo è presente ma estremamente discreto. Bello l'arredamento e comoda la presenza di minifrigo e occorrente per la preparazione del te. Ottima la colazione, sia dolce che salata, da effettuarsi sulla bella terrazza panoramica di un hotel di fronte. Ci tornerei, consigliatissimo!

The breakfast in the panarwmic restaurant was unbelievable. The food was spectacular, lots to choose from, sweet and savory, lots of beverage options -- and a BREATHTAKING, 360 degree view of the city. Great value. Would happily stay here again.
• Crna2007 (6/5): Good for Location Only - Likes: (1) Literally a 5 minute walk from hotel to Hagia Sophia & Blue Mosqu (2) From our room we could view the top half of Hagia Sophia and hear the beautiful sound of the "Call to Prayer". {Photo included} 3) Relatively inexpensive nightly room rates. Dislikes: (1) There is no dining option on site. As such, there is no room service or late night snacks available. You must go across the street to their sister hotel (Adamar Hotel) for the buffet breakfast every morning. (2) House cleaning comes by every day, however, she does NOT change out your towels automatically. I guess the towels have to be really soiled or placed on the floor in order to be replaced. New bath towels is not an automatic amenity. {Photos included} (3) No face towel, only hand and bath towel provided. Luckily we always travel with towel backup. (4) We stayed 8 nights and our linen was not changed..... not even once! We didn't expect new linen daily but every 2-3 days would have been acceptable. I suppose we could have complained but we're not exactly the high -maintenance-complain-about-everything type of travelers. I didn't feel that we should have to actually ASK for linen changes.... even if the hotel is not 5-star. (5) Extremely small elevator. Upon arrival & departure only one person could use the elevator if transporting 1 or 2 pieces of luggage at the same time. (6) House keeping would leave the room's window open (presumably to allow a breeze to come in since the air-conditioner runs only when the room key is insertes into the electric keypad). The window (shown below) opens to an alley. Obvious problem: safety!! There's a fire escape just outside the window in which a person or cat (or worse, rat) could enter the room. We actually had to leave a note on the windowsill politely asking that the window not be left open in our absence. (7) At times the wifi was veryyyy slow.... (I'm talking 'dial-up' slow). It was free though... somwe got what we paid for. (8) Would not be an appropriate hotel for family with children because the rooms are quite small. This is more of a quaint boutique hotel for solo or couple travel for 1-2 nights.

• 708hanig (10/5): Tourist & Relax - It was a trip for 7 days with reservation at Merial Hotel which is a great value for relaxing after a big day of tourism. Staff were very helpful,gentel and calm . The hotel itself is small but i forget this issue due to its location in sultanahmet & heart of attractions (everything is near to you) . I recommend all to visit this location and benefit from Merial . Read all comments is a helpfull overview . Thank you Merial staff & Big thanks to Istanbul - Sultanahmet. You takes my mind.
• Ana (8/5): Muy recomendable - Muy buena opción. Situado en la mejor zona. Habitación pequeña pero confortable. Poca luz al dar a un patio pequeño pero por eso muy silenciosa. La falta de vistas se compensa con el desayuno el el Hotel de la esquina en una terraza con unas de las mejores vistas de la zona.
• Egor (10/5): Best breakfast ever and location - They have breakfast on the roof, it is very nice for the price (see pictures). Location is nice, all attractions within the walking distance. Taxi from airport to the hotel - 50 TL. I will recommend to all my friends, and if i will visit Istanbul again - i'll stay there. The hotel staff is nice and friendly, last day we kept our baggage from checkout till the evening at the hotel lobby , no problem. Outside the hotel there is bike rental company (you may find them on the web, the only bike rental company in Istanbul) but the city is very difficult to ride - many of the streets are steep,
• RIMMA (10/5): Отличный отель! - Приятный маленький отель, завтрак сервируют в соседнем отеле, есть возможность завтракать на понорамной крыше, откуда открывается очень красивый вид на Стамбул. Расположение отличное, прямо в центре, 4 минуты до всех достопримечательностей, но ночью никакого шума. Полотенца меняли каждый день, когда уходили на завтрак, и за три дня один раз поменяли простыни. Красивый номер в восточном стиле, приглушенный свет, резные изголовье кровати, шкаф и двери. Большой сан узел. Хороший вай-фай в номере. Единственный минус- кондиционер дул прямо на кровать и вид из окна на какой -то заброшенный дворик. Но это окно занавешено красивыми шторами и когда вы придете после долгих прогулок по Стамбулу, вам будет не до вида из окна) очень советую этот отель

• anthony (8/5): Good Hotel Great Staff - Small intimate hotel minutes from all major attractions. The best part of the hotel was Sophie the woman on the desk. Very helpful and a stellar personality.
• ARBOUSE (6/5): Dommage !!!!! - Première nuit réveil catastrophe à 1h30 ..............un tremblement de terre !! un train traverse la chambre !! non un groupe électrogène qui relaie l'EDF turc en cas de problème vient de démarrer à moins de 10 m de notre chambre du rez de chaussée ..............bruit supérieur à 80 db dans la chambre !!!!!!!!!!!!! Durée 3 minutes................ Deuxième nuit idem, moins de stress parce que boules quies et déjà l'habitude !!!! le responsable de nuit nous montre qu'il n'y a plus d'éclairage dans les rues et nous propose un café !!!!!!................lecture en attendant que cela passe Durée 35mm .................. Le lendemain grosse colère et attitude gênée du staff ..........mais ne peut rien faire, pas d'autre chambre libre . Troisième nuit ...................... pas de bruit ............super Le lendemain ils insistent pour que nous aménagions dans , je pense , la plus belle chambre de l' hôtel....quatrième nuit idyllique !!!!!!!!!!!! Dommage, à ceci près l'hôtel est parfaitement situé, les petits déjeuners buffet excellents dans un cadre magnifique avec vues sur Topkapi ..la mosquée bleue.. Ste Sophie.. le Bosphore ..............
• Verified traveler (10/5): 10/10 - Our stay at Merial Hotel was quite amazing. The location is superb, I seriously doubt there are better located hotels in Sultanahmet. Although not very big, the hotel room was of satisfying size, and the interior of the hotel was very nice.

• Horst (10/5): Hotel inmitten von Sehenswürdigkeiten - Nicht weit vom Bahnhof und den Hauptsehenswürdigkeiten wie Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet, Topkapi und Basar. Auch die Fähranleger sind in der Nähe. Zu jedem der genannten Punkte sind es zu Fuß maximal 15 Minuten. Das Hotelpersonal ist toll. Eine Empfehlung von mir für Rucksacktouristen wie mich. Preiswert!!!
• Daniel (10/5): Long weekend in Istanbul - My wife and I spent a long weekend in Istanbul at this hotel. It is perfectly situated with the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia only a five minute walk away. It is also close to stops on the T1 tram line, which connects to the airport. Would definitely recommend.

Отель вполне удовлетворил запросам: не дорого, в шаговой доступности от основных объектов. Чисто, уютно, по-домашнему. Очень отзывчивый и любезный персонал. С удовольствием остановились бы еще раз. Впечатления самые приятные.

• Tea (10/5): "Great location & friendly staff!" - Location was phenomenal – one long block from the park between the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Tram stops in two different directions (Sultanahmet, Gulhane), each a five minute walk from the hotel. Very convenient to come after lunch and have a rest especially when you are traveling with small children. The room was a little small, it was being cleaned every day so carefully as if it was their own house. The bed is comfortable. All the bathroom necessities, towels, sleepers are provided. The elevator is small but it was good to have one. Staff is helpful .Breakfast is across the street on the top floor of the Adamar Hotel. Great selection of fruits, pastries, yogurts, etc., including cooked to order omelets and crepes. And the view from upper floor is fabulous!! You can see Bosphorus, Blue Mosk, Hagia Sophia and almost all Istanbul around. We really enjoyed it and we surely recommend it to anyone.

Великолепные завтраки в соседнем отеле с горячими блюдами, фруктами и сладостями (помимо всего прочего) Маленькие номера, но очень уютные и стильные, есть все, что требуется, включая эл.чайник с пакетами чая ассорти. Отличный персонал - отзывчивый и позитивный Рядом с отелем несколько забегаловок для перекуса, там же можно купить воду. Цена за проживание очень радует Определенно рекомендую

• Anna-Mari (8/5): 4/5 - Sijainti erinomainen. Ratikkalinja vieressä. Aamiainen naapurihuoneiston kattoterassilla hyvä. Hotelli uudistettu muutama vuosi sitten, kaikki uutta.mm. ikkunat mikä takasi rauhan huoneessa. Jos paljon matkatavaroita voi tuntua liian ahtaalta.
• Sonja (6/5): Das kleinste Zimmer ;o) - Zuerst hatten wir das Zimmer neben der Rezeption. Es ist tatsächlich das kleinste Zimmer im Hotel. Man sollte bei einer direkten Buchung tatsächlich wünschen, dass man dieses Zimmer nicht möchte, es sei denn man reist ganz alleine. Nun hatten wir Glück im Unglück. Die Toilettenspülung war defekt und es war auch noch nicht nur Wochenende sondern auch noch Feiertage. Bei unserer Reklamation hatte man zwar die Spülung provisorisch repariert aber es reichte nur für die nächste Spülung. Man war sehr bemüht und nach 2 Tagen konnten wir in den 3. Stock umziehen. Das Zimmer dort war größer und ausreichend für 2 Personen. Ein Frühstück wird in dem 9-Zimmer-Hotel nicht serviert, allerdings kann man mit Frühstück buchen und wird dann an ein in der Nähe liegendes Hotel verwiesen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Nachtportier bot uns abends einen Kaffee an und wir saßen oft draußen auf der Treppe. Das Hotel selber liegt im Zentrum der Altstadt. Alles ist zu Fuß erreichbar, die Hagia Sophia, die blaue Moschee, der Topkapipalast sowie der Grand Basar. Durch die vielen Gassen bzw. Basarstrassen um den Grand Basar herum kann man den Gewürzbasar wunderbar erreichen
• Ирина (8/5): Отличное расположение - Компактный отель для непродолжительного пребывания. Все на своем месте: удобное месторасположение отеля (близость к историческим памятникам и святыням), транспорт (бюджетное - берите Истамбулкарт, передвижение трамваем, можно и из/в аэропорт добраться, а на пароме в двух остановках съездить на азиатскую сторону), не самый слабый завтрак, относительно других отелей, в соседнем отеле в панорамном ресторане, множество на разный кошелек и вкус кафешек. Рекомендую.
• Erdogan & Taffy (10/5): Guzel, temiz, mevki bir otel, fiyatida uygun, - Otel Sultanahmet' te Yerebatan Sarnici'na 100mt mesafede, kucuk guzel bir otel. Otel kucuk fakat odalari iki kisi icin yeteri buyuklukte, temiz, banyo ve tuvalet sade fakat guzel iscilikli, otelin fiyatida cok uygun. Eger muzeler ve camileri ziyaret edecekseniz yada alisveris icin Istanbul'da iseniz, mevki itibari ilede muhtesem. Otelin kucuk olmasi sebebi ile kendi restorant bolumu yok fakat misafirleri yandaki Adamar otele gondermeleride cok guzel bir dusunce ozellikle kahvaltilarimiz muhtesem idi. Tek olumsuz bir sey vardi oda Otel sahibinin ya gulumsemesini ogrenmesi lazim yada resepsiyondan uzak durmasi. Misafir gittigi yerde gulumseyen bir yuz gormek ister, otel sahibinin suratsizligini telafi eden tek sey, resepsiyondaki diger calisanlarin gulumseyen yuzleri ve hizmetleri.
• Fernando (8/5): ótimo hotel - Excelente localização, serviço adequado. O banheiro tinha um pequeno problema de vazamento no box durante o banho e o quarto estava no plano da rua, com as janelas voltadas para a rua, com barulho até altas horas da noite, mas o quarto era limpo e arrumado todos os dias, as toalhas trocadas. O ar-condicionado ajudou bastante nas noites quentes. No geral, um ótimo custo benefício.
