- masono2015 (10/5): An Elegant and Cozy Stay - The Zetter had such a charming, cozy vibe—amazing staff, wonderful food, and drinks that did not disappoint! The rooms were stylish and thoughtfully decorated, and the huge soaking tub in the bathroom? Absolute game changer!
Clerkenwell is packed with fantastic restaurants, and with the Tube just steps away, getting out and exploring during the day couldn’t have been easier. Would happily stay again!

- davidtaylor0559 (10/5): A great little hotel - A really comfortable stay. The staff work hard to create a welcoming experience. Would happily stay again.

- thorirh2019 (10/5): A hidden gem - We arrived at this great hotel on a typical gray London afternoon. If you have not been here before, do not be alarmed by a non-existent traditional reception as you simply walk into a cozy bar atmosphere. We were almost like in the living room of someone's home where the hosts were having a nice party.
The room at the old house we stayed in was cozy with a coffee make we like. At breakfast you could order a good coffee and an egg Benedicts which was simply divine.
The hotel is situated in an area a bit from the city center but it only took us a good 30 minutes to get there by walking so it is not a problem.
The staff was very friendly (a still owe one of them a bottle of wine).
Simply an hidden gem!
- Lindsay (9/5): - Amazing location. Very central but quiet on an old cobbled square. Lovely quirky decor and comfortable bed. Such a lovely overall experience compared to other very generic central London hotels. Felt like we were in a private town house. Slightly underwhelming breakfast especially continental items.

- alison2026 (10/5): Peace and quiet in Central London - Very central hotel hidden away from the bustle of Farringdon. Close to station but in a world of its own in a quiet square. Made us feel special. Outstanding service. Beautifully decorated. Open fire on lounge. Fab bathroom. Massive shower. Sofa in bedroom. Bar and lounge popular but rooms completely quiet. Quirky decor. Comfortable. Fabulous French restaurant opposite and coming back to the hotel felt like coming home on a rainy night.
- Kat-Yee (9/5): Eccentric stay in the centre of Clerkenwell - Great location. Quirky interior that we loved. Lovely boutique hotel. Loved it. More snack availability in the rooms
More higher seats to eat from in the pantry
- kimmiju (10/5): Gem of a hotel - The Zetter is a quirky little gem of a hotel. The lobby/cocktail lounge feel welcoming and cosy, and I really wish I had more time to stay and try the cocktails.
The room I had was cosy, warm and pleasantly decorated. The bed and particularly the pillows were very comfortable and I had the best two nights sleep i have ever had while in London. St Johns Square can be noisy early in the morning so take some ear plugs if you would like a long lie in.
The bathroom was very clean and very pleasant - the shower was phenomenal!

- Aisling (10/5): I booked the Zetter for my mum and her partner and they had the best time. I’d been to the parlour for drinks before but - The location, the unique, decor, the staff, the breakfast Nothing
- Bruce I. (10/5): Convenient, comfortable and Cozy - I booked the Deluxe Double room at the Zetter Clerkenwell for a weekend London getaway. This was my second stay at this property. I value its location, solitude and comfort. The bed is excellent, the bathroom well equipped with nice linens and I appreciate the French press cafetiere in the room with supplied coffee. The rooms are cozy with good storage for your clothes and suitcases and I also appreciate the real pub experience at the Zetter Clerkenwell; you just walk through the pub to go upstairs to your room - it's like your own private residence. The Zetter Clerkenwell is convenient by foot to central London and if there's a bit of weather, you can use the bus, tube or National Rail. I really enjoyed my stay here.

- tabithas783 (2/5): Avoid! Triple charged with no refund or apology! - AVOID! We were charged for the room three times with no apology or refund. It has now been 3 weeks since our stay and we have heard nothing from them since an email at check-out. When we checked-in and told them about the issue the manager Muhammed was very dismissive of the issue. I am still down over £600. Completely ruined the stay for us. The staff kept asking if my partner was enjoying his birthday which felt completely tactless. I am in complete disbelief as to why they can't simply process the refund.

- Jemma (7/5): Lovely hotel but left with a bitter taste in my mouth - Beautiful hotel and bar area. Lovely room. Unfortunately I arrived to check in and there was no record of my booking. Apparently booking.com and zetters system hadn't synced up. Luckily they still had a room so I had to cancel on booking.com and then rebook directly with the hotel and pay again. I was assured I would be refunded the initial payment within 5 working days. They very kindly upgraded us to a larger room and comped breakfast. Unfortunately after 5 days I still hadn't received my refund. After chasing the hotel many many times and having to explain the situation repeatedly to each staff member I was told to call booking.com to see what was going on. I spoke to booking.com who informed me the hotel hadn't responded to their email confirming the cancellation. It finally got sorted but my refund was very late and I had to chase a lot to get it sorted. Not what you want or expect when spending a hefty amount of a hotel room for a special birthday celebration. Unfortunately left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Ho hum.

- kevinjgunn (10/5): Walkable to West End and City and escape the crowds. - The perfect home from home escape from the crowds and the noise. Perfectly located to walk to West End and City and only 5 mins walk from Elizabeth Line (Farringdon). So super easy for airports as well.
- Brad (7/5): Overall enjoyed our stay and liked the rustic feel. - Nice rustic feel. Well located. Had nice room overlooking the square. Got bigger room for the second stay which would have been nice for the first one. Varying quality of staff which made it important that you spoke to the right person. Seemed to be lots of staff rotating through the day and as a result the one hand didn’t know what the other was doing.
- Zina (10/5): - Wonderful neighborhood, with easy access to the tube. Really central location so it was very easy to get around.
The room was comfortable and cozy, and the hotel itself was quirky and cute. Friendly staff, and the breakfast was amazing. Worth the money to include it in your stay! Thank you!
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Nichole (10/5): Beautifully decorated and in a great part of town. Comfortable, cosy and close to amenities - So quirky and in an amazing location. No fridge in room, but staff were helpful to store everything in the kitchen for us.
- Andrew (10/5): - Lovely hotel
- PATRICIA (9/5): Séjour idéal à Londres dans le quartier de Clerkenwell ! - Tout Rien
- PATRICIA (9/5): - L’emplacement. Quartier très agréable et silencieux. La décoration. Le Bar. Les petits déjeuners. Rien
- Camilla (10/5): We stayed two nights for our wedding and had a lovely time! - The team was accomodating and kind and everything was perfect!
- apotte491881 (10/5): A quiet restful weekend - This property is a hidden gem. In a quiet neighbourhood, we had a wonderful weekend, enjoying unique cocktails, eating delicious breakfast and close enough to central London to visit the sights.
- Alison (10/5): Fantastic stay and lovely staff - The room was lovely. Downstairs the bar was wonderfully decorated and the cocktails were unique Nothing
- Nelin (10/5): - Food is delicious
- Dr. Dorothee (10/5): wunderschönes Hotel, rubum perfekt - Wunderbares intimes Hotel, ausgesprochen freundliche Mitarbeiter, sehr schöne und besondere Ausstattung, beste Lage, sehr ruhig. Wir kommen 100% wieder!
- Mark (10/5): Top accommodation in London! Quirky, comfortable, convenient. - So much to like. Location: Excellent. Quite a bit of vibe around the area but not roudy or touristy. Excellent access to Farringdon station. Staff: Wonderful. Got us checked in early, and well supplied with tea. Room: Comfortable and quirky. A/C so it was cool, a lift (some of these older places don't have this) and plenty of room. I think we've found our new go to accommodation! Not much really. I mean I guess guests always would like things to be cheaper!?
- Edmo1066 (10/5): Best London accommodation we've had! - Location - Clerkenwell has lots of cafes and pubs, but is not touristy or crowded, so you do get a quiet night's sleep. Close to Farringdon which is an excellent station. Room - comfortable, quirky design, air-conditioned, excellent water pressure. Staff - couldn't be more helpful and always ready with a cup of tea or a G and T. Ambience - excellent. The lounge was awesome.
- India (3/5): Poor nights sleep due to uncomfortable bed, loud street and clicking AC - Location was good
Free overnight parking behind it Single glazing - so it was very loud
AC was clicked when on so added to the noise
Uncomfortable bed
Uncomfortable pillows
Staff weren’t rude but also weren’t particularly helpful and gave no information about the hotel.
- Spoerri (7/5): - Gutes und frisches Frühstück und die zentrale Lage waren für uns erfreulich Das Mobiliar dürfte aufgefrisch werden.
- Mark (9/5): CHaracterful and comfortable - Unusual small characterful and comfortable hotel in a nice location. Very nice and helpful staff. Lovely room, bathroom and toiletries Not much really.
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ramesh (10/5): - Lovely property
- A8584EDaf (6/5): Zetter Clerkenwell - 'Quirky' 'Dated'
Dark , Top floor rooms - Curtains hang from windows in recess making it a trip hazard
Infirm people would never be able to 'climb' into Bath/Shower
- kimaC4322MI (10/5): Great style and even better attitude - We wandered in after realizing we thought we were going to the other Zetter we had been to previously. What a happy accident! We sat up at the bar and had incredible cocktails while chatting with the friendly and knowledgeable bartender. I noted the Aviary book (being from Chicago), and learned its importance in the mixology world. I chatted noteworthy London spots with other staff while my partner talked NBA (random!) with the bartender. We ended up with FOMO that we were not staying at the hotel and have made a note to definitely stay there next time we are in London. All the style, none of the pretentious attitude.
Also…random and fun taxidermy kangaroo and cat, for those who may be interested.
- Tourist237022 (10/5): Perfect base for bridal party - Booked The Apartment and another room for two nights for my daughter's wedding at a nearby church, with reception then at The Crypt on the Green. Location perfect and the hotel is quirky and stylish which made for great photos. Expensive but worth it as the service was faultless. The team seem very in tune with the needs of a wedding party and The Apartment had ample room for the Bride & 6 Bridesmaids to get ready. Very helpful in temporarily storing flowers etc that needed moving around the venues. Breakfast had everything at a high quality. Felt very personal professional and therefore calming. Thank you so much for looking after us all weekend.
- Brendan (10/5): Superb find in lovely Clerkenwell - This is an excellent hotel in a perfect location 10 min walk from Farringdon. Its further enhanced by the superb staff whose service is second to none. The breakfast is of a very high quality. Its located 2 min walk from the incredible St John's Priory
- Bluebellplasnewydd (8/5): Posh pit stop - Very upmarket hotel in the centre of Clerkenwell. Booked a table in the bar and late afternoon it was very quiet. The seats were very comfortable, more like a lounge. Service, as expected, was very good but there did not appear to be any draught beer. If you want to look inside and have a drink then this is an interesting place where you will be welcome.
- Lucinda (8/5): Lovely place, service a bit too low key - Lovely decoration in room and restaurant Staff weren’t very welcoming of hotel guests and seemed to prioritise restaurant customers
- Stacy (10/5): - Unique stay and feels like staying at a artistic, posh aunts home.
- Marissa (10/5): - Had a great stay and all staff were very friendly.
- Thomas (8/5): - Nice old moldings and paneling, cozy lobby with plush old chairs, very friendly, helpful staff
- Nomad599453 (10/5): Perfect central London base - Great little spot in Clerkenwell, top location for transport options, cosy, efficient and super quiet for central London. Would return and recommend without hesitation.
- David (7/5): Good but a little style over substance. - Lots of style. Great location. Friendly staff It’s a little tried. Some plug sockets didn’t work for example. Small room for the price.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (8/5): Lovely hotel - comfortable bed, fantastic bed linen and pillows. Very good breakfast. lighting in bathroom was gloomy. Magnified mirror in the bathroom.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (10/5): Utterly charming hotel and staff - Totally charming unique hotel. Charming, helpful staff. Spotless hotel crammed with period furniture and ornaments which makes a relaxing and intimate change to any corporate hotel chain
- OlwethuTK (8/5): A far cry from the impersonal glass towers lining most city stays! - If you’re looking for a hotel in London that whispers its charm instead of plastering it in neon, The Zetter Clerkenwell might be the rare gem you’ve been scrolling for, I swear!
It’s a far cry from the impersonal glass towers lining most city stays. Each room leans into colour, character, and collected detail - from deep-toned canopy beds and antique curios to cheeky artwork and wraparound windows that soak up the morning light just right.
The vibe is bohemian and a little eccentric in the best possible way, with rooms made to be lingered in (those deep tubs and White Company toiletries certainly help).
Wilhelmina’s Lounge pours drinks that nod to Clerkenwell’s distilling history, and the food hits that sweet spot between inventive and comforting! Tuck into truffle sausage rolls or an excellent rib-eye with chips.
Breakfast is generous and flavourful, with the kind of sourcing that matters (Dingley Dell sausages, for one).
The Zetter offers something surprisingly rare: a stay that feels curated, characterful, and very Clerkenwell
Highly recommend if you’re after more personality than polish.
- marc (10/5): - Just a wonderful spot to stay that feels like home. Warm, so friendly and such a pleasure to stay. Lovely quiet spot where you can truly relax with well appointed rooms in an incredibly well located location. Team were just wonderful. Thank you!

- coreyk620 (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay at The Zetter - My wife and I spent 7 nights at The Zetter in April and really enjoyed our stay. We were in room 12 on the 3rd floor. It's the only room on the backside of the hotel, the other rooms are on the frontside. There is no view if that is important to you. We liked it because the room was very quiet, there is no shared wall with another room. It was beside the elevator but it was not a problem, we never heard it. It was our first trip to London and we found the location really convenient. Clerkenwell is an interesting area and the Farringdon station is 5-10 minutes walk away. The room was large, the bathroom was clean, water pressure was excellent, soaker tub was a nice surprise. The bed was extremely comfortable. We didn't eat in the Parlour but it appeared popular without being extremely busy. All of the staff we interacted with were very pleasant. We would consider staying here again if/when we return to London.
The room also included a safe, umbrella, hot-water bottle, bluetooth speaker and mini fridge.
- JP-jun15 (10/5): Exquisite! - A soothing milieu, perfect contrast and all we could wish for during our short family trip to London. Highly recommended!
- AHID (10/5): - A
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- patrickasseman (10/5): Unusual and charming - What a great place to stay! You fee like you are staying at a friends place. Full of charm and the beds are fabulous.
Fantastic vibes...
- Nick (8/5): Second time staying here having enjoyed it on first visit - All good Nothing
- Kathryn (9/5): Fun hotel in great location! - Great quirky hotel, they have us a free upgrade, beautiful room and very friendly and helpful staff
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful hotel with a warm welcome in the heart of old Londons creative district. - Lovely welcome from our fabulous host who attended to our every need with warmth and a smile. Thank you
- Amanda (10/5): - Nice stay near the Elizabeth Line.
- Bratter (10/5): Had an amazing stay - I absolutely loved it ! It was cozy, welcoming, great service, the room was very comfortable, and my stay was great. Dinner / Room service variety
- heywood08 (6/5): Overpriced for small rooms in a quirky hotel - Quirky and individual hotel, characterful, good location. Rooms on the small side as are the bathrooms but have all mod cons. Basically it is overpriced - you are paying for the historic feel of the place but that alone doesnt justify the very high room prices.
- Joanna (6/5): Pleasant but far too expensive for what it is - a small fancy room in a convenient location - The location and the room was very clean The room and bathroom are both very small. Whilst it was comfortable it is just not worth the money - you are paying for its ‘olde English’ feel but it’s not worth all that extra cost just for colourful wallpaper and old paintings. It is also covered in scaffolding - perhaps they could have offered a discount whilst all that work is going on?
- Michelle (6/5): Funky hotel - The hotel is very eclectic and fun, the room was small but with a four poster bed and the shower was excellent - really powerful. It was a shame that scaffolding was up but the hotel had told us prior to us arriving and there was no noise. Location is good too. The only downside was breakfast. The buffet selection was very poor with nothing being replenished. The cooked order was good but not what we’d actually ordered. We didn’t flag it and just ate what arrived as it had taken a while. So to sum up, a small boutique hotel with funky furnishings in a good location, just breakfast that we felt was below par.
- Anthony (9/5): The hotel is a gem with a tremendous energy - if you happen to be in the area - The only issue we shad was that our room was not available until 5pm (on the other hand we weren't encouraged to check out until after 11:30am)
- janeamandak (10/5): Cosy, quirky stay in Clerkenwell - This boutique hotel in the heart of Clerkenwell is a delight, especially on a cold, rainy January night. You enter straight into the quirky bar with it's real fire and eclectic array of curiosities - plenty to look at while you enjoy a cocktail or have breakfast. I was lucky enough to be upgraded as the hotel wasn't full and the room had an amazing bath and fantastic view across to The Shard, as well as a very comfy bed.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- James (7/5): Lovely stay in a beautiful building - Beautiful characterful building, cosy bar area, unique decor. We stayed here for two nights including our wedding night. We did let the hotel know in advance and they were accommodating but there were no additional touches to make our stay more special, and staff weren’t aware until we informed them. We felt it would have been helpful to have an experienced member of staff in the reception area too.
- isabelle (10/5): Cosy and cool - amazing hotel in a fantastic location. Loved its quirky feel and cosy vibes
- Rubaba (10/5): Loved our stay at this quaint hotel! - Amazing decor, very comfortable rooms! We got upgraded to a junior suite to better accommodate our baby's cot. The bartender went out of his way to make us delicious cocktails even though it was nearly closing time. Love the location too! Not too impressed with the breakfast options, but that was not a big issue as there are lots of nice cafés within walking distance.
- Perry (10/5): We had a wonderful time - The staff went above and beyond
- Accentmonkey (10/5): Comfort, quiet, great service, and a real luxury feel - We were pushing the boat out on a real treat of a weekend, and this was the perfect place to do that. We stayed in the townhouse, which is cosy, quiet, and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was well stocked -- even avocado for your toast -- and the staff were cheerful, friendly, and, most of all, good at their jobs.
We had cocktails too, which were beautifully made and presented with a smile.
The only thing I didn't like was the weird taxidermy in the breakfast room, with its little deer skulls on the ceiling. That was plain creepy.
And I wish there had been a walk-in shower instead of a high-sided bath I had to climb in and out of. Other than those two things, it was all excellent. I look forward to going back.
- 101ShanG (10/5): Luxury 2 night stay - Blown away by this treasure of a hotel. Walking into the parlour we were transported into another world. We were made to feel very special by all. The management were amazing. Lovely attentive staff. The rooms and bathroom were equally stunning and big. Decor from the parlour was carried through to the room. Breakfast was delicious both cooked and continental. Loved the poached eggs and avacado. The beds were big comfortable. After a long day in London we fell a sleep very quickly. Lots of hanging space and a vintage sofa to sit and have read. There is tube station near by but we really liked walking to the attractions. Not far at all and passing many coffee shops and boutiques.
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Chiara (9/5): Otherwise great stay, friendly staff and wonderful location - we love the neighborhood - Nice property though we learned on the spot that now the Zetter is only the townhouse (the other building is being renovated and rebranded) I did not like that housekeeping is on demand. It’s a hotel not an airbnb
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Azura (2/5): For a boutique hotel which is charging boutique prices - it doesn’t live up to expectations. Poor value for money. - The cosy breakfast room turn bar at night. 1. No one was was available for me to check in. I had to ask the staff to be attended and wait for to be checked in.
2. I was asked whether I wanted the room to be cleaned. Said yes but no one came.
3. A card in the room said to ask for milk or milk alternative to make coffee or tea. I went down to ask for and none was available. Thankfully though a staff found some and delivered. Surprising that this wasn’t available at first instance.
4. the safe was not working and needed new batteries. I had to call to get it fixed. I didn’t want to be disturbed so decided not to use it/told technician to do it after o checked out.
5. I asked to deposit my bag after checking out. When I asked for a receipt or acknowledgment I was told I couldn’t get one. Also that if things were lost it was my responsibility as I had already checked out. Later when I came to collect my belongings I was asked by someone else for a receipt or a ticket. Doesn’t make sense to me.
