It is not quite as good as it used to be. If busy service is a bit slow and cooking a bit bit hot or miss- a bit of an average experience.

Secure parking. Relaxed atmosphere. Restaurant and bar very reasonably priced for London with a good and varied menu. My meal was great and the service was good without being intrusive. Room service not available during the evening.

• smA7407EI (4/5): Poor - We went for dinner mid week and left disappointed. The ambiance and interior was nice and welcoming but the food did not leave a good impression. Food was OK at best - not worth the 'gastropub' prices. The fish and chips did not taste very fresh. The chips were not well cooked and tasted like frozen chips that was deep fried. The waiter got several items on our order wrong. Service was slow. Will not be going back.

First rate rooms, lovely food and a brilliant welcome, all directly opposite Kew Green and Kew Gardens. It also has probably the best breakfast out of all of all the places that we stay; few offer Eggs benedict, eggs florentine etc. It’s lovely to have a change from the traditional full English.

• abab (8/5): Want UK vibe stay? - Served hot breakfast! You select the menu, they cook right away so its very delicious. Interior of the room was spot on. The airplane noise during extremely early hours (5-7AM) was not something I expected.

The room was cozy and comfortable, and the bathroom was nicely appointed with full sized toiletries and warm towels. Breakfast was delicious! We are sad that we could only take dvantage of it one time during our multi-day stay. My only complaint is that the pillows were a bit hard for my liking, at least. Would have been nice to have different pillows to choose from. Otherwise a perfect stay close to the Boat Race finish line and Kew Gardens.
• Tigger103 (10/5): Brilliant customer service - We booked a one night stay to watch our son running in the Kew Gardens half marathon. Our room was comfortable, quiet, nicely furnished with a modern and sparkling clean bathroom. A small bottle of fresh milk in the fridge was really appreciated too. The hotel rooms are adjoined to a busy pub, which on first appearances may make you wonder if you are in the right place. But, walk through the pub entrance into the hotel part of the building and if Alicja is on duty you will have the most amazing customer service. We needed to leave our bags as we arrived mid morning - this was no problem and by the time we returned later in the afternoon they had already been placed in our room. We were also able to have a breakfast and coffee ‘to go’ the following morning as the race began quite early before normal breakfast service. And this combined with Alicja’s friendly and engaging service throughout and an extra hour to checkout we were extremely impressed.

Having a free car park was a real bonus. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Breakfast the following day was delicious! Carpet in the room needs replacing as it was threadbare in places.

• maryrS6145JL (10/5): Nice quiet boutique hotel, ideal location with super food - Location was ideal for the main purpose of my visit in the National Archives. c11 min walk away. The tube station in Kew Gardens on the District Line was ideal to get into central London 30-35 mins on tube and also got to other location I wanted to visit on the overground from the same station. All in all a great location. Lovely old style character pub, was the most unusual hotel I have ever stayed in but in a good way. Loved eating in the library. My room was towards the back of the premises, appeared to be an extension built on, very quiet but as you're close to the airport you'll always hear the planes coming and going so bring ear plugs. Room had everything in it that was needed, really nice touch was a hand written card on the bed on arrival welcoming me and chocolate treats! The room could do with a lick of paint but didn't affect my stay. The food was top quality. Breakfasts were lovely. All the main dishes I got in the evening were beautifully cooked and very tasty, personally recommend the beef burger, the nicest burger I've had in a long time. Staff were all friendly and helpful. All in all, it was a really pleasant stay and would stay here again if I had reason to return to London. Would highly recommend.

• Bonymerlin111 (8/5): A good Young’s pub to stay in London - We enjoyed our stay here - staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was warm and comfortable and parking easy. Kew gardens is just a short walk away, as is Kew Gardens tube station (journey into central London takes about 30mins). The wifi was a bit hit & miss, as was the tv reception (great channel choice though) - not a major issue for us but something to be aware of.

• slashern (8/5): Fantastic hotel and bar. - Myself and my daughter recently stayed at the Coach and Horses in Kew, fantastic little place with great food. The full English breakfast was amazing! I was allowed an extended check out by the friendly staff and the hotel and bar were well kept. Only reason I didn't give the full five stars was that the room was too hot and I couldn't get the heating to turn off or cool it down.

Don’t rush for breakfast… it’s not your standard hotel experience. Cooked fresh to order. I couldn’t find a single fault even if I wanted too. Expensive to stay but worth every penny

When we arrived, she welcomed us and immediately made us feel at home. She took care of our requests and went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. Thank you! If I could make one recommendation: the process for closing the bar felt rushed and unfriendly. Lights turned on and hotel guests asked to vacate. Other hotels we have stayed were more welcoming.

I’ve had a few and this rated high on the list. Good coffees. The rooms are more than comfortable and all the staff are warm and welcoming. I’ll stay here again when coming to the Kew area.

From the moment we arrived, the welcome set the tone — warm, genuine, and effortlessly professional. Alicia at reception was exceptional. She made us feel truly valued as guests, took the time to understand the purpose of our stay, and shared thoughtful, helpful insights that enhanced our visit. It’s rare to experience hospitality that feels both polished and personal, and she struck that balance perfectly.
• ssP1491QN (8/5): Perfectly placed for Kew Gardens - This was our second stay here and, although we left it a little late to book and the upgraded rooms were fully booked, we were very pleased with our standard room (Room 30). It was well appointed, comfortable, and perfect for our two-night stay. We particularly appreciated milk in a bottle for tea and coffee, and the well-stocked mini bar, broadly priced the same as the main bar, which was a thoughtful touch. Alicja is an absolute credit to the Coach and Horses. She is helpful, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The location is excellent, the Tube is around a 10-minute walk away, and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is just a short stroll from the hotel. There’s also a choice of parking (underground or above ground), and despite being on the main road, it’s impressively quiet inside. Breakfast on the first morning was very good, although service was quite slow, with around a 30-minute wait. On the second morning, the wait was even longer (approximately 40 minutes), and unfortunately the breakfast was served cold. As we were short on time, we weren’t able to wait for a hot replacement. That said, the cost of breakfast was refunded immediately and without any quibble, which we appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
• X5024DQshauns (10/5): Beautiful Kew pub - Having previously visited I decided to return for food with family that have came to visit, so this review is from them, we sat in the atrium they stated how nice the decor was, football was on so there was a bit of noise as to be expected, food was good and outstanding service from Mandy, they plan on returning and are thinking about having a stay in the hotel
• melvetwelve (10/5): Comfy, cosy, great value! - Absolutely Brilliant 👌🏼 we stayed one night to attend a funeral close by the next morning. The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable and the honesty bar was a welcome addition! Secure, underground parking was also such a positive. We ate in the restaurant which was great value and very tasty. Can't compliment the staff highly enough, especially Alicja who went over and above to help us. Would love to book again!

• Bucketandspade1 (10/5): Superb Coach and Horses - This hotel ticks all the boxes. Set in a prime location for Kew Gardens it offers great comfort in their beautifully appointed rooms. Everything is taken care of with all the appliances you could ever need. A luxury feel. The staff are very accommodating whether in the restaurant, bar or at reception. The receptionist was particularly helpful and pleasant. I rate her the best member of staff as she made time for you. She remembered our request for a downstairs room because of my reduced mobility. We had a lovely quiet room overlooking their garden. The cleaning services were over and above too. Well done. We ate in the Library on Friday night enjoying a delicious three course winter set menu. The combination of flavours were outstanding. Highly recommend. The bar area was cosy and well tended. The public toilets immaculate. So pleased we choose to stay here. We definitely recommend and will be returning again Thank you to this marvellous hotel.
• Karin Elsebeth (10/5): Hyggeligt, rart hotel og pub - Hyggelig pub og hotel. Personalet var meget imødekommende og havde tid til snak og en munter bemærkning. Vi fik super service og hjælp med det samme når vi spurgte om noget. Coach & Horses ligger tæt ved indgangen til Kew Garden og der er ikke langt til togstationen.
• Roger (8/5): I would happily stay again and would recommend to anyone staying in Kew. - The interactions with all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The writing on the small menu was hard to read; bolder and blacker type would have helped.
• iryna_matv (9/5): - Everything was perfect during our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything worked as it should. What really made the experience special was the receptionist Michael. He was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. He gave us great recommendations, helped with all our questions, and made us feel very welcome from the start. Thanks to his help, our stay was smooth and enjoyable. Would definitely stay again.

• sharonbI2726FO (10/5): Great stay - Great location, 10 min stroll to the tube station . Rooms very clean and decorated well . We were at the front of the hotel and although the road was busy never heard any traffic. The receptionist who checked us in and out was very friendly and helpful

• deborahcS8581IY (10/5): The perfect London inn - The Coach & Horses is a wonderful inn: pretty and comfortable rooms; two cozy dining rooms with excellent food; and perfectly located right on Kew Green, close to the entrance for Kew Gardens. Everyone who works at the inn is terrific, but I'm particularly grateful to Alicja, whose warmth makes every guest feel like a family member.
• Jo (9/5): A great location, excellent facilities, warm welcome and superb staff. - Exceptional reception staff member, highly professional and personable, who made us feel very welcome and went beyond her duty to provide travel help and advice including booking taxi’s. A real credit to the company. Our quiet room on ground floor was excellent. Clean, well styled and fully stocked with everything we needed. Fantastic that Iron, Ironing board and hairdryer were provided in room without having to ask for them.
• Q4759QAgeorgial (10/5): Beautiful Kew pub - I'm not one to write reviews but I felt like I needed to write one I came yesterday (26/1/26) to meet with friends as they recommended this pub, firstly it is a beautiful place, great atmosphere, it was a little busy, I noticed that there was only 2 members of staff I asked their names so I could include them in my review they were Mandy and Alex despite being rushed off their feet they made it work together great team work! I didn't have food this time but I have been told it's good so will be back to try some.

• Richard (8/5): Would choose to stay there again. - The staff were generally young, proactive and welcoming. Alicja on Reception set the tone. She was a warm and professional. very well informed and willing to be of assistance. Food was generally good and the bar had a very good atmosphere. The room was nice and comfortable; the bathroom a little tired and cramped.
• Emma (8/5): We would return! - Our room was fine, shabby chic decor. Bed was comfortable. Toiletries were lovely smelling. The breakfasts and coffee were exceptional! I wish I’d stayed longer to sample them all! Unfortunately, my car was broken into in the rear car park. This wasn’t the fault of the Hotel, but they did absolutely everything to make dealing with it easier and less stressful. So many thanks to Mandy and the other lady on the Hotel reception (apologies I didn’t get your name) but they couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. It’s a personal choice, but we didn’t like the pillows on the bed. They were too soft. The bar staff on Friday afternoon were nowhere near as friendly and welcoming as the Hotel staff.
• Abbotsgirl_1620 (10/5): Family wedding as a single lady - From the time of arrival my stay at this hotel was marvellous...my boutique bedroom was very comfortable and well appointed loved the honesty bar !! Having a superb breakfast served in my room was a real treat on the morning of the wedding I was attending ...couldn't fault my stay at all

• Giuliana (8/5): Mixed bag - Pleasent bar and dining areas with welcoming log burning stoves. Good sized room with well stocked mini bar and snack hamper at reasonable prices. Lovely location on Kew Green, 10 min walk from Kew Gardens and 10min drive to Richmond Park. Small things... the room was superficially clean, but evidence that it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned for a while. Member of staff putting cutley on table holding forks by their tines. Menu divest of vegetables...not even the option to order veg as a side dish. Breakfast room full of uncleared tables around mid service time so went to eat in bar.

• Tina (10/5): Despite the guests next door another good, comfortable stay - Have stayed many times I love the hotel, pub, location and the free car park but most of all I value the staff with a special shout out to the head receptionist she is wonderful! Sadly the occupants of room 15 had their tv blaring until 3am which disturbed our sleep this time but this is not the hotel’s fault just inconsiderate guests

• Hollie (10/5): Wholesome and welcoming , I’m a returning customer. - The location , staff and how cosy and homely the rooms are . Pillows needed replacing and the shower head needed a good clean but everything else was perfect !!

• Emily (10/5): Lovely. Hopefully, I'll be back at some point for a personal trip rather than business. - I'm so sad we didn't get longer here. We travelled up late on the Monday evening and checked in around 11pm to then have to check out at 7:30am to get to our shoot. I'd love to come back, and hopefully get to have breakfast next time, which smelt delicious. Room was fab and staff we're lovely. Christmas decorations where beautiful too. That I didn't get longer there to explore and enjoy the food. The welcome snacks were a lovely touch, although torture to look at, and I knew the company card wouldn't thank me for sampling them.
