Let’s talk of natural light and great ocean view. In a good location public transport at your door They did have staff that spoke English, some did but very limited. They did have brochures in the room about what landmark and places to see in English. Even ordering room service was possible as they had nothing in the room to do so, calling reception left you frustrated as they didn’t understand what your request was due to lack of English

• 343applel (10/5): Nice food - The chinese yum cha on level 4 is very nice. The dim sum are delicious. Since our family arrived upon the opening time. There has no queue. Seats are spacious which is very important in this pandemic. Staff are helpful, however i found there are many new staffs cannot speak or understand cantonese which i think they need some training with the local language as theybare working in a local yum cha restaurant.

Walking around the area, it has a variety of restaurants, food stalls, convenience stores and groceries. The only downside....we couldnt find a nearby coffee shop within walking distance. Friendly staff and the rooms esp the bathroom were clean.

Staff is very bad in English and the lady AM on duty is so rude . And doesn’t speak well English. . Lucky they have Filipina’s staff who is very professional and well mannered and willing to help with a smile . Some of the Chinese staff also doesn’t have manner and doesn’t speak well English . Cashier during checkout is very rude as well . No smile and no patience to talk. Overall our stay is good. Just need improvement to Chinese staff.

But if you want to gambling just walking a cross the road and you will find the sand hotel. The hotel is clean and the room big enough, but the bed too hard. Breakfast is good.

Our taxi dropped us off actually behind hotel and there was some confusion where to find the entrance. The room was nice, staff courteous and the amenities great. The area was not too far from where we wanted to go. I especially liked the complimentary fruit basket. A nice touch!
• Krookat (6/5): Needs a renovation. Would choose another one next time. - The Golden Dragon has come in the years. The service is very good unfortunately the staff speak very bad english. David, the page in front of the lobby is awesome! He gave us very good tips that we could use well and was very polite - his english was good. Our room was on the 12th floor. It is very spacious and everything was there what you needed. Minibar and kettle were also available. The room smelled strongly of smoke, as no other room was available, so it was "sprayed". After that it was ok. Unfortunately the air condition did not work so well. One had the feeling that not so much fresh air was there and it didn’t get really cold. The bathroom is functional but not really inviting. The entire equipment in the room is getting old and needs a renovation. The location near the ferry is good. The Casino ist very small. I would choose another hotel in Macau next time.

• cult20 (8/5): Unexpectedly great stay - I didn't expect the hotel to be a pleasant one. We chose this because although not cheap, it's more affordable than other big hotels and the location is excellent. We checked in 2 hours earlier than standard check-in time but we we were immediately provided with a room (non-smoking, deluxe twin for two adults and two kids, booked for 6 nights). It was Christmas and New Year season. The lobby and our room seemed well-maintained. Despite its old feel, it still felt grand and charming to me because of the gold motif. I can imagine how majestic it was when it was still new. Our room was very clean and spacious and had a nice view of the Fisherman's Wharf (Legend Palace Hotel). Because our room was very cold despite setting the thermostat to 32 degrees, we opted to remove the key card to automatically turn off the AC, lighting and other electrical facilities during bedtime. The beds were comfy, and the blankets were thick and warm. Excellent, efficient staffs including Filipino personnel who spoke Cantonese and Mandarin very well. Awesome location with a 24-hour supermarket and several bus stops nearby and within walking distance to Macau Ferry Terminal and Sands Macao for the hotel/casino shuttle buses. If the hotel could stay this way, we would love to stay again!

We asked for a heater at reception and they said all heaters were given out and they had none left leaving my wife and I shivering all night. Not a great experience. Would not recommend.

Amenities were great and large. Only disappointment was the pool which is was under construction until further notice.

From checkin and checkout. They will greet you happy and willing to help always. Special mention to Georgia the filipinas staff in reception. Willing to do multiple task like checkin me and my friends and then helping her colleauges with other things. While she is checking in us the other lady ask her help and she help immediately while saying "pardon me sir, pls wait a moment i will just help my colleauge." That is a very polite gesture . And surprise me is she can speak chinese and english together . Actually , Everybody is very nice even the chinese staff. They are all polite and happy to serve . You have a great staff. • JimmyinChina (6/5): Really Depends On What You Want & Expect - First thing first - this is my very first time staying in an old local hotel in Macau. I normally stay at the Sheraton Coltai because of my Platinum status. In the past month, I stayed in this hotel twice within a month solely because my friends have casino room voucher which costs something like USD 75 per night including tax and they like to use the casino here. I was very skeptical staying in a local hotel but with this price, my expectations were very low. Yes, the rooms are quite dated but they are clean. The bathroom is also very clean with a blasting shower. The air-con was freezing cold which is to our liking and the in-room WiFi works well. The bed is a little hard but the sheets are clean and I managed to have a good sleep with its quiet environment. Not much of a view - first stay faced the pier and could see the helicopter took off, second stay faces the pool but in Macau you do not stay in the room all day so it’s ok. If you are a punter and like to frequent the casino, it’s pretty convenient just taking the elevator. It is “cozy” unlike the huge luxurious casino hotels. Have not tried the Cafe and breakfast so cannot comment. We did, however, patronize their Chinese Restaurant 6-7 times for dim sum lunch and dinner and we found the dim sum to be of high quality with decent service, averaging MOP100 per head for dim sum lunch which is considered very reasonable with the food quality. Around the hotel, there aren’t many restaurants apart from the noodle joint which was not very good as they mainly target for mainland Chinese one-off business. We had to go to the Oceanus casino across the road for a decent coffee. We also walked across the road to the Fisherman’s Wharf and the Grand Lapa Hotel for happy hour (10-min walk) as alternative. They have a very decent all-you-can-eat Brazilian Resaurant there which serves excellent meat with a hearty salad buffet (highly recommended for MOP288 per person). We ended up going there twice. To conclude, it really depends on what you want and expect when staying in Macau. If you are looking for luxury and personalized service, then this is not the place. If you are just looking for a clean room, good shower, decent air-con and WiFi and just want to crash in bed for the night, I personally do not have a single complaint (of course we had a very good rate). If you want me to pay over USD100, then I will definitely go somewhere else. Having said that, I did find the Front Desk & the Chinese Restaurant staff to be quite polite and efficient. The only thing that bothers me slightly is they do not have a lobby lounge where you can enjoy a cup of nice coffee at your leisure. I believe this hotel mainly caters for mainland Chinese visitors and groups as we saw many of them, but if you are out most of the time, who cares. Another tip is since getting a taxi in Macau these days is a real nuisance, we found they have a bus stop right across the Oceanus Casino across the road where you can take a bus to the town center (Hotel Lisboa) and return which is quite convenient.

Ever. - First, let me start with a question: who the h@ll puts an all night nightclub on the 10th floor just below guest rooms with non-stop thumping of techno music FROM MIDNIGHT TO 7AM?!? Sleep was impossible and the front desk was unable to do a thing -- except offer to move us at 6AM! Sure, right, pack up the kids and our stuff and move, for an hour or two rest? When we checked in, they let us know that "it might be noisy till the middle of the night" so we asked for a different room. But they said there weren't any available. Why, then, was there one when we were threatening not to pay? Besides the nightmare above, the room smelled of smoke, the atmosphere was so sleazy, the staff helpless, and we could hear everything in the hallway -- even over the non-stop techno beat. Plus the free breakfast they gave us to try to make up for our total lack of sleep wasn't worth the coupon we got it for. Gross. Steer clear of this disaster.
• sherwinpulayan (6/5): Needs improvement - Stayed in the hotel with my friend for a bachelor party. The room is a bit old and needs an upgrade. The facilities are outdated. The staff, however, were very friendly and accomodating, particularly the Filipino staffs. Also, the hotel is strategically located at the center of macau. Just walking distance going to Sands Macau Hotel were you can hop on free shuttles going to Taipa where venetian and city of dreams are located. The hotel is also just a walking distance going to a the grand prix museum. Overall, if you don’t intend to spend too much time at the hotel and just need it for sleeping, then this hotel is best for you considering that the price is cheap. But I don’t recommend this to couples or family travellers.

• SdSo106 (6/5): First time stay - First time stay at this Macau location. On the city map, it is near the old town area whereby historical places are reachable within minutes. The 3-stars hotel is old but my room is quite large with old interior, facing the harbour. This stay is expensive due to Chinese New Year season. It's double the cost of the last stay at Cotai Holiday Inn Hotel that is a 5-stars rated.

• Fabian (4/5): Crazy door knocking - There was someone knocking hard at our door at 7am. The hotel claimed they knocked on wrong but why must it be so hard.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Nice, but outdated. - Hotel is good, room is big but is outdated. 10-15 minute walk to the ferry terminal or wait for thier shuttle bus and also walking distance to Sands hotel casio where you can catch many of their shuttle bus to the Venetians and other area. There are few restaurants and small shop in the Surrounding area. Lobby and waiting area is small. When tour group comes in it get very crowded and crazy. Good value for the money.

• Funny_Rabbit (8/5): Good location and size but no shuttle bus to the pier - The hotel is close to the pier (about 10 mins walk) so there's no bus to the hotel. You need to drag your luggage to the hotel. The room is reasonably big with a lot of tv channel choices. It's close to the bus stop to the sightseeing places in Macau. It's reasonably quiet.

• Collagen (8/5): Rooms Smell of Smoke, Near the Ferry Terminal and Fisherman's Wharf - The rooms are bigger than expected and has a bath tub. It came with the usual amenities except no fridge. The views aren't so spectacular. It really smells like smoke even if we opted for a non-smoking room. The hotel is near to the Ferry Terminal to Hong Kong. Walkable... around 10 mins. Wifi for non-guests are given 1 hour free. One just needs to ask for a password at the front desk. For guests, there is an assigned password per room that needs to be renewed every 2 hours or so. The breakfast is average. There is salad, bread, fruit, some meat, congee and porridge.
• thd007 (8/5): good hotel close to the ferry terminal - good hotel close to the ferry terminal, the place does smell of smoke tho. but apart from that the sauna facilities is awesome good swimming and sauna rooms to relax and the then sit in the lounges to be pampered.
• Andrew (4/5): I would choose another hotel next time - my experience was not very pleasant . The room was alright, it wasn't very bad but the hotel staff was horrible. The staff front the check in desk didn't know how to smile. No emotion while talking to customers. It seems like they don't want us to be there. GiGi was one of the staff members that i really had a problem with.. Horrible service
• ramanujak2017 (10/5): Very good hotel - Hotel with excellent ambience. Located close to pier and offers pickup and drop to airport/pier. Service is exceptional. Rooms are sophisticated well maintained and provide all facilities. Had only breakfast and enjoyed it. Only problem is language or rather understanding the accent.
• jangV8162JF (2/5): Terrible stay - wouldn't return - My daughter stayed at this hotel last weekend and found the staff to be very rude and unhelpful, the rooms were very cold and when she asked for heating was told " no warm air" it took a phone call from myself in the UK before they provided a heater. She asked for a taxi to take her to the airport and was told to stand on the street and flag one down. This hotel is well placed but the staff need training in good customer care. She will never return here again.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy to find food and massage just below the hotel. 10mins walk to Sands casino! 15mins to Bronze Guangying. Free coach to Venetian and City Of Dream from Sands! And from Venetian to Airport was less than 10mins and just less than SGD$7. Need to improve on staff with beautiful smile ya. Thanks! Enjoy guys!

• gerard (6/5): Business trip - 1 night business stay. Room is dated and although was a non smoking room, it smelled of smoke from yesteryear. Otherwise good deal for price.

• William (8/5): Great hotel and perfect location. - The staff was very helpful especially when my wife needed to go to the hospital. The roon was very spacious. It even had a full size bathtub. The location was great, close to everything. I would have given it a perfect rating if the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the bed was as hard as the floor, but spacious enough for 2 people.The only other drawback was, there weren't enough English channels on tv. But i wouldn't hesitate going back there again.
