Guest Reviews
- Molly (9/5): -
- Tom (10/5): Loved it, great for a short stay - Great location, friendly staff, lovely room A lot of sets of stairs to take suitcases up and down
- Alex (6/5): -
- Melanie (8/5): Lovely - All it Stairs
- Daniel (8/5): Great location, fantastic value for money overall. Friendly and helpful staff. - Small room but clean and comfortable. Much quieter than I anticipated it would be. In the quiet end of Potts Point, nice corner bar next door. Twin room was quite squashy but doable. Beds were a little soft. 10am checkout.
- 彩彤 (9/5): - A nice neighborhood with lots of cafe/restaurants. Only 10 minutes walk to King Cross stations plus 20 minutes walk to Botanic Garden which got really nice views of Opera House.
And the share toilet was very clean!
- Kurtiz (7/5): Great if you need a room in Potts Point and pay attention to the office hours. Otherwise, just OK. - Overall not bad. The main reason for choosing this place is the location. Potts Point is a great location for travelling in Sydney. The room is fine and not too noisy if you keep the windows closed. AC works fine, and the room seems to be clean. The view out is just another wall of the adjacent building with very little sunlight, which is disappointing. Check-in times and housekeeping are somewhat frustrating with lack of people around. But as long as you keep the office hours in mind it's bearable.

- Kathryn (8/5): lovely location and awesome base in Sydney. - we love the urban and street appeal of this location- with great restaurants and cafes locally. easy walking to opera house (not so great if you don't like steps). Also we stayed on the 3rd floor of maisonettes - there's no lift - so ask for a lower level if you have mobility issues. lovely staff and great value for money.
- Adrian (5/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Good location to explore the city. Clean and tidy room. - Clean and tidy
- Sofia (9/5): Perfect place for a short trip - Great place to stay in Sydney. Rooms are fresh and clean, fully equipped and convenient, bathrooms are spotless and easy to use. Staff is very helpful and lovely. Nothing to note
- Engin (7/5): Benim ihtiyaçlarımı karşıladı - Lokasyon Merdivenler
- Nada (9/5): -
- Mimoun (10/5): Très bon accueil, personnel dévoué et efficace. Très bon emplacement. - La propreté des lieux.
- Marie-Claire (7/5): Room smaller than expected, but the location was quiet and excellent, staff very helpful - room was clean and staff very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and air conditioning worked well, thankfully because of the hot weather Room with twin beds was very small, barely room to fit our two suitcases. pictures make the rooms look bigger than they are. Not much in the room in the way of hooks, shelving, cupboards to put anything, plus no mirror in the bathroom
- Karl (8/5): - Sydney at New Year’s is crowded and extremely expensive, so I chose a more basic hotel than I usually would. Location was nice, lots of restaurants etc nearby and walking distance to the opera house and downtown. Shared bathroom wouldn’t have been my choice.
- Alvin (8/5): -
- Sienna (9/5): Comfortable, quiet , relaxed, clean, cosy but not too small. Wonderful location, 11 minute walk to the Art Gallery of - Friendly , caring , organized
- Daniele (10/5): -
- Thai (8/5): Excellent - Bathroom is very clean. No elevator
- Chris (8/5): Would be happy to stay here again. - Location was good. Nice area, close to the train station and a great variety of food options.
- Margaret (10/5): Gem in Potts Point Sydney - Exceptional property — fantastic location, great value for money, and outstanding service. Small, locally owned places like this are becoming rare; I’ll definitely be back.
- Marta (9/5): Beautiful place to stay in Potts Point - The location is incredible, a stone's throw from Kings Cross and convenuent transportation but in a lovely and upscale area. The room was bigger than we expected and extremely clean. Staff was also very friendly and helpful - excellent value for mone.
Would definitely recommend and stay again ! A tiny detail but we didn't have hand towels - bath towels were provided though.

- Liam (9/5): -

- Xenia (8/5): Great for solo travellers in Sydney - Reception was very helpful with changing my room to a brighter one - thanks a lot for that!
Location is vibrant, reminded me of central Manhatten, close to nice cafes and transport, beautiful for walks.
- Windle (10/5): -
- Dan (10/5): Location was perfect. - There were only 3 staff i saw my entire stay. And they all were wonderful. Location was great there's a cafe next door several bars and a restaurant on the same street. Grocery store and more up the road. My room had absolutely no view. It looked towards a plaster building 3ft away. Complete privacy. Sounds silly, but it was a twin suze bed a little short for someone over 6ft. I believe some rooms had a queen. Its a minimalist room. Clothes on the hanger draped on the shelf.
- Mark (6/5): -
- patrick (8/5): - Great location and public transport Non existent wifi… useless.
- Jiaqian (7/5): Okay stay and budget friendly, but worth managing expectations. - Overall the stay was okay, budget friendly and in a good location with easy access to bus (1-2 mins) and train (8-10 mins walk). There is one Woolie and heaps of dining places and cafes in the area. One thing to note, room preferences listed on Booking didn’t seem to be acknowledged, so be ready to be flexible. 1. I was also caught off guard by the Sunday staffing hours. Luggage can’t be stored for the whole day on Sundays, which I was only told at checkout, and it ended up disrupting my plans.
2. I found a cockroach in the room at night after having food in the room in the morning.
- Ally (10/5): -
- Lachlan (10/5): Short but sweet. - The staff were truly incredible. The lady that I spoke to the first few days when leaving for my day was super helpful. Offered me a guide around the city as I was exploring and was super friendly. When I had to leave. I’ll definitely be back.
- Jodie (8/5): - This is great for a budget hotel. The rooms are clean, freshly painted, good bed. Fantastic location. It is a budget hotel, the room and ensuite are small.
- Weibo (6/5): -
- Rex (5/5): Nice enough, clean enough, good location, but the bathroom is irritatingly small. - Nice enough, clean enough, good location. The bathroom is rediculously small - I couldn't bend forward to brush my teeth over the sink, because my bottom hit the opposite wall. The photo makes the bathroom seem serviceable when its not.
- Vadim (7/5): It is a great option for a couple of nights for savvy travellers - Location is good, great value for money, staff is helpful and friendly, overall good experience Quite small rooms, but not too bad if you just use the facility to sleep
- Frank (9/5): - Position, cleanliness and good value
- Taimur (8/5): Good Value stay at centric location - Location was very centric. Close to King Cross stations with several pubs around. 20 mins ride to Circular Quay or Bondi Beach. Would hop on Lime and explore city.
Plenty eateries and groc stores nearby. Felt safe as well
Room was clean and had all basic things for single person.
Check in process even after hours was smooth.
Good value Room was next to shared washroom (324) and there was distrubance everytime someone visited loo.
Pillow was dated, stiff and low
Stairs are narrow, had to take luggage all the way to third floor on narrow staircase
- Ammar (10/5): - Great location, very nice room
- Verena (7/5): Would come here again but you need to make some compromises :) - Good price for Sydney and really clean. Very close to the CBD and a nice place with lots of good restaurants around Could barely move in my bathroom, no mirror in the bathroom, no bin in the bathroom, no elevator, so really heavy with luggage
- Kristina (9/5): -
- matthew (9/5): lovely staff, really nice room with ensuite and a view, couldnt fault it. - I accidentaly booked myself into a cheaper hovel, checked out after one night and found this on last minute bookings, praise the Lord! Friendly staff, great location with my favourite Sydney restaurant just downstairs. My trip was saved!
- Carlo (8/5): -
- Jo-Anne (9/5): An amazing little gem that we will return to. - In the heart of one of Sydney’s loveliest areas with cafes and restaurants everywhere but quiet enough to enjoy the peace. Close to kings cross station and the 311 bus route to get around with ease.
The staff were lovely and so helpful.
- Peter (7/5): Aardig verblijf, wel krap kamertje - Locatie Krapjes
- Jakub (9/5): -
- Ela (10/5): -
- Marcus (9/5): Great location. Excellent, well kept rooms. Great for solo traveller on a budget. - The accommodation was in an excellent part of town. Close to several public transport options, good location for eating out locally and having coffee. Even though the area a little south is pretty lively in terms of nightlife, there was never any major issues with noise or bustle. The staff were also very helpful, and you could tell they made a great effort to keep the facilities clean. The wifi strength was not great. Since I wasn't able to get a mobile network signal within the building, wifi was my only option for using internet, and there were a few drop-outs.
- Catherine (7/5): - Very convenient and economical
- Emilie (9/5): -
- Laura (9/5): Excellent room in an amazing location - The room was amazing, clean, and organized. The surroundings are lively, with many restaurants, a supermarket, a bus stop, and train stations within walking distance. I recommended the hotel. We had a little issue with the keys when we arrived, so we had to wait about 40 min to get in the hotel. Also, the shower in our room sprayed water everywhere. But besides this two little things the place is amazing.
- Lucia (9/5): -
- Alice (9/5): -
- John (8/5): Delightful - Comfort and location Nothing
- Susan (9/5): -
- clungratana (5/5): it was an okay- good experience can have more stuff prepared for the kitchen for us(e.g. microwave) - how close and convenient the place is to everything and friendly and helpful staff no microwave and cutlery, the lamp light is very dim and no spot lights except the main light. so we had to prepare the materials from the supermarket (extra paid)
- Jared (10/5): - Clean, tidy good communication and exactly what we needed for a stay in Sydney. Not something I didn't like but a suggestion would be to have info on where the iron etc is
- McDonald (10/5): -
- Mark (7/5): -
- Margaret (9/5): - Lovely, comfy room; great value; friendly owner/staff; excellent location. Nothing to dislike :)
- Ruth (10/5): It was a very pleasant area and place to stay and we would go there again. - The owners have decorated the rooms very tastefully, the bed was super-comfortable and they had thought of everything I needed. They treated us like friends and re-located us to the first floor when they saw that my friend was having some difficulty with the stairs.
- Zehra gamze (10/5): -
- Emily (9/5): - Great location, lovely staff, well set up. N/A
- Amanda (9/5): -
- Harpreet (9/5): -
- John (5/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): - I had a wonderful time at The Maisonnette. The staff was incredible and extremely helpful. Of course, you get what you pay for, but it is in the city centre and with more than reasonable prices. Higly recommended. In the first room I was, I had no clue how the AC worked. Once again, the lovely staff was very quick to assist me, but I was still confused. One last thing that needs to be mentioned: it's not their fault, but they don't have a lift. It's an historical building and I completely understand it
- Sokhey (7/5): -
- Erika (8/5): - Location is wonderful, and staff was very helpful both during office hours and upon arrival on the emergency phone, as I was having trouble with the key box.
The stair case is narrow and not easy for carrying suitcases, but that is clearly mentioned.
There was one lamp that worked, otherwise there was overhead ceiling lighting. Both necessitated getting out of bed to turn on/off.
Not a fan of the carpeting, which was clearly a bit on the vintage side (judging from a visible tear by the bathroom), but that was also clear in the photos. Everything was clean and tidy☺️
Lots of restaurants within walking distance.
Great location!
- Hariette (8/5): -
- Abbie (6/5): -
- Hills (8/5): Good value, I would stay here again, in a room away from the bathroom - Was there a breakfast option? Room 33 was right next to the bathroom and I was woken by other guests. I would aim to get a room away from them in future
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ameline (7/5): Adorable and Comfortable - Good location and comfortable stay for a solo traveler. There were cute coffee shops and eateries near by.
- Kathleen (9/5): Perfect - Great location in a beautiful, residential part of Sydney. Gorgeous comfy bed and helpful manager.
- Helene (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, convenient, very helpful staff. Stairs, no lift.
- Raheel (8/5): It was good but be more responsible after working hours - Room sitting and facilities Staff Working time is on website and booking site is same but I went on the spot, seen at door staff timing was different and short working hours and after working hours , checkin process is complex, they don’t answer their emergency contact number, nor do not answer on booking site inbox. Pls work on those concerns Thanks
- Tiago (10/5): Good. - The place is really good, well located, nice to find places to eat and close to the city center. Nothing.
- Nomura (7/5): Almost amazing. - The location and room are good. The shared bathrooms looked nice but the third floor bathroom actually had 2 cockroaches and a bad smell. It got better after ventilation. The shower on the second floor was broken. The first floor bathroom was the best, no smell, no cockroaches and the shower worked fine.
- Oleksandr (9/5): Superb -

- Melissa (10/5): Excellent location, comfortable room and facilities, would stay again. - Fantastic location, comfortable room and facilities.
- Damien (8/5): Very good - great value, cleanliness, location, and staff. Rooms have everything one needs, highly recommend stairs bit of work
- Wesley (9/5): Superb -
- Joe (8/5): Very good -
- Joe (1/5): Would never stay here again. - Not much. The location was great. The room was tiny. The door didn’t close properly to the room. The cups were filthy. Bright lights in the hallway shine through the bottom of the door all night. Very uncomfortable beds. Pillows were even worse. Fan in the bathroom was very loud and pretty useless. Bathroom is tiny, toilet/shower/basin all on top of each other, awful
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Massimiliano (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Helene (6/5): It was an upgrade from a hotel in a great neighborhood and you do get what you paid for - I loved the location. The room had everything that I needed. For what the room was, the price was justified. The walls need color, something pale to brighten up the room. The fixtures could be updated, even IKEA would be an upgrade. The carpet was gross. Instead put wood flooring with an underlayment because the floors creak. For under $300 (not including new floors and paint) the room could be quite nice.
- Hayden (9/5): Superb -
