• Asip81 (10/5): Great hotel in a great location - Visited for a business trip and it truly exceeded expectations. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the location in South Kensington is hard to beat — steps from the tube and surrounded by London's best museums. Breakfast was excellent, and the front office team was genuinely warm and helpful throughout our stay. Already planning to come back with the family. Highly recommend!

• joganton (10/5): An excellent stay at an excellent location. - While this trip was on the higher end of the prices me and my significant other looked at, I wouldn’t have wanted our trip to London any other way. Location is the clear, decisive factor here. Proximity to the London Underground meant easy travel, and it was a solid, clean accommodation overall. Worth the premium spend for even the budget conscious traveler.

• Troy (8/5): Overall, I enjoyed the stay and would stay again if I could upgrade the room. - The location was perfect, close to metro and easy walking to where I needed to be. Food was wonderful, delicious breakfast and dinner. I liked being about to order a la carte for breakfast and there was a lovely variety of dishes. Staff were lovely and helpful. The room layout was a little awkward. Hard to maneuver due to limited space, no mirror in the room (other than bathroom) and had to dry my hair without a mirror. Not enough desk space. My room was on side of the hotel by the French school and during the day there was a lot of noise from the kids playing outside.

• momovroom (10/5): Simply the best! - Agh……And Relax 🧘‍♀️ Back at my favourite hotel. This is my 6th stay at The Ampersand Hotel which is situated in the most wonderful location. The hotel and its great staff never disappoints. I was staying for recreational reasons, kicking off my 60th celebrations in style by staying here. I arrived at midday and was immediately greeted by the check in staff who informed me that I had been given an upgrade to a superior room which was all ready for entry. Check in was seamlessly easy and I was able to have a quick freshen up before heading straight out to meet friends. When I returned early evening, I was pleasantly surprised by a lovely platter of sweet treats for my birthday with a lovely personalised card from the hotel. This hotel is immaculate, has experienced staff/concierge and is in a superb safe location which makes it special….a no brainier for the discerning traveller Well done Niels, you & your Team represent the best of hospitality in London.

• Jessica (9/5): We had last minute travel changes and the staff was easy to get ahold of and very accommodating to help us extend our st - Staff exceptional and loved the location- close to the tube station and great restaurants but in a quieter area to get away from the city night noise. Very accommodating and got a free upgraded room for our honeymoon stay and they were able to help us get a cab from the airport on arrival. The apero (dining area) food was fantastic. Had built in charging stations with a converter if needed. We were told the snacks and drinks in the room were included on arrival but they aren’t. They are still cheaper than buying them elsewhere though.

Great location, very pleasant staff, spacious (Deluxe) room and very good breakfast. Any negatives? Well, being told we had only booked an economy room by the gentleman behind reception, at a volume everyone else in the lobby could hear, was something I could have done without. (And at £325 a night that doesn’t strike me as particularly cheap). Bed a bit firm too but maybe that’s just me.

• BORIS (6/5): A Small Luxury? No. But good enough for South Kensington. - The hotel is conveniently located close to the South Kensington underground station and many great London museums (that, unfortunately, I did not have time to visit). The Ampersand is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels group, and as a longtime member of the Leaders Club of the system, I say that it does not correspond to the level. This is a good 4+ star hotel, but properties that are accepted to be members of The Leading Hotels of the World (and Small Luxury Hotels are part of them) are exceptional properties with exceptional facilities and service. Unfortunately, with the Ampersand, this is not the case.

• mileswh58 (10/5): Small luxury hotel that delivers a luxury experience! - A small luxury hotel located in an upscale, safe neighborhood. A great location for stores, restaurants and easy access to public transportation. Checking in was seamless with very attentive and polite front desk and door people. The room that we occupied was had twin beds. The Bathroom included two showerheads and was extremely clean. The room, the beds and bedding were all top-notch. Very quiet. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

Location is excellent - a short distance from the South Kensington tube station and near numerous restaurants. Our room, a delux studio, was roomy and comfortable. Rooms have very modern electronic controls which work reliably. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Quiet although in the heart of South Kensington. Lots of cafés and restaurants in the area. Underground / Bus station in 3min. walking distance. Appreciated the excellent service by all staff. Everyone was very kind and helpful. They still know what client orientation means. All in all I really enjoyed my stay and will certainly return upon my next visit to London.

The location is just a minute's walk from the South Kensington underground station. Our entire experience at the Ampersand was perfect for us!

Frühstück à la carte oder dann Buffet frei wählbar. Gute Auswahl und gute Qualität. Frühstücksraum angenehm. Service war sehr gut und das Personal im ganzen Hotel sehr freundlich, Kundenorientiert und hilfsbereit was ich sehr geschätzt habe.

The Games Room gave us lots of space and privacy. Science afternoon tea amazed the children and the adults. Great food and comfortable rooms for an overnight stay.Special diets were catered for very well. Staff were all friendly, courteous and attentive. Thank you for making it a special occasion.

Room small and had a bad musty smell that only went after I had the window open a couple of days. Furniture tired and scratched in places.Luggage rack broken. Nowhere to have a bite to eat when I arrived (was told to order room service), luckily did not need to as lots of restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. I stay in many London hotels, this one unfortunately is terrible value for money. There are so many better places to stay in this price bracket.

Every comfort was anticipated. The staff went above and beyond, and were among the most helpful I’ve experienced. My family and I dined at the hotel restaurant a few times, and the food was consistently delicious and the service was excellent. The afternoon tea is an experience not to be missed. The location is fabulous, too - it’s conveniently located close to world class museums, shops, restaurants, and the Tube. Without any hesitation, I highly recommend The Ampersand to friends & family!

• Maria (9/5): - Excellent location, very comfortable room, kind and attentive staff. The breakfast buffet option was a bit overpriced at £22 given it lacked hot options (other than scrambled eggs). We had the à la carte breakfast which was excellent. Breakfast does add around £25 per person per night to the room cost which can add up.

• Nathalie (9/5): - Our favorite hotel in London because of its location and comfort. The Deluxe Studio is large and great value for money by London standards. Beds are very comfortable, shower pressure is great, and rooms are always serviced in a timely manner (mornings and evenings). The hotel also offers a complimentary, generous mini bar that they restock daily- not a given at all five star hotels. The hotel is located just next to South Kensington Tube and also super walkable if you want to stay in the Chelsea area. Highly recommend. Would be even better if they had a cozy hotel bar and spa.
