He helped us get into the apartment and explained everything very nicely. The apartment is in a great location, right in the heart of old town and yet very quiet. Also, the apartment has plenty of space considering how tight the spaces are inside old town, we had 2 floors all to ourselves. The restaurant "Rudger" cose by is excellent and a must visit for delicious food and drinks. I would highly recommend staying here!

Right next to a music school so you have the love the sound of children learning to play the scales over and over again. Poorly. From morning until very late. If you’re out all day it is fine but was working and taking meetings so it wasn’t the best choice for us.

• Matthew (10/5): A wonderful stay! - An exceptional place to stay in the heart of Dubrovnik; only a few seconds away from the Jesuit Steps. The owner Stijepo was extremely kind; we had forgotten to inform him of our exact arrival time and he phoned to check. Our flight was severely delayed and he visited to make sure everything was ok. Property very clean and well equipped with everything.

• Janine (9/5): Thank you for having us Stejpo and for our super early taxi ride to the airport - The location of the apartment is amazing. Very close to the Jesuit Stairs. It made exploring Dubrovnik Old Town a breeze. The apartment itself was super clean and comfortable. We had the upper apartment with the bedroom and bathroom up a flight of stairs but that didn’t bother us. You get used to all the stairs in Old Town pretty fast anyway. We made use of the stove top, microwave, fridge and kettle in the kitchen. Our hosts Stjepo and his wife were truely lovely and we felt like we had someone to ask questions of when needed. No complaints, it was great.

The apartment was well-appointed, spotlessly clean and the local host is a total delight. Nothing at all. As advertised, there’s a flight of stairs to reach the property and a steep internal staircase, but we took the owner up on his offer of airport transfers, so had help with our bags.

• BRONWYN (10/5): Fantastic hosts offering a wonderful 'home away from home' in a superb location. - Stijepo and his lovely wife were excellent hosts and provide an excellent 'home away from home' that is extremely clean and well appointed. The location is fabulous, though there's no escaping lots of stairs in any 'old town' location. Stijepo could not have been more warmly welcoming, friendly or helpful. Just know that there are 2 flights of stairs inside the building, one flight to get to the apartment and then a 2nd flight from the living area to the bedroom and bathroom. Thank you so much Stijepo, you were the most genuine, friendly and helpful host we have ever had. :)

The property is in a great location - if you can manage steps. You can easily walk to all the main sites in the old town and there’s a small supermarket close by. The studio was immaculate. A light shines through the glass panel in the door at night meaning the room isn’t dark. No where comfortable to sit apart from on the bed / No chairs.

Our host Stjepo was very attentive and there if we needed anything! Highly recommend! Depending on the upstairs guests, can be a little noisy when they’re walking around but not enough to spoil our stay! We would definitely come back again.

• Nicole (7/5): Se paga por la ubicación - Obviamente pagas por donde está, nada mas. Comodo y facil para pasar día completo sin estar detras de taxis que son caros o autobuses llenos de turistas. Nos toco el apartamento de abajo donde habia solo una ventana que daba la calle por lo que airear era algo imposible. La puerta con el exterior no era opaca, tenia un vidrio que hacia pasar la luz del pasillo y de la calle. Además, entiendo que no hay mucho espacio, pero sartenes que no giren cuando se calientan y, no digo cafetera, una moka chica podia ponerlo. Por último, la basura, hay espacio de sobra debajo del lavabo y habia solo un pequeño cubo al lado de la mesa donde se comia por el que se llena a la minima si estas ahi mas de una noche era imposible.

Stjepo couldn't do enough for us, allowed us to drop off luggage early in the day and arranged our taxi transfer to the airport. Also showed us the way to apartment to avoid the many many steps. If we visit Dubrovnick again would definitely stay here

• Sarka (9/5): In the heart of Dubrovnik. - Lovely place just a few steps inside the walled city! The room was clean, comfortable, with AC and a small kitchenette. Just be aware that when you travel to Dubrovnik you will need to walk with your bags from the city gates. There are no cars permitted in the walled city. Also suitcases on the wheels are NOT recommended!! Now when we know we will definitely consider this place to stay again! Longer next time!

Hardwork in the heat and crowds getting the cases to the apartment (we booked a taxi with booking.com so had no assistance with cases). Would have loved a little balcony to sit outside on ideally.

• Esme (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay at Apartment Santa Maria in the old town of Dubrovnik! Our host Stjepo was super friendly and kept in touch with us before arrival. He even met us at the gate of the old town, walked us to the apartment, and helped with our bags – such a nice welcome! The apartment itself was lovely and had everything we needed. The location is perfect – just steps away from everything, but without too many stairs like some other places in the old town. Just a heads-up: there are a few steep steps inside the apartment, so it might not be ideal if you have mobility issues. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Expect some noise as people walk past. The stone walls amplify noise. The music school nearby might bother some. We found it charming.

The appartment owner is incredibly friendly and helpful and organised a transfer from the airport making our stay very comfortable. It would have been nice to have a curtain over the small glass panel in the door to block the light from the stairwell but if you’ve walked enough as we did every day then this doesn’t stop you from sleeping!

• Layne (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay here! We were four females traveling together and felt very safe and comfortable throughout our time. The space was the perfect size, and we truly felt like locals. One thing to note is that there are quite a few stairs in the area, and you should be prepared to walk for about 10 minutes with your luggage since cars can't access the old city.
