- Leonid (10/5): Two nights that felt like two weeks, in the best possible way. - Woke up to complete silence, sea views and birds. No traffic, no city noise, just Tai O doing its thing outside the window. The suite in The Inspector is genuinely special: original shutters, old fireplace, real character. Staff were warm without being intrusive. Breakfast with the harbour below - hard to beat. Getting here is half the adventure (no Uber, limited taxis, walk 20 min or hire a local boat), but honestly that’s part of what makes it feel so removed from everything. Not a complaint, just a heads up for first-timers.

- Ka Yuet (10/5): A unique place that requires an understanding to history to taste. - The taste, it is a unique historical place and perserved good with respect to the history and local culture and balancing modern standard of comfortness. The accessiblity could be better if they can work more closely with local boat owners and local people. This hotel could benefit from getting more creative solutions to some of those practical issues. It could be better if it can work with local charities, artists and social orgnisations to create some access for people to understand the cultural and historical heritage that convergenced at this place/building/community.

- Lai Ngar (10/5): Tai O Heritage Hotel brings you back to 'Somewhere in Time' - You will find yourself living (staying) in history. An experience money can't buy.
When you think about that, plus there are only 9 rooms on the premises, the Tai O Heritage Hotel easily became one of the best value hotels I have ever stayed in over 80 countries.
The staff are gentle and humble just like the people you met in the village. Then I learned from the manager Nicole that it's the hotel's policy to prioritize employment for the local community. That makes this hotel good value with a heart ❤️. The shrimp fried rice is their signature dish in the magnificent Lookout Restaurant. Unfortunately, as a local, I found the taste of the shrimp paste, a must-try local delicacy, far too mild. I wonder if this is deliberate to cater for the non-locals as shrimp paste can be pungent and is an acquired taste. The rice was a bit soggy too.

- Gunther (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - Stunning sunsets - The location is perfect with the bets sunset ever. Breakfast is spectacular! Carl was extremely helpful and very pleasant - thank you. I think the check-in and check-out staff could do with a little more training.
- Kwok (9/5): Get away from the city with great and peace view. - Historical None

- Brenda (9/5): Lovely stay. - Beautifully maintained historical building and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was included and it was teally good. We loved our room but would’ve preferred the upper balcony rooms but they were not available. Theres no privacy to open the curtains to enjoy the view. But we enjoyed our stay anyway.
- Kevin (10/5): Peaceful stay in a wonderful building and location - An historic building that has been converted to high quality accommodation.
Fantastic location with a great outlook.
Very attentive and welcoming staff.
Plenty of interesting things to do in the area. Nil
- Ted (10/5): Embrace the Unexpected - The location is exceptional. Remote place suits writers and artists You need a boat to arrive there with luggage and most of the staff don t speak English
- Toni (8/5): - The location and history of the hotel made this a unique stay.
- Patrick (9/5): So charming old british style small hotel lost in the South of China sea - Le charme et le calme d’un petit hôtel ( 9 rooms) restaurant façon colonial anglais.
- Jessica (7/5): Fabulous location, building and rooms. Friendly staff but too rule bound. - Fantastic location, beautiful building and great views. Very nicely appointed room with everything you could want. Very tastefully done. Amazingly comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Not bad value for such a lovely place. Although the staff were very friendly they were too ‘rule bound’ and the level of English meant it was hard to sort any problems. Unnecessary ‘red tape’.
Too many barriers up to stop the day trippers. The breakfast was good but the evening menu was mediocre.

- Michael (9/5): A great escape from the bustle of urban Hong Kong - Heritage decor and character. Quality bed linen and towels. Large room Noisy air conditioning
- Jean-Marc (8/5): - Very nice hotel, 10-15min walking distance from the fisherman village Old colonial style but comfortable
- Siu Lan (8/5): -
- Richard (8/5): - Location is beautiful. Next to the sea with views to Macau on good days. Sunset makes the atmosphere of the hotel unique. A little bit off the tourist track, but it makes up with a lovely stroll through the fishing village from the bus/taxi stop. Aircon in the room is very noisy.
- Kaori (10/5): -
- Iris (10/5): - A unique stay to experience Hong Kong from another era
- Kai Yu (6/5): - No
- CHUN KIT (8/5):
- Guillermo (7/5): - The views and total calmness surrounding it.
The staff, very friendly, very very helpful. They really tried their best. Overpriced for the quality of everything, dinner was meh, all of the blinds in the room were broken so no natural light could come in, one of the 2 toilets wouldn't flush...it was a little bit of a letdown tbh. It was a Suite and some things were broken.... ruins everything.
They should allow or rent bikes so customers can come and go to the village.

- Hoi Sang (10/5): -
- Kang Cheung (10/5): - Very bright and spacious room with 5-star level amenities. All the staff were friendly and always carried a smile that made us feel welcomed. We were given a special tour of the site which comprehensively highlighted its historical background and significance.
The restaurant food was very good and came in large portions. We particularly enjoyed the Tai O delicacies and the steak. The breakfast (included in the price of the room) was elaborate and beautifully presented.

- Wan (10/5): Exceptional - The best retreat hotel in Hong Kong! Nil.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Warm welcome by front desk. Room well furnished NA
- Isabelle (10/5): Great start of my visit to Hong Kong - Great location, beautiful building in a traditionnal village
- Clive (8/5): A unique experience - Staying in a historic building is quite a nice experience. The staff told us to be careful with the room door because it was there from day 1, which is intriguing to us. We've booked the rooftop restaurant, and surprisingly the food, wine and service were good. None, except the room rate is a bit on the high side, and therefore, we may not take it as a place we'll re-visit in a soon future. May consider come back for a lunch or afternoon tea next time.
- Margaux (7/5): We loved our stay at the Heritage hotel and special boat tour around the stilt houses - The food isn’t very good
The overall look for the hotel could be better
- Kwok Leung (6/5): - I like the tranquil living environment of the hotel.
I don't like the limited supplies of food types of the restaurant.
- Rakesh (9/5): Superb -
- Pui (10/5): Very good experience in a Heritage Hotel - The conservation works were carried out nicely with good maintenance, the environment is clean and tidy. It is such a pleasure and treasured experience to be able to live in the heritage built more than a century ago. The location of this hotel is good as well, we can experience the small community culture and enjoy the nature there. Nothing special.
- Leong (7/5): Good - The place was pretty. The food was below expectation.
- CHING TIN C (10/5): -
- Ekaterina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Best hotel in best location
- Yongchao (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evan (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suryati (8/5): Staycation in Tai O Heritage Hotel - The room is spacious and cleaned..
The staff are polite and nice.
The drinking water is cool and fresh.
Good environment.
The overall building, not only the room, are well maintained.
The portions of breakfast are big. The room does not have fresh air. The guest should be allowed to open the window for a while.
The way staff asked for confirmation. They called me twice one day before to ask whether they need to provide toothbrush & paste. I said no need but still they provided.
- Lok (10/5): Excellent Hotel Service - All staff are professional and provide excellent service for us, especially the staff at the reception.
The hotel had been restored and is now attractive and impressive. Our room is very clean and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast are very good at Lookout restaurant. No.
- Ram (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Chun Wai (10/5): - Nice staff
- Michelle (7/5): Beautiful location and large comfortable rooms. - Breakfast was simple but tasty. Beautiful location and view from restaurant, really can't beat it. No English TV channels, and shower/bath area window ledge in need of attention. Minor issues. One of the curtains would not open
- HON FAI (10/5): - Nice view and excellent services
- Gurung (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kwan (8/5): Very good - Bed is comfy
Room is clean The shower could only provide hot water
Room rate a bit high
- Cheuk (8/5): Very good -
- Winnie (10/5): A nice, friendly, and peaceful trip - Tai O Heritage Hotel is a historical building away from the crowded city. Nice hiking trails to explore more visitor points to see the different cultures of Tai O Nothing that I didn't like about the property. I will visit again with my family next time.
- Lilia (6/5): - Heritage old police station turn in to hotel
- Yun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tat (8/5): Enjoy the stay with good environment, a nice relaxing place -
- Calvin (8/5): the room is quite spacious and cozy - good customer service
good welcoming drinks a bit far away from town and bus station
not enough signage to show directions
- Yuen (8/5): Very good -
- Tse (9/5): Superb -
- Ming (10/5): Love this hotel. - Location, historical background, architecture style, staff service, food, environment, staff services. no
- Wendy (9/5): A good place for a relaxing weekend - Heritage building, peace and quiet quite far from the center of local activities
- Mohammad (9/5): Superb -
- Ching (8/5): Nice staff - Staff is nice and helpful. The hotel’s appearance is great though it’s a bit far away. Restaurant is pretty with quality food. washroom is a bit old and the room is a bit pricey
- Amy (8/5): Very good -
- SIU PONG LOUIS (6/5): - A long walking distance from nearby shops and restaurant. The staff did not suggest to us anything to do in the vicinity. One of the coffee cup was missing. In all, the overall stay is OK but not worthing this price level.
- Kit Yin (10/5): - All good except inconsistent hot water supply for bathing and food quality not exactly awesome
- Fung Lan (8/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - low privacy, others ok
- Lai King (6/5): -
- Chao Fen (8/5):
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Tsz chung (10/5):
- ka man carmen (10/5): Good hotel experience - Nice see view from the upper level. It's a beautiful and comfortable western styled room with quiet and peaceful environment. Staff is friendly and helpful. Foods and drinks provided in the restaurant are fairly priced.
- jeroen (8/5): - Location is so beautiful and the history nice. The food is not really good, eat in town, many nice Chinese restaurant. Airco is centrally managed. cold during day and warm during night. Overall really nice to go there for a night
