Guest Reviews
- JAE HWA (10/5): Kind and good english skill - Employees are very kindly and there english skill were excellent. If you can't speak Japanese, that's not problem in this hotel.
- Myriam (10/5): - Very nice staff…
Close to subway
- Karen (8/5): - Great place to stay. Cheap and clean close to stations in a quiet and safe area. Staff are very helpful. Room comes with beautiful shampoos and conditioners. Fresh linen daily breakfast was included was nice but only served yogurt and pastries, which were fresh and yummy.
Recommend.
- WEN HSIN (10/5): - Nice and quiet location
- Ricky (10/5): - I really like the location of the hotel and its convenience to get around. The included breakfast is a nice add on as well. The staff are very helpful and friendly and really make me feel welcome. This is the second time I've stayed there and will most likely stay there in future visits
- Diane Man-ning (8/5): NO COLD WATER - A few front desk staff is not overly friendly with non-Japanese speaking guests. I asked why there is no cold water in the room and a chubby lady with hair tied back (usually on night shift) impatiently told me to drink warm water from the tap. Her attitude towards foreigners will be a reason for me to think twice next time I book when coming to Japan again. My hat off to the cleaning lady who clean my room immaculately and treat me courteously even we don’t speak the same language. But back to the basic question, why is there no cold water in the room? The water is too warm for face cleaning and shampooing. I need answer from the management. My stay was pleasant except for the high water temperature.
- Naoki (10/5): friendly staff - This is a nice little cozy spot and it is located in a convenient area where close enough to walk to Tokyo station (20mins) On top of that, staff were friendly and very helpful people. But there was an unnoticeable wee step before the entrance door so mind your steps. I was carrying a heavy backpack and almost fell over lol.
- Lana (10/5): - Been here more than 8 times . Good place to stay a single traveller
- Ryan (10/5): - Guest services were amicable and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast options were also very nice as well. I would recommend this location for a comfortable stay in the area.
- Thi (10/5): - The property have breakfast
- Thi (10/5): - A good hôtel
- Jakeliny (10/5): - Just small
- Damian (10/5): - Staff were very helpful. My room was a good size for Japan. Very reasonable self-serve laundry facilities available.
- CHAKKUMPEEDIKA (10/5): - Very good experience
- Jenny (10/5): - I liked this hotel. It was a modest stay for a young couple in their 20s with a smaller budget. While being a smaller room, it had all the basic amenities and free basic breakfast. You also get a private bathroom which was a big deal for us to have as opposed to other hostels and what not. They also supported takkyubin services to ship our luggage to our next hotel. The staff was kind and accomodating to our needs (for example, our suitcases were delayed from the airport, and the hotel received them overnight). Anyways, I would consider staying again, it was very calm and quiet.
- Courtemanche (10/5): Exceptional stay - We stayed for 18 days and the staff was exceptional, free coffee and 5 mins from 5 train stations
- Rhiannon (10/5): - This was our second time staying at the Almont Inn, the staff are incredibly friendly and were super accommodating as we had booked quite a small room in error. The breakfast buffet is a lovely start to the day. The hotel is close to a subway station and conbini. Overall, great place to stay, would highly recommend.
- Ryan (10/5): - Very pleasant little hotel. The breakfast is quite basic and has no real options for some dietary restrictions.
- Melissa (10/5): - It was very clean, easy to walk to and from the train station, and staff very friendly. Overall, we had a great stay there.
- Rhiannon (10/5): - Comfy room, clean and perfect for what we needed. Close to a combini and walking distance to train station. The staff were so kind and friendly, they helped us with the laundry and lent us umbrellas for the rain. Would highly recommend Almont Inn.
- Kanchana (10/5): - Hotel is clean, comfort & quiet. All service guy is nice and friendly. Hope to go there again.
- Sachiko (10/5): - I had a wonderful one night stay here. The staff were lovely and check in and out was very smooth. The room was extremely clean, comfortable, quiet and had everything I needed. I would stay here again without hesitation.
- Emanuel (10/5): - Definitely the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The breakfast is alright, given that it’s free. The rooms are quite small, but for the price, the service, and the location, it’s perfect. The staff is the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. The cleanliness is outstanding, truly Japanese standards, everything is spotless. The breakfast area is always pristine. The laundry area includes a dryer that could be a bit more modern. 10 of 10.
- Alexander (10/5): - Very pleasant stay.
Clean and quiet. Decent breakfast, enough to start the day.
Pillows are a bit hard for us.
Staff helpful
- Gustaw (10/5): - Nice, small breakfast included
- Andrea (10/5): - Very nice and clean spot. Nice amenities and great pastries at breakfast.
- Yik Shen (10/5): - Friendly staff
- samantha (10/5): - This was a very clean and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was simple but veru pleasing. Staff was very professional and helpful, spoke english.
Though the rooms are compact, they are filled with all necessary amenities. Bathroom accessories and even phone chargers.
- Andrew (10/5): - Staff were super friendly and very welcoming. The room was very well mantained, would love stay back again next time were in Tokyo.
- Heather (10/5): - The staff ! Was so nice ! And sweet !!! Would. Definitely stay here again
- AKIO (10/5): - 非常に過ごしやすかった。WiFiが不安定なホテルもままある中、ネットも設備も安定していた。ここはまた利用したいと思った。
- Ilse de la (10/5): - The property is great, it is located near of subway station, the staff is very friendly.
- BINJIE (10/5): - Convenient location and helpful staffs in the front desk.
- BOLIVINA (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel , exelent location and great service
- john (10/5): - Staff was lovely and efficient. Breakfast not very good. Yogurt OK but pastries not good quality and some weird corn soup every day. They should get a better coffee machine too.
- Rachel (8/5): - The room is small and so is the bed, so try to book a bigger room, two people wouldn't comfortably fit in a twin bed. The location is near the train station.
Breakfast is mainly bread yogurt, soup, and coffee. Overall this is a decent stay. Added bonus, the staff are friendly.
- Giuseppe (8/5): - The room was very clean and tidy and had all the comforts.
The staff is very helpful and kind.
The variety of food for breakfast was a bit poor.
- Shane (10/5): Everything was good. Definitely will stay again! - This place provided breakfast between 6:30 and 9:30 and it was good! Location is also good, you can walk to one of kayabacho/ningyocho/suitengumae stations. Room was good as well, quite, daily cleaning (you can skip), nice bed, lots of amenity. Price was reasonable for me. Definitely will stay again!
- Noemi (10/5): - My stay is relaxing. The breakfast buffet could be improved.
- MH (10/5): - The hotel was better than expected. Few 3 stars hotel can match the value for money.
- Shelley (8/5): - Nice hotel in Tokyo, with good access to the subway system and easy walk to several restaurants.
- Sofia (8/5): - Great location near train station.
Very good breakfast.
Great place to stay.
I would only reccommend paying more attention to the bathroom maintenance because even though it looked clean, it was a bit smelly.
- Andrew (8/5): top staff - Rooms are small as they often are in Japan but this one was made worse by the oversized armchair.
Staff were perfect in every way.
Area is a little quiet especially at weekends but the metro is close
- James (10/5): Great Hotel - Great hotel. Rooms while compact are very comfortable. Great service. Good breakfast (although could do with a larger seating area). Close to a number of subway stations. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Helpful staff. Rooms really small.
Concerned that we were staying during typhoon when it hot Tokyo. There was no safety information
or evacuation procedures for guests who did not speak Japanese. We and others had no idea what to do in an emergency. Spoke to some others from Finland who were very frightened. The Tv news station had no English subtitles or channels for weather info. When we moved to Kyoto the hotel there gave us safety info to read on our arrival and there was a notice by the lift listing procedures.
This is essential for the safety of all guests.
We would request that cereal bowls are provided. Western guests do not eat cereal from small coffee cups with teaspoons.
We hope the hotel particularly takes the safety comments on board.
- SY (10/5): - Excellent hotel! Very clean and the staff are fantastic! Free breakfast - nothing special but definitely helps you get the day started well :) Great location near a few stations. A short walk to Tokyo station. Area is extremely clean and very safe to walk around - even at night. A few convenience stores nearby.
The room was small but extremely clean and room service was done everyday. Comfortable bed. Bathroom was very clean with free toiletries. Easy to find - nearest station is Kayabacho station - exit 4. Nothing bad to say at all! Loved staying here and will definitely recommend this hotel :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient near to subway, English speaking and computer print out and free breakfast is convenience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was convenient and the hotel itself was fine fir a short stay. The rooms are very small but they are clean and comfortable.
- Rod (8/5): - The closest train station to the property is about 2 blocks away, which was great.
Most restaurants and bars are about 2 streets up BUT overall still pretty close.
Breakfast is free but consisted of coffee, juice, cereal and various types of bread.
OVERALL, an 8 out of 10.
- Ian (10/5): Good hotel - Good hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff are good at English and extremely helpful, the room was a good size, breakfast was included in the price which was rare for the area, not once did our stuff in the hotel room move during daily cleaning which made us feel safe
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room are very very small- only 1 can be up at a time. Then bed has to be smaller tgan a double and my husband had to crawl over me to get out.
Do not recommend. Rather pay more for some room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Easy access to almost everything. The room for me and my wife is very small especially with our luggage. There’s no closet for our clothes. We can hardly move in the room. No English TV channel to watch the news.
- Lisa (10/5): Short trip - It's a good spot and quiet at night. Not in the heart of the busy street but close to the subway and a walk away from the fish market. Was clean, nice breakfast and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. Good location near metro station
- Kelly (8/5): Room was a bit cramped, but hey, it's Tokyo! - Good location, within walking distance of the station. Has 24 hour coffee machine in the lobby. Breakfast is a typical Japanese style full breakfast with a lot of different small dishes. Actually the breakfast was quite good. The room was clean and modern. The TV was huge in relationship with the room size. The one detractor is,... like many Japanese hotel rooms, space was limited. In the room where we stayed. two people with luggage is doable, but is also quite confining if one isn't spending one's time outside. Overall however, for Downtown Tokyo, I think this hotel is actually a darn good value.
- Constantin (10/5): - Small room but they have everything you need, bed are for two tall people to small otherwise good enough to stay a couple of nights.
Would recommend to stay here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel. - Good hotel but tiny rooms, fit for 1 person.
- crystal (6/5): Check in problem - We had peoblem with check in. Booked 2 rooms and even showed the confirmation from hotels.com but they only hqve us booked for 1 room. Took about an hour until they decided to give us both rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place for a cheap stay. Small rooms but clean and free (basic) breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel has very good location. Tiny rooms unfortunately. Close to Tokyo station and walking distance to restaurants. Very nice stuff. Brekfirst was complimentary, unfortunately it was same kind of food every day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Walking distance to subway station. Clean. Polite staff. Arrived to the hotel early hoping for early check-in but told that there were no rooms available yet. Left my luggage with staff and when I returned to the hotel, my luggage was already delivered to my room.
- NoelP (10/5): - excellent staff sevice and rooms are comfortable and breakfast is adequate
- NOEL (10/5): - Excellent staff and facility Great location Continental breakfast was fabulous
- Verified traveler (10/5): - staff was really polite and helpful, room was clean and abit small though to be far
- Sean (8/5): - Great location, nice room, friendly staff. The reason I didnt give a five star is the communication barriers. The staff speak very limited English. The breakfast is availalbe between 6:30 and 9:30. It appears that they expect you to finish eating by 9:30. A Chinese speaking receptionist blamed me for finishing 15 mins late. I didn’t know there’s such a rule. They could have come over to remind me of the time but they didn’t. And I saw other people finishing eating after 10 and the hotel was fine with it. Also check out is too early (10am). They charge a late check out fee if you check out after 10:15.
- Volodymyr (8/5): - Good clean hotel, friendly staff. Free breakfast happened to be a nice bonus.
- Manlife (8/5): - Location is within 7-8 minutes from the nearest train station. There aren't many restaurants and shops in the vicinity but the room is comfortable.
- Natasha (10/5): - I stayed at this hotel for 13 days. My first impression of the room was that it was very small even for 2 people (my cousin stayed with me for 5 days and we had to move around very carefully around each other and over our luggage). The complimentary breakfast wasn't that impressive; it only consisted of bread, 3 types of cereal, powdered soup (there was hot water available), coffee, juice, and condiments such as jam and butter. There were no eggs! It was a first for me. You had the option to bring your tray to your room which is cool if you want to enjoy your breakfast privately.
But what made me give this hotel an excellent review was its service. They're very friendly and they helped me out with a laundry issue. Long story short, someone left their clothes in the dryer and I really needed to use it (there's only one washer and dryer available by the way). I asked the front desk lady if I could move the clothes out and set it aside, and she comes out with a huge plastic bag and offers to help me! I was pretty moved, so moved that I'm writing this review as a thank you haha. Also, the room was always clean when I come back from exploring Tokyo. They even have this option where if you opt out of changing your sheets, you get a bottle of mineral water. Free water while saving the environment? Sounds pretty cool if you ask me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location, cozy rooms, professional staff. Miss Japan already!
- Yukio (10/5): - Nice hotel, good location and friendly staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): One of the best prices for Tokyo downtown - Very good location, room size ok, continental breakfast, nice staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff, good location, overall good experience. Only complaints were that the bed was not the most comfortable, and the breakfast wasn't that great, it was just potato salad, and a bunch of bread. Overall good experience though.
- sy (10/5): - Room was indeed very small as others said, but it is average size of business hotel. Every staff I met was very kind and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel staff were very kind and helpful - The best thing I liked about the stay was the hotel staff knew English and were really really helpful.
The room per say was excellent and very functional. I specially liked the minute details to which they foresaw needs like having a charger using which you could practically charge any type of phone. Overall the room was very cozy and comfortable. Their breakfast ( usually included with the stay) was also good. The room is small ( guess that is the average size in Tokyo )
I would recommend this place if you are looking to stay in Tokyo on a decent budget, in a good location, and not want to stay in a capsule place or use a public bath ( these are the reasons why I chose this place). Though a lil away from tourists places, it is still well connected. It is just two stops away from Tokyo station. From Tokyo station take the Tozai line ( Ōtemachi station) and get down at Kayabacho station- roughy 170 yen. It is a 3 min walk from exit 3 of kayabacho station
- Pedro (10/5): May stay was 100% satifactory... :) - The hotel was excellent, the service was extremely good, customer service at the lobby was great and so polite. I recommend this place 100%. Place is near of the two train stations that was great you can go anywhere you want. If I go again I will stay at that place. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Little bit too far from the Tokyo station, about 25 min walk (not 15 min as on their web site). Other than that everything was as expected, clean room, good service, simple breakfast.
- Peggy (10/5): Clean, tidy, and great location - Location is amazing and very central with a short walk to various subway lines. The room itself is small, but this would be considered standard Tokyo size and to be expected. However, the staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and tidy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Really nice place to stay - It was great, just be prepared for the small rooms - typical of Japanese hotels.
- Paul (8/5): Good hotel in reasonable location - Would stay again. Overall good, clean hotel. Room was spacious and nice. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom clean. Wifi great. Location is relatively close to a subway, convenience store down the street. Breakfast served every morning, which was western continental style but very good. Fresh bread and good coffee and potato salad.
When looking for the hotel, using a phone map will be most efficient. It is a bit tucked away and may be a bit of a challenge to find without a GPS, though not impossible.
Overall very good stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Short Stay - We spent two nights at the hotel. The service was good. The rooms were very small. The breakfast was simple but appreciated. It was hard to communicate with the staff as it seemed like no one spoke English. Check out time is 10am which did not make sense to me. There is no late checkout without paying a fee.
- Matthew (10/5): Would stay here again - Room is very small but adequate for a solo stay. Layout allows maximum usage of space. Desk service was extremely friendly. Included breakfast was basic, but a good way to start the day. Short walk to subway. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Room too small - Room was too small for two people.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good hotspring resort - Comfortable stay, nice onsens, pretty good dinner and breakfast buffet.
4.5 hrs away from Tokyo by coach.
If you do not book the coach from Tokyo, you can still call them one night before to get on the coach. They will charge it later
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice, quieter area in business section. Staff is very nice and helpful. Had everything we needed at a good price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Though 10mins away from Metro, the room and staff is good, especially within the price range in Tokyo
- reviewer #8 (2/5): Horrible hotel staff. - 1. Ants crawling all over the breakfast counter, not fun having breakfast with pests.
2. Housekeeping went into room when specifically told not to do so in writing.
3. Staff lacks communications skills and treats guests poorly when things don't go well.
4. Staff discriminates as they did not provide me with complimentary newspaper just because I am a foreigner (I speak Japanese).
6. Breakfast is complimentary but it is the same food everyday and very basic, no change of menu at all.
7. Hotel will not take responsibility for their wrongdoings.
8. Location of hotel is not favorable for tourists as there is nothing around the hotel and is mainly in a business district of Tokyo.
9. Had to make a fuss to get my money back when I told them I did not want to stay for one pre-paid night for housekeeping entering my room and the hotel staff did not provide me with a good reason why they couldn't refund me my money after the hotel did some violations. They eventually refunded me the money for the last night of a 3 night stay I had requested. If you want to stay at a hotel with plenty of hassles, this is the place to be at.
10. There is only one washer located in the hotel lobby. If you want to do your laundry while people eat breakfast, or are at the lobby, this is the hotel for you.
11. No one speaks English at this hotel, considering Japanese study English since elementary school, very disappointing.
12. This hotel you have to turn in your key to front desk when you go out everytime
- Fong Keow (8/5): - A more quiet neighbourhood. It is near a metro. And 1 hr ride bus station to the narita airport. Quite convenient. The hotel staff is helpful and polite too. Just having a little difficulty in communicating with them if you have more enquires.
- June (8/5): Hotel with Excellent location.
- The hotel is ideally located between two metro stations (Kayabacho and Suitingumae) with just six minutes walk to each one. There is also another station about ten minutes walk away which is called Hamacho. In addition, the airport shuttle bus is just seven minutes walk from the hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal for both short-term and long-term stay. I like the very courteous and polite staff who are always willing to offer assistance and help. There are many restaurants nearby as well as convenience stores. The street where the hotel is located is very quiet and the room is reasonable in size compared with the other hotel chains. I would definitely stay in Hokke Inn again.
June
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic service - The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very convenient in the mornings and good value. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. Overall we had a comfortable stay and would stay again if we return to Tokyo.
- Paul (8/5): Nice hotel in a quiet part of Tokyo - My wife and I stayed a little over a week. At first the room seemed small, but we were only there to sleep so it didn't matter for us, but for larger folks this might be an issue. The room was clean. There was I think 5 free power outlets and one or two with a ground (needed for our laptop), but it was in the bathroom so we ran the charger across the room to the bed. The staff was very polite and friendly, but limited in English. I ordered baseball tickets and a pocket wifi which they received and handed to me upon arrival. Breakfast was free every morning from 6:30 - 9:30 am which consisted of various types of bread/pastry, cereal, potato salad (really good!), coffee, tea, juice and milk. 7-11 and a small place with bentos and pastries were down the street also for the goods. Metro stations were about a 10 minute walk. There wasn't much to do in the area and not a huge variety of places to eat at, but this was a nice hotel away from the hustle and bustle.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A few minutes walk from the underground - Not in central location but close to the metro. Rooms are small but include everything you need and are very clean.
- Benjamin (8/5): Nice hotel, rooms a tad small for longer stays - Hotel was nice, room was really too small for a stay with luggage, as there was nowhere to put your bags.
Hotel staff really nice, lots of eateries close by and Tokyo Station was only a 10 minute walk away. Quite a quiet location too.
More of a one night stay on business I'd say, but still pleasant for the price :-)
- Ruohan (10/5): Just a nice small room. - Hotel staff are very friendly. Room is a bit small but that is really just normal size in Japan. Overall I think it was a very nice experience.
- CHUN WAI (10/5): A great pleasure to stay - The room is tidy and clean. The size is small but within my expectation. You can get everything you need for staying. Location is great if you take Metro and airport bus instead if JR. The staffs are professional and polite. A great pleasure to stay.
- Alan (8/5): Nice Hotel, well located - The hotel is well loated, nice and clean but I think the room is too small to accomodate two persons.
- Karen (6/5): Small but clean. - Not a bad place to stay for the first or last night in Tokyo. Rooms are small for two people, but great if you are traveling alone.
- Kari (10/5): - Awesome customer service. Just need to get used to smaller room sizes in Japan. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting tokyo. Very close to JR lines, stores, restaurants, etc.
- michael (8/5): - We stayed there just one night and it was a good value . The room was very small , but very clean and taken care off . There was free breakfast , but it was very limited .
