I didn’t like that everyday the staff were trying to upsell me on something. A lot of the hotel needs a bit of renovation. The entertainment was pretty poor.

• idontwantone17 (8/5): Needs a few improvements - We had 2 wks here for honeymoon (our original one for Mauritius was cancelled), we booked very late and chose this hotel as it was advertised as being quiet, adult only, no foam party's, no themed nights, romantic and apparently 5 star. We found the service to be very inconsistent The food at breakfast & lunch (buffet) was very repetitive, lukewarm/cold, and we struggled to find any cutlery? they want you to have dessert, fruit, yogurt etc but don't provide any spare cutlery! Also a few times we left the table to get another course and when we returned our plates, wine glass, cutlery, napkins had all been cleared away? don't the servers keep an eye on their tables? the market cafe manager spent all his time looking down at his phone. we got so bored after 2 wks we ordered room service (very good well recommended) The restaurants for dinner are ok, Dragons was our favourite, we ate around 9pm and never struggled to get a table Our biggest peeve were the watered down drinks, in the whole 2 weeks we drank beer, cocktails, wine, spirits, tried everything basically and not once did we feel the effect. I tried asking for drinks with no ice and it made no difference whatsoever, so be aware! Not what i would expect from a hotel of this standard We downloaded the mobile phone app to check on the daily activities, however this didn't match with the in room tablet, so you never knew what was happening, or in our case what to avoid lol The rooms are spacious, we had floor 19, the views were amazing. Nice, modern, clean, we had couple of maintenance issues but there were rectified within 20mins. Found it odd the room had an ice bucket, but couldn't find any ice machines? we also asked for a kettle from concierge, again delivered within 20mins. Overall we had a nice time, the weather was great, be prepared to reserve your sunbed early ,as by 1100 you have no chance of getting one, there isn't anywhere near enough for the hotel capacity. The servers constantly come round to ask if you're ok and need a drink which was appreciated, even if they had low alcohol content lol

From the beach servers to the concierge, the service was excellent and always came with a smile.Beach & Pools: The beach is stunning with powdery white sand, and the pool areas are just as impressive. • Companion588010 (10/5): Highly recommend - My husband and I had a wonderful vacation at Secrets The Vine in Cancun. We had a warm welcome and greeted with a cold towel and champagne. Our stay as pleasant. We enjoyed the food in all the restaurants, staff friendly and attentive. The resort was clean. Great vibe around the resort. The entertainment group did a great job making the stay fun, you could participate or not. Our last night was special dining at The Sea Salt. This was outdoor dining, beside the pool, fantastic barbecue food, many wait staff to help in any way with a smile. Shout out to Estefoni, Angel, Victoria, Maris, Geiser, and Wilber. Thanks for a wonderful evening!

• wsik0ra (10/5): Amazing Stay with Amazing Rooms and service - We’ve been going to Cancun for the past 10 years and I have to say our first day has extremely exceeded expectations. We bought through Costco and ended up upgrading to preferred club. Boy was it worth it. We were upgraded to the 27th floor with amazing views and an amazing butler Bruce. All the staff are extremely nice and are making this trip amazing for us. A the room… At first I wasn’t sure what to expect but wow, high ceilings, best layout we’ve ever had, The bathroom is very large with double sinks and extra corner space for my wife’s make up, and the rooms in general are very large. Prior to this vacation, Live Aqua was our favorite but after this one I think this hotel will take the spot. Looking forward to remainder of our stay. We highly HIGHLY recommend this hotel. A++

The staff were incredibly polite, professional, and welcoming .there name is Victor and Esteban’s and some other which I don’t remember. The atmosphere was wonderful, and every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. My spouse is extremely picky and very hard to impress when it comes to food, but surprisingly loved every single dish and kept complimenting the flavors all night. That alone says a lot about the quality of this restaurant. Highly recommended.

Concierge did a wonderful job of keeping us informed about daily activities and other amenities throughout the resort. Cons: Every single interaction with staff involved some level of upselling. Be prepared to haggle and enforce boundaries. You will have a subpar experience if you forgo the preferred package (access to very cheap liquor)

The atmosphere of the hotel was lively at times BUT this never impacted sleep. The staff could not do enough for you and made you feel like a celebrity! They had themed nights in the hotel and the Mexico night was one of our faves! Because the purpose of the holiday was for mine and my husband's 1 year wedding anniversary, we were offered a complimentary anniversary breakfast which we had on our balcony which was a lovely touch. Overall, very likely to stay again and would recommend to anyone.

• 504yaraw (6/5): HARASSED by sales staff - Nice Property, But Harassed by Sales Staff The resort itself is nice, but the VIP sales staff completely ruined the experience. We were pulled into a “special offer” for a couples spa that was clearly tied to a timeshare presentation disguised as a “lunch.” Once we realized what it actually was, we declined and agreed to just pay the $250 spa price. That should have been the end of it. It wasn’t. We were repeatedly stopped around the hotel—elevators, lobby, walkways—by staff pushing the same pitch. It felt less like hospitality and more like being targeted. One staff member even implied the agreed price could go up because we refused to attend the presentation, which felt manipulative and completely inappropriate. By the end of the stay, simply walking through the property felt stressful because we expected to be approached again. That’s not what a vacation should feel like. Pool seating is also poorly managed—chairs are “reserved” and left empty for hours with no enforcement. Bottom line: Nice resort, but the aggressive, pushy sales culture makes it hard to relax. I would not stay here again.

Beach view from our balcony (16th floor) and from poolside was awesome. The staff are all welcoming, friendly and make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. My wife and I stayed there for a week for our honeymoon and their services was exceptional. Special thank you to our bartenders De Dios and Jonathan along with one of our servers Edgar Abigail for going above and beyond to make my wife and I feel and share the special moments at Secrets.
• L749QRtomm (8/5): Pros and Cons - The Secrets Vine is a very nice all inclusive hotel. It’s in a good location, & although the music next door was loud, it stopped around 10-11 pm. The housekeeping staff is excellent! The room service is excellent! The spa is excellent! However, the buffet downstairs was lukewarm warm & not good at all except for a few items which were just ok. The best lunch we had were the hamburgers, and the best dinner was at the Asian restaurant. It was above average, and the waiters there very helpful. It was my first all inclusive resort stay, however, and I decided it’s not for me. I love going out to different restaurants, so therefore, I missed doing that. We paid extra for the “preferred” service, but I didn’t find the butler experience worthwhile. The upgraded room was delightful, however, and quite large.

• F5788OKerikac (8/5): Great Staff! - I went to Secrets the Vine Cancun for a five day trip with my husband to celebrate my 40th Birthday. It was a very nice trip for the price. While I felt the resort fell a little short with their pool vibes and the music catered to an older crowd, this resort really shined with it's staff. I wanted to take a moment to share some of the service highlights I had while on my trip. Rosa was our server every morning at Olio. She was super sweet and attentive. Honestly, our experience at breakfast at Olio was what made booking preferred actually worth it. Thanks Rosa! Ricardo, the property's sommelier, gave really great wine tastings in the lobby. He seems to have a gift for teaching- he delivered a lot of information about wine in a funny, approachable way. Thanks Ricardo! Ixchel at the coffee bar served a great latte and was fun to chat with. If anything makes you feel at home, it's a good cup of coffee. Thanks Ixchel! Alejandro finally booked us a table for the Mexican night. We were having a bit of hard time understanding how to do that and he helped us out. I'm really glad we booked that table- Mexican night will be a really great memory for my 40th birthday and I really appreciate feeling a little special that night. Thanks Alejandro! Also, special shout-out to other servers we had: Gustavo who served me that terrific ribeye at the Bluewater Grill, Pedro who served us a second full round of the delicious sushi at Dragons without judgement, and a gentleman at Sea Salt Grill who made sure I was getting enough strawberry margaritas on my birthday (I'm so sorry to have forgotten your name). Thanks Gustavo, Pedro, and Gentleman. Thank you all so much for making my birthday so special!

We are vegan and we were so so happy with the vegan food. We especially loved our dinner at the market cafe where the manager Jorge went out of his way to make sure we had a gourmet meal. Everything was really fantastic. Very chill vibes but also fun and friendly. We met some really nice couples and had an overall wonderful time. The room was beautiful and clean. • JayAl03 (8/5): Battle of the sun loungers! 5am Wake-up! - Overall, the resort is nice and the staff are accommodating, but there are a few drawbacks worth noting. 1. The food at the restaurants are average at best. We preferred the dining experience at the Hilton All-Inclusive, which offers high quality and variety. 2. The dress code! My partner, who lives in Cancun, only brought shorts and was not allowed into several restaurants because he didn’t have long pants. This felt unnecessary, especially since the restaurants themselves are not particularly formal or upscale. 3. 5am wake up! Another major downside was the sun loungers. By 7am, most were already taken, with very limited availability for front-row, sea-view spots. Guests said they were going down as early as 5am to secure chairs, which is honestly wild for a resort at this price point. I also heard the manager say they had guests who went down at 3am! We ended up waking up at 6am every day just to find a place to sit. Overall, while the hotel itself is nice, it doesn’t quite justify the high price given these inconveniences.
• jennij483 (10/5): 2nd time and it was even better! - It was our 2nd time at Secret's the Vine and it was just as good (if not better!) than the first visit! We were in a preferred junior suite ocean view on the 24th floor and the room was very clean and super spacious! The bed was old and could use a replacement, but for the age of the property I assume that is expected. The concierge on the 24th floor was Oscar and he was amazing! He was literally around every corner we turned and greeted us by name every time he saw us. He made special accomodations and offered assistance in person and via What's App. We loved our morning breakfasts with Abigail and Edgar! They were both so sweet and attentive. There was not a time that they overlooked any detail about our drinks or preferred food items. They were so sweet! Ibeth at the preferred pool was our favorite ever! So funny, so attentive and so kind! We love the staff and you will too! We are tippers and believe everyone deserves good tips! Please tip these staff members--including housekeeping, mini bar, waiters, waitresses, bartenders, and pool staff. We will be back!

• Travelingmystic (2/5): Deceptive front desk, poor management- vegetarians should stay away!! - I booked their much hyped Master Suite using TripAdvisor. At the time of booking I was led to believe this room has all the preferred privileges. However, when I was checking, the front desk staff asked me for additional $300 for preferred services. They were completely deaf and unaccomodating to my story that I booked with those privileges. The whole team kept upselling services for outrageous prices. I wanted spa treatment for my wife, which the front desk said they could only give me discounted price at the time of check in. Needless to say that the price was obscene (even for resort standards). Later on, I found cheaper price on their own app. Restaurants are also mediocre and significantly below standard if you are vegetarian/ vegan. Only Dragon is a place that will provide decent vegan options. Italian place is a joke!! We did not try the Mediterranean place after reading their horrible reviews. I appreciated the elaborate breakfast and lunch buffet. Staff at buffet was courteous and accommodating. The seating at pools go fast. People put towels and never show up. Management of seating is pathetic. For my five days at the resort, I couldn’t get seating a single day at the pool. Luckily, there was seating at the beach, which saved our vacation. This is definitely not the spot for me. I am so happy to be leaving today. Worst vacation!!! But, I generally love Cancun, so not giving up on the beautiful place.

• filipi422 (10/5): Amazing Vacation - I could honestly write a book about this place but ill try to keep it as short as I can for the sake of the people reading it. There are so many good things to say about this resort, its hard to choose where to start. This was my first time in Mexico after only going to Cuba or the Dominican and its set the bar extremely high for future vacations. It will honestly be hard to choose another resort when its time for my next vacation. Here is a breakdown about this place and my thoughts on it: General Overview: This is a high-end, laid-back, ultra-luxury resort perfect for couples or friend groups that want to take it easy and eat and drink like kings. Resort: It has a very high-end feel and look about it. You can see that they put a lot of thought into the design of the place when you go around the property. It really does make you feel like it was money well spent while you are there. Food: By far the best food I've had on vacation. From the breakfast buffet, to the restaurants and the room service; everything is excellent. My personal favorite was the steakhouse but the Italian and Mediterranean restaurants were great too. We ended up going to the steakhouse 4 nights out of my 7 night stay because we liked it so much. The pasta was great and the shawarma was amazing. The sea salt grill was also great but we only went there mid-day when we were hungry from being on the beach all day so im not sure how it is for dinner but I'd be willing to bet its great. Drinks: The resort offers tons of premium options as far as liquor goes and there's none of that watered down garbage you'll find at other places. The bartenders are always helpful when suggesting drink options and they can make just about anything you want so you'll never be bored. Im usually a beer drinker but I just stuck with mojitos and canteritas this trip because they were more refreshing. I noticed modelo and dos equis being the main beers that I saw for beer drinkers but there is probably others as well. Coffee Bar: I had to make the coffee part separate because it was genuinely some of the best coffee ive ever had. Whether you like yours hot or iced, the staff that work at the coffee bar make amazing coffee snd their service is fantastic. Special shoutout to Enid and Ixchel for not only being fantastic at their jobs and making great coffees but for just being nice people to interact with every day. Service: Genuinely the best service I've had anywhere. The staff go above and beyond to really make your stay that much more enjoyable and their efforts go a long way. Throughout the entire stay, my girlfriend and I were constantly commenting on how good the service was. Whether its a concierge, server, bartender, maid, entertainment staff or really just about anyone; the service was always excellent and it truly did make a huge difference for us and made us love this trip that much more. One other thing, its crazy how clean it is everywhere. The staff do a great job of cleaning up after messy guests and even areas where you would expect a little dust or something, are spotless. Rooms: We absolutely loved our room. We had the King deluxe and had a great view of the resort and the ocean. We were in room 1829 and loved it from the second we walked in. The layout is luxurious, spacious and very comfortable. I could live there year round honestly. Another thing that truly made a difference was the maid. Ana Karen did an unbelievable job of cleaning our room every day. She went above and beyond making sure the place was spotless and we always had enough towels, water, soap and whatever else we needed. It made a massive difference and I really hope she gets paid what she deserves because she was amazing. Beach: The beach is beautiful. Soft white sand and the water was very clear. There was no rocks or anything to worry about when entering/exiting the water or swimming. The sargassum was up and down but thats not the resorts fault, mother nature is and will always be undefeated. The resort had tractors come by and pick up the sargassum that would wash up on shore. As far as swimming goes, it was never bad enough for me to not swim and some days were very clear. The beach servers do a great job of attending to the guests and Carlos works his ass off to cater to the people lounging on the beach. Again, I really hope the staff here get paid well because they deserve it. Location: The resort's on the main strip so there's lots to do and see if you want to go off resort. We never did but if you're into that there is lots of bars, restaurants and clubs nearby. Its also very close to the airport so the ride to and from is short which was very nice. It felt like a 20 minute ride to and from which was a really nice change from what im used to. If you're looking for a big party vibe I wouldnt go here but it was perfect for the kind of vacation we were looking for. I'm very picky when it comes to just about everything and I honestly had zero complaints about this trip. The only thing I could think of was I wish I could have stayed longer. I genuinely cant wait to come back. Special shoutouts: -Our maid Ana Karen did an amazing job and was such a nice lady. It made a huge difference for us every day. -Samara at the breakfast buffet that was making the eggs for everyone made great eggs and was always in a happy, positive mood. 10/10 service. -Big shoutout to Gustavo, Manuel, Pablo, Jose(the best) and Jerri at the steakhouse. 10/10 service combined with 10/10 food made our dinners that much more enjoyable. I gotta give special recognition to Jose for being so personable and making our dinners so much better than they already were. His drink recommendations were great and he was just a great guy to talk to and interact with. -The pool bar bartenders Ricardo, Salvador, Christopher and Alberto were great. Really gotta highlight Ricardo and Salvador because i dealt with them the most and they not only made amazing drinks but were great to interact with and talk to. -Enid and Ixchel at the Coffee Bar not only made amazing coffee but were such positive, kind people and it was a pleasure talking to them every day. -The beach servers Gabriel and Daniel were fantastic every day and were always great with speedy service and drink recommendations. They made our time on the beach that much more enjoyable. -Carlos that works on the beach setting up umbrellas and general guest needs works his ass off and really deserves some recognition. Working in that sun all day, moving around chairs and heavy umbrellas isnt easy and he was always in a good mood doing it. -At the Olio restaurant, Jorge went above and beyond to give us great service and drink recommendations while we were there. He even went out of his way to bring my girlfriend and I mescalitas when we finished dinner at the steakhouse. I cant say enough good things about the guy, not only as a worker but as a person as well. You can tell when someone is genuine and he definitely is. We loved the saying it’s my pleasure’ whenever you’d thank the staff. A great get away for warmth and sun with pleasures at your fingertips from pool and ocean side bar drinks to cappuccino s and treats at the cafe. A special shout out to Gabriel our wait staff at the market cafe for breakfast one morning who was friendly and hard working. All the staff at this resort go above and beyond to make your stay pleasurable. The adult only atmosphere is wonderful and great entertainment in the evenings. Aquafit in the pool was fun and the workout room well equipped with treadmills overlooking the ocean. Thanks for a wonderful vacation after a long Canadian winter.
• Philliejake (8/5): Great Resort if not for the Chair Game - Stuck between a 3 or 4 star rating because of the difficulty getting chairs in particular on the beach. We very much enjoyed this resort and especially the staff, food was very good, bars were fantastic and as I mentioned before the staff was terrific. Easy access to and from the Cancun Airport makes this a great long weekend resort. Chair situation is a real issue, during our stay we were unable to sit on the beach (we did keep coming back to try and get chairs but to no avail). The pools were better and the staff did help when asked. If not for the lounger issues this is a strong 5 star. Hopefully they can improve the policing of people putting towels down in multiple locations at 6:30 am.

A kávét is imádtunk, jó minőségű, európai típusú kávét kínáltak. nem volt bufévacsorára lehetőség, csak éttermekbe lehetett menni, ahol hosszú sorok várakoztak sokszor, így egy-egy népszerű étterembe napokat kellett várnunk, hogy bejussunk. Jó lett volna, ha van büfévacsorára is lehetőség, hogy magunk válogathassuk ki, mit és mennyit szeretnénk enni, illetve sokkal gyorsabb is lehetne így az esti étkezés. A vendégek már reggel 6 órától elkezdik lefoglalni a napágyakat, így ha nem érsz oda reggel 7.30 előtt ágyat foglalni, akkor nincs ágyad egész nap.

All the food is amazing, the breakfast buffet at Market Cafe has a made to order omelet station and the lunch buffet has so many options, fresh orange juice and to many desserts. Sea Salt had some Octopus Tostadas that were an absolute treat and we went back because of them. The staff is super helpful and very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we felt taken care of. Thanks to Michelle at Sea Salt and Esmeralda at Market Cafe and the rest of the staff who helped make our stay awesome.

They are obviously trained to be extremely service-oriented, and ensure their guests have everything they need for an enjoyable stay. There are so many whose names we did not get, but I want to do a huge shout out to Hector, the Concierge on the 26th floor. He was amazing! In addition, Benjamin (Benji) the pool Concierge on the 12th floor. Both of these gentlemen went out of their way each day to ensure we had everything we needed and that we were well taken care of. They went above and beyond. Humberto and Juan were excellent waiters in the preferred pool area. Ivan, also I Concierge on the 26th floor, was excellent. Our housekeeper, Yolanda, kept our room, clean and tidy, and was very kind and pleasant. In the Market Cafe, a shout out to Enrique and Walberto. Luiz in the Lobby Bar did a great job. Eduardo in the Italian restaurant went out of his way to accommodate our dining preferences. An extra shout out to Hector, our Concierge on the 26th floor. Our luggage was left on the tarmac at the airport in Cancun for a very long time and got soaking wet in the rain. Our luggage and clothes in the suitcase were all wet. Upon arrival to the hotel, and after check-in, we explained our plight to Hector. He immediately collaborated with a staff member from the laundry. I wish I had his name, but I don’t. He was so willing to accommodate our needs and take care of our wet clothes. Between he and Hector, they saw to it that the contents of four pieces of luggage were dried, laundered, ironed and returned in a timely manner and in impeccable fashion. We couldn’t believe it. They also provided us this service complimentary. Again, amazing. While our trip started off with that challenge, we were so impressed with how they managed it, and it continued to set the tone for the rest of our stay. Above average service. This resort is just beautiful. The rooms (Preferred) gorgeous and well appointed. Lastly, the entertainment is top-notch. Starting with the lobby bar, the lobby, and onto the shows. Entertainment during the day is great, too. Would definitely recommend this location for a beautiful, relaxing, vacation.

The place is beautiful, super clean, and the views are just insane, especially from the rooms and pools. The staff is still really good too, everyone was kind and helpful the whole time. Lowkey tho, I gotta say… I miss Sexy Carlitos 😂 he used to work there years ago and brought such a fun vibe. Y’all should bring him back fr, just saying haha. But even without him, the energy is still good and the people there take care of you. Food and drinks were solid, and everything just felt easy and relaxing. Overall, really good experience, I’d definitely come back.

It had great ambience, vibes, was very clean and felt very safe! it was such a quick ride from the hotel, the food was great, the service was exceptional, and the staff were some of the kindest, most friendly people. We had a wonderful time also loved that it was adult only and felt totally void of a college spring break feel even though we were there during that time. The ocean was beautiful and the pools were great. They create a great atmosphere and make you feel like their life purpose is to make you have a great time! It’s a high-rise hotel that is more vertically facing the ocean, so the room views are not directly oceanfront and the balconies visible to each other, though you can definitely see the ocean and the lagoon, but also the pools from most of the rooms. This was not a huge deal, but just something to be aware of only beds were very comfortable in the rooms were great and very spacious!

• Maryam (9/5): All-inclusive hotel with amazing service and good food options. Great for a low-stress trip! - Big all-inclusive hotel on the southern/vertical aspect of the Hotel Zone. Large comfortable room with expected amenities. Every single staff member we interacted with was wonderful: kind, helpful and supportive of us practicing our Spanish with them! Beach with chairs for guests and some umbrellas. Although people tend to towel mark chairs at the beach and pool we claimed some that seem abandoned, confirmed with neighbors and never had issues. Beach is beautiful and just out the door. Three large pools. Overall food experience was very good! Ample breakfast buffet, various casual take-away and sit-down lunch options and 6 restaurants for dinner. We only tried three but enjoyed all of them. Don't be surprised if there is a bit a wait (30-60 min) for dinner even for a table for 2, small inconvenience for good food and good service. The hotel is on the side of the hotel zone with bigger waves so expect more fun in the surf conditions rather than ocean swimming or lounging.

Nuestra experiencia en Secrets The Vine Cancun fue muy decepcionante, especialmente considerando que estábamos celebrando nuestro aniversario #10 y que la tarifa del hotel es alta. Llegamos alrededor de las 5 pm después de un tour, cansados y con hambre, y desde el primer momento nos informaron que para casi todo había que hacer fila o esperar lista en los restaurantes. Terminamos esperando cerca de 2 horas para cenar, y la comida además tardó mucho en salir. De hecho, me levanté antes de que llegara el plato fuerte porque la espera ya era excesiva. Al día siguiente, bajamos temprano (antes de las 8 am) al buffet y, a pesar de haber muchas mesas vacías, nuevamente nos hicieron esperar. No entendimos la lógica, ya que en la mayoría de hoteles solo te solicitan el número de habitación y te ubican de inmediato. En la noche mexicana la situación se repitió: filas largas incluso para estaciones sencillas como los esquites. Observando de cerca, se nota claramente falta de personal y de planificación para la cantidad de huéspedes. Por ejemplo, el encargado de los esquites estaba solo y debía retirarse a buscar suministros, lo que hacía que la fila avanzara muy lentamente. Lo mismo ocurría en la zona de asados. La comida en general es buena, pero el problema operativo arruina completamente la experiencia cuando uno paga un hotel de este nivel para descansar, no para hacer filas constantes. Para cerrar, al momento de irnos pedimos Uber (por decisión propia) y el personal de la entrada puso inconvenientes para dejarlo ingresar. Mientras mi esposo intentaba resolver la situación, me tocó a mí bajar sola con las dos maletas, y ningún miembro del staff se ofreció a ayudar, a pesar de que había botones cerca. En resumen, no nos sentimos bien atendidos en ningún momento. Es un hotel bonito, pero la experiencia de servicio y logística no está a la altura del precio que cobran. No lo recomendaría para quienes se valoran
• caps721 (4/5): Don’t stay here if you want to relax - This resort is terrible. Biggest issues were the horrible food and not enough beach or pool chairs available. The chairs at the beach will break your back, they were so uncomfortable, i couldn’t lay on my stomach. Guests literally get up at 5:30am to reserve their chairs at the beach or pool. You’ll see towels on a chair with one book on it, no personal items. One day I even saw a towel with a cigar cutter on it. These pathetic chair saving people don’t show up until mid afternoon. The staff does nothing about it either. The woman at the front desk told me i have to get up early if i want a chair. So forget about sleeping in on your vacation. If you haven’t saved yourself a spot but 7:30 am forget it. On to the restaurants and food. You will be waiting over an hour to be seated for dinner at every restaurant all week long. Doesn’t matter if you like eating at 6pm or 9pm, you will be waiting. You have to download the resort app and when your table is ready you get a message. The lines to even put your name in for a table can take 15 minutes alone. The wait for the breakfast buffet is easily 30 minutes. Never seen anything like it at any other secrets or other resorts I’ve been to. The only way to bypass a wait for dinner is to buy bottles or wine for over $100 with your meal. Then you can get a reservation and table ready. Reduced ourselves a few times just to get an 8pm reservation. You’ll be approached by a staff member at the pool or beach during the day to get ripped off. The food at the breakfast and lunch buffet is the same garbage everyday with no variety. The lunch restaurant by the pool takes almost two hours from start to finish. The grill by the pool is the worst. Peasant food. They serve the same burgers, hot dogs, wedge fries and nacho slop everyday. Only twice did they throw in chicken wings, but i guess they ran out? No variety and no healthy options. Needless to say my husband and i got fed up and went out to eat a few times. Harry’s steakhouse and Mochimos (la isla) was worth the extra expense. It’s not a relaxing vacation when you can’t get a chair or have to wait forever at every restaurant.

Their rooms are spacious, very clean and the view from our balcony was spectacular! If you're looking to relax, the spa is where you want to be. We took advantage of their couples massage special and was not disappointed. Everywhere we turned there was someone eagar to help even before we asked. We had 2 butler's on our floor. Oscar and Chavial. These young men were so incredibly polite and extremely helpful and were available to assist with anything we needed. The food at the buffets were delicious , especially the breakfast buffet. The restaurants were first come first serve and were worth the wait. As long as you were there when they opened you were sitting down right away. The pool time was just a little chaotic as times. Just due to everyone saving chairs. Once we learned that you had to get down there at the crack of dawn to save your spot it was all good. We are already talking about returning next year. We are going to really miss this place. We had the most enjoyable time.

Lighting systems in rooms were a challenge; poor unreliable system. We were not allowed to use umbrellas for shade at the beach or the pool if there was even a hint of wind — this was ridiculous. Shade needed when its 28°C and no clouds in the sky. Overall we were very pleased, though we also paid top dollar.

• Mimlaf (8/5): Chairs issue needs to be addressed - Will write a more detailed review in a few days but overall beautiful and wonderful resort with great service that could immensely improve the guest experience if they put up a system for chairs. People “reserve” chairs at the pool and the beach with their hat/sunscreen at 8 am and then leave for hours. 95% of the chairs are unavailable all day because random items are left on them for when they decide to come back. Staff members should be able to clear up when unattended for 30 or 1 hour. Some people have no manners so a system should be put in place to avoid this.

We are glad that we chose the to do preferred so that we could use the rooftop pool. Our room and all of the resort was beautiful and clean for our entire trip. Our concierge, Mauricio, was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. We enjoyed all of the restaurants we dined at. Olio for lunch was delicious and we enjoyed Dragons, Nebbiolo and Bluewater for our dinners. We both agree that we would happily return to Secrets The Vine in the future!
• Sightseer68605094178 (8/5): Almost excellent - After a year of a lot of stress, my husband and I chose Secrets The Vine for a weekend getaway. It was almost all we had hoped for. The facility is beautiful! The beach was clean and free of seaweed. Our room, all bathrooms, and restaurants were very cleaned. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. No one harassed us about time-shares. We were asked and said no and that was that. The staff was very attentive! I stayed somewhere else once and couldn't get a drink at the pool. This was the complete opposite. Someone is asking if you'd like a drink or picking up your finished drink every 10-15 minutes. With that said, I want to let everyone know that the resort sits on a very narrow piece of land. I think the architects and engineers did a fine job with it. But because of that, there was not as much room for lounge chairs. It would've been fine if people were considerate and not reserve lounge chairs before 8 AM only to not use them for most of the day. Seriously, our first day there, we got the pool by 10 AM and all the chairs were taken. There were 2 chairs each with a bottle of sunscreen on them that no one used most of that day! We left at 3 so I don't know if anyone ever did come use them after that. But you see a lot of that throughout the pool and beach area even though it is against resort policies to "reserve" lounge chairs. But it's not like the staff can remove people's stuff without them throwing a fit. But as another guest, I'm sure one can. Another problem we did not enjoy due to the small size of the property is the amount of noise! There was so much noise from the entertainment and no where to get away from it. We were even able to hear it from our room. And if it's not from the resort, it's from the Hard Rock resort next door. And if it's not music or whatever until well after 11 PM at night, it's the sirens. That was really annoying. So if these things don't bother you, then you'll really enjoy the food here. With the exception of Olio, we ate at all the other restaurants. Don't waste your time at the Asian restaurant. The food was not pretty blend and not very good. The rest were excellent! I'm a huge foodie and the other restaurants definitely met my standards. The Market Cafe serves a breakfast and lunch buffet. Both were excellent with very good options for vegetarians. I LOVED their ceviches! All the varieties were delicious. At night, this restaurant turns into a Peruvian restaurant. The food served was also fantastic! When in Mexico, eat Mexican food. You won't be disappointed. Though their pastries were also on par. Both the steakhouse and Italian restaurants were also wonderful! We also had a couples' massage at the spa. They do not have showers there but they do allow you to use the hydrotherapy options before your massage. And I loved that there was someone dedicated to tell you where to go and what to do in what order. Overall, 8/10 experience.

What amazing food, the accommodations, and the hospitality. Michele Harumi, Cesar and a gentleman who ran the Italian restaurant were so kind and awesome Cesar, our waiter at the Italian restaurant was so funny and he was one hell of a hard worker. We are sorry we can’t remember all their names. Speaking of the Italian restaurant that was our favorite we ate there 3 times. We had such an amazing time. We are looking forward to coming back next year for a longer stay. I’ve gone in many of trips with this one tops them all. My wife and I can’t stop thinking about the place. Hard to believe water can be that color blue. We've been to Florida, Hawaii, and Washington - we would choose this over all of them. The Secrets The Vine is our "new Secret"!

• F8492QDkristent (10/5): Perfect Cancun Getaway – Fun, Food & Relaxation - We had a wonderful experience at Secrets The Vine Cancun and would absolutely recommend booking through Costco Travel. The resort is beautiful, modern, and very well maintained. The ocean views are stunning, and there are plenty of comfortable places to relax whether at the pools or on the beach. The food was excellent with a great variety of restaurants to choose from. The quality and presentation were impressive for an all-inclusive resort. The entertainment staff truly stood out — they were friendly, energetic, and made activities so much fun without ever being pushy. There were plenty of daytime activities and evening shows to keep things lively, but also plenty of space to unwind if you prefer a quieter vibe. Overall, this was a fantastic getaway with great service, delicious food, fun activities, and a beautiful resort setting. We would definitely return!
• ctinamurphy (8/5): Butler service is nonexistent and several hiccups daily... I'd give 3.5 stars if I could - Something happened every day to keep it from being a great experience. Some bigger deals than others…quick summary of good, bad and ugly: Good: Room was nice, preferred pool was heated (needed!) food was good, and pool servers were great Bad: Ocean view was nothing like the picture, lunch service at restaurants was bad Ugly: security, wine knowledge, constant badgering about buying wine for reservations, given misinformation, butler service is virtually nonexistent, just a text with the day’s activities, usually late morning, which is unhelpful for planning. Here’s some more details on the things that happened each day: Day 1: We got in early and our room wasn’t ready yet – they gave us a key and said when it is, this will be our key - so we had some drinks and hung out with friends by the pool. Their room was ready first, and they asked about ours. Their butler called and was like your room is ready too, it’s XXXX, your butler will meet you there. We go to the room – no butler was there – but we go inside. We’re walking around and see a backpack and headphone case, and they aren’t ours. We look around more and see a toiletry bag and then luggage – also not ours. We are clearly in someone else’s room. So we go to the concierge and tell them and they were pretty nonchalant about it. “Sorry, but this is your room instead.” Ok, while it wasn’t a HUGE inconvenience, why did that key even work?? Did people just walk into OUR room too at some point? Day 2: Weather was kinda meh and so we decided to go to the French themed wine tasting in the afternoon as we are wine enthusiasts and both have small cellars. Luis was our guide. He made a big-to-do about the tasting, but actually gave us incorrect information on the wine!!!! The 2018 Pezat Bordeaux, which we went on and on about as being a “left bank Bordeaux, which is Cabernet Sauvignon-based…” was rust colored and very raisin-y. I looked it up only to find it was from St. Emilion (which is right bank) and is 90% merlot and 10% cab franc. Also, it was priced at $185 USD, but sells for $17-25 online, so a TREMENDOUS markup! Plus if that wine is any indication, nothing is being stored correctly. Needless to say, we never purchased any wine – the house wine was fine, even for us wine snobs ;) Day 3: MORE consistent pestering by the guys walking around asking where we are having dinner tonight – a ploy to get you to buy a bottle of wine for a “reservation”. We were told that there were 300 people for an event and they were all going to the steakhouse, so it was VERY unlikely that we’d be able to get in without one. As such, we were worried about it and modified our evening plans to get to dinner early and be prepared to wait or pivot to a new restaurant. I walk in at 5 to put our name on the waiting list and the hostess has no idea what I’m talking about and just keep repeating it’s first come first serve. We come back in about an hour and the wait is so little we barely have time to go grab a drink upstairs. Totally unnecessary stress caused by someone trying to hard sell us wine for reservations. However, dinner was good and our server was great!! Day 4: We went down to regular area for lunch – while the preferred pool is nice, we wanted a little beach time and wanted to see what else there was to do. We went to the Sea Salt Grill and the service was bad – the servers just stood around and I had to flag them down to get anything. Food was okay. The two pools had different music playing so it was super distracting at lunch. At dinner we went back to Nebbiolo, where we went on day 2. Service was not great this time - I just ordered an app and told the server I was going to sample everyone’s food – he seemed bothered or mad that I didn’t order a full meal. He never brought me a plate and I had to use my bread plate/bowl (the one with olive oil in it) as my plate. To make it worse, he actually took the pizza plate that still had food on it. All in all, nothing horrible happened, but is it a 5-star luxury resort with impeccable service, where wine enthusiasts should flock to? Nope. If you take a look at the awards page you’ll see it’s been 5+ years since any award was won….and I’m not surprised. I was highly disappointed at the butler service (we usually go to Sandals) and my husband's bday was barely recognized (I had to ask for a little door sash, despite it being on the reservation details.
