Guest Reviews
- Marjorie (10/5): LOVING The Rising Dragon Villa Hotel - We LOOOVED Rising Dragon Villa Hotel. It was recommended by a friend that LOOOVED IT and now I will definitely recommend them to anyone visiting Hanoi. The service was excellent. The staff was very, very accommodating.
- Jenelle (10/5): - We stayed at the rising dragon for 4 nights and the staff were excellent. They gave us a room on a higher floor upon request to reduce noise and it was so quiet! They also gave lots of info for tours and how to get to Ha Long Bay. They allowed us to store our large bags there while we went on a 2 day trip to Ha Long Bay. The location is close to everything in old town and make walking feasible to the outdoor sites as well. Bed was comfortable with lots of pillows, AC was great, and shower was nice too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ok for a 3 star hotel - Hotel was satisfactory for price with good location. Breakfast was tasty
- Dave (10/5): Great Hotel - Great Hotel, good location for walking to local attractions and food. Quick and efficient check-in. Helpful and very friendly staff. Good breakfast that was included.
Clean room with ample space for three people.
Spent three nights in city with two nights at other hotel and only one here, should have stayed all nights here .
- c (8/5): Unlike pictures - Staff were awesome, good location, clean. A little run down but ok. Just that room DOES NOT look like pictures. Darker and different furnitures. Still okay just not as expected
- Gavin (10/5): Great find - Excellent location. Shower is very good! Toilet is very good. Beds are firm but comfortable. Reception staff are amazing!!!! Very very helpful. Nothing to complain about here. This hotel is great. Remember it's not 5 star so don't expect it to be.
- Nicola (8/5): Fantastic staff - Fantastic hotel staff. Couldn't do more for you, very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend the hotel for location, organised trips and just making you feel welcome.
- Xiangdong (8/5): friendly people - The neighbourhood is old town. You could watch the business of common people.
- Peter (10/5): Extremely great value - This is a first rate hotel with a very professional, caring staff. Highly recommended!
- david (8/5): Staff great - We had a nice stay here.....the first night we stayed wasnt so good...we had no hot water and the bed was hard and traffic noise bad....we went on a cruise and used rising dragon when we got back for 1 night....the room was on 4th floor and really much better...it was comfortable not so tired looking and we were very pleased. Staff were great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good clean hotel - There are many hotels that look exactly like this hotel in the old quarter. The staff at this one were very friendly and efficient in everything they did. We chose a room on the street side and had one on the 6th floor, so the street noise was not bad. The room was clean and very tidy and everything worked. The breakfast was good, with many options to choose from.
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent hotel for the price, excellent breakfast - Excellent hotel for the price. Really good buffet breakfast. The staff were really helpful. Nice bedding. I would definitely stay at the Rising Dragon if I came back to Hanoi.
- lap kwan (4/5): No hot water - Hot water stop suddenly while I was taking bath, though they arrange another room for me the other day, it was a real ordeal. My room is on the sixth floor.
- Desmond (10/5): Good hotel with superb customer services - From the day that we arrive at the hotel, the staffs made me feel at home. They were all very friendly and very helpful. The location is good and right at the heart of the old quarters and walking distance to the night market which is only from Friday to Sunday. The room is just the right size for a single occupant.
- Aryeh (10/5): very good service, nice breakfast - We booked woth them train tickets to sapa, it worked out great and was at a good price. we stayed another night and booked a day tour to ha long bay and it was very good! really great service! best service for the man with the glasses at the reception, very nice and very usefull.
only not as good thing, the second night they gave us a room on the first floor, there was some noise from the reception that made it hard to sleep.
- Janet (10/5): Great location. Great Staff - The hotel was right in the middle of the old quarter, it was fantastic being right in the middle of everything.
The hotel itself is nice but its the staff who go out of their way for you that makes it a good stay.
They were doing renovations one day and the smell of the paint was overwhelming…no problem we will move you to another hotel.
We were then going to Hoi Ann and we asked them if they could recommend a hotel. They did it was one of their other hotels and when we arrived we were upgraded to a fantastic room. Staff again were awesome. Breakfast was really good too!
- Alexandre (10/5): Lovely hotel for couple! - - Amazing employees, very nice and helpful!
- Clean room
- Good location
I really recommend this hotel, good value.
- Ryan (10/5): Staff are amazing - Staff were amazing. I took ill one day possibly because of the street food. The staff were so nice and looked after me. Made sure the maids didn't bother me and when I went to the pharmacy they made sure by the time I got back the room had been sorted
- Verified traveler (6/5): Review - Hotel is pretty small, breakfast no much selections.
- John (10/5): Hanoi Gem - Great location, staff and breakfast at very good price.
- Shimon (10/5): Clean and new refurbished rooms. Great staff. - Excellent worth for your money.
The hotel is very clean, almost new rooms and furniture. Good english speaking staff, very helpfull. Hotel has full travel agency services. Very good recommendations and prices.
Take the room with the 3 beds, at the front, at high floors. Gives 50% more space than the small 2 bed rooms, who have limited window. A few $ more, but gives added value.
- Peter (8/5): A little gem but not perfect location - Lived up to all expectations, only bad things was not prime location being on cramped small busy street and no windows views of significance.
- SIEW FOO (10/5): great hotel - service is great ,nice staff and nice breakfast
- Trevor (10/5): Great hotel - Stayed at this hotel 2 times this year , staff are fantastic and helpful . The breakfast is delicious and the overall value is great. Would recommend to anyone
- Verified traveler (8/5): - incredibly kind and helpful staff
- Eddy (8/5): - Very nice hotel with frindly staff.
Also was able to book some tours to halong bay
- a&a (10/5): booked 3 nights, stayed for 11 - Rising Dragon Villa staff go above and beyond! we booked 3 nights and ended up staying for 11 because it was just so easy to enjoy Hanoi from here ... beds are large and comfy, pillows are fantastic, buffet breakfast is tasty and includes a la carte options like pho bo or fried eggs ... friendly staff arranged 3D2N Halong Bay cruise for excellent rate, and allowed us to use their shower when we returned free of charge before we caught the overnight train to Sapa ... everything from mending clothes to borrowing umbrellas was hassle free and done with a smile ... enjoy wandering the old quarter to your hearts content and returning each night to the comfort of this little hotel
- Bbatusf (8/5): Stay here - Great location and helpful staff. Everyone here was so friendly and the rooms were in good condition. Perfect location and excellent breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice central hotel - Friendly staff with information for every question concerning vietnam. Nice location, clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice staff, cosy hotel close to town - Room is clean and bed is comfy but not in great condition. Nice short stay with helpful staff and close to the city.
- Jesse (8/5): Fantastic Service - Our stay at Rising Dragon Villa was short but we were left speechless but the level of service and attention to detail provided by the hotel staff. At a moments noticed the sent a staff member to arrange tickets for the water puppet show and organized a car service to Ho Chi Minh Mosuleum. Exceptional service and great hotel!
- gypsysou;3 (10/5): Cant go wrong here..... - Excellent service, room, buffet breakfast, location, price. Loved the room with the big balcony.
- Fernand (8/5): Centrally located hotel - The receptionist Hanah, was lovely and very helpful. The hotel was well located. My only negative point concerns their wake up service. Twice I ordered it, and twice they reassured me, but on both times they failed to call me on time.
- hanh (10/5): It's like Home - I booked several interval days at this hotel. Every time coming back, I really feel like I am coming home.
I love every minute, every interactions I have with people there. Can't ask for more.
- Peter (8/5): Nice - Excellent location in a relatively quiet street. Only small issue was the bathroom was a bit old compared to the photos on the Internet. But overall a nice place to stay. Excellent value for money.
- DJ28 (10/5): Pretty Perfect - For the price, this place can't be beat. The staff are amazing, the rooms are cosy and clean and the location is close to everything in the Old Quarter. ANother huge plus is the laundry service is the cheapest we've found. The only downside was the spa. I had a pretty terrible mani/pedi, but not a big deal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice hotel in great location - No complaints, even got a discount when I decided to stay for a couple more nights.
- Chiaw Sang (10/5): Fantastic hotel - Staffs were friendly and nice, location is good, rooms were nice and clean, shower was hot, breakfast was good. I'd absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Hanoi. Definitely one of the best hotels we've stayed so far.
- Graham & Jo (10/5): Brilliant service from staff - For the price we payed, the room was very comfortable with air con, cable tv and fresh towels and clean bedding provided every day. Breakfast was basic but sufficient and it was nice eating on the top floor giving you a great view of the city. However, the best thing about this simple hotel was the staff. From always opening the front door and helping us with our luggage, to spending time going through maps( and not pushing their own tours, which is a rarity in vietnam) they were excellent. If we were ever in Saigon again we would definitely return.
- Chiaw Sang (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - This hotel is situated right in the middle of the Old Quarters. Staffs are amazing. Breakfast was wonderful. The hot water for shower was constantly hot. Superb hotel and great value. I'd definitely recommend Rising dragon villa hotel to anyone who's visiting Hanoi.
- Shane (10/5): Excellent hotel - Excellent hotel with a good location. Friendly staff who will explain to you the sights of Hanoi.
- Chris Cher (8/5): Excellent Value for Money! - For the amount I paid for this hotel, I was expecting something lesser but this hotel delivered much more. Its relatively new and great location and the staff were extremely helpful and attentive.
- MB (8/5): Great value - Treated like royalty by the fabulous staff, some of the rooms are a little noisy and smaller than a westerner might be used to, ask for a room on the top floor and you shouldn't be disappointed. Relatively convenient to the major sights of Hanoi but taxis are cheap and the hotel staff are all to willing to help, you don't need more!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great, comfortable small hotel in the Old Quarter - I stayed at the Rising Dragon on the recommendation of a friend, Hue Pham. It is an older hotel so is small so lacks amenities such as restaurants, bars and pools. But what it lack in this area, it make up for in character and friendliness. My room was immaculate and the beautiful white Vietnamese coverlet on the bed had beautiful rose petals strewn across in welcome. Vietnamese buffet breakfast was available each morning in a cozy dining area on the first floor. Security was great and you literally walk out the door into a wonderful historical area for shopping and fine unique restaurants. You are assaulted by the dizzying sounds, smells and sights of Hanoi! If you are flying in, arrange your own shuttle through the official information booths inside the airport (and know that there are two separate areas that you may come through for international) You can arrange a return shuttle for your departure pick up from the hotel at the same time with a discount. There are several tours you can book through the hotel also...a little more expensive than from the street vendors but much more secure. A great little gem and I would certainly recommend and return. The staff were amazing!
- Paul (10/5): Great one night stop with good customer service - We booked for one night on our way back home to Singapore from Halong Bay. The location in the old quarter was convenient for finding dinner and the rooms were quiet and very well maintained. Breakfast the next morning wad also good with a couple different hot options to choose from. The only downside is that the rooms were not as advertised. We had booked two connecting rooms, each with one queen bed and two single beds. Unfortunately connecting means they are on the same floor (there are only two rooms per floor) meaning you can't leave a door open between the rooms as you might expect. The bigger issue as the rooms only had a queen and one single bed. Fortunately the staff showed excellent customer service by offering us a choice of additional rooms. In the end the problem as solved by squeezing a fold up bed into our existing room, a tight squeeze but ok for one night. Overall we we had a great stay and I would recommend this hotel to other friends travelling.
- ido (10/5): excelent - very good
- Jeremy (8/5): Very helpful and friendly staff - The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Any problem that came up they took care of immediately. When we checked in, the staff took time to show us various points of interest in town and suggest things to do. The hotel can also book tours and their prices are reasonable, which makes it very convenient. Since we traveled with our two small children, the staff made sure that we could get into our room as quickly as possible after checking in even with it being early in the morning. Overall, the hotel is comfortable with good sized rooms and the staff speaks good english. Overall, a very good experience.
- Vera & Carl. (8/5): Enter the dragon... - If you're planning on stopping a few nights in central Hanoi then you could do far worse than checking into the Rising Dragon Villa Hotel. The rooms, though a little on the small side (and hence a tad cramped and humid when the bathroom's being used), are clean, comfortable, well equipped and do a good enough job of keeping the manic hussle & bussle of the city out of your hair. The complementary breakfast is more than up to the task of setting you up for the day but the largest praise has to here served for the staff, of whom nothing is too much trouble or hassle.
- Josi (8/5): Rising Dragon Villa Hotel - Good size rooms, clean, good location, helpful staff, free wifi, good breakfast.
- David (10/5): Fantastic - Best accommodation we have experienced in Vietnam. Great service, modern rooms, great breakfast and staff very helpful and professional. Definitely recommend.
