Guest Reviews
- Mathew (6/5): - Nice little hotel near Museumplien, staff was usually busy on their cell phones, not greeting guests as they return or leave in the morning.
The free breakfast was pathetic, total of 6 croissants, and one glass of orange juice for all guests to share. There is a coffee machine but no sugar or cream available to add to you coffee.
Likely wouldnt stay again, for the price definitely not worth it.
- John (8/5): - It is right beside the fabulous Vondelpark and a short walk to the Van Gogh and good eating places.
- Olga (10/5): - Charming neighborhood. Nice staff. Quiet.
- Haley (8/5): - A nice hotel in a wonderful location. Vondelpark is practically right outside your door!
The rooms are nice, but nothing fancy. The breakfast buffet is minimal, but a convenient option for a quick bite. The staff is very nice and accommodating.
It would not be my first choice if you're looking to stay somewhere fancy, but if you care more about being in a fantastic location and are okay with everything else just being "pretty good," this is the place for you.
- Mariam (8/5): - The hotel was clean and in a very nice area of Amsterdam
Only complain was that wardroom was not cleaned and towels were not changed for two days but Bekram the receptionist was very helpful when we complained and made sure that we have fresh towels
There was also free coffee croissant and fruits every morning in the basement for free
- Robert John (10/5): - With only 17 rooms, it felt almost "family-run" - great service, great location, and the best (free) breakfast croissants I have ever tasted!
- Nathan (10/5): - Very good, no complaints. Great location and check in
- Jessica (8/5): - Très bon hôtel, dans un quartier particulièrement calme.
- Jessica Sky (8/5): - Perfect for a long weekend with everything you need. Only downside was the hairdryer which stayed on for about a minute then you had to wait to use it again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very comfortable bed
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Comfort Hotel. - It was really GREAT hotel. Each staff was kind and friendly. My room was "comfort room". It was not so big room but not so small. It was so comfy room for myself. Really clean room. Bath room perfect clean. They had a Coffee machine. Anytime, I can drink coffee, tea, hot water.
Hotel is located at Museum area. For me, easy to get Museum. Accuse to AMS Airport also easy.
- Anthony (10/5): - A nice quiet hotel very handy for the Rijksmuseum and other art galleries, also the Concertgebouw. The single room I had was good for a short stay, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean. This hotel does not have a restaurant but there were several places to eat and drink within a short walk.
- Karel (10/5): - Betaalbaar, eenvoudig goed hotel. Fijne rustige buur op de rand van het Vondelpark.
- Alexander (8/5): - Very nice that they have for breakfast some sweets, apples and cafe. Overall I really can recommend the hotel
- Sonya (10/5): A great quiet neighborhood near museums - This hotel is located in a lovely quiet neighborhood that is a 5 mins walk to the Museumplein and 10-30 mins walk into the busier bar/shopping/red light district. Be prepared to walk in order to see everything. Cute cafès within 5 mins walk.
Staff were very friendly.
They told us beforehand that the hair dryer did not work in the room but had one at the front desk, when needed. Great hot showers. Rooms were nicely maintained and clean. The only minor "cons" were you could hear people in the hallways but everyone was quiet and respectful.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Perfectly located for the museum quarter.
- Daniel (8/5): - Great spot near Vondelpark, room was decent and not too small by Amsterdam standards.
- Alex (10/5): Thumbs up. - Spent one night here before I had to fly home. It was in a lovely location. Staff were nothing but helpful and friendly.
I turned up early and asked if I could leave my luggage there as check in wasn't for a few hours, also left it there the following morning after check out as my flight wasn't until late - they were more than happy to accommodate that.
Room was clean and comfortable.
I'd highly recommend. Great location for a lot of sites. Easy enough to walk to places if you don't want to take public transport.
- John (8/5): - Overall good experience.
- Dave (6/5): - Great room, but the internet was very spotty or sometimes did not work at all.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fantastic Location! - We had a most pleasant stay in this modest sized hotel and in a quiet neighborhood street just beyond the Museum square. The room and bed were excellent! We had some issues with the room cleaning which were resolved. There’s a pleasant breakfast room in the basement with adequate food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, large room with comfortable bed and marble bathroom with dual showerhead. Excellent location to Museums and Vondelpark. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The front reception people were extremely helpful. Jackie showed us , on maps, where we wanted to go. She also offered great suggestions of things to do and places to eat.. She also was very helpful by arranging our transportation to the airport. The room was clean and comfortable. It is close to many attractions that we could walk to. It is not on a busy street so it's quiet at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Situation ideal for our visit to Amsterdam; clean, comfortable; helpful, pleasant staff.
- Blacklaws (10/5): Just what I wanted. - Great for a stopover in South Amsterdam.
Quiet, comfortable, clean, great bathroom with heated tiles (just what you want when it's -2C outside!)
Breakfast was basic but adequate.
Staff nice.
Close to all the touristy things.
Great shops, restaurants, buildings, bars in the area.
You might even see a canal...
A bit expensive for what it is but it is in the middle of Amsterdam.
I'd stay again to go and see my friend and her famous pianist husband...woo hoo!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall good location around the museum area. less than 10 minutes walk from the major museums. Friendly and helpful staff. I was on the street level and sometimes it could be a bit noisy with outside noise but not too bad.
- Leslie (8/5): Light busted in the bed frame - A small LED light built into the bed frame was broken and would not turn off. We called the front desk the first night and they tried to disassemble the light, to no avail. The light kept me up half the night. By the second night, the front desk determined they could not have the light fixed before our visit ended and simply taped over the light. It allowed me to get sleep but it was disappointing for such a nice hotel in a great area. Staff was friendly and otherwise helpful. Breakfast was sufficient.
- Saulo (10/5): - Staff made us feel at home during all times. Breakfast felt very simple though, more options and variety could work here. Location is perfect, with vondelpark just at the side and main museums at walking distance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - Clean quiet affordable clean quiet affordable clean quiet
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ladies working afternoon shift excellent
- Verified traveler (8/5): good basic hotel - near to museums and a quiet environment
- nals (8/5): Nice hotel close to everything - Basic hotel with minimal amenities but close to center - excellent location . We would recommend it for people who don’t want to spend $$ but still want a pleasant hotel
- Chantal (8/5): Good hotel - Our stay at Parkview was overall great: the staff are so friendly and tend to all your needs and you can hire the hotel bikes which is ideal! It’s located 5 min walk from town (Leidseplein) Breakfast is continental: not great for a Brit but OK. The cleanliness was fine, we had one rogue cockroach but it was terential rain so I think it came from outside. All in all a good city break!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location and staff. - Great location and staff. Good price for the experience we had
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, great staff - This is a great place to stay. The bathroom had recently been renovated. The bed was comfortable and the place was kept spotless. The staff was very helpful and polite. Decent breakfast was included. The location was close to several tourist sites, shopping and good restaurants. It was walkable to the Center of the city and also had great transportation close by. Good value. Would definitely recommend.
- Mike (10/5): A quiet and peaceful hotel - This was a fairly small hotel in terms of size.
It was chosen, partially on price but also due to its good access to the city centre with 2 tram routes to the close by as well as others going both east and west. It was therefore in a central position relative to the Amsterdam transport network.
The only downside, if it is one, is that it is about a 5 minute walk to the tram stop but hardly a disadvantage when on holiday - except when it's raining!
That apart, there was no criticism which could could be directed to the hotel or the staff who, at the end of our stay had become almost like friends.
Having a heated bathroom floor was a bit of a novelty!
- David (10/5): A Nice Place To Stay - In a very nice part of Amsterdam. Quiet street, next to a large park, near good restaurants, and near a lot of very good museums. Friendly staff and very good breakfast.
- Brian (10/5): Great location and excellent room - Great place
- Corey (8/5): Amazing. - This was my first time out of the UK and this hotel was perfect. The woman that was in reception was very warm and welcoming, and went out of her way to give us some local knowledge of the surrounding area. The room was very clean, and the bathroom was very spacious. The location was great, very close to the trams to get into the centre, 10 minutes from the local shop, and right next to Vondelpark. What a brilliant hotel.
- robbie (8/5): Good hotel in quiet position - good staff in the hotel and very helpful receptionist. Well laid out breakfast and good choices. Good facilities
In the bedroom and very comfortable bed. Would highly recommend for visiting the museums and great transport
for visiting elsewhere in Amsterdam.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice, quiet location in the museum district - The hotel is clean and attractive. It is located just a few minutes' walk off of a busy street in the museum district, but is surprisingly quiet as it seems to be in the middle of a mostly residential area. The breakfast is also quite nice and offers a good selection of options.
- kate (10/5): Great location, quiet and away from the tourists - Stayed here for a conference because it was on a lot of tram lines so very convenient. Great quiet local neighbourhood. The hotel is small but well equipped and comfortable a bonus is a continental breakfast each morning is included in the tariff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fantastic location steps from Vondel Park. Downside is it gets quite noisy at night when rowdy people walk or cycle through the park. Bring earplugs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel in a quiet location next to large park - Comfortable room. Good shower room. Convenient for museum quarter. Helpful staff.
- Michal (10/5): Great Hotel - Great Hotel, good location
- Alan (6/5): Wake up sounding like Darth Vader - I did like this hotel, even though our king sized bed came with 2 single duvets instead of 1 big king sized duvet. I don't know if maybe the air condition was faulty or not, but every morning I woke up feeling like I'd smoked 20 cigarettes the night before. As an ex-smoker and part-time alcoholic I do know what feels like..... Breakfast was ok, although it was only continental style ( i.e. No fry ups). Location was pretty good I thought as it forces you to explore the area more.
- T J (10/5): Wonderful Amsterdam museums location - Nice boutique lodgings in convenient location and great neighborhood. Spouse and I enjoyed our three day stay 27 Nov 2016. Staff was extremely nice keeping breakfast freshly stocked.
- Jon (8/5): Great location - The hotel is comfortable, and the breakfast nice. It is situated on the edge of Vondelpark, which is beautiful and quiet, and two blocks from the trams and busses to get around Amsterdam. We enjoyed our stay a great deal!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Spacious rooms close to major museums - Really spacious room with a convenient location for Museum-goers. Quiet neighborhood just a short walk to shopping and restaurants. The bed was also very comfortable, neither too firm nor too soft. Overall, the hotel is a great value for the price.
- robert (10/5): A great spot and boutique-y room. - Loved the room, the breakfast and the location neat the Museumpleine.
- Vivien (4/5): - The man who worked the morning shift in receotion was very rude and unhelpful. His manner was a disgrace and he should not be working in a customer-facing job. He refused to get us more coffee sachets, instead telling us to wait till later. Also, we stayed four nights and asked the room be cleaned once during our stay. We came back abd the beds were made but nothing else done - no clean towels, glasses and cups not washed, bathroom not cleaned. When i went to speak to this man who worked in reception he told me housekeeping was not finished yet. This hotel is NOT worth 175 euro per night. And i have doubts that we had a deluxe room and not a standard. Not impressed.
- Sharon (10/5): Four nights in Amsterdam - Really enjoyed the hot and cold breakfast selections. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Francine (10/5): - A great little hotel with a nutritious breakfast, close to the park , museums and shops, and an easy tram ride to center of the city :)
- Fiona (8/5): Nice hotel stone's throw from museums - Great little stay in the museum district! It's walking distance from everywhere (or you can hire bikes on the front doorstep) including museums, canal tours, the grocery store and more. The staff were helpful too. The only let down was that the room was not very clean - other people's hair in the bathroom, grime around the plugs and the pillows and towels were worn.
- SHEILA (10/5): Excellent- can't fault! - Lovely peaceful area next to the Park. Quite a way from main town, but we enjoy walking, although there were restaurants nearby. Convenient for airport bus. Very friendly helpful reception staff. Bed was VERY comfortable and breakfast more than adequate. Would book again and recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A pleasant hotel in a great location - Stayed in a central hotel on business, then moved to this one for the weekend. Neighbourhood is VERY quiet - perfect for relaxing and sleeping well. Right next to Vondelpark - a nice route for walking in to Leidseplein. Room was smallish (bathroom is tiny!), but well-appointed and decor not tired. Reception was manned the entire time we were there - staff are helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was simple (and bacon all gone by 0900 on the second day), but a nice addition, when most hotels charge an extra €15.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 4 nights in May/June - Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Park View. Good location in a quieter part of Amsterdam adjacent to Vondelpark and close to museums. Our room was spacious and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast!
- Bassam (8/5): Pleasrable stay - It was great and amazing stay. The location is great and everything is accessible with a little bit walking.
- David (10/5): A good value - This hotel gives you good value for services received: quiet, safe environment, a clean room with adequate space and good beds, a very essential breakfast, and closeness in many Amsterdam sites.
- lily (8/5): Best location - Amsterdam was first time but finding this hotel was easy and while
I was staying I realized that the hotel was in a good neighbour. You will find good restaurant near by tram stops near Van Gogh museum and others. One thing I was not care for this place was breakfast 3min away there is lots of cafe that u can grab to eat breakfast. Staff was very friendly helpful. last day that I was there somehow I got sick I don't know why or how I know that was not from hotel food because I have not had any. While I was in the lobby being sick the staffs was make sure I was okay and asked many time if I needed help. I got better later and I really appreciate their attention! Thank you!
- Jonathan (10/5): - Fantastic hotel in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. Short walk to museums, galleries and the Leidseplein and casino. Didn't see much of the park as it was raining but looked lovely from what we did see.
- Susan (8/5): A very enjoyable stay - Excellent location very close to the major museums and tram links. In a nice quiet side street in a residential area which felt very safe. Great wet-room style bathroom with under floor heating, although that was a little warm for me. Our air conditioning unit wasn't working but the staff brought us a portable air conditioning unit very quickly. Lovely comfy bed in a good sized room. Breakfast was a little basic but tasty. The only downside is that there was nowhere to store our cases on the last day after we had checked out
- Euge (8/5): Lovely hotel - This is a lovely hotel in a quiet position. We had trouble finding it as we had not accurately researched it's exact position. It is very well presented and although there is not a huge selection for breakfast it was all good quality food. It is handily placed in the museum quarter but we did not find many places to eat in the immediate vicinity. We only stayed for one night so perhaps we just needed to explore more.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location - Nice walking distance to the museums, shopping nightlife and Vondelpark. A very nice residential neighbourhood nearby with great local restaurants. Our first stay was near Rembrandt Square so we chose another area of the city for this stay. The hotel is boutique so does not have the amenities or service of a large hotel but we would certainly stay there again.
- Frank (10/5): Nice hotel conveniently located - Location ver appropriate walking distance to Van Gogh, Rijks, tram to connection for Central Staation, Dam Square..
- Tom (8/5): Desirable location - Close to best art museums and main tram line and tourist attractions. Adjacent to beautiful park, too. Not fancy hotel but very adequate. Staff were polite and helpful.
- Rebecca (10/5): Peaceful and comfortable! - Wonderful hotel very peaceful area, hotel staff very friendly! Fantastic under floor heatig! Would defiantly stay again!
- Glenn (10/5): Great place - The hotel is very close to museums and park. Beautiful area and pretty quiet. We were very thankful that after arriving at 9a they allowed us to check into our rooms early. Everything was great except once we didn't get towels and had to ask for them, the same thing with toilet paper. Our shower was broken but was fixed immediately. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend this to friends.
- Elena (8/5): - Great location...on a quiet street next to the park and near the Museums. Room was nice and modern and all staff personnel were friendly. Fridge in room did not work and coverlet for bed was not clean. Neither were fixed while during our 3 night stay despite requests. Other than those things, it was a pleasant stay with a decent breakfast at $12 E each.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Amsterdam - Quiet hotel in beautiful neighborhood. Near tram, museumplein. Staff very helpful.
Very pleased with this hotel. Walked in nearby vondelpark on sunny day!
- Richard (8/5): Good standard clean hotel - Good standard, decent value hotel in great location near Vondel Park.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to museums - Helpful in arranging airport shuttle. Nice breakfast room
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good place for the price - This is a no frills place which offers very good location near Vondelpark and the Museums with spacious rooms and very responsive staff. Newly renovated bathrooms and wifi. I was surprised that the breakfast was not included in the price.
- Mary B (10/5): Located next to beautiful Park and museums - Perfect hotel for our stay - , VERY quiet, convenient, friendly, comfortable. Right next to Vondel Park for relaxing strolls between sights. Pleasant staff. Fan provided,no AC, but could open windows because of quiet location in city. Birds in the park were delightful wake up call ! Easy walk to museums, shopping, trams, restaurants
