• Genevieve (10/5): - The hotel was well kept and staff very friendly and helpful. Very accessible to trams with restaurants around and a grocery. Although my room was very tiny it still was good with comfy bed. My only suggestion is to provide a super absorbent floor mat for the shower to prevent water from going all over the floor. The bathroom floor was all leveled. I would definitely stay at Hotel Espresso again and would recommend to friends and family. Thank you Hotel Espresso!

• Conar (6/5): - Great location. Very basic rooms. Windows are locked so cannot open. Airconditioning is basically non-existent. The staff on the Friday and Sunday night were lovely. The lady working Saturday morning was a bit rude. Bathrooms and beds were good.

Rooms were fresh and clean with a good shower. Girls on Reception polite , helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my stay at hotel espresso and would recommend it. Got what I paid for which is not always the case in Amsterdam lol

The hotel didn't have much in the way of services but there were many options nearby. It felt a little dated and used hard. It was a cost-effective option.

After check out when we came back in evening the receptionist lady Maria was very rude to me and my wife. She even came to washroom to ask me something. She pointed my wife to use washroom for the kid. We never faced this type of issue in a hotel. Not acceptable. I need an apology from hotel management.

• Cynthia (8/5): - The hotel's location makes it accessible to visit the Rijksmuseum, Vondelpark, and Canal Cruise. They are walkable distances; just be careful with cyclists. Also, the area has plenty of shops where you can buy food or relax for coffee. All the staff we met during our stay were kind, approachable, and pleasant to talk with. They allowed us to check in early, which I'm thankful for. I managed to rest before we visited the museum.
• katherine (8/5): Two night stay - We were able to leave our luggage with the front desk after arriving very early to Amsterdam from the U S . The young man checking in us in was very nice and was able to get our room before noon. Very grateful. The hotel is walking distance to bus and tram. Grocery store on same block. Beds were comfortable. The only problem was our kettle had black rust on it and could not use it. Basic hotel but clean and quiet.

• Thomas (4/5): Nice rooms, rowdy crowd - Due to a missed flight, we needed a one night stay in Amsterdam. We choose the Espresso as we wanted to visit sites the following day in town. Unfortunately, they only had one room left and it was directly off the lounge area, and adjacent to the elevators and floor entry door. Lot's of loud partying Brits in for some soccer match coming and going all night, so virtually no sleep that night. The room was clean and comfortable and a good value. But many of the guests were incredibly thoughtless.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, the best bed I've had yet on my Europe venture. I was lucky enough to have a room with windows or the place would've felt even smaller. It is a tiny room and the building its self my be outdated and in need of a few more modern touches, but they do have everything you need, comfort, kindness, and cleanliness.

• Joshua (2/5): - PROS: More affordable than other hotels. It is close and within walking distance to the museums, attractions, etc. We checked our luggage in early when we got to Amsterdam. Bed was OK. CONS: Person at the counter was arguing with a customer when we walked in. Really noisy. Almost like there was a window open or no window at all. Can hear everything out in the street at all hours. Our floor in the room had a large spongy feel which we tried to avoid walking on. We also got hit with a "resort fee" when there are literally no amenities. Perhaps shower soap was the amenity. Why is there a profiteering fee? No coffee in the room, no breakfast, if you want a coffee, it was one Euro. If you want to go cheap, you might as well get a hostel for a better experience, or get a better name brand hotel.

We had to sleep almost naked with the covers off to try to stops sweating. Most of the TV channels didn’t work. Not even BBC1. The vending machine was broken and the Espresso coffee cost €1 a cup.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Clean, and No Frills - No frills hotel close to a tram stop. We asked for a room with two twin beds, and got a room with a fullsize bed; not terrible, but inconvenient.

• Brett (10/5): - Stayed here during a 20-hour layover in Amsterdam and absolutely loved it! It was my first time in Amsterdam and I really wish my wife and I could've stayed longer. The hotel is close to a bunch of landmarks, museums, strips of restaurants, etc. Lots of hustle and bustle nearby. Rooms were clean, and the bed was the comfiest one we slept in during our 2-week Europe trip! The room was a little small but the layout made it seem bigger than it was. Nice bathrooms and shower. I will DEFINITELY stay here again on my next visit to Amsterdam!
• Justin (8/5): - This was a pleasant stay right at the tram stop in a delightful western neighborhood of Amsterdam with lots of cafes and shops. Young people were hanging out chatting in the lobby and outside. Room was noisy from motorcycle and scooter traffic at pizza delivery place next door.

• Malgorzata (6/5): Not great but decent for the price and location - The cleanliness was so so. Bathroom toilet seat was dirty and water kettle had rusty water with particles inside it. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible- non functional dark and dim. The bathroom shelf underneath the mirror is badly positioned as you hit your head on after rinsing your face in the sink. The single bed in a 3 person bedroom was extremely narrow and only 1 tiny pillow. The towels were not changed after the 1st night. The room overall was modern and the bathroom too. The floor was clean.
• Laura (6/5): - The hotel room itself was ok - very small, not enough room to set out your suitcase and leave it, but it was fine. The area around the hotel is dirty. Garbage in the street and on the sidewalk. The air conditioning broke before we arrived and the windows in our room were inoperable. After one night with a fan which was miserable, the hotel management gave us a full refund for our next two nights of reservation to find a hotel with air.
• Morgan (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Espresso! The room was very small, but we booked as a place to sleep after long days exploring, so it did the job well! The only complaint would be that the elevator was broken for most of our stay, and getting big suitcases up and down the little stairs was a challenge. Overall a very good experience!

• Ian (10/5): - This is a very comfortable, clean, modern European hotel with an incredibly polite and helpful staff. While it's not one of Amsterdam's many historic properties, it's embedded within a historic area, giving you the best of both worlds. Very comfortable accommodations within walking distance of basically everything in Amsterdam. Whether we were walking to Centraal Station or the ARTIS Zoo, we never walked more than half an hour (and the more walking one does in Amsterdam, the better, since it's such a beautiful city). Would stay here again.

The window didn’t look outside it was in the middle of the building looking at everyone elses window. No fresh air at all. And people shouting all night. Also directly under the flight path with planes landing every 2 minutes. Worst 3 nights sleep ever. Close to tram stop into the centre of Amsterdam though that’s one positive
