I spent 4 nights in a twin room on the first floor at Elanez Hotel in September 2025 The staff are very friendly & make you feel welcome. The location is excellent, just round the corner from the hustle & bustle of Istanbul but I couldn’t hear any of it from the room which was fab! Most things are in walking distance which is amazing, just 15 mins to Sultanahmet Square with Topkapi Palace & Hagai Sofia etc. If you want to venture further out the T1 tram is a few minutes walk away. The room is large with a twin bed, sofa, fridge, tv, good air con & a bathroom. The bathroom is a good size but a bit run down & there were ants. The shower pressure is good but sometimes there is no water for half an hour, I think this is an Istanbul issue though not the hotel. WiFi is good & strong. There aren’t many plug sockets which isn’t ideal. Breakfast was nice with 3 hot options each day boiled eggs, omelette & then chips or pepperoni it changed each day. There is also salad, cheese, meats, fruit, bread, jams & spreads. Fruit juices & hot drinks. Lots of supermarkets & restaurants nearby it is the perfect location. Worth staying for the central Istanbul location as long as you don’t mind a few things not perfect.

• JenniferC161 (10/5): Best hotel, most-helpful staff in Istanbul! - The Elanaz hotel team (Irina, Hussein and another gentleman whose name I didn’t catch) are probably the most-helpful and friendly hotel staff I’ve ever met. “Above and Beyond!” describes all of them! Our Tuskish is very limited, but most staff spoke pretty good English, or we used Google translate if necessary. We got help getting a taxi (when no one from Bitaksi would take us to our destination) and setting up a surprise “Congratulations!” gift for my daughter waiting in our room on arrival (thank you Hussein- my daughter was Thrilled and you really went above and beyond!). The rooms are clean and nice, breakfast is good, and the location is fantastic! Walkable to many of Istanbul’s most-famous spectacles and very close to tram, ferry and metro for those that are further away. We really enjoyed our stay, and our visit to Istanbul was 10 times better because of the kindness and help from staff here.

Het hotel is eenvoudig maar echt genoeg voor als je toch veel de stad in bent. De kamers zijn modern en worden elke dag schoongemaakt! Het ontbijt is niet enorm uitgebreid, maar dat is echt geen enkel probleem. Erg aan te bevelen!

The location of the hotel was close to historical and cultural places, for example, Hagia Sophia was very close to the archeology museum in Gülhane park, the metro was right next to the hotel, the tram was close.
• marcello (8/5): Consigliato nonostante alcuni difetti - Questo hotel, di sole 13 camere, presenta pregi e difetti. 1) Posizione fantastica, comodissima per i principali monumenti. 2) La camera, seppur piccola, era pulita e funzionale, con arredamento e finiture nuove. 3) Personale alla reception molto cortese, anche se non sempre presente. 4) Le zone comuni sono terribili, a partire dalla minuscola lobby. 5) La sala colazione, posta in un seminterrato senza finestre, é piccolissima, vecchia e piuttosto mal tenuta. Inaccettabile ad esempio il soffitto rotto con calcinacci che incombono sul cibo. 6) Scelta cibo e bevande non ampia, anche se tutto sommato di qualità discreta. 7) Alcuni problemi in bagno (coperchio del water rotto, rubinetto del lavandino mal funzionante). Ho assegnato comunque un giudizio buono. Se si conoscono e si accettano le carenze della struttura, questo hotel rimane comunque una buona scelta.

• 133ninig (2/5): Terrible Experience – Misleading Description! - Terrible Experience – Misleading Description! This hotel was a huge disappointment and did not match the description or photos online at all. The room was extremely small, narrow, and impractical. Everything was dusty, dirty, and poorly maintained. The bathroom was filthy, the shower screen was broken, and the glass was covered in grime. Even the insect screen was torn. The balcony was tiny and dirty. The air conditioning barely worked and couldn’t cool the room properly in the summer heat. The furniture was old and worn-out. After the first night, we asked to cancel the remaining nights, but the hotel refused to refund any portion of the payment — not even for the unused nights. The staff simply told us, “If you don’t like it, that’s your problem.” We were forced to find another hotel, which caused additional stress and unplanned expenses. The only positive thing was the location — everything else was a major letdown. I strongly advise others not to fall for the misleading presentation and to avoid this place.
• PETRI TAPANI (10/5): - This small hotel is situated in a very busy hotel-tourist-area and location is the best for traveller who wants to find all entertainments(good and bad) at the same time. There is only a few steps to Tram, Metro to Asian side, small walk to all inportant interests like Hagia Sophia, Grand bazaar and all the others. Only problem is that there is hundreds of restaurants also, many size and overpushing sellers in a street to pull you into their shop or restaurant. These restaurants takes 3 times more prices than places little bit more far away- in Asian side the prices are 1/4 of this area, so keep in mind when you try to find a good and fair restaurant...there is only a few and are difficult to find. We got cheated many times on service, prices and "special offers " that turned to be volletkillers. ..so beware... the more they shout and promise, the more they will cheat you and steal your money with a bad experience of even taste of a food... This hotel is a great excample how the small is always better than a big one who just shout out loud but dont do anything but harm your feelings. These people in hotel management, kitchen , cleaning and all this are doing the best and that is very much. Allthough breakfast room is small, it has all the changing flavours each day and everything is made by love to customers. Reception is really open with human all 24 hours and the cleaning is so perfect that there is no space of bad comments. So, I wish you will find your booking to this.

• Raheem (8/5): - We had a pleasant stay at Elanaz Hotel, which is situated in a fantastic area — definitely the highlight of the stay. The location is incredibly convenient, with some of the best restaurants and Hafiz Mustafa just steps away. It made exploring the city super easy and enjoyable. The room was comfortable and spacious enough, with a small but lovely view of the Bosphorus, which added a nice touch. The price was quite reasonable, especially considering the prime location. The staff were very kind and welcoming, always ready to help and offer recommendations, which we really appreciated. There were a couple of small issues during our stay: the hot water took around two minutes to come on in the shower, and we noticed a small puddle forming in the bathroom — we weren’t sure where it came from, but it was minor. Overall, it’s a great option if you’re looking for a well-located, affordable stay in Istanbul with friendly service and easy access to major attractions.

• Bryan (10/5): Highly recommend. - I arrived in the very early morning hours, and the staff were more than welcoming. They were fantastic. Everything had the standards, privacy and service you'd expect from a good hotel, but with the kind of warmth you usually only get in someone’s home. That my holiday was over — I should have booked a longer trip to Istanbul.

The only complaint was a foul sewage smell from the toilet that started to occur after 5 ish days and would come and go each day.

• Mohamed (5/5): Passable - Close proximity to tram, metro, and tourist attractions. Good size room. Comfortable bed and pillows. The room is modern and clean. We had a room with a balcony and seaview 🙂 The air-conditioning wasn't working. The basin tap in the bathroom squeaks when closing. The water doesn't flow quickly through the pipe from the basin. There isn't a proper shower head attached in the shower, just a handheld. We were really disappointed with the breakfast 😕 😪

• Nacer (1/5): DON’T BOOK AT THIS HOTEL DUE TO VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. - There was an unpleasant and horrible odor coming from the shower drain in the bathroom. Very bad customer service. Instead of fixing the shower drain due to very bad odor, they only used a spray bottle to mask the smell which remained. Also the bed cover was dirty.
• Luciana (10/5): - Hotel Elanaz is excellent! The location is perfect : close Boaphorus, to the Grand Bazar, to the Haga Sofia and Blue Mosque, close to many restaurants! The hotel is cozy and very clean. Youssef is so nice and helpful! Also is everything really clean. Breakfast is basic but good. We definitely recommend and we would love to come back!

Nur der Raum zum Frühstück ist sehr klein und eng max .für 12 Personen aber wenn wirklich alle 12 gleich Frühstücken ist es sehr sehr eng und es ist extrem warm. es ist katastrophe und wirklich viel auswahl gibt es nicht.

Our room faced the front and had a full wall of windows and sliding glass door (to a Juliette balcony). The room was bright and quite spacious with all the basic amenities you might need. Hussein at the front desk was extremely helpful and able to answer all our questions as well as arrange a 2am pick up to the airport for us. Highly recommend!
• Joël (8/5): Hotel très bien situé et propre - Un petit hôtel comme on les aime, simple, propre et très bien situé. La chambre avec un petit balcon et vue sur le Bosphore etait tres agréable. Un plaisir de boire un verre en soirée face à ce panorama. La salle d'eau est très propre, bien équipée et fonctionnelle . Nous deplorons deux petites choses : le menage non fait le deuxième jour et le refus de nous donner un peu de pain le matin du depart à 7h30 , avant l'heure du petit déjeuner, alors que celui-ci etait compris dans le prix. Dommage.

Hôtel très bien situé dans une rue calme proche de la gare Sirkeçi et des transports urbains. Personnel très accueillant et agréable. Chambre propre. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié.

Most things are at walking distance. The room was very confortable. Turkish welcome is what it is. Breakefast is quite limited. For a few minutes we had no water.

• Sandra (8/5): - Zu Beginn wurden wir in ein nicht geputztes Zimmer geschickt, haben dann aber ein geputztes bekommen. Handtuch hatte blutige Flecken. Man bekommt aber tägliche frische Handtücher. Das Frühstück ist nicht besonders- sehr wenig Auswahl- schlechter Kaffee, billige sehr süße Säfte, kaum Obst. Tolle Lage, nettes Personal.
