- Veron Veko Yala (9/5): Vacation at Holiday Inn - The place was clean and quiet. In addition, you can easily walk to the Chinatown Big Bus pick-up and drop-off station for your tour. The place was generally pleasant; however, I believe plug adapters for international tourists should be available in the rooms. I had to purchase one from the reception. In addition, the room access card repeatedly stopped working, and I had to return to the reception more than three times to have it reactivated. It would be helpful to have a phone in the corridor to contact reception in such situations. Unfortunately, despite the repeated issue, the staff member at reception did not seem particularly concerned. It was quite frustrating, especially considering that for elderly guests, having to use the elevator multiple times for the same issue can be very tiring. Because of this experience, I would rate the service 2 stars. I stayed in room 206 under the name Veron Veko Yala.

- amatheney319 (2/5): Don't do it... - This was awful. Front desk staff was rude to a gentleman delivering laundry and then less than pleasant to myself while I was checking in. Upon entering the room, we got a whiff of urine. The AC was broken...unplugged and plugged back in and literally wouldn't come on. Thermostat...same. Phone was inoperable and even if it did work, it was missing more than half of the buttons required to be functional. Also, construction was going on outside, which would've been tolerable if the room hadn't had the other issues. We didn't even settle in. We went back down to the lobby and informed them we were not staying. We booked 4 Points Sheraton on Platt for about $600 less for 4 nights with a much nicer room. They did partial refund. Wouldn't recommend.

I chose this hotel as it was close to our event and was 5 minutes walking. No bottled water offered but to buy, it was there. Other than that, no complaints.

Walls were a little thin so you could hear people. However when the air conditioning was on it drowned out the noise. - R (5/5): - Good location if you want to be on the lower east side. Good, helpful staff. The exterior area is really sleazy. There's a pretty-much permanent scaffold around the building, (all too common in Manhattan), the entrance to the hotel is around the side from Delancey St - it's hard to see and very uninviting. My room faced Delancey St and the soundproofing is poor - it was very noisy until after 2am.
- Holly (8/5): Great LES location but air conditioning in room doesn’t work well - Location was great for our trip. Front Desk staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The air conditioning unit in our room did not work well at all. The room temp was 74 degrees or warmer for the entirety of our stay. It was very stuffy and impacted the ability to sleep comfortably. On two of the three days of our stay, staff came at our request and lowered the thermostat, first to 69 degrees, and secondly to 64 degrees. Yet the room temperature did not cool below 74 degrees. But for that, our stay would have been near perfect.

- Ramirez (7/5): Overall good for what I needed for a stay in the city. Being close to the subway helped a lot. - I liked the location of the hotel. I liked that we were able to keep our bags there before or after check in. The front desk workers were very kind. The space in between the king bed and the desk in the room did not have a lot of room to move around with. You could not use the chair to the desk and walk to the other side of the room. Possibly needs a smaller desk. I did not love that the bags that were left at the hotel before or after check-in were just left out in the open. I feel as if they should be kept in a more secure place. When I walked in to pick up my bags the front desk worker was speaking to another coworker in their office. It could have been just a second but that’s all it takes for some one to take something that isn’t theirs.

At check-in we were informed that our request for two beds wasn´t able to be honored, but by our second day, we were moved to a two bed room with a better view of the city! - itsmexo (1/5): I would not recommend staying at this hotel. - This was honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The only positive thing about it is its location, as it is close to the metro. Other than that, it has absolutely no good qualities. My biggest expectation from a hotel is that they respect their guests and help ensure a comfortable stay. Unfortunately, this hotel fails completely in that regard. First of all, the staff were extremely rude and uninterested. In my room, there was no TV remote and no hairdryer. I called the front desk and they said they would send them, but no one came for an hour. When I called again, I was practically scolded and told to be patient. When I called once more half an hour later, the staff member on shift had changed and had no idea about my request. I asked again, and this time they told me they didn’t even have a hairdryer available. If your hotel does not have basic amenities like a hairdryer, then do not advertise things on your website that you do not actually provide. On top of all this, what kind of hotel wakes its guests up at 8 AM with construction noise? I woke up in complete shock because of renovation work happening directly behind the wall next to my room. The noise was unbelievable. I honestly thought the wall was going to collapse on me, the whole room was shaking. If you think I am exaggerating, later that same day I met someone in the elevator who warned me not to stay on the lower floors because of the terrible construction. They said they had to change their room. If you are going to carry out renovations, you should not be placing guests on those floors at all. The curtains in the room were purely decorative. They were fixed to the sides and could not be closed. This means construction workers outside can see you while you are sleeping. I had to tie the curtains together with a clip just to get some privacy. The coffee machine in the room was cheap and did not even work. The air conditioning system was outdated, extremely noisy, and clearly very old. Although the location is somewhat decent, I am sure you can find a much more professional and better run hotel for the same price.

Minor issues: tv remote didn’t work first night. Informed front desk, didnt get a replacement until morning. No ice bucket. Thought the bed was accurate my wife (not a heavy person) sitting/getting on/off the mattress would slide off the bed.

- Dhruv (7/5): Good Hotel with the need for improvements for guest experience - Good location, while not central - good access to Underground at a 2min walk and quite central in the area. SOHO wasn't too far so helped with night outs. Lots of cafe's, restaurants in the vicinity. Good house keeping! Staff at front desk was quite helpful! Lots of renovation and refurbishment in the hotel currently, our key almost always failed to open our door and needed reconfiguring - apparently it was down to the lock and system being old and being updated as part of refurb.

Location was convenient for the F train. Contracting works outside and inside on the 2nd floor were loud and meant I didn’t sleep much beyond 8am (when jet lagged, not ideal).

- REGINALD (10/5): This would be my first choice for a hotel in NYC, and I've stayed in many. - Room was comfortable and quiet, with a great bed. The location was only a block from the subway and near lots of excellent restaurants. The staff was courteous and helpful. Nothing, really.

- Beth (8/5): The room was very nice and the location was great. - The room was very clean and recently remodeled. The lobby and the restaurant were underwhelming.

- Fainaru (6/5): - The location was great, and the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean. Was very cold (and dry) in the room, even with the heater. We asked for another blanket to be able to sleep, but still out of bed was cold. We are aware that this was one of the coldest weekends in New York City's history. In addition, there was construction on the lower levels, which we did not know about in advance. This added banging and noise. The hotel room needs a revamp. The nightstand drawer kept on opening because it wasn't leveled properly when installing/ mounting it to the wall.

- Tondíno (7/5): - Hotel location near metro station for few lines. Shops, restaurants and fast foods very near. Relatively small rooms. We had a room with two double beds for 4 people. There were two of us and it was small. One bed is scrunched up against the air conditioning/heating unit what very noisy when in operation. So you have only two options - not to freeze at night and turn on the automatic heating to a certain temperature and wake up every time the heating starts, or sleep more peacefully but freeze.

- Sheyla (7/5): - It's a budget hotel, meets basic needs. There is daily housekeeping but they basically just change the litter and towels, the hygiene is very basic. There is shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available, and also a hair dryer. The bed is confortable enough. There was a vent in our bathroom that even if turned off made the most raucous sound ever, I had to buy ear plugs to be able to fall asleep.
