- Peter Thomas Kilian (8/5): -
- Rodney (8/5): Excellent Hotel conveniently located - Excellent hotel for a short stay in Macau Center. Conveniently located to all the main sights and easy bus pickup to Cotai attractions It was all good
- Chin (8/5): Very good -
- Jamie (7/5): Good -
- Tourist53668205106 (2/5): WORST PLACE EVER - Only if I can give a zero star. We arrived over an hour after the check in time and the room was not ready. Reception staff was not helpful and rude. Location is horrible ( VERY dodgy with gamblers/ prostitute ) and we have to wear our mask the whole night as the room / AC filter is too dirty ( filled with allergen !)
- Mr (5/5): Passable -
- Benjamin (1/5): I wouldn’t stay there again. - The location was fine but the interaction between staff and customer was poor. No knowledge of the booking, charged for the night, charged for a no show when I actually stayed there. refused to pay back the deposit of $200 macau which I’m still
trying to get chased up.
All in all quote disappointed. I was given an upgrade room and the hotel is dated, quite ages but I expected that. as above.
- Anonymous (2/5): Very poor - room is very hot
- MattReece2000 (8/5): Great One Night Stay - I’ve been working my way through all the hotels in Macau via staycations. This one, Emperor Hotel was a nice surprise, renovated, and spruced up I had a very comfortable stay. Paid only 250mop for the room but it was extremely comfortable… well appointed, no lingering musty smell or cigarettes. Very happy, very comfortable, very pleasant… again ? Sure no problem. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Thanks
- Lafayette_30 (6/5): Nice hotel - Perfect for budget traveller, room is big. There's 7 eleven nearby.Everything is good except the lady staff f.o named Crystal Chio, unfriendly and not smiling. I hope you can train her more of welcoming guest. Thank you...
- 8888carminaa (2/5): Other guest with room key same as my room - Every thing was smooth and fine until the evening comes and i heard someone trying to open my door. Upon checking who is outside the door i found 2 old chinese couple was outside holding roomkeys and key card holder clearly mentioning the same room number that i have. The issue was immediately reported to the front desk, they apoligized but then this is a serious matter as it includes safety and security of their inhouse guests which is the most important thing the hotel must provide.
- Qabdykarim (6/5): A place to stay unless u r gambler - This hotel is considerably cheaper than most in Macau and close to Grand Lisboa, Senado square, Ruins of St.Paul. Better be prepared that the staff are not best in English. When we were checking in the guy at the reception failed to properly explain the need to confirm my credit card and payment of deposit. Props to senior manager who after that long useless conversation upgraded our room to suite. There is a lot of Chinese traditional cafes outside but there is no European type of service we used to. I mean we declined a dish we didn’t like but the waiter still tried to charge us by threatening to call police. It did not work against us though. Overall the food is ok but treatment of customers is way low.
- HKL (8/5): - Buffet breakfast generally ok but some dishes were not refilled.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Overall a pleasant stay - Check-in process was quick, and staff member was friendly and pleasant. Wifi service was strong and stable, yet my phone battery went out very fast when connected overnight. Toilet amenities were provided, even the housekeeping delivered the items to room quite promptly upon request.
Just the shower was "fixed" with slight angle adjustment (up and down). It just reached my shoulders, so personally lowered "the base" a bit for hair washing. Rusted handle was seen around the bathtub. One more thing is...... it took a bit long for check-out process, as 12noon was peak time for check-out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The schedule to macau ferry terminal and the border gate too long , if shorten is the best.
If there is a free bus to airport that bring more credit to the hotel .
- j (2/5): - the location is good but the whole property mades you uncomfortable
- Rita (8/5): - Clean rooms, safe area to be in and fairly easy access to all tourist spots. Only snag is there are no shuttle bus service offered in this hotel but can get free ride from other hotels nearby.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice location
- Verified traveler (6/5): - In the center
- Man Yi (4/5): - I will not stay at this hotel again.
- MissTse (4/5): - The smoking smell of my room 1711 is so strong and stuffy and also the water pressure of the bathroom is really low I’m so disappointed with that shower facility
- Hilary (6/5): Worst pillows ever! - This hotel was very middle of the road. We were apparently upgraded but I couldn’t tell-the room was exactly what we booked. We ordered room service and it took a long time to get someone who spoke English to take our order. Even then, he did not understand when I asked if their lunch specials were still available (it was about 3:30 when we ordered). When it arrived, they had no clue how to let us charge it to the room, and stared blankly when I tried to hand them a visa, so we had to scramble to find cash to pay. They also only brought 1 pair of chopsticks when we ordered 2 meals. The bed was hard, but a fairly typical Asian style bed. The pillows were the worst part though-it seriously felt like sleeping on bricks. I’ve never felt a pillow so hard before in my life. I was very grateful that I brought my own. There is a shuttle to the ferry pier, but it runs very irregularly. We took the shuttle at the Wynn across the street to get to Cotai.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fast check in,clean room and close to shopping mall
- emc09131955 (10/5): Macau trip - Very clean room, good location, good food at the restaurant, friendly and helpful staff at the Emperor Hotel. However, the telephone in the room was out of order.
Just quite disappointed because it rained for two consecutive days when we were there. Planned to go to Coloane but just went hotel/casino hopping because of the rain.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Near to many of the attractions of the city - easy to find and close to enough to the airport
- 247Carpe_Diem (8/5): Good location - The location is fantastic. Free wifi and good Internet connection. There are a lot of casinos and eateries around here - by walking. Room is spacious, hairdyer is available. Amenities is provided - if you want quality shampoo, conditioner and shower gel - bring your own or you can always near the hotel (walking distance)
- Joseph (10/5): - Staff were friendly and quick. Received an upgrade on this visit.
- Lit Choong (8/5): Enjoyable and accessibility is good. - The hotel is centralised and accessible to many facilities. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall enjoyed my stay there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent hotel room. Good staff service. It would be great if the staff could speak good English. Breakfast Menu can be improved.
- Wing Kai William (2/5): Not match with photo image - Vacation
- Eric (8/5): - This hotel is a bit older and caters mainly to tourists visiting from the Chinese mainland. However, I have stayed there a few times and it is fine - especially in relation to the price. Also, it is very convenient to some of the larger casinos.
- Siu Unk Betty (6/5): Hotel in Macau - Facilities is dated and need renovations
Cleanliness need to be improved especially washroom with stains
It’s more a hotel for PR Chinese as front desk English level is very limited
- Ferdinand (8/5): Adequate - The hotel is decent and rooms a adequate and very quiet. A bit dated, but was perfect for our one night stay and the breakfast was nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is OK. Breakfast offers fair varieties. Furniture and room decor are old.
- Verified traveler (8/5): emperor hotel for family vocation - The location could reach the places of interest easily. Free shuttle bus is provided from the hotel to the ferry terminal. in general, the service is good. However, the wifi is not great in the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff is nice and helpful but the bus scheduel to ferry is litter bite
- DeXTeR080808 (2/5): Good Location but spoiled by the horrible cleanliness in room. Would not go back after this stay. - Where do I start? I have stayed here before and the room I usually book or prefer are Non-Smoking Rooms. But this time, I was told that there were only smoking rooms available which I absolutely detest since the smoke is in the sheets and carpets. Last time I stayed, the room seem to have been better and newly furnished and brighter. This time, it seemed like an old dingy basement room with stains all over the carpet. Not sure what those orange stains were. There was barely any lighting in the room. Even the bathroom was outdated with black mold in various places, shower knobs missing the "hot" cover for the knob. The roof of the bathroom was rusted. The ceiling had stains. I was utterly disappointed. The only saving grace is the location with the Grand Lisboa right around the corner. The breakfast was also a disappointment. The dim sum was cold and was never re-filled for the 45 minutes I was there. I kept on waiting for some more shrimp dumplings, but they never came. The bacon was under cooked. Not much of a spread at all. I would recommend against one of the smoking rooms. Maybe the smoking rooms have not yet been newly furnished because they get trashed anyways. Maybe the non-smoking rooms are better. But I would suggest you look at other options in Macau.
- P (6/5): - The pillow are not comfortable. Staff are friendliness. Overall OK.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I like B&B.
I did not like no shuttle bus to airport.
- Albert (6/5): - Location is good
- Carlo (4/5): - Please make sure your booking name exactly same with your passport name! Otherwise, their staff would stop you to check in and treat it as “No Show”!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location is convenient, overall the hotel is a bit old
- Tina (8/5): - I liked it because it was an individual hotel and felt like we were in China, hard to communicate because the staff do not understand English
- herwanderlustlens (8/5): Value for money - Stayed here for a night. It is an old hotel but the rooms are satisfactorily well-maintained. The room price is also always much cheaper than other hotels nearby.
Room is spacious and equipped with fridge and minibar.
Walking distance to numerous locations in city centre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good hotel. - All very good condition. Close to senado square and lots of tourist area. Very great service and fast check in and check out.
- tish (8/5): good family suite for 4 people - For the price, I think this hotel is a good choice, Sure, their morning buffet is not that great and the elevators smell of cigarettes even though no one is smoking, but it is in the heart of the city and the room itself for a family of 4 is good and spacious. They gave us 2 bananas, an orange, an apple and the usual complimentary coffees, teas, and water. I love the room because it is also divided into two (each with tv) so everyone can have privacy. It's easy to hail a cab, minutes walk from Lisboa (tip: take the shuttle of the airport to grand lisboa then walk to emperor hotel), minutes from bus terminal, and a looooooong walk to senado square and ruins of st paul. The shops are open for 24/7 and you can buy branded stuff, fruits, jewelries, and still near the hotel. There are a lot of casinos. The staff, needs improvement on their hospitality but they're not rude or anything...they are just not that friendly.
- 172hsinyic (2/5): ghetto hotel and area for ladies will never come back even if offered with prize - ok so i thought this is the emperor hotel i stayed in hk i was wrong
it’s like a cheap motel where air con is set to freezing cold 10 degrees
you can hear everyone talking outside your room those staff has no mentality to keep quiet
toilet odor is horrible
i bet sleeping in a tent is so much more comfortable
- Dibyne (10/5): Among the strategically located hotels in Macau Peninsula - This is the best deal that we found when we searched for family room/suite for our New Year vacation in Macau. The best in terms of comparison with other top hotels in terms of meal inclusion, strategic location, safety, and interiors. It is strategically located at the heart of Macau Peninsula, so it’s easy to locate. Very close to Starworld, and walking distance to old and new Lisboa hotel, Wynn, and MGM. The rate already included buffet breakfast at the Emperor Restaurant. The room was spacious, clean, complete with amenities, was provided with fruits, and mini bar with consumable items. Front office employees were articulate in English. The service elevator will require key card so it restricts the access to the higher floors to hotel guests only. This is hotel is highly recommended!
- FredrickTerrance (10/5): Very friendly and accommodating!! - We're a big family of 8 people and always wanted to stay together wherever we went. We planned for a holiday in Macau in Apr 2018 and booked a service apartment through Airbnb. The host of the apartment canceled our booking at the last minute and left us in dismay. Fortunately I got to book a family suite room at this hotel which can accommodate 6 adults. But the hotel staff were very accommodating and let us stay together. It gave us an experience of living in an apartment together. They not only helped us when we were expelled by our original host but also gave us an awesome experience. And to our expectations, the hotel service was great!. The front office staff were exceptionally helpful and happily answered to our questions. They also voluntarily helped us to get a big van to drop us at the ferry terminal at a very nominal cost. I will highly recommend to stay in this hotel if you are a family traveller. Though this hotel is not at the happening place and would need you to walk around, the experience and the services would make you ignore that aspect.
- claudiohermann (2/5): Would not recommend this hotel to non-smokers - Stay was disappointing. They did not reverse the credit card deposit. Rooms smell of cigarette smoke. We asked for non-smoking room. They put us, the first night, in a room on the 20th floor (2006 if I'm not mistaken). The room smelled musty, dusty, and cigarette. We complained, but they could only change our room the other day. Unfortunately the second room, on floor 19 (1924 if I am not mistaken) also smelled of cigarette smoke and dust - the advantage of this is that it had no mold. Our clothes are impregnated with the smell of cigarettes. The hotel has no windows. The air is renewed by the air-conditioning system and with it all the air is contaminated with the smoke coming from the rooms of smokers. To conclude I discovered that they did not reimburse my credit card. Unfortunately I only discovered this when the invoice arrived for me, now in April. Would not recommend this hotel to non-smokers.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There is a shower head in the bathroom but can’t turn on or is the shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): OK location. Can be better/cheaper - This location is close to the Casino area. If you are into gambling, that's good. Unfortunately, we are not. But at least it is walkable distance to main tourist area. Hotel facilities is simple without a swimming pool. Can be a bit cheaper for this quality. Receptionist is nice to help us check in earlier because we have a one year kid. That's help a lot.
- carloisip (8/5): Budget Friendly No Fuss Basic Hotel - If you're visiting Macau for a few days and just want a place to sleep and relax after a busy day of seeing the attractions Macau has to offer, then Emperor Hotel is a great choice!
We booked 2 Family Suites for 2 nights and it was a good experience. Cleanliness is okay, didn't felt gloomy or nasty at all (though the hotel is a bit dated compared to nearby ones), the restrooms were also well kept. The beddings are comfortable and our room was decently spacious. Breakfast was good though don't expect much of a variety. They have the basics covered like bread, bacon, eggs, sausages, and coffee and a bit of soup and noodles. The front desk personnel were helpful and weren't rude at all though they could improve.
Overall, our experience was great and would come back to this hotel if I would be back in Macau anytime soon, the only downside was that we were asked for a deposit of $1000HKD per room (for family suite) which caught us by surprise since it wasn't indicated in our booking slip.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good hotel, very pleasant - Hotel was near ferry terminal, but the shuttle bus only comes once every hour. We missed ours and had to wait a long time. Taxi queue was bad and would not be quicker!
I had trouble checking in because I did not include my middle name when booking and I had to call Expedia to ask them to resend booking confirmation with my middle name! So beware. Also had to pay a deposit in case we damage to remove items from hotel.
Apart from that hotel was OK without any drama.
- hip2b2 (6/5): Budget friendly but Basic - The Emperor hotel is excellently located in the center of the mainland Macau. It is near many restaurants and other larger hotel complexes with their assortment of entertainment and dinning options.
The facility is quite basic but is very cost effective and near the ferry terminal (making transfers cost effective).
- tham1974 (6/5): Emperor Hotel - Hotel room was big enough for 4 of us but there are small cockroach running on the wall. Sound proofing of wall was not that good, u can hear noises from the corrider. Surrouding there were not many eatery shop but u are surrounded by many top class casino.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Environment surrounding the hotel is good and quiet, room is clean and tidy. Smartphone provided by hotel is very convenient for us to go any itineraries.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Its location is good for folks to have activities around the area of know how taking the public transportation. Across the Main Street is Wynn and MGM but away from the central district.
- Nigel Nicholas (6/5): Hotel is decent but old - Very Pricey during peak periods like holidays and weekends.
Location is great if ona budget, it’s near the bigger hotels/casino however have cross a 2 major roads. It gets abit shady during the night.
Perfect for men’s entertainment but not so much for families. Lift are slow and hotel key cards needs an upgrade.
Sitting areas are extremely limited and often packed with tour groups. Area is accessible by walking but slightly in convinent via vehicle in view of tons of one way traffic.
Good side the restaurant on lvl 3 is a must try!
Never get the spare beds, uncomfortable unless u like rock beds.
Limited free bottled water, unlikely other hotel competitors.
Poor bell boy services.
Overall a 3star budget hotel experience with slightly better living conditions.
Decent stay but room for improvement :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): hotel is worth the price. - Overall it is okay. Hotel staff are friendly. Location not bad, just that a bit difficult to get taxi.
- eunesckyle (6/5): Vacation - We stayed at the emperor for 3 days last sept 6 until the 9th. Rooms were adequately sized but musky smelling and dusty. If you have allergic rhinitis from dust, i would suggest to look somewhere else. Staff wasnt particularly helpful with foreigners especially when hailing for a taxi. The walls were thinly insulated and you can hear the conversations from the next door. The mobile hotspot device is a nice touch especially when finding your way around the city. Conveniently located in the middle of the city where shops and casinos abound. Price is a bit steep for a 3star hotel.
- kellywobaby (10/5): Recommended - Excellent experience. The location is perfect. You can easily find a lot of restaurants and casinos near by this hotel. Room attendants are nice. Mini bar is free of charge. Continental breakfast in the lounge is just fine.
- beliciaw (4/5): Would not be coming back - I stayed for one night and booked the room through Agoda. Since the room was booked for a Sunday night, the price was reasonable.
However, upon checking in, one of the GSA (guest service agents) mid-checking in, picked up a phone call and then abruptly passed me on to another GSA to check in on his behalf without much explanation. I personally thought that was really rude.
The room itself was alright. I noticed the shower curtain was moldy and there were pen marks / black spots on the sheets and bedding. One of the most mind-boggling thing I noticed in the room was a sign that read that our hotel room was worth $6000 (MOP) per night. That's a joke, like... why did they fill the need to put that up there? and personally, not worth $6k.
Also, the wi-fi was very unstable. I had to rely on the hotspot from the mobile phone the hotel provided in each room, thank goodness for that.
When I went to check out, the lady who did all the procedures did not say a word, did not look me in the eye at any point and then just threw my credit card slip on the table. I was so confused but thank goodness I worked at a hotel before so I knew what that slip was for (pre-authorizations to hold your CC if anything happened). This encounter with her was the worse. She wasn't wearing a name tag so I can't tell you who she was but seriously? never going back.
- Bobby (8/5): Very good location - Lack of communication. Most of the staff do not speak english
- Verified traveler (6/5): so cool... - so cool...
- Sean P (10/5): Great Hotel For a Business Trip - This is my 3rd stay at the Emperor in 3 months.
I Always look forward to staying here, because it kind of feels like home now when I come to Macau for Business.
I am always treated very well and in a very friendly manner. If there is availability, I usually get a room upgrade.
The rooms are Very Spacious, clean and quiet.
Looking forward to my next stay later on this month.
- Verified traveler (10/5): macau weekend with friends - Stayed at the Emperor for a couple nights with 3 of my friends. We arrived via the ferry from HKG. The hotel did not have a shuttle service ready and waiting at the docks like the other big hotels so we hitched a ride with the StarWorld hotel shuttle since they were apparently just across the street. It took us a while to find the hotel though since they were not along the main road, but the by the side street beside the Pharao's Palace Casino (hint: search for the signage that reads Emperor's Sauna). Note that there is a "Grand Emperor Hotel" which is a different hotel altogether.
Check in was quick and easy since I prepaid via hotels.com. We availed of the Family suite which was spacious and comfortable, and had all the basic amenities like the fridge, water heater, and a tv in each room. a nice touch was the free to use mobile phone that came in handy for going online and using maps to find our way around.
the hotel itself is about 15-20 minutes walk from the famous Macau attractions like the Grand Lisboa, Senado square, St. Paul cathedral, etc. If you fancy local food fare, there's an abundance of small restaurants and kiosks in the area, plus a couple of supermarkets if you need to buy anything.
- Sean P. (8/5): Home feel - Visiting Macau for business. Great reasonably priced hotel and comfy hotel within a 3 minute walk from the office.
Excellent location.
Tons of places to eat.
Clean, safe and good for walking around with parks and walking paths.
Be sure to have the address/hotel card in Chinese for the Taxi Driver, as they do not really recognize the English.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location. - Very good location, walking distance to Casinos in the old city. Hotel did not have available the room we requested, so they upgraded us to a better room. Staff helpful..
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient and good in general except for the WiFi - Good in general but the WiFi was not stable and line drop all the time. I had purchased a pre-paid sim for my internet access due to the poor WiFi connection
- YI CHING (8/5): - It's nearby the supermarket and casino
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient and quiet hotel - The stay was great. Hotel is in a busy area but it is quiet in the hotel.
- Rosalia (8/5): - Stay was good except for the inconvenience of charging the whole amount of room through credit card even if you have already paid in full.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was quiet nice to stay on that price. But the sauna in the hotel wasnt for family. I saw lots of h**kers especially in the late. watch out
- Ng (8/5): - Not so convenience for free bus service.
- john (8/5): Good hotel conviently located in centre of city. - Visited Macau for GP and hotel was ideally situated close to Lisboa and within walking distance to paddock area. Many restaurants around hotel area and accessible to old town area for sightseeing. Sands, MGM, grand Lisboa and many other casinos close by. Overall hotel good value..
- ming yau (6/5): - Not very friendly front desk. Seemed very short handed and need to wait for long on both check in and out
A piece of advise ., avoid travel during weekend or china holidays day. It is simply very squeezed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Although we had a couple of little things go wrong on arrival, staff were very quick to respond and fix them. Although not immediately close to the centre, we found it good for being central to doing the recommended walking trails. It was only 10-15 minute walk to most places we wanted to visit. Plenty of eating places close by, and a 7/11. Nice comfortable, clean place to stay.
- Nicholas (8/5): Convenient hotel in a good location - Good location. Near to large casinos.
- Ming Yau (2/5): - reception attitude is bad
room promised to be non smoking but is a smaoking room
room carpet is dirty. it is not well clean
service in the restaurant is bad
- Erol (10/5): - It was a nice hotel we enjoyed the stay with my girl-friend.
- Ron (6/5): - Staff service attitude not very good. Breakfast no good.
Room quality satisfactory.
- slalvinteh (8/5): Nice hotel close to Wynn - 5 min walk to Wynn Hotel & Casino 15 min to Ruins of St. Paul's. And great the room is come with a smart phone to provide free internet service.
- Desmond (6/5): Good for cheap stay - Average hotel stay. Many similar standard hotel around.
- richard (4/5): Save area - It need 40 min to wait for check-out.. It smells smoke all in The hotel and
- Rafael (10/5): great breakfast for a Family - great breakfast for a Family
- Harold (10/5): Hong Kong yrip - Beautiful city
- Verified traveler (8/5): good price for a short stay - staffs were good. there is free wifi but does not work so well. anyway, good price for a short stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): good location and good hotel. - nice hotel
- Zpini (6/5): Good location, yet hotel needs to improve - Looked for a budget hotel in the center of the peninsula. The location turned out to be perfect. Safe even at late hours of night. In room you get all the small needed things including mini fridge, kettle and slippers. The room was clean, though as expected somewhat outdated.
But the hotel has many things that need improving: Smelly closet, hard bed, shabby ironing board and AC blows in smoke from other rooms. WiFi signal was poor and kept disconnecting.
- Jerry (10/5): Good place to stay for a couple of days... - It was very pleasant close to where we wanted to go.. And it's convenient since you can leave your stuff when u check out and shuttle service to ferry
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Value for money with central location in Macau Peninsula
- Caroline (6/5): Ok stay - Bar fridge did not have sprite. We asked if we could change coke. Beer for more water since we don't drink either and they said they can't do that. Breakfast very average. Room was very good. Most the staff don't understand English.
