Personal stinkt unfreundlich kein english kein deutsch nichts. Die Zimmer drecksloch. Toiletten stinken aus den Rohren. Keine festen Türen im Badezimmer. Eckelhafter Gestank nachts. Sehr sehr laut.

- Neda (9/5): definitely recommend and we will chose it again - staff were very nice and kind. The lady called Yuliya who make us lovely breakfast .
She was an angel. She was help me with my kids during 5 days I stayed there. My kids love her and they wanted to spend time with her . She was kind and helpful. location was perfect and our room was massive. Just remember the don't have Iron :)
- Sheila (1/5): i don’t recommend this hotel especially if you are plannin to stay as a family. very rough area. many clubs around and v - nothing bad area, not good for families. very noisy
- Kazi (2/5): Very poor -
- Burcu (8/5): Very good - the receptionist who worked ok night shift he was very friendly and respectful the cleaning lady
- Filip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Syed (7/5): location is very good; breakfast is very bad and serving lady have bad behavior - location is very good, breakfast is very bad and serving lady have bad behavior location
- Faton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maksim (8/5): Everything is fine - great location, comfortable room and friendly staff problems with sewer smell from shower drain. a bit noisy because there is a night club downstairs.
- Sharma (10/5): BEST PLACE TO STAY IN ISTANBUL EVERYTHING IS IN WALKING DISTANCE EVERYTHING - The staff was amazing! I accidentally left my phone when I was coming from the airport. I asked for help from the night staff member, who is a bit older. He went above and beyond—he called all his connections, helped me get back to the airport, talked to the security, explained the situation, and we even checked the CCTV. In the end, I got my phone back, which was pretty crazy! I cannot really pick anything that I don't like there..
Amazing beautiful room with a small balcony.
The toilets were nice and clean.
But they did not have any locks, which is ok did not bother us much
- João (8/5): Very good - Dispite the staff not speaking English, they make the effort to comunicate with you. They’re all lovely and kind. Really great staff! The hotel is modern, rooms are great and clean and spacious. Location, can’t get better.
- Haylee (8/5): Very good -
- Enkhtushig (4/5): Disappointing -
- Alex (1/5): Bad - Worst experience ever. The staff is rude, the rooms are not properly cleaned. The kitchen is discusting Worst experience ever. The staff is rude, the rooms are not properly cleaned. The kitchen is discusting
- Ryan (2/5): Avoid. - The bed is comfortable. The gym facilities are broken and we had to spend money to sign up with a nearby gym instead. The treadmill kind of works, but there are hardly any weights and the ones that are there are rusty and dangerous to use. The cable machine offers lat pulldowns. All other exercises can’t be done due to it being broken. I mentioned this tonte gym via Booking and they refused to compensate or even accept my complaint. Booking was great and offered compensation on the hotel‘s behalf.
The hotel is right next to a very loud night club, which is kept out of all the photos of the exterior.
Should’ve guessed there was something wrong when the hotel staff, upon my arrival, showed me a Google translate screen on their phone that said: „After you check in there is no refund“. I thought that was a weird welcome greeting, but you live and learn.
I have been in 4-5 star hotels for this price and this is just a joke. Don’t be fooled by very promising photos that make it look like a luxurious stay. It’s not.
- Shamison (6/5): Pleasant - Close to istikal Very noisy at night
- Tolga (9/5): I would recommend and stay again if the noise problem is not there in a different room - Very good location very friendly professional staff The air fans outside my room made abit to much noise it does effect your sleep somewhat but im not sure if theres the same issue in every room
- Bartholomew (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anni-loo (3/5): Poor - Good value for money, nicely decorated room Staff did not speak any English.
The area is very unsafe for single women at night next to nightclubs and has a similar vibe as the red light district in Amsterdam.
- Logan (10/5): Perfect cozy little hotel in Beyoglu - Wonderful, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, great location center of Nevizade No complaints!
- Ranj (7/5): Good - Their location Rooms are small
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheida (6/5): It was good but Aylin she was very friendly, she helped us a lot -
- Farshad (2/5): Very poor -
- Krzysztof (5/5): Comfy... - The room was very clean and nice. Every part of the room was perfect!
A comfy bed, full amenities etc....Very pleasant receptionist, good breakfast.
I WOULD GIVE THE HIGHEST SCORE, BUT.....if you come to the hotel - you want to sleep and rest. It was impossible due to the NOISE coming from the nearby night club...even earplugs did not help. If you want to rest during the weekend it is not a good place Noise, noise and noise....It was impossible to rest and sleep. It started at 10 PM and finished at 6 AM when the night club was closed. It was Saturday so I hope that on other days it is worth staying there.
- Yalda (3/5): Poor -
- Omar (10/5): The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast lay was so friendly felt like home - The staff and location Cleanness
- Sergei (9/5): Superb -
- Drasko (8/5): Very good -
- Ammar (7/5): Good - Location great , breakfast good Very small rooms, elevator very tiny
- Abayneh (3/5): Poor -
- Andrei (10/5): Best accommodation for a vacation with friends - The room was equipped with everything we needed, bathroom essentials, water heater and others. Everyday the cleaning lady would come to clean the room and bring fresh towels. The breakfast was enough to begin the day and Aylin was great! The location of the hotel turned out to be very good, as it was close to anything you could need, such as ATMs, grocery stores, restaurants and so on.
- Amy (1/5): No sleep hotel - The room was ok but small for 4 people. Not adequate towels. Right next door to a night club, no sleep and breakfast served too late to be able to eat it. (08.00 am)
- Reza (7/5): Good -
- Corinne (6/5): A good cheap stay in the thick of the action. - The rooms are clean and as pictured, they have everything you could need in them. The hotel is located close to all the attractions and nearby bars. A cheap budget stay. We were concerned about potential noise as per other reviews, and it is loud, but that means you're in the thick of the action, which was good for us. We packed ear plugs and slept totally fine, you can hear music from nearby bars but I wouldn't say it was shaking through the hotel during our stay.
- Mehjabin (9/5): Stunning hotel close by to Taksim square (5 min walk) with quiet hosts who don’t bother you much. - Beautiful decor; has lifts & areas to chill and eat. Stunning rooftop dining. Very winding staircases that need handrails. Steps need hi vis strips to prevent falls. Bathrooms need locks. Very noisy nightclub next door & loud events every-night until 4am. The balcony doors are unsafe and loose on the hinges which is an accident waiting to happen. Please mend these doors in room 301 because i fear a child could get crushed if the heavy tall doors break off the hinges and fall back when being opened.
- Taimoor (7/5): Overall a good stay. - Hotel staff is very nice, specially Aylin and Erdem. Lack of amenities
- Same (8/5): Very good - We love the location and erderm is really nice n helpful aryan lady is so kind n smiling face give us good energy
- Abdulaziz (4/5): Disappointing - Some rooms have smell, at the beginning they gave a bad room then i had to change it.
There is ants. Zhe stuff was rude.
- Faizan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thayllon (10/5): Great location - Great!
Good traditional breakfast, the entire team are very friendly and helpful, I definitely recommend.
In the heart of Taksim The cleaning could improve especially under the bed and sofas.
- Muzhgan (1/5): AVIOD and save yourself the headache and your money - Nothing!! Avoid it!! The worst hotel ever!! Don’t get deceived by the pictures Please avoid this place!!! It’s not even 1 star!!
1. They give us a small double room with a sofa bed which was very uncomfortable. And when we asked reception, they couldn’t speak English and got angry and rude in their own language and we could not communicate with them.
2. There was no electricity in our room for two days. When we complained to reception they spoke to us in Turkish which we don’t understand and they did not resolve the issue, there was no AC, no hot water and I had to shower my kids with cold water for the two days.
3. I booked a room with breakfast because I had kids with me and did not want to spend extra on breakfast and hotel breakfast was two type of cheese and some dried bread which was not edible. I had to pay extra to go and have breakfast outside which cost me 1600 lira every morning which is total to 11,200 lira.
4. There was no room service and we were stuck in a dirty room and no cleaning was done.
5. Hotel is right next to a nightclub and the windows are broken and we couldn’t sleep all night because of the noise. The window was a big risk as I had little children and the room was on 4th floor and I was anxious and scared of my children falling and was not at ease at all. The window had no child safety locks.
6. The room had bedbugs and my daughter was in so much pain because of the itchiness and had a reaction and insect bites all over her body. We had to take her to the doctor to get her checked.
Overall, I had a terrible stay at this hotel. We paid for a 4 star hotel and this hotel is not even 1 star and I am request for a partial or full refund for my stay at this hotel as I had an extremely bad experience and was not able to sleep at all.
- Amal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malak (7/5): Good -
- Sal (6/5): Adequate - The place was fine. It is situated in the nightlife district of Istanbul. The loud music well into the wee hours of the morning thumping all night was very unpleasant. Unless you like to stay up dancing in these venues until 6am in the morning, I would not stay there again because of the noise.
- Kapil (1/5): Bad -
- Louise (10/5): Great location, clean and comfortable room - Location is very central. Aylin was very helpful at breakfast each morning. The room was spacious and clean. It was cleaned everyday and they provided us with water and fresh towels daily. The accomadation is affordable and this makes up for the fact it’s next to a nightclub which can be noisy. Didn’t bother us but it is located in an area with lots of nightclubs which play music nearly all night but we are deep sleepers so it didn’t affect us.
- Reza (7/5): Good -
- Ulviyya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anastasiia (9/5): Perfect location near Taksim - The owners are super helpful even if they don’t speak English, they helped us a lot. Very kind people. Breakfast was ok, but could be better. The music of a night club that you can hear from hotel, not too loud, but you can hear
- Teona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ayas (7/5): Good - Neighborhood is a bit congested.
- Ammous (1/5): Bad - Its not clean, we found a mouse and insects in our room
- Ikbal (10/5): Very nice hotel! - I love the breakfast of Aylin! She says every day goodmorning and is very friendly. The rooms are clean (thankyou Rayhan) and the staff was very nice (thankyou Emre). Thankyou for everything. I really recommed this hotel.
- Seker (8/5): Very good - Comfy and modern rooms, good cleaning service and was very close to Istikal Street. The buffet breakfast was limited (only had few cheese selections, bread was cold, some olives and some cold chips).
- Kreshnik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kübra (10/5): Exceptional - It was very nice holiday and staff was amazingly host me and my family.
- Raei (4/5): Disappointing - The room was standard
Near downtown The staffs could not speak English.
The location of hotel is near some discos with a lot of noise
The breakfast was not good at all
- Kelly-marie (6/5): Modern Good Location, but service needs improving..... - Modern decor throughout, cool interior room design. Nice lighting. Lovely big comfortable bed, nice mattress. Big TV at end of bed with cool mirror on reverse. Large room with balcony (Room 302).
Good location near Taksim Square & main shopping High Street with plenty of cobbled side roads full of restaurants & bars. An easy walk to Galata Tower area. Staff didn't speak English.
Room wasnt cleaned at all during our 5 day stay (arrived Monday 18th checked out Friday 22nd) so full bins & no towel change.
Funky smell from bathroom drains on arrival but it wore off after a few days or we got used to it.
Only 1 Bath Robe given for 2 people. Only 1 Shower Mitt for 2 people.
Cheap poor quality shampoo & body wash.
Cheap poor quality tea & coffee sachets (instant Nescafe)
Felt like you paid on arrival then no further service given after that.
- Dyli (8/5): Very good - It was nice hotel in really good area I didn’t like that fridge was not working, and the TV also was not working. All the rest was fine.
- Mohammadi (5/5): Passable - Fresh, clean, simple but cozy hotel. Personel were friendly but they did not speak english, which was a problem.
The breakfast was simple but enough good. A kind of drainsmell disturbed most of the time in the room although the toilet was clean.
It was impossible to sleep at nights because of a night club just beside of the hotel building.
- Levan (1/5): Bad - Room is not small Avoid this place. No view, too loud, no cleaning, staff does not speak english and not friendly
- Sabina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malika (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Eyla - the breakfast lady and Emre at the reception desk. Thank you, guys!
- Daniel (8/5): Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Really great stay. Istanbul is a beautiful historic city. - Fantastic hotel. Extremely stylish and comfortable. A real boutique feel. Very well appointed. In a great position for local colour and attractions. Staff are very helpful (with the aid of google-translate) Only real downside is as stated in other customer reviews: the hotel is next door to (joined onto) a nightclub which is very noisy at night.
- Hassan (9/5): it is a boutique hotel with warm staff - The Staff are really kind Khalil and Emrah. They try to do anything they can. The breakfast lady is really kind and warm person. the noise around the hotel
- Ahmed (1/5): Staff extremely disrespectful and do not take responsibility for their broken facilities. - There was nothing to like about this hotel. -Facilities and staff behavior was very poor. Staff was extremely disrespectful, when toilet bidet broke the only response they gave was "don't break it". When we try to talk to them they told us to speak Turkish, when I obviously don't. Wifi was very poor and when we complained about this their response was "others don't complain why do you?.
Staff did everything to take the blame away from them and remove responsibility form them and blame the customer. I stayed for only 1 night but apparently I broke the facilities and should not be asking for decent WiFi because everyone else isn't. It is impossible to say anything to them without them trying to blame you and make you shut up and feel bad for trying to have a decent stay. If you stay at Hotel Balo you are the problem for everything and the hotel is not at fault for anything, don't bother trying to improve your stay.
Breakfast was inadequate, did not have many simple things like butter, which was handed to us as a cold brick, there wasn't even pepper for us but there was salt put on-top of an ashtray. Did not have a good meal.
The toilet door was basically see through, and the shower door is missing. I have proof of this. This is very inappropriate and should not happen in a hotel. Unacceptable. You cannot even go to the toilet with some privacy. We had to use the bed cover on the door to hide ourselves. Other basic things like having an iron at the hotel is also non existent here. So do not expect your stay to be easy. We arrived at the airport without ironed clothes.
Room was also not very clean, bedding was not clean, bed was tough and uncomfortable and windows leaking cold into the room at night. We did not try to tell the staff about this because we knew the staff will only try to shut us up and avoid responsibility for their broken rooms. We went for only half a day and this is what we were greeted with. Very poor behavior and service.
- Hamid (7/5): Good -
- Robin (1/5): STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!! - NOTHING!!! The worst travel experience I have had with a hotel;
1) Nobody at the hotel spoke english.
2) No coffee maker in room only a kettle with instant coffee and powdered creamer
3) No airport transfer available.
4) On my departure they were un able to get me a taxi - after waiting almost 1 hour I hauled my luggage to a side street and easily found a taxi myself.
5) The hotel is listed as having soundproof rooms, this was not the case, AND there is a night club at the base of the building that played VERY LOUD music until 4am
6) See photo's attached:
- the view out my window was supposed to be a garden view, instead it was a gate and utility equipment
- I am very accustomed to european sheets and duvets, there were no sheets on the bet, rather a comforter and I am not sure it was very clean.
- There were a variety of items stored in the halls and stair cases. cleaning supplies etc.
- The fitness room, when I asked where it was I was at first told that there was not one however once I showed it listed on their site the young man showed it to me - it was quite dirty and also things stored in the room , including a dirty pair of man's pants with belt. the equipment is quite old.
- Same situation with the sauna, told there wasn't one then when shown - it is used to store linens and other things and was not accessible.
- Breakfast, this is the most disgusting of all. I was the first person up there, the coffee was also instant, the room was very dirty and also used for storage. the food looked as it had ben there for days, the dishes were crusty and dirty, the meat and cheese were dried out, even the olives were dry, I didn't touch a thing, afraid it would make any human ill.
- Ilmira (9/5): Superb -
- Gurvinder (7/5): Good - Beautiful comfortable room. The area was noisy, although muted by double glazing. Very busy and lots of nightlife around!
- Anonymous (4/5): Wish we knew that breakfast photos were fake - Room was clean Breakfast was the most horrendous one, bread was in a bag, hidden away. Only get if you ask for it and you need to take it out, no eggs , asked for butter and the lady scrapped few pieces off a big lump of butter and gave it, no juice, no jam and even eggs hidden away. Had to ask for everything
- Ghali (1/5): Bad -
- Hodo (2/5): The staff were very friendly and helpful with their work ethic during our stay in the hotel and even when beyond of thei - The property is located high street shops, restaurants and metro I wish I knew there was a club next to the property and I would not have booked but anyways you learn through life experience
The property is good for young youth night out lifestyle
- Dhabia (9/5): The staff very friendly and the location very good inside istiklal street -
- Cristina (1/5): The worst ever. - The receptionist doesn’t speak English, in my opinion in a 4 stars hotel they must do.
The rooms were not so clean and the noice was exhausting.
- Paul (10/5): Staff was super friendly and very accomodating 😊 - The location was right in the middle of town, very convenient for Taksim.
- Danny (8/5): Very good - Thank you for the nice service and smooth check-in. The hotel is close to downtown.
- Billy (8/5): Amelyia in the restaurant is great! - Centrally located. Very clean, modern and nice staff We’re there for 3 days but did t receive any housekeeping. In all fairness we turned down the housekeeper the first day, it was a little supposed when they didnt come back the next day. But it was t a big deal
- Qureshi (8/5): First visit to Turkey - Location is ideal. Just 4 minutes walk to Istaklal Street. The staff was very cooperative especially Ahmed who helped us in every problem we faced since this was our first visit. Aleyn (Chef) was very kind and served us with our required breakfast. Lots of night clubs around so it was a bit noisy till 4 am.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Modestas (9/5): Perfect stay in a nice hotel - Great location, very well run hotel. Good breakfast, nice size cozy room. and above all- friendly and helpful staff.
