• Rashmi (8/5): - Beautifully decorated room, very elegant, extremely comfortable bed, friendly and helpful receptionist, hot shower, very walkable neighborhood. It's more like private apartments than a standard hotel, so funny expect a lively lobby area. Only downside was that the housekeeping needs to improve. We found trash in the trash can from the previous guest, and the bathroom cabinets very dirty inside, with hair, something that was never fixed even in the next day's cleaning.
• Maryam (8/5): - Great location, extremely helpful and nice staff. My only complaint was the cleanliness. The showers had mold in them and the drain had not been cleaned and was full of hair so it was not draining.
• James (10/5): A lovely hotel - We stayed in one of the family rooms for 2 nights as a base to tour the city. We arrived around 3:30pm and were greeted by Camille who was very friendly. He helped with our bags, gave us plenty of information on areas to visit, how to get there and also great places to eat that were not tourist traps. Our room was large, clean and had a lovely set of covered balconies that looked over a square. Plenty of tea and coffee with an nespresso machine which was unexpected and an added bonus. Water was also provided. The bathrooms were clean and water hot. Some wear and tear to the bathroom but not in any way to affect cleanliness. Air con was adequate. There is coffee and pastries available in the morning but we did not stay for that. The hotel felt very safe and secure. The hotel is in walking distance to the subway and buses and main shopping areas. Using the free now app, we had no problems arranging a taxi outside of the hotel to get further afield. It was an easy walk back from Sagrada Familia, taking only 20 minutes. I would not hesitate to stay here again and have recommended it to family and friends.

• Steve (10/5): Recommended for families - A very nice boutique hotel in an ideal location right in the heart of the city. The family room was very well suited for our family of four with two children 10 and under - although a door between the two rooms would have made it perfect. The rooms and bathroom were clean if not spotless (in particular there were a number of scuff marks on the walls) and the twin balconies were great for relaxing away from the heat of the sun and very quiet considering the city centre location. The highlight of our stay however was the service from the manager / receptionist (whose name I shamefully forgot to ask) - he couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful in making recommendations for how to make the most of our short stay in a city with so much to offer, nor in helping with our luggage and arranging for us to leave it securely after checkout so that we could collect it on the way to the airport.

• Edward (8/5): - Perfect location Violette Boutique is a charming hotel located in the centre of Barcelona. Although there were no amenities like a pool, the staff welcomed us warmly upon arrival and offered excellent support throughout our stay. Our room on the third floor was comfortable and overlooked the street. We took the Aerobus from the airport to Plaça de Catalunya and walked three blocks to the hotel. Nearby attractions include Casa Mila, shopping districts, and many restaurants, making it an ideal base for exploring the city on foot.

The room had a little wear at tear (particularly in the bathroom) but it was tastefully decorated and clean. Given the location, it wasn't super quiet but it wasn't noisy either. I would absolutely stay there again.

• Jiyoung (10/5): - We were traveling with our two teenage kids, so we were looking for a room with four beds—and this hotel turned out to be a perfect fit for us. Since there's no staff on site 24/7, make sure to check whether someone will be available around your check-in time. The elevator is very small and stops between floors, so you might need to carry your luggage up or down a few stairs. Although they said breakfast isn’t included, there were some simple options like bread and drinks, which was a nice touch (we had to leave early, so we didn’t get to try it). On our last day, a staff member named Camille (not sure about the spelling) helped us check out, and he was the kindest person I met during my time in Spain. Thank you!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Very nice and helpful staff! The location was great. You have to go through two locked doors to get to the hotel so it felt very safe. Only concern was the lock and door to the hotel room. It was quite flimsy and didn’t feel secure enough. There was a mini fridge and safety box in the room. Beds were very comfortable, towels felt nice and we didn’t notice any sounds from the street outside! The walls between the rooms were quite thin however so we could hear the other guests. The cleaning was ok but we did notice the mini fridge wasn’t cleaned and the lights next to the bed were covered in dust. Floors were very dirty and we found little things like hair ties from previous guests just lying on the floor. Felt a bit icky. I would consider staying here again!

The only issue I had was the lock on the door. It’s not a deadbolt. It has an entry lock and anyone can easily pry the lock and enter. Even though it seemed safe there , it would have me feel a little more secure if it had a dead bolt and safety lock on the door. Camille (front desk) was very pleasant and very helpful. Showing spots to eat and sightsee.

• Verified traveler (10/5): What a find!! - My daughter and I loved the Violeta. The entrance is eccentric- it feels like you are stepping into an early 20th century office building. Our room was large and quiet with a sweet balcony, the bed was comfortable, and the Eixample location just next to El Born and The Gothic Quarter- couldn’t have been better.

We arrived early and even though the room wasn't ready we could drop our luggage off and head out to explore for a bit. We stayed in a family room (my wife, two kids and myself) that was perfect, comfy beds and air conditioning, we had a lovely spacious balcony that we could use for breakfast (pastries and juice that was included) and in the evening for a few drinks after retiring from the Barcelona night. Would highly recommend this place, perfect spot for exploring the city!

Shopping streets are a 5 min walk, to the beach 20 min walk. The room was clean, a very beautiful room with a very comfortable bed. When we visit Barcelona again, I know where to stay!

La chambre familiale que nous avons eue est propre, agreable, la literie impeccable et la présence des 2 petites terrasses a été très appréciée. • M (10/5): - カタルーニャ広場から徒歩5分程の所にあってアクセス最高、部屋も清潔で、スタッフもとても親切です。シャワーは固定と手持ちの2種類使え、バスアメニティは、全身シャンプーと歯ブラシとドライヤーがあるので困りませんでした。 設備としては冷蔵庫はないのが、気になるくらいです。 アドバイス: チェックインは厳格で14時以降じゃないと部屋には入れませんが、荷物は預かってくれます。 一階の入り口は鍵が常にかかっているので、入口右の呼び鈴ボタンを押すと応答してくれ、チェックインしたいですと言うと開けてくれます。2階に受付があります。受付に人がいないと呼び鈴を押しても応答するまで時間がかかるので、何回か押して根気よく待つことが必要です。チェックイン後は鍵を貰えるので、呼び鈴を押す必要はありません。鍵は、部屋の鍵、セーフティボックスの鍵、入口の鍵、部屋の階の鍵の4種類が1束で渡されますので、しっかり管理してください。
• MAYA (10/5): コンパクトで清潔、インテリアが可愛い - シングルに滞在したので部屋はコンパクトでしたが、清潔でインテリアが可愛らしくて快適でした。 フロントの女性はフレンドリーで、鍵のシステムやバルセロナについて丁寧に説明してくれました。 立地もカタルーニャ広場に近く便利ですが静かで良かったです。 ロビー横に用意されている朝食のマフィンが意外に（失礼）美味しかったです。朝早めの出発だったので、軽く食べられて助かりました。 集合住宅の一部が宿泊施設になっていて看板も控えめなので、普通のホテルだと思って行くとフロントにたどり着くまでに戸惑うかもしれません。エレベーターを後からつけたのか、必ず何段か階段を使わないとフロントや部屋にたどり着けません。それもまた旅ならではの興味深い体験でした。

All the staff we met including Gaston and Andrea were always more than willing to help us and make sure we have everything we need. The coffee and muffins they served in the mornings was an added bonus we did not expect. It was good enough to get us started on our day of discovering Barcelona. The location was central, too! We just walked to most of everywhere we needed to be. We would stay here again without any hesitation.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Not easy to sleep. Poor breakfast. - U can hear the water coming down on pipes from the residence upstairs, you can also hear them talk. Very poor breakfast. It’s a coffee and small muffin.

• Dee (10/5): - Nice hotel. Very central to everything. You can walk to the main Catalunya Square easily. The room was bright and very clean. Everything was in order and the staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful and made us feel like nothing was to much to ask. Great hotel in a great location!
• Christine (10/5): - Lovely little gem very close to Plaça Catalunya I booked this hotel at very short notice, and during British Half-Term which drove prices upwards. The Violeta Boutique was a fantastic find - super central location, wonderful design, attentive hotel staff. Our room was huge with a beautiful covered balcony where we enjoyed the complementary tea and muffins in the morning. It all felt very safe. We would definitely return there.

(Only a small plaque to the side of the door) Staff were excellent and our room for a family of 4 adults was very spacious, shower was amazing!(more storage for clothes and another mirror would have been great) A fridge would have been amazing! If you are okay with a basic, clean, simple hotel with friendly staff, a complementary good cup of fresh coffee and fresh muffins (not sealed in plastic bag and kept for days) in the morning. This hotel is for you. My family and I that were out all day so we wee all fine with it.
• Tomoko (10/5): Super clean room ! - This is the nice area you will find a lot of small hotels or apartment hotels. It was a short walk to the airport bus stop and everything. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable also. I will book this place again for sure.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent in-town location. My expectations were higher because of the fees that Expedia adds on to the bill (I thought that it was more expensive than it is). The hotel receives less than what you pay to Expedia, so pay attention to the fee details when booking. I paid over 10% more by booking with Expedia. Still, it was the only hotel where we stayed in Spain and Portugal that charges for in-room tea and coffee. Other than that, the hotel --pension-- is stylish and clean and well-run. Coffee and magdalenas are offered in the morning. Parking is available nearby.
• Marvin (10/5): Violeta ... a great Spanish experience! - The stay was excellent! An architect bought three floors of an historic apartment building in the very heart of Barcelona five years ago, gutted them, and created a tiny boutique hotel. Violeta reception and registration is located on the second floor so guests enter the historic marble apartment foyer through a large grill door and use the stair or a tiny elevator to go up to reception and the rooms above. The hotel sign outside is TINY so have the street address handy. The hotel itself is cheerful, modern and trendy but retains the high ceilings and Continental ambience. Fresh flowers accent a public sitting room and there is a really lovely terrace where guests can enjoy a fabulous sugar muffin and delicious cup of fresh coffee in the morning. The excellent staff speak good English and are very kind and helpful. The modern plumbing provides good pressure and endless hot water. The internet is lightening fast and each room has a handy safe. The rooms were not as sound proof as I expected but noise was not an issue. The location could not be better ... everything from shopping and dining to attractions, the super Metro and the Aero Bus to the Airport is steps away. Although the hotel is quite a departure from what North Americans are used to, it was quite wonderful in my estimation and so much more unique than staying at a chain hotel. I recommend it!
• Tyler (4/5): Great staff with room for improvement - The lobby area and staff was amazing. However, the air-conditioning only worked for about 5 minutes even after talking to the staff multiple times. It was 26 C in the room each night (way too hot). The shower drain did not drain and the bathroom grouting was quite dirty. Finally, the building lobby (not their fault) had a terrible smell.
• Mark (10/5): - Service was great. Staff was friendly and helping. The room was very comfortable. Location is good - near many subway stations yet not busy.
• Burnybee (6/5): Great location close to the city centre. - The room I staying was small. Not much facilities were provided. But what I love about Violeta was they provided muffin and coffee/tea for free in the morning. You don't have to look for a breakfast place when you are in a rush in the morning.
• Susannah (10/5): Great accomodation - The room was clean and spacious. Staff were helpful. Nice and central. The pictures are accurate. Would happily stay here again.
• Anna (10/5): Perfect stay! - The hotel was close to everything so we could easily walk everywhere! Clean, spacious and a beautiful terrace. We had a family room with room for 4 and two full baths. Sara at the desk was an absolute sweetheart. Very helpful and so easy to talk to. Will definitely stay there again!!!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Pretty well ideal - Warmest welcome we can remember in any hotel, totally lovely. Grand room with balcony; and everything about the hotel very beautiful and pretty. Excellent facilities and spotless. Only a stone's throw from the Plaça Catalunya and a short walk to the Barri Gòtic; handy also for other areas (and for the metro - use nearby station Urquinaona). Doesn't do breakfast, but they do leave you a coffee and a muffin anyway. Wifi excellent. Strongly recommended.
• Brennan (10/5): - This place was awesome, we will definitely come back to stay. The staff was very helpful and there is patio that is great for hanging out or to get a little work done :) The location is great and is in walking distance to everything.
• David (8/5): Great small hotel in central location. - Great little boutique hotel only a few blocks from central plaza in Barcelona. We booked late so price more than expected at €200/night.
• friends (10/5): Perfect location in the centre. - Violeta is a quirky beautiful hotel right in the centre. Very helpful staff. When we arrived the receptionist showed bus/tube links to the must see areas of the city. We were going to take the bus tour but with this info bought a 3 day travel pass for the tube and bus which was perfect. In the mornings there were coffee, teas and fresh muffins to enjoy for free with a beautiful courtyard to sit in. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Quaint, Friendly - We liked this quaint boutique hotel. The location is convenient to tourist areas. We had a nice sized, quiet room. The hotel is on a few floors in an apartment building. The wifi wasn't very good on our floor. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. We enjoyed the muffins and coffee/tea in the morning and the pretty veranda everyone can use.

• Timothy (8/5): Convenient & Clean - 5-10 min leisure walk to Plaza Catalunya, convenient if coming via Aerobus. Clean room with daily housekeeping. Beds were comfortable. Mr Juan at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Only issue is, our room at the top level was extremely cold when we checked-in, it would be nice if the room was heated up a little ahead.
• Subodh (8/5): Great location - The location of the hotel is excellent for centre of Barcelona. Most places can be visited by walking or local transport.
• Larry (10/5): Larry's Spain Adventure 2016 - Stay was awesome. Only thing the hotel needs is safer showers. They were a bit slippery and hard to get into for us fat Americans Lol. Besides that staff was awesome and room was great.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great location, very nice staff, clean room! - We got there very early, like 8am from an overnight flight. Safe to say we were so very tired. Check in is normally 11am, but they let us in right away which was a life saver! The rooms were nice, totally sufficient and clean. The only complaint I had were the pillows are hard and so is the bed. Some people like this style, but for me, after a nice long sleep, my neck and back would get slightly sore. Other than this, great place to stay!
