Guest Reviews

- Amaro (10/5): - Staf miqesor. Shtepia ishte sipas pershkrimit, e kompletuar. Kishte ambient ku mund te kalosh darken me zgare.
- Valentyna (10/5): - Очень уютное место. Вид на море шикарный. Очень гостеприимные хозяева.С большим удовольствием посетим это место ещё раз. Рекомендую.
- Nagesh (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts, location, Value
- Alicia-gabriela (10/5): Exceptional! - Everything about this accommodation, including the hosts and their hospitality has been over the roof! We had such an incredible stay. Pero is simply an open book- if you want to find out about the surroundings- where to go, what to eat, what to see- he will inform you about everything (you don’t have to do any research before you go). I cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely return and wish all the best to the hosts! Thank you for everything you did for us- it has been an absolute pleasure!
P.S. if you see Paul 🐈 around- please give him some affection from us.
- Allan (10/5): Beautiful escape, lovely modern apartment - Brilliant from start to finish. Originally booked for 3 days but luckily there was availability to add another 3 days. Amazing hosts - friendly, helpful, generous and attentive. The view from the apartment and terrace is what makes a holiday! Close to lovely beaches and also Dubrovnik itself.
- Rivier (10/5): - I felt I needed a place like this. An oasis in de desert. You can rest in your own apartment, cook and feel Croatia. The host is kind and he gives you help if you need. He has good advices for traveling around the zone. There are some tips you need, and he has them. Nice view. Rent a car!
- Regan (10/5): - AMAZING!!! We cannot recommend this property enough. Pero and Doris were absolutely fantastic hosts and we were so sad to leave. From greeting us with a drink on arrival and giving us a small overview of the history of their country to the daily muffins left on our doorstep, our trip was magical from the moment we arrived. There is no doubt we will return at some point in the future. Thank you so much Pero and Doris for making us feel so welcome and we hope to see you again soon!
- Natalie (8/5): Great host - Fantastic accommodation. Hosts were exceptional. Fresh muffins left outside our room in morning, home made cherry liquor in our room, anniversary gifts and lifts into dubrovnik. View was gorgeous.
The property was difficult to find as there is no name sign. Up a lot of steps and would be more suitable with a car.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely apartment, very clean and comfortable in a very peaceful location. Extremely kind and helpful owners.
- Robert (10/5): Gem just outside of Dubrovinik - Booked the room the morning of arrival, but our hosts Doris and Pero were able to accommodate us. Upon arrival Pero opened a bottle of wine to share with us and provided bread and cheese. Inside the apartment was a bottle of cherry brandy and chocolates on the bedside table. The next morning, pastries were waiting on the balcony for our breakfast. The entire family was delightful and we look forward to a longer stay in the future.
The apartment itself is comfortable and large enough for two people. The view from the balcony is wonderful and exactly what you would expect on the Dalmatian coast. Be forewarned, the apartment is outside of the city 10-15 minutes by car and could be a little hard to find without GPS. There is an excellent pizza restaurant 5 minutes away (again by car), but the kitchenette is well stocked if you want to cook at home.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Worth it!! - Generally good, really worth what u pay for, the only thing is soud proof!! Be wakes up twice!!!!!! Hearing people talking in the hall way!!! Reception lady is very helpful and nice, breakfast is so good and detailed.
- Gloria (10/5): Great family guesthouse. - Great hospitality in a family guesthouse. Pero and Doris greeted us with welcome drinks and lots of good information for our visit to Dubrovnik. Location was a short drive out of town which is perfect because parking in the city is almost impossible. View from our room was beautiful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Way too far from attractions. We checked out one day early. Nothing around the property. Big mistake and it is way too expensive for being in the middle of nowhere. You can find many options in town and cheaper.
- Joaquin (10/5): - They were the best and nicest hosts we've ever had and we were sad to leave them. The property was beautiful and they took such good care of my wife and I. We cannot recommend staying with them enough as theyre a lovely couple with a beautiful property.
- hull (10/5): Comfy friendly stay - A lovely comfortable holiday apartment. Peter and Doris were great hosts and the area is stunning.
- James (10/5): A peaceful apartment with breathtaking views! - There are no negatives to report about our five day break at this property. Our apartment was beautiful with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a large and very comfortable bed and complimentary home made cherry liqueur which was delicious! On arrival we were welcomed with cold drinks and an informal chat about all the different things to do in the area. Doris gave us excellent advice about the cheapest and best places to park and eat, as well as how to avoid crowds in Dubrovnik Old Town. Every morning cakes and waffles were left for us and Pedro provided us with both grapes and wine made from his vineyard to sample. We made use of the full kitchen facilities so that we could alternate between eating out and cooking meals in the evenings. Nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely to know that if we needed any assistance with anything that Doris and Pedro would provide it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a relaxing five star holiday experience.
- Chuck (8/5): - Amazing property and view. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay here. It is a bit far from Old Town, but get there cheaply enough with Uber. Sit back and watch every turn is like a postcard.
- James (10/5): - Fantastic room travel a lot could be one of the best apartments yet. The view to the sea is breathtaking.
The apartments owners were just lovely. Could not have been more kind and helpful. Great location just outside Dubrovnik and the drive along that coast is as good as it gets. Highly recommended
- J (8/5): - Peter the host really took the time to make us feel at home. His tips for visiting Dubrovnik turned out to be a big help. It's really nice to have a host so sharing and embracing on arrival.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Amazing view - The apartment was gorgeous with a breathtaking view. Both Doris and Peter were friendly and helped us with recommendations about where to visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Village location with lovely hosts - We went out of season. The hosts were great. Doris picked us up from the airport. Her cherry brandy is great. The apartment was just what we wanted the bed v comfortable, the terrace great for morning sun and evening sun sets.
We walked all over the village -you need good shoes and knees as it is up and down.
The buses into Dubrovnik work well. The cruise ships are a pain but if you dive into the alleys you lose the crowds. The take away pizza from the next village was very good too.
- Chris (10/5): Great location and super hosts! - We have just returned from a wonderful two-week break in Dubrovnik. Doris and Pero were the incredibly helpful and generous hosts, and we were very spoilt with Doris's delicious baking! Their knowledge of the area is second-to-none and they are keen for you to see and experience the best of Dubrovnik and the surrounding area. The apartment and views from the apartment are stunning. We would recommend a stay in this beautiful apartment to anyone. Thank you so much Doris and Pero! X
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful hotel! - Most lovely stay! Peter and his wife were very comforting and always there when we needed. It was nice to be out of old town, very quite and relaxing stay.
- julie (8/5): Nice room and lovely owners. - Enjoyed our stay .nice cakes in the mornings and lovely wine in the evenings from peter the owner.little extras in the room when we arrived, orange juice ,etc.
- Paul (10/5): Fabulous stay - We stayed 7 nights at the Residence Island View and had a fantastic time. Doris and Pero are great hosts who made us feel very at home. We hated leaving! Spotless comfortable accommodation with beautiful views. Extra treats including breakfast pastries were much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble including booking trips and offering lifts. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return at some stage.
- Liz and Phil (10/5): Amazing views! Fabulous owners! - Our first visit to Croatia and what a wonderful place! Orasac is a very small, rustic village, perhaps more geared towards car drivers than walkers. It has wonderful views over neighbouring islands and "walkable" access to two lovely, albeit small, pebble beaches. The walking is on quite steep hills in places so you need to be fairly fit. Dubrovnik is an amazingly beautiful city just a local bus ride away. The cable car up the mountain is a must!
Doris and Pero, the apartment owners, are really lovely people and made us as welcome as we have been anywhere in the world. They gave us rides to the supermarket at the beginning of our holiday, daily cakes and pastries for breakfast and even got us tickets for the opening ceremony of the Dubrovnik summer festival and fireworks, which was fantastic! Go and experience the wonders of this great place! (Just remember your walking shoes if not hiring a car)
- Cristina (10/5): Lovely accommodations with great views and host - Residences Island View was a fantastic place to stay near Dubrovnik. The accommodations were spacious, including a large living area, small kitchen, separate bedroom, and lovely patio overlooking the sea. The proprietors were extremely welcoming and friendly, answering any questions we had about the area. They also provided many thoughtful amenities that made our stay even more enjoyable. In addition to being a 20 minute drive to Old Town Dubrovnik and a great launching point to various destinations throughout the region, we were able to walk 10 minutes or so down to the local beach and swim in the stunning sea on several days. We highly recommend Residences Island View (even though we worry by doing so it will be hard for us to get a reservation upon our return!) and hope to come back soon.
- Simone (10/5): Best Hotel Experience Ive Ever Had! - I have been thinking of writing this review since I left the Residences Island View apartments, and I am not sure I have the words to describe the amount of gratitude I have for my stay here.
Set in a beautiful location over looking the ocean, 11minutes from Dubrovnik by car and easily accessible by bus the Residences Island View is perfect for any length of stay.
I stayed in the Design Gallery apartment and was surprised when I walked in by how beautiful it was and how homely it felt. The bed was huge and comfortable, the shower had spa jets, and the apartment had everything I could need if I wanted to cook, relax or just sit on the balcony and stare into the ocean. And if that wasn’t enough, there was homemade Cherry grappa made by my hostess Doris, and fresh pastries every morning.
Aside form the excellent facilities I have to say what really made this hotel stand out above the rest was the service. Doris and Pero are two of the loveliest hosts imaginable and are really just great people. You are treated like an old friend throughout your stay and they are more than happy to try and go out of their way to help you if you need to go somewhere or if you need information on something.
When I arrived at the Hotel, I had had a terrible day and im so happy to have landed here. You will not find more welcoming people with such a high level of service and such nice accommodation anywhere. I will be returning to Residences Island View for many years to come.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice apartment - Although a lovely apartment, very clean, it should be noted that this would not be suitable for older/infirm people as the bedroom is upstairs and the stairs are unsafe, also it would be unrealistic to sleep up there as there is no air conditioning upstairs. We did have a pull out sofa bed in the kitchen area which we used as it was cool. The owners are the most lovely people, we were left fresh pastries every morning for breakfast and nothing was too much effort for them. It was a bit further out than we had anticipated even though it is advertised as Dubrovnik its about 10 kilometers away and even though the owners were happy to give us lifts, you need a car to go anywhere.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Apartment lovely but hosts exceptional. - The apartment was beautiful, the hosts were so accommodating, nothing too much trouble, truly like staying with friends. You leave feeling you made friends for life. Their breakfast every morning different and lovely. Need driving somewhere, no problem. Such a shame to leave. Croatian people and place 10/10
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hide away on hill - Just returned from a lovely 8 night stay here. The apartment feels like a home from home and is spacious, clean and well presented with great views overlooking the coast. Doris and Pero are very welcoming hosts, leaving morning pastry treats and giving advice on days out etc. Would happily stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place and excellent choice - Great place. Beautiful quality apartment up on hill with sea view. Me and my two daughters rented suite. Plenty of room, kitchen, dining table, large rooms , patio…. Everything is there. Lovely hosts always there to help. Beautiful beaches with blue clear water everywhere on walking distance although we had a car. This place is very close to Blue Radisson Blue Resort so we spend every day there. Place is about 15 minutes ride from Dubrovnik city. It is better to stay in this place, not in Dubrovnik old city that is overcrowded and park impossible. Absolutely no complaints. You will not be disappointed. Only disappointments is food in Dubrovnik restaurants. Expensive and not good. I would cook everything much better. Parking in Dubrovnik is $6 per hour.
- Richard and Kim (10/5): Fantastic hosts - We loved the location just outside of Dubrovnik. The hosts Pero and Doris really make the place and the view is beautiful.
- Lee (10/5): Nice quiet location with great view - Lovely apartment, great spacious clean rooms. Brilliant helpful owners. Who left us cakes every day. Easy access to main parts of dubrovnik. Would highly recommend.
- Bruce (8/5): Nice view and modern room - Really nice view and fairly new. Al nice and modern. Probably best described as small villa, as it has 3 or 4 rooms I think. Large Radison complex within a short drive or a bit of a walk down the hill which has many restaurants.
- Guy (8/5): Magnificent family experience on Adriatic - We stayed at this villa for five nights and it was the highlight of our European vacation. The location in hills of Orasac near Dubrovnik was perfect. The view of the Adriatic was fabulous. Our hosts were extremely warm and made us feel at home immediately. We were very surprised and delighted when they dropped off pastries on several mornings. The suite was wonderfully appointed and very clean. The balcony afforded a nice view of several islands and was sufficiently private. Various beaches and towns along the coast were within walking/driving distance. Dubrovnik itself is 20 minutes away. One minor consideration was that the living room was a little crowded when both pull out beds were in use, but overall we were very pleased and would love to go back and have already recommended the location to friends.
Thanks again to the family Matic.
- Nikola (10/5): An amazing stay - A wonderful place to stay. The family that owns it is super friendly and they made sure our every need was met. From giving us directions to leaving us little treats everyday they are wonderful people with beautiful children. 15 minute drive to the old city of Dubrovnik and there are a couple of local beaches within walking distance that have crystal clear beautiful water. Would recommend this place 100%
- brian (10/5): Ideal spot for exploring the Croatian coastline - Lovely apartment just up the coast from Dubrovnik (15 mins by car)Doris and Pero were the perfect hosts and couldn't do enough to help if we needed it. Great views over the Adriatic coastline and lost of small villages nearby for local restaurants if you didn't want to go into the main city. Would highly recommend.
- Shannon (10/5): Great Place - This is a great apartment with a superior view of the sea. The hosts are beyond accommodating. It's the first time I've ever been checked into a room sitting on a terrace with a cold drink:) I also got an email from them, making sure I knew how to get there. I did have a GPS, but they are actually right next to a medical building so they let me know if you follow the red + signs it takes you right there. There isn't much to do in the town of Orasac, but it is a great launching spot for the Trsteno Arboretum and Dubrovnik. The hosts had booked a boat outing for my neighbors which included pick up and drop off and they were very happy with the entire day. This was the best view I had of sunset in my 12 days in Croatia!
- mike (10/5): Information - Very good all round but was not aware of it being a self catering accommodation until arrival and wasn't aware of how far it was from the main town
- Alan (8/5): Nice place to stay, good for Dubrovnic, beach/pool - We had an enjoyable time................................................................................................
- Howard (10/5): Comfortable apartment, stunning views - Just come back from a wonderful week at Island View - lovely apartment in quiet village overlooking some of the best scenery I've ever seen. If you're happy to walk up and down a few hills, you don't need a car (bus service into Dubrovnik and Zaton where there is a bit more to do is regular, reliable and cheap). Pero and Doris are lovely people and very helpful with information and hospitality was wonderful. Nearest beach is (like most in Croatia) pebbly but plenty of space for your towel and, once again, fabulous views over the islands. It also hosts the closest bar/restaurant which is a fantastic place to sit and chill, whilst watching the sun go down over the islands. A very relaxing place to go!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pero and Doris are the best. Super friendly, helpful and warm. Much better than the zoo in Dubrovnik.
- AC (10/5): friendly attentive service - The family who run the apartments where very helpful and could not do enough for us.
- D and K (8/5): Friendly and welcoming owners - Doris and Pero were very friendly and welcoming. Each morning outside our unit would be a little surprise eg. Cake which was a nice touch. The rooms were a good size and had most of what we needed. The shower was a letdown with no ability to fix the shower head (hand held) and water was very slow to drain. The payment terms left us in a predicament as the booking site did not mention we had to pay in CASH, nor were we advised about any payment in cash with the exception of the Croatian City Tax. Unfortunately our bank had limits on daily withdrawals and we ended up having to borrow the cash from Friends to pay as we only found this out the day prior to checkout. The location is close to a mini mart for groceries and a bus stop is about a 7 minute walk. The busses run every hour into dubrovnik which is approx 12km away and 20 minutes on the bus.
- richard (10/5): Appartment with great viewso - Arrived late @airport pero had arranged a taxi for us,location is ideal with fantastic views Pero and Doris are fantastic hosts nothing is a problem, they helped with a hire car an suggestions where to go on our daily travels.the little gifts(mostly mouth watering cakes) was a pleasant suprise every morning, the rooms were very high standard and amenities was all you want.
- Ian (10/5): Friendly, inexpensive, comfortable apartment - Residences Island View is a fine place to stay. The hosts, Pero and Doris, are very attentive and helpful, our apartment was spacious and well-appointed and the village of Orasac is lovely, with a good small supermarket very near and a cake shop at the bottom of the hill. The views over the Adriatic are marvellous and there are excellent walks. Dubrovnik is 11 Km away on a good 'bus route - you can, of course, hire a car, but we dis not find that necessary. We spent 4 days in Dubrovnik and 3 in Orasac, and that was about right. All in all, it was a pretty good holiday.
- jackie (10/5): Self catering apartment overlooking the Adriatic - Excellent. The owners arranged a transfer from the airport and welcomed us with drinks on the balcony when we arrived. They were extremely hospitable and left home made cakes for us on several days and organised a car hire half way though the week.
We took buses us into Dubrovnik for 3 days and took a taxi back
- Jim and Susan (10/5): 1 Week stay in fabulous apartment - We stayed in this apartment for 1 week and had a great time. The apartments were beautifully finished with great attention to detail. The view from the apartment is stunning. The owners who live in the main apartment Doris and Pero were exceptional hosts who couldn't do enough for us. We were left treats of fruit, homemade cake and wine. We rented a car for the last 3 days and Pero arranged this for us at very short notice. The car was delivered to and collected from the apartment, which made it all very easy and convenient for us. The owners are planning on building a pool at some time and this would definitely enhance the apartments' facilities as the pebble beach is about a 20 minute walk downhill and more on the return trip. Pero and Doris collected us from the airport and dropped us back to the airport at a much better rate than a taxi or transfer service would have cost. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Croatia, and the village of Orasac is a lovely place to stay if like us you enjoy peace and quiet.
- Mike (10/5): Great apartment for a self catering family holiday - We arrived very late and were met with a warm and friendly welcome. The following morning Doris and Pedro (the owners) gave us much good advice on where to go locally and further afield. We initially were in the top floor apartment as a family had decided to extend their stay in the lower apartment. The top appartment has a beautiful view of the sea and surrounding area. On day 3 we moved down to the larger apartment which had everything we needed to self cater and was as/more comfortable than the few 5 star hotels hotels we've stayed in.
We gather they hope to build a swimming pool in the next few years which will make the apartments even better!
We had a hire car which helped with getting about and would definitely recommend your own transport, car or bike though a frequent bus service was a walk away. To find the accommodation you need to follow the signs for the ambulance station.
All in all, we are very glad we stayed there and the owners went out of their way to be helpful and to ensure we enjoyed our stay in Croatia.
- Doe (10/5): great apartment and hosts - We stayed here at the end of july/start of august 2013. Had a great holiday. The apartment is about 20 mins by car to dubrovnik and is in a quiet area, which suited us both perfectly for a relaxing holiday. Apartments are modern and spotlessly clean. Hosts doris and pero are very welcoming and friendly. A car is a must, we had decided to see when we got out there if really necessary. We concluded it was and our super hosts helped us get one on our first evening.
- Lemonfacehead (10/5): Ideal location 15 mins from Dubrovnik - Lovely place, with lovely people. Best to take a car.
- John (10/5): Excellent stay for enjoying Dubrovnic - The apartments are a little off the beaten track, and an accurate GPS position would be useful especially if arriving at night.
Great view from the apartment balcony, but some work needs to be completed externally to match with the excellent accomodation.
The very helpful family live above the apartment and have young children, but due to the tiled floors , noise, which can be intrusive , is transferred below. The family may wish to consider carpeting their apartment as the children grow?
