- Andrew (10/5): Gorgeous hotel with super staff - Superb staff - friendly, courteous, responsive and helpful. The room was large and impeccably kept and the location is great not just for airport but for shops, restaurants and bars (note that the hotel's restaurant is excellent and could be a destination in its own right). My only very minor complaint is the 7 am start for breakfast. Since many, many flights leave in the morning, it would be nice if either breakfast opened earlier or the hotel could prepare a simple takeaway continental bfast with yogurt, bread, fruit etc.

We were on the end and would have liked to have been in the garden area. Need a shower shelf to put shampoo on—we had to use the sink area.
- adrian (10/5): The most perfect small, intimate hotel with outstanding service and facilities in an ideal location. - We could not have been more satisfied with our stay. The staff went out of their way to meet all our needs, and indeed exceeded in doing so, and let us stay and make use of all the facilities having booked out, as our flights home were not until the evening. The rooms were extremely comfortable, and the meals delicious. The location was also perfect, being in a quiet, secure residential area just 15 minutes from the airport. I would recommend the Giglio unreservedly. Nothing!

Option for late check out which was greatly appreciated Property was undergoing renovations, specifically to the pool and external painting of the rooms which we weren’t made aware of before we arrived. Disappointing as the tranquility and relaxation we were looking forward to was disturbed by dust, noise and workmen around the property. Unable to sit on our patio or open our windows as they were painting our room. Pool was unusable, which we looked forward to after a hot Joburg day. Uncomfortable seating on the walkway outside our room and increased privacy options should be explored.

- Errol (6/5): Pleasant stay. - Breakfast was excellent. Location was good. The property was hosting a wedding reception on the night of our stay. This was not communicated to us at the time of booking. We had to call reception at about 11pm to ask them to get the party to turn dial down the noise, even though we were advised when we checked in that the party would end at 10pm.

- Wioletta (7/5): Buffer day hotel - Very pleasant room decoration, good quality furniture, taps etc, comfortable bed, immaculate garden Room was much smaller than on the pictures, crammed and damp from the shower. There was 18th birthday party at the restaurant spilling out onto the pool area so we only had a limited choice of garden furniture to sit at during our lunch. Food was unremarkable but perhaps we were spoiled on our travels around SA…There was noticeable noise from the road which added to un-relaxing atmosphere so instead of staying put and enjoying our buffer day before boarding a plane we ventured out to see what Johannesburg has to offer, which was actually nice.

- James (10/5): Great Last night, shame we couldn't stay longer or enjoy the restaurant - A great boutique hotel for the final night of our South Africa trip, would have very happily stayed there longer and would certainly go back on any return visit to Joburg. Breakfast was very good, and although we didn't eat there as had reservations in advance the menu and wine list looked top quality. Probably the best bed and shower of the 13 different places we stayed (B&B to Five Star) and with improvements they have planned this hotel will only get better. Nothing to criticise at all

We’ve now stayed twice at The Giglio during our time in South Africa, and it has become a real little gem for us. It’s located in a quiet, safe area just 15 minutes from JNB airport, making it the perfect travel hub. The guest rooms are super cosy and impeccably clean, and the restaurant serves excellent food with a great selection of wines. But what really sets The Giglio apart is the incredibly friendly staff, who consistently go above and beyond to make every stay pleasant and memorable. Nothing!

- Mohammadhassan (6/5): Our stay was comfortable and clean, but a few missing amenities and unresolved issues kept - We really liked the overall design of our room—the layout felt thoughtfully planned, and the access to everything we needed was convenient and intuitive. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a long day, and the entire space was spotlessly clean, which made our stay feel even more relaxing and enjoyable. We were disappointed by a few aspects of our stay. The TV in our room had half-burnt pixels, which made it difficult to watch anything. We asked for it to be replaced, but unfortunately, the staff wasn’t able to help with that. We had planned to relax in our room and watch one of our favorite shows, but because of the TV issue, we weren’t able to enjoy that part of our stay. We also found it inconvenient that the hotel didn’t have a gym, as we like to maintain our routine while traveling. Additionally, we were expecting a breakfast buffet, so it was a letdown to discover that this option wasn’t available.
- Hans (9/5): Beautiful rose garden boutique retreat in Bedfordview - The serene atmosphere of the manicured rose gardens on the property (there are white roses all over the place). There was even a living reception rabbit. Doors and windows in the rooms are a bit old-fashioned and don't do much for noise cancelling. This is not a big problem because the hotel is in a quiet area.

- Laurent (10/5): Heerlijk! Meer dan 10 waard…. Love it! - Zoals steeds, een top accommodatie. De kamer is formidabel mooi, de ontvangst super vriendelijk en professioneel. Chique en veilige buurt, ruime parkeergelegenheid. Het restaurant serveert heerlijke fijne gerechten en het lekkere ontbijt bij het zwembad laten je rustig ontwaken zoals in een sprookje na een zalige relaxe nacht. Top!

- Tom (10/5): Very nice Boutique Hotell with a very accommodating staff - The rooms were very nice and they had a wonderful breakfast. Their dinner was excellent as well. Staff very accommodating. They helped us organize transportation, which was a bit of a concern before arriving in Johannesburg. Unfortunately, they were working on the pool and it was empty and they were doing some stucco work on the wall so it was a bit noisy during the day. It would’ve been nice to have the pool in the evenings.

- Tom (10/5): Very nice facility and wonderful staff! - Great location. Breakfast was wonderful every day as well. Close to the airport and close into Johannesburg. There was construction (plastering alls, etc.) going on and the pool was not operational. Would’ve been nice to know this in advance or have been offered a room discount. Their restaurant did provide a free bottle of wine at the dinner we had at the restaurant. Dinner was excellent.

- Silvia (6/5): Hotel comodo all’aeroporto - La ragazza alla reception Charity è gentilissima, disponibile e di supporto a qualsiasi esigenza! Non ho trovato il livello di un cinque stelle: le camere danno su un parcheggio con via vai continuo di persone davanti alla camera. Prodotti per il bagno scarsi, esiste una vasca ma non il bagnoschiuma. Non abbiamo trovato né fazzolettini di carta ( ovunque disponibili) e neppure accappatoi. Il ristorante era chiuso quindi non abbiamo potuto cenare ma Charity ci ha consigliato un ottimo ristorante. Il rapporto qualità perzzo rispetto alle altre strutture visitate è mediocre.
- Francesca (8/5): Angenehmer Aufenthalt mit Abstrichen - Insgesamt sehr schöne Anlage mit geschmackvoll eingerichteten Zimmern, bequemen Betten, und netten Mitarbeitenden. Das Auto kann sicher abgestellt werden. Flughafennähe war für uns entscheidend. Das Frühstück war dem Unterkunftspreis nicht angemessen. Man konnte sich etwas aus der bescheidenen Karte aussuchen; ein kleines Buffet mit Selbstbedienung (Croissants, Früchte, Saft) hat gefehlt. Wer gerne ausgiebig frühstückend in den Tag startet, wird hier enttäuscht. Das Zimmer ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, aber äusserst hellhörig. Wir konnten die typisch italienische Musik-Abendschau unseres Zimmernachbars bestens mitverfolgen :(
