Guest Reviews
- glosterboy (2/5): DOWNRIGHT AWFUL - Booked this with Lastminute in Feb based on pictures and reviews. Had email from TCH confirming twin room. Arrived at hotel Friday tired and hungry after bad early morning airport experience at Bristol. Told we had been moved to a sister hotel (with poor reviews) and offered a map to find our way there. Unacceptable service. Manager utterly useless. After 45 minutes offered us refund or complimentary taxi to sister hotel and booking to be honoured there, when I asked for the refund he denied offering this and refused to arrange for me to speak to his senior when he suggested he had been liaising with them. Seemed to find situation humourous and justified it with this ‘happens often recently’. There is more empathy in my toenail, the manager is better employed as a doorstop. AVOID THIS HOTEL YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED…
- William (10/5): - Was apprehensive as we were moved to the sister hotel across the sqaure, only to find newly refurbished, came in on the Saturday night to find a complementary tray of cakes and fruit plus a free drink in the hotel bar for having to move hotel, which we most appreciated.
- Rosemary (10/5): - I was traveling with a wheelchair user the facilities were excellent with a bright large bedroom and ample room in the bathroom
- Victoria (4/5): - Our booking was transferred to the plaza hotel so this review is for that hotel which in the transfer email was meant to have been recently refurbished and recently opened. This was not the case, the hotel has been undergoing gradual refurbishment over 3 years and none of the bathrooms have been done.
Pros: Staff were very nice and rooms were for the most part clean, nice decor. Beds were very comfortable. Location to the tram service to take you into Dublin city was good, just a 10 minute walk. And then 45 minute tram to abbey street which puts you close to temple bar, about a 10 minute walk.
Cons:
Restaurant only serves breakfast, and the bar food is awful. You're better off going to the shopping centre for food just bear in mind nothing opens until after 9am, 11am on Sundays. There's also a McDonald's nearby.
Bathrooms haven't been refurbished so cracked bathroom tiles, bath was in poor condition.
There's a lot of noise from the road and pedestrians in the evening. I was kept awake by screaming drunk women at about 1230/1am. Not the hotel's fault, but again something to bear in mind if you decide to book here.
Check in was pretty bad, meant to be 3pm but was closer to 4pm. We had to check out early, 535am but noone about causing delays.
Overall despite really nice staff, a very expensive (£425 for 2 nights) but disappointing hotel. Would not recommend.
- Lance (2/5): - Did not check into this Hotel.....
- mattbogdan (10/5): New and Spotless - The hotel is recently renovated and new. the staff was incredible and went out of their way to provide tips and directions. The hotel is a short 8-10 minute walk to the Luas through the mall. From there, you can get anywhere in Dublin without sitting in traffic. Great hotel and great experience.
- Edmundo (10/5): - Nice staff. Good breakfast
- Maria Roelie (10/5): - This hotel is really lovely. The staff went above
And beyond and helped us quickly with our needs. The hotel room
Is spacious. The dining table in the room
Is really a bonus. The location is about 20 minutes to city center and 30 minutes to the airport. Hotel is really clean and well stocked. This hotel is close to a grocery store and restaurants
- sulamitapyvovar (10/5): Excellent place - Tallaght Cross Hotel is very nice place. It is beautiful and pleasant. There is a park not far from the hotel and sightly nature around. Very comfortable and cosy rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
- Spencer B (8/5): - Easy to find, parking is included and convenient and rooms are spacious
- Jonathan (10/5): - Property is nice and central for visiting the Wicklow/Dublin area. Used it as a base for a couple of days travelling to Bray and Powerscourt. Free parking also. Near to a shopping centre with plenty of cafes etc.
- poppyshan (10/5): Good - Lovely clean hotel very comfortable mattress and pillows, nice reception area staff nice and welcoming, just a little hard to find, parking available, nice clean reception, shower excellent, menu for food not that good but walking distance to more restaurants
- timbutlerphotos (10/5): Perfect location for the weekend - Located just a few minutes walk from the Square shopping centre in Tallaght, Dublin. Check in was smooth and easy. No stress. I had phoned a day in advance to see if I could check in early as I had a christening to attend and the receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. There was Free car parking and excellent customer service as I expected from this great hotel. Rooms were warm and bathroom perfect. I was glad of the Air-Con later in the night as I like to sleep in a cool room. I didn't have breakfast or eat in the restaurant as time was against me but I would definitely recommend the Tallaght Cross hotel and I would certainly stay here again. 10/10 for me on this occasion so I will definitely update when I stay again and I will certainly try breakfast next time.
- Thomas (6/5): Won't return.. - Asked for quiet room - got one by the main dooe which was extremely noisy. Attitude of staff at reception was poor - like I was putting them out asking to change rooms.
Rooms have thin walls. You can hear whats happening in other rooms and all the doors bang incredibly loud.
Location is not good for town either. Its miles away from city centre.
- ITP04 (6/5): Clean but very impersonal - We stayed here as I needed to be close to the Tallaght hospital for an appointment the next day.
On arrival the lady on reception was thoughtful. I’m disabled and she ensured we had an easily accessed room.
The room was clean and generally all in order. However, we had difficulty sleeping as the room was really hot. On inspection during the night we discovered the air conditioning was set at 28C. It really affected our sleep and in my case this has unfortunate consequences.
We were recommended a restaurant for dinner which turned out to not be very good. It would have been lovely to be given a list of different options.
Breakfast was ok but everyone at breakfast spoke Russian or maybe Ukrainian and we felt very out of place. Even one of these guests stood at our table and talked across us to the guests at the table beside as we ate our breakfast. This was uncomfortable.
Coffee at breakfast was excellent. Choice of food wasn’t great especially if you wanted a healthy breakfast which I did. We didn’t go hungry!
When we arrived in the dining room there was no available staff to seat us or help us with breakfast in any way which is unfortunate when you have a physical disability. Plus some staff interaction would have been nice.
Staff we met on the lift were courteous.
I certainly wouldn’t say we had a negative experience but we felt like foreigners in our own country and like we didn’t really exist. All in all a very impersonal and lonely experience.
- Navigator293142 (10/5): Modern and comfortable hotel - My room was well furnished and quiet. The staff is friendly and prepared, they accepted the check-in after the allowed hours.
The breakfast needs to be improved slightly, at rush hour the coffee machines were almost all out of order.
- Thomas (8/5): value hotel in dublin - Good basic hotel. great value for money. no frills. breakfast service was slow but quality of food good
- Randall (10/5): Customer service. - The customer service was above and beyond . They get it !
- Chaudhry (10/5): - Good
- Sumati (10/5): - Great staff and very comfortable..
- Russell (10/5): - Excellent hotel,super friendly staff,excellent breakfast.Decent size room.2min walk to the Lucas.👍
- James (10/5): - The staff at this hotel go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable. We were especially happy with Aline at the front desk. She filled us in on all of the information for the area, and when our room a/c had a mechanical issue she had the staff move all of our belongings to another room while we explored Dublin. By the way, it’s really close to the LUAS tram line so getting in to Dublin was stress free
- AuntyBabz (8/5): Comfortable hotel excellent breakfast - We stayed two nights in two different rooms. The hotel was spotless. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Staff were excellent especially breakfast service. Showers powerful and good quality toiletries provided. Parking was simple and a short car drive took us to Dublin city centre. For quicker shopping there is a shopping centre within walking distance and public transport on the Luas. Can recommend and will definitely stay again!
- Brian (6/5): - It was far too expensive for a one night stay. I got a steak sandwich for my evening meal and it was mediocre.
Nice enough hotel, well situated close to all amenities and the shops but far too expensive.
Breakfast was good.
- carolinemL8145GA (6/5): Comfortable bedrooms, food needing improvement - Stayed for 1 night. The hotel expect payment upfront for the room, prior to the guest even seeing their assigned room, which is bizarre.
Great location, close to luas line and shops.
Bedrooms very comfortable, all one could need.
Food on the other hand isn't great. Needs improvement. It's edible but over priced for what's on offer. Would stay again but would eat elsewhere.
- crystalyn (10/5): - Great hotel, would book with them again!
- francesbP2448WN (10/5): Lovely room. - Room lovely and well worth a vsiit, definetly will stay again. Just used room.
Free parking and very close to access Dublin city. Shops near by for all needs.
Booking online with no issues and free cancellation before 24 hour stay.
- E8538WFritaw (10/5): A great short break - My second visit in a few weeks as I enjoyed the first with my daughter. I returned with my husband. A lovely hotel in a good position , straight from the station and on to the Luas. Great shopping centre nearby for eats and snacks. Friendly and polite staff and a very comfortable room. The duvet and pillows were the best Ive ever come across so a great night's sleep.....the hotel was very quiet too. The breakfast was usual buffet with plenty of choice to suit everyone we enjoyed it.
- 095Mary (8/5): Central and convenient - Lovely city hotel. Very spacious room. Located just seconds from the last Luas stop. A very convenient Aldi is just across the plaza. The Square shopping centre is within a few minutes walk. All staff that we encountered were, without exception, lovely. Very friendly without being intrusive and always smiling. Will definitely be back.
- amandawE1944VR (6/5): Bed and breakfast 1 night - The room was nice and clean. However we got breakfast the next morning which was disappointing. It was a buffet and the breakfast was cold. Very disappointing and definitely expected more when I paid extra for bed and breakfast. Wouldn’t recommend getting the breakfast at the Tallaght Cross Hotel.
- T8352YLhelenm (10/5): Amazing hotel - On arrival to the hotel we where checked in by a lovely lady (hayleigh) she couldn’t of been nicer and so well spoken she answered any questions we had , bar staff where friendly and well mannered. The food was delicious and good option to choose from .
The beds rooms where very clean and beds where comfortable will definitely be back again in the future
- dogan (10/5): - It’s located a new and modern area of the city little bit far from the city centre. It’s new ,very modern and comfortable hotel. Safe covered parking in the building is a great advantage for choosing the hotel.
Staff was very polite and cooperative at all times while we we staying at the hotel.
Strongly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fine, straight forward hotel. Free parking was a nice touch on the underground car park
- Kathleen Anne (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff.
- M170TYstevenw (8/5): Hotel stays in Dublin area - We stayed in this hotel to visit Punchestown races and found it very good. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and easy links to the city and airport with Tram stop a 2 min walk from the hotel with link to both. Breakfast was buffet style but a good range of food available and all delicious
- Delphine103 (10/5): Excellent Stay - We stayed in the hotel for two nights, and found the room to be spacious, clean, quiet and overall very good. No complaints or anything negative to mention.
The staff were very helful and friendly, booking a taxi was always easy, quick and reliable.
Breakfast was excellent value for money, with a plentiful buffet and fantastic choice (do try the smoothies, they are so good...).
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I come this way.
- Bialann (10/5): Would recommend - We stayed in this Hotel for more than a week and found it to be good value.
The Room was spacious, modern, clean and had a decent bed.
The staff in all departments were competent, friendly and helpful.
I'd have no problem recommending, particularly if close proximity to the Hospital is needed, which it was in our case.
- Chantal (10/5): - We really enjoyed the location. The tram is very close by along with the square. The staff were amazing. Great Irish breakfast in the morning. No complaints from us. We will definitely be returning
- carajeanm2022 (10/5): Family gathering - Just home after spending 2 nights in Tallaght cross hotel, originally from Tallaght myself and have stayed in many hotels in the area I have to say I could not find 1 fault in this hotel, All staff are extremely pleasant nothing is too much for them and are happy to to assist their guests in every way possible, the food in the restaurant is very high standard, very tasty and well presented, value for money is brilliant. 100% I would recommend this hotel and I will return again. Thank you to all the staff your doing an amazing job 👏👏👏
- erictipperary (8/5): Excellent stay - Excellent, really modern lovely hotel with lovely sfaff. 5 out of 5 if only not given 5 mins for breakfast arrived at 10.55 told last breakfast was 11, waitress said they needed to change the room for lunches at 11. 3 more couples arrived after us. Only flaw really. The breakfast was up there with the best O have had. Keep up the good work 👍. Maybe say last breakfast 10.30 am
- Andrew (10/5): - Very nice and comfortable
- Laughing_boy1959 (6/5): Family trip - The hotel rooms are big and the bedding clean, cleaning staff cannot replace bath towels with bath towels which is a bit frustrating, food in the bar is very average, the food in the bistro is a little better
On the evening that we arrived there was a young couple in reception lying on a settee, that were one step away from having full blown sex, but the hotel staff said nothing - very bizzare
- Maroulla (8/5): - The cleanliness of the room was fabulous. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would complain about is the menu choice, the same chef's special every day, no variety
- karen (8/5): - Bar closed at 10.30... No resident bar available.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff were lovely and helpful, easy no hassle check in and check out.
Room was spotlessly clean and vert welcoming.
Breakfast was very tasty and again the staff were lovely and helpful.
We would definitely stay again 🙂
- LYNNE (10/5): Relaxing stay. - Although an hour out of Dublin very easy to access. Hotel is beautiful, only two years old and all staff were lovely. Hotel is handy to supermarkets and places to eat. Very relaxing staff. Would definitely recommend.
- Tony (10/5): Nice stay - Clean room. Breakfast and dinner were good.
- Myles J (10/5): - Close to the Luas tram line. Close to Tallaght Hospital
- Patrick (10/5): Excellent Tallaght Cross hotel - Lovely fresh modern hotel and located in the centre of Tallaght, Dublin. Excellent service in difficult times. Lovely buffet breakfast set up and everything so easily to locate. Excellent food
- Alan (10/5): Superb - Very enjoyable and relaxing stay, hotel staff very friendly and polite. Excellent customer service check-in very welcoming. Room very neat, clean and comfortable. Quality service, excellent bar service food and beverages. Good location with shopping outlet nearby and transport to city.
- Michael j (10/5): - Very comfortable, excellent accommodation, well organised and Covid compliant.
Tasty breakfast, evening meal and very inviting bar with friendly accommodating staff
- Maria (10/5): Grandchildren visit - We were very impressed with the efficiency of all the staff. The hotel was extremely clean and dealt with current covid issues with excellent skills. On arrival we were dealt with by a very efficient receptionist who allowed us to check in early. The bar staff were extremely friendly and even though there were 2 men who were a little loud they dealt with the situation efficiently and kept coming over to us to apologise for the inconvenience it may have cause us although it did not effect us in anyway. We had bar food served to us which was excellent and the breakfast in the morning had a great variety and nothing was too much trouble for any staff member. We needed a taxi to take us to our family and they ordered it immediately and even though there was a delay in it arriving they kept coming over to us to explain rather than just having us sitting. I used to live in Tallaght but since our move we come down at least once a year and have previously stayed in other hotels in the area. I can say with the courteous manner which we have received in this hotel we will not be going back to any of the other hotels in Tallaght as we found the experience in the Tallaght Cross Hotel was of 5 star quality. Thank you all for a great experience.
- Myles J (10/5): - Really good bedroom and bathroom. Great carparking at no added cost. Great reception. Good bar/restaurant. Close to Dart rail to get into central Dublin.
- Elliot (8/5): Superb - Very friendly staff ,
And the food was fantastic,
Highly recommend
- kEVIN (10/5): - Excellent hotel and secure parking.
- Bola (10/5): Excellent - It's was amazing and the breakfast was great, i will recommend 👌
- James (10/5): - Very friendly welcome...very clean, quiet room and enjoyable breakfast.the Christmas decorations where really impressive.Looking forward to returning
- Rob (8/5): Stay - Room was ok with free parking which was good, food was overpriced and poor pint of Guinness
- Claire (8/5): Great location - Nice clean, modern hotel. Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Stay in Tallaght - The Hotel was modern, clean and staff was professional while being courteous! The location was perfect, 5 minutes walk to LUAS and Square Shopping Center, Gym next door and Food Shop across from the hotel. I have stayed in other hotels in the Tallaght area and The Cross is by far the best.
- Ashley (6/5): Won’t be back - Didn’t enjoy the stay , booked a double room with double bed ( not two single beds pushed together! Also food was terrible
- John (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facility was beautiful good location free underground secure parking and very clean would recommend
- Mary (8/5): - Clean and friendly staff
- Raphael (10/5): - It was good and quiet.
- Arlene (10/5): Would recommend. - Fantastic stay & will definitely return. Convenient location, excellent parking facilities, friendly staff, lovely room, good food & beverages.
- Marie (10/5): Fabulous - The hotel was very clean with large rooms and a shower and bed that could fit a small family in! The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There was a large selection of food for breakfast which is served in the brasserie. The seating in the bar area was spacious and comfortable and there was a varied selection bar food and drinks to choose from. The location was fabulous; it was close to all amenities and to the Luas (tram) which ran every 10-15 minutes and the journey to central Dublin taking approximately 30 minutes, and to local bus services. There is a lovely park close by with a play area for children. I would highly recommend it. M x
- Stephen (10/5): Would Stay Again - Our Stay was excellent, Only a little blip was the underground parking and signage to Hotel Slots were absent.
- Jayesh (8/5): - A pleasant and clean hotel with underground parking. Conveniently located for major roads and public transport. Friendly and courteous staff. Competitively priced.
Three lifts but only one servicing the car park, which can be slow at times.
A award point scheme would benefit the hotel and clients of the hotel.
- Janet (10/5): - Great location for exploring Dublin. The tram is steps away from the hotel and a 40-minute ride to the center of town. We also used our car to explore more of the area, taking advantage of the free and secure parking. The room was lovely, although we would have liked to have an in-room fridge and microwave.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Weekend stay - It was good
