• keepyercool (7/5): Conveniently located, clean, comfortable room not far the Yung Shue Wan ferry - Great location not far from the ferry terminal, and in fact the new set of three rooms near the old Waterfront cafe are much quieter and more peaceful than the original wing above the Indian restaurant. The little room was well equipped with kettle, mugs, TV, aircon, fully fitted bathroom with hot water. A bit small and pokey, but good value and very clean and tidy.

• Mahasen (1/5): I would not recommend this establishment as the service, staff and building condition are very poor. - Location convenient The staff were unfriendly and housekeeping was not provided. The entrance to the second building was shabby and not photographed on the app. They consistently requested additional payment for minor requests such as adjacent rooms housekeeping and a 15-minute delay in checkout. They also charged extra for a small stain on a bedsheet which should be part of their regular post-checkout maintenance. Loud music and excessive noise were present after 10 pm despite their listing stating otherwise. This property is not recommended for families.

I had to strand in the shower to open/close the door. Shower was small. Barbeque facilities on the roof could be improved.

• Janet (8/5): Bali Holiday Resort - Host very helpful. Location and view are perfect. Well equipped with microwave and fridge, bottle opener and a few other helpful items. Windows are not very soundproof, so for me, sleeping was difficult, but for a few nights, stay worth using ear plugs as the location is great.

The rooms are spotted around main street though so there are variations in view and locale and room interiors. Might be best to ask specifically for the features you want when booking.

• Yu Chin (4/5): 不怎麼貼心也不悠閒的度假屋，想要有美好的回憶建議選別的地方 - 房間地板是滿乾淨的，冷氣很冷，熱水很熱，對灰塵感到過敏但在這個房間沒有灰塵的感覺，有附上轉接插座 很小的廁所和洗手台，還好我們兩個人只有一個人攜帶行李箱，這空間大小基本上無法展開兩個行李箱，房間沒有附瓶裝水，櫃台人員說必須自己燒開水喝..... 毛巾是很奇怪的材質很像毛毯，房間內貼上為了體恤工作人員的辛苦，退房的時候把垃圾帶走，到附近的垃圾場分類垃圾，房間內除了牙刷牙膏毛巾外甚麼都沒付，此外還要收200港幣的鑰匙押金， 房間的窗簾壞掉，必須要把窗簾放在電視上面才能露出一點室外採光，室內用的衛生紙是上廁所用的廁紙，房間內的安排不是很貼心，唯一好的地方就是距離乘船處還算可以接受的距離，遠離城市的喧囂 建議看清楚室內的大小是不是可以接受的

The staff was willing to change our rooms when we requested to add another room (with extra cost) when we checked in. The room was a decent size. The price was quite fair. The amenities exceeded my expectations. It was not exactly dirty but not clean either. The walls were quite thin as you can hear other people in their room. The bathroom is really small.

• György (10/5): - You would think that booking an accomodation on Lamma Island would make life difficult but we found it actually to be a pleasent surprise. Gives a bit of an extra touch with having to take the ferry which has frequent departures and cost about 2€/ride. The accomodation is very good value for the money especially in Hong Kong. AC was working, local breakfast offered at nearby restaurant was delicious and the staff was nice! Breakfast is not offered in house but its only a 1 minute walk. Furniture was not the best but certainly ok for the value.

• Chloe (9/5): Exactly what I needed for an island retreat. - I loved the view, the balcony was amazing! I heard the water lapping on the beach next to my room through the day and night which was very soothing. Also I loved the bright happy sunny walls, the size of the room was good, and I'm so glad I had a kitchen. The accessibility to the town, the ferry pier, the restaurants and beach was all great. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. It was all perfect for my time there. Thank you! The room was a bit pricey for Lamma Island, but this is Hong Kong so it is understandable. There wasn't much space to walk around the bed to the balcony, and the balcony was a bit small - but once again, this is Hong Kong, and having a balcony is a luxury in Hong Kong! Especially one right by the ocean with such a view. On the first night, the music was quite loud beneath my room in the restaurant next door, so I had to sleep with earplugs, but the other nights were okay. Although the staff were lovely, not all of them spoke english, so it made it a bit difficult to communicate at first, but then they gave me a whatsapp number to communicate with, so it was easier after that.

• Michael (9/5): We had just come from two nights at The Grand Central ,Shanghai, but we had all we needed!! - Small but perfectly formed! We arrived late on a Saturday night, and had the Sunday to meet someone, before leaving on Monday lunchtime , so booked somewhere near the ferry! Everything we needed was there! Hot water , kettle, comfy bed and lots of power points! They have many sizes of room at The Bali,so for longer stay I would get a bigger room. Recommend! It was good value for money , so there was nothing to dislike!
• Abigail (5/5): Not great but not much choice - The bed was comfy and the location was spot on Asked for early check-in before arrival via family living on Lamma in person, as we arrived on Lamma at 5am, but staff were unaware and made us wait until 10 to 2pm to check in because they were cleaning the room. Charge 50 HKD which we paid because our child was exhausted and had no choice. In the room there are signs everywhere to clean everything or you will receive a fine which I thought was odd as we were told we couldn't check in early because they needed to clean it. No safe box as advertised on booking.com. and the plug socket right next to shower had a crack in it, not very safe. Priory agreements for a extra bed which we did not recieve therefore our child slept on a sofa.

• Simon (9/5): Superb - Location was great. Close to Ferry Wharf, Shops, Walks etc. Room was clean, but basic. Good shower with hot water, balcony, air con. Be aware that this area of Lamma is bustling. The rooms in this hotel are directly above restaurants and also on the main pedestrian street. It isn't noisy in any horrible way like motorbikes or drunks or anything. But it isn't silent. You will hear people enjoying dinner and walking past, at least until around 10-11PM. It was fine. Just as I expected.

• David (8/5): A well equipped, friendly, comfortable place, in the centre of a noisy bustley part of the village - The apartments are in a great location, only about 100 meters from the Yung Shue Wan ferry terminal on a flat walk. Great location with good views, close to everything in the village and easy to access the island trails and walks. The apartment was very well equipped, with air con, heaters, microwave and kettle etc. It was clean but but not modern. The staff were very helpful and friendly, Teh apartments have a great roof top bbq area, overlooking the bay, which is available to rent. I didnt do this, but it looked fantastic, and would be so different for a family. or group pf friends. Somehow I expected Lamma to be quiet and peaceful and hippyish. However- There certainly are a lot of American ex-pats in the village, and so it has a very western feel. Not the property's fault, but Lamma is bang under the flight path from Lantau, for major flights that are still climbing, they fly all night, this was very noisy. A group of ex-pat elderly men, sat outside a shop, next door drinking and talking very loudly until 02:30. The bins and refuse depot (clean and not smelly) just in front of the hotel , has a lot of action early morning. Plus the seafood restaurants on the front noisily set up and ready themselves from about 5:00 am. As a consequence this is a very noisy place to stay- if you have a room facing the bay. Its often the case in other places in the world. If you want a very quiet stay, other locations may be better. If you want to be in the centre of the action, its the place to be. The smell of cooking from the Thai, and Indian restaurants on the ground floor (which are both great) is non stop, not a great problem, but bad for the diet!

There wasn't a great number of places to choose to stay on Lamma and that reflected in the price and quality. We had to ask to be moved from our first room as we had paid extra for a balcony with sea view and safety deposit box and we had neither. Initially they wanted us to pay for an upgrade before doing so. The room was above an Indian Restaurant so say no more.
