Guest Reviews
- Alyse (10/5): - It was adorable! It was the perfect place for our two night stay. The bed was so much bigger than expected. Incredible view of the river and lots of cute, small details.
- Ramón Mikjail (8/5): -
- Rebekah Grenfell (9/5): - We loved staying at Beltbrug. It is a unique accommodation option away from the touristy areas which allowed us to explore the more local areas of Amsterdam. The accommodation itself is very lovely, bed was comfortable, great views and we really enjoyed the filter coffee they provided. It is a small space, so keep this in mind but had almost everything we needed. These aren't things we didn't like, but notes for future visitors - the house is right on the road, you do get road noise but this didn't keep us up. The bathroom does get very wet, but it wasn't an inconvenience.
- Facundo (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The place is beautiful, very well located, and set in a charming, picturesque area. It was a truly lovely experience overall. Highly recommended! Nothing to complain about. Just perfect.
- ramis (5/5): комната была холодная и за сутки, которые мы были она не согрелась - расположение очень холодно и комната не прогревается
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Mathias (10/5): -
- Steven (1/5): Avoid this urine soaked getaway at all costs! - Leaving! Well the graffiti and smell of urine when entering the property wasn't a great start! It was cold and couldn't seem to get any heat in the property. The toilet facilities were great if you wanted to use the lavatory whilst showering, no bathroom sink bo kitchen equipment it was woeful! The view was the one redeeming quality we had but not for long as we booked the hotel v nesplien in town which ironically wasnt much in price difference.
- Hans (6/5): - De ligging en originaliteit ervan Het was moeilijk warm te krijgen, vloer was ijskoud en het wasbakje direct naast je bed vind ik ook niet zo handig.
- Tomáš (10/5): -
- Sally (5/5): - Inside it was clean The strong smell of urine at the steps outside
It was there on arrival and more through the night
It would be good for the property to have a senior light on the steps to prevent urinating at the top of the steps - essentially at the front door!
- Lynda (7/5): - The quirky historic building and location The flexipass access didn't work, and the room felt damp. A bit overpriced for a single room.
- Jenny (9/5): Fantastic - I had to call to get let into the lockbox as key on phone wouldn’t work Shower drain smelt slightly - but probably as it’s an old property
- Bianca (10/5): -
- Nicolette (7/5): Overall a sweet little experience. It is a bit pricey for the quirkiness, but it was cute. - I think it was a neat experience to stay in the bridge house. It was a bit of a challenge to have a soaking wet bathroom after showering
- Craig (10/5): -
- Amoruso (7/5): -
- Vlad (10/5): - Location and bed was amazing The toilet was quite small and was quite hard to dry yourself completely after showering without wetting the floor in the room
- Muhammad (10/5): - good location
No había tele.
- Holcsik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eileen (8/5): Unique property - I liked the location overlooking the canal. I love the concept of reusing these unique properties. Check-in was seamless. Convenient to public transportation. Although we expected it to be small, it is really small -- just a tad larger than the bed.
- LINDA (10/5): A bijou property with a view - A bijou property that was originally a bridge house with views across the canal. There is heat which was needed as cold this week. Unfortunately there is traffic noise. There is no sink in bathroom but we squeezed the shower gel to cover our hands and then washed our hands in the bedroom sink. There are cupboards for clothes and cups, plates, cutlery and hairdryer. If you like different you will enjoy this experience.
- Grant (9/5): Unique, quirky and bijou. A great location to explore Amsterdam from. - A compact and bijou, bridge house, in a beautiful part of Amsterdam. Excellent transport links into the City Centre, which is also walkable.
Very quirky and unique accommodation, that brings a wonderful addition to a city stop in Amsterdam.
- Dainius (9/5): Superb - No neighbor's
Walkable distance to the center
Room is super cute
Had enough space for everything Was quite difficult for the air to air heater to keep it warm, so was a bit chill
- Dimitra (8/5): Very good - The view! And the room was very clean and cozy! The bathroom was a bit small.
- Darrel (8/5): Very good -
- Aziz (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (9/5): perfect location - The location was great, close to the centre but not loud at night. Easy check in, comfy for 2.
- Neil (9/5): Great location, really recommend it. - The location next to the Canal was brilliant. We had beautiful weather and so it was perfect.
We also enjoyed the bridge swings.
Public Transport was superb. It was a little cramped, but we expected that and it did not spoil our stay.
The place was not luxury, but it was comfy and I would really recommend it.
- Pollyanna (9/5): Wonderful property & views :) - Fantastic property! 20 min walk to the nine streets/anne Frank museum, but also super close to trams and a supermarket just across the road.
Kitted out with everything you’d need! Originally we thought the bed may have been a little small on the photos, however it’s a king (not a double) and it’s very comfy! It was lovely walking up to the windmill and watching the boats go past, especially when the bridge gets lifted! We got there quite late in the evening when it was dark, unfortunately the boat house is covered in graffiti, which is a real shame - it did make me feel uneasy at night because of this, like perhaps it wasn’t the greatest of neighbourhoods? Perhaps the hotel company could clean it or paint over it all and create a lovely mural?
Because of this uneasy feeling I would have liked a secondary latch on the door - chain latch, as you just had to trust the door was locked automatically.
- Jonathan (7/5): Affordable accommodation in the central canal district - unique in that respect - Quirky. Nice canal view. Good location
- Noel (9/5): Superb -
- Kerri (9/5): Quaint, unique, comfortable and we loved it - 270 degree views. Unique Graffiti on outside and appearance from outside that it was disused
- Murray (8/5): Very good - Amazing little gem. So cool with what they have done with these canal bridge houses. Close to restaurants, public transit and good location . Not more than a half hour bus ride to get anywhere. Very good to deal with and quick to respond over email. Only one little thing. A microwave would have been nice. Had everything else but just a small microwave would have topped it off. But if that's the worst then not too bad I think.
- Sophie (8/5): Very good - The room was so cosy and clean and welcoming. We loved it all inside and the canal view was lovely. Really comfy bed and had everything you needed. We even had a hand written card and information on the local area, so thoughtful! Loved the local restaurants too and seeing the boats pass through with the working bridge! Thanks for a lovely stay! One night we had locals sat drinking and playing music right outside the room for the evening, which was a bit loud, but they did clean up after themselves and leave by 11pm. Not a worry for us but for people looking for complete quiet it may be an issue. We did have a couple of incidences of passers by either urinating or vomiting on the stairs outside the door, which wasn't ideal but know this isn't in the control of the people running the accomodation. We thought maybe making the accomodation look a bit more lived in/in use may help this? Otherwise a great stay!
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Magnificent !!! - View of canals, room was perfect for me (solo). Maybe small for two people. Location the best!!! I was quite pleased, and it made my stay delightful!! Would like to keep it my little secret!! Being alone, I would like a peep hole in the door as someone rang door bell, and when I opened door, no one was there. But it would be nice to be able to see who is out there.
- Yunqing (7/5): It was okay - Stores nearby It was cold in the shower. Also the dry and wet separation is not so good
- Riley (9/5): Superb -
- Erica (10/5): My daughter & I enjoyed our visit in this unusual setting. - I loved the windows with views of the canal, the bed was super comfortable and felt luxurious, and the bathroom was clean and efficient.
The location was really wonderful with an open air market nearby and plenty of diverse restaurants.
I also liked learning about the history of the bridge houses and bridge managers.
I sat at the small desk & finished my painting. Honestly, I think I'm better suited to a hotel situation with other people - this felt a little isolated to me, and therefore, lonely. I think I prefer to connect with other travelers and hotel staff.
However, for privacy, this was perfect!
- Susan (9/5): A unique stay with unique canal views & ambiance, that is also close to public transport & shops. - Breakfast not applicable For this address: everything was good!
- Andrew (10/5): The bridge house was incredibly unique. It was relatively central, clean, and had a great bed. This -
- Derek (9/5): Superb - Privacy no need to see anybody key was a code on an app There was a bit of noise when the bridge raised didn't dissdurb too much was quite interesting.
- Paul (8/5): A good room with an unbeatable location! - Location was great, literally on the bridge with a river-and-windmill view from the window, 2 minute walk to a good supermarket, and within walking distance of the attractions. Despite being on the bridge it was surprisingly quiet - more traffic noise than a ‘normal’ room, though still very minor, and a lot less noise from the corridor because there isn’t one! The room was big enough for us, and had all the facilities we needed. It is a little smaller than a typical hotel room, but we expected that and were fine with it.
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (9/5): Cosy and cute - The house itself was cute. Grocery store was near. Place was a bit moist and cold at first, but we stayed for three nights and had the heater on all the time.
- Aiswarya (10/5): Home Sweet Home - The room decor made it feel like I’m at home, not in a hotel
It’s close to center, but away from the crowd
Bus stop is just minutes away nothing
- Cassie (9/5): A unique place with an awesome view - The bed was so incredibly comfortable and the hot beverage station was a lovely touch The room was very loud and the bedding was a bit damp
- Shahnaz (9/5): Superb - Location excellent. breakfast not included, but supermarket across the road. bars and coffee shops nearby. being not so young, bed was a little difficult to get in/out of as one side was against wall.
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Gorcin (9/5): A cozy taste of Dutch creativity - Only the Dutch could come up with such a brilliant concept of re-adapting bridge houses in cozy small apartments. Beltbrug is really close to the center, has a supermarket right across the street, and other shops nearby. Nice view of the canal and windmill too. The traffic is not bothersome, and is not a crowded area. The apartment is minimalistic but elegant with a tiny bathroom, but for travelers like me this kind of place is a dream. Would probably love to try another 'brug' experience! It was my first experience of self checking-in with an app. The check in process is explained fairly well on the Sweets hotel website, it would be great to have the same info on the Booking page where i found the place.

If it s your first experience too, please keep in mind that in order to first enter your place you need a smartphone with internet and bluetooth connection with the flexipass app. Make sure to get the sms with a code by the time of your check in. When i arrived at the place, i had to call an emergency number to get the code, but as soon as I got a person on the phone, i got my code in a matter of seconds. And the personal message card i got in the room more than made up for the couple of minutes i had to wait outside.
- Carol (9/5): Lovely comfy bed in a quirky room - Lovely quirky little place. The bus stop is outside the door, easy to get to from central station. Number 18 bus. Lovely views from the room. Once we figured out the heating it was lovely and warm. Supermarket directly across the road too The bathroom is a very small shower room. It does state that so we were expecting it. Only problem is the floor stayed wet for absolutely hours because it was cold
- 94 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Young-in (10/5): Exceptional - The view and the location. A beautiful cozy room with everything you need.
Absolutely loved staying here. Nothing.
- Michaela (9/5): Superb - Cozy, private and special. Simply wonderful.
