Depending on the room it can be noisy. - The location is top and especially the possibility to stay in the lounge in 5th floor is very appriciated by me. Coffee/Tee and also Milk and water in the fridge is also nice to have. This time I had a room with the view to the street - it was noisy. However, it was ok for one night. The air condition is too weak, that's why I had to open the window and it was difficult to ignore the noise from the cars.

• Christina (8/5): Modernes Hotel mit top Lage für Städtereisen - Das Hotel punktet mit einer super Lage und idealer Verkehrsanbindung, da Metro und Bus direkt vor der Tür liegen. Das Viertel ist angenehm lebendig. Die Unterkunft selbst ist modern und sehr sauber. Besonders das Frühstück hat uns überzeugt – es war gut und bot viele gesunde Optionen. Auch das Personal war freundlich. Wir hatten extra ein Zimmer in den oberen Etagen gebucht, um den City-View zu geniessen. Leider bekamen wir ein Zimmer im 2. Stock. Als Entschädigung gab es zwar ein Upgrade auf ein grösseres Zimmer, aber der fehlende Ausblick war für uns trotzdem sehr schade.

As an elderly solo traveller and wanting TV in backgound for company, found lack of working TV left me feeling quite lonely. There isn't an accessible, well lit mirror to use for hair/makeup in 1 bed apartment Limited counter space around small sink meant had to maneuver around coffee machine to create space for kettle to make a cup of tea
• Corina (10/5): Überraschend großartiges Hotel, das man sich nicht entgehen lassen sollte. Wir kommen wieder! - Dieses Hotel im Zentrum Londons ist ein Geheimtipp. Die Zimmerausstattung lässt keine Wünsche übrig, es ist alles blitzsauber und (wie) neu und jeder noch so kleine Wunsch kann erfüllt werden. Ein besonderes Plus ist die Getränke Lounge im 5. Stock, in der man sich tagsüber jederzeit Kaffee, Tee oder frischen Saft/ Wasser holen und in gemütlichen Sesseln genießen kann mit tollem Ausblick. Der absolute Hammer ist das Frühstück. Über frisches Brot, Croissants, Kuchen, Lachs, bestem Käse, Jogurt/ Müsli, frischem Obstsalat, einer kleiner Auswahl warmer Speisen und Eier zum Selbstkochen bleiben keine Wünsche übrig. Das Personal ist sehr nett, hilfsbereit, die Lage unglaublich nah zur Aldgate East Station und fußläufig zu den besten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Außerdem wird kostenlos Yoga angeboten und es gibt eine GYM. Wenn London, dann bitte ins The Gate London City! Auf den Yoga Kurs wäre ich gern hingewiesen worden. Es hängt ein großer Zettel im Eingangsbereich mit allen Erläuterungen, aber ich habe diesen trotzdem erst am Abreisetag registriert. Die Handhabung der Türen zum Treppenhaus könnte man kurz erläutern bei der Anreise, aber das könnte auch an mir gelegen haben, dass ich nicht zurecht kam. ;)

Went to get complimentary tea but selection was poor and there were only a couple of teabags in room 5 nights. Laundry room was sad. Only 1 washer and dryer. Ended up taking wet clothes back to the room to dry as it was very warm/dry.

• Heinke (8/5): Frühstück herrlich, Zimmer könnte mal überholt werden - Frühstücksbuffet und der Frühstrücksraum plus Terrasse sind sehr gut. Auch zum längeren Verweilen herrlich ! Zimmer war kleiner als beim letzten Aufenthalt (Angeblich gleiche Kategorie gebucht.) Teppich dreckig und fleckig. Muffiger Geruch im Zimmer (nur mit geöffneten Fenster in Ordnung). Schreibtisch zerkratzt.

• Dick (10/5): Voor herhaling vatbaar! - Goede locatie op loopafstand van Liverpool Station. Metrostation Aldgate East is om de hoek, dus heel Londen goed bereikbaar. In de buurt is voldoende eetgelegenheid op loopafstand. De accommodatie zelf is prima. Prettige ambiance, schone en comfortabele kamers, goed uitgerust met o.a. keuken en vriendelijk personeel. Vanuit onze kamer op de 15e etage een schitterend uitzicht over de stad. Ontbijt ‘s ochtends is heerlijk. ‘S avonds een drankje in de bar of in de gezellige pub aan de overkant van de straat. Als we weer een paar dagen Londen doen, komen we hier zeker terug. Eigenlijk is alles zoals het hoort. Om toch zeuren te hebben: bedlampjes deden het niet en in de badkamer is het wat krapjes manoeuvreren. Mag allemaal geen naam hebben.

• EMA (7/5): Fijn hotel met heerlijk ontbijt - Het ontbijt was uitstekend. De kamer was lekker ruim. De wifi werkte prima. De hele dag gratis koffie, thee en fruitdrank in de ontbijtzaal. Een bemande receptie met vriendelijk personeel. Lekker dicht bij de metro. Beperkte schoonmaak. Het serviesgoed in de keuken was erg beperkt. Van alles 2, 2 glazen, 2 bekers, 2 messen, 2 lepels etc.. Geen snijplank maar gelukkig wel een broodmes.

L'établissement est proche d'un arrêt de métro qui facilite le planning de nos journées. le checkin avec une machine. Je préfère parler à un humain.
• Discover818504 (10/5): Perfect location - Had no idea what to expect. The gate exceeded my expectations. It was in a great location. Easy to get to underground. Good restaurants in the area. Room was clean. Kitchen was basic but had everything we needed. 5th floor lounge had beverages and breakfast. Beautiful views. Would definitely come back to the gate. Shout out to Mohammad for great latte!

• Neil (8/5): Very convenient and excellent. - Location was great. Quality of my room was great too. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast seemed more basic than I expected, so that could have been better. There's nothing else that was particularly disappointing, everything was very good.

• Sarah (8/5): Stylish and (comparatively) affordable stay close to the City - Great place to stay close to the City. Modern, stylish interiors, friendly welcome, helpful staff. The room was a good size and well laid out, as was the bathroom. Good amenities (soap, lotion, shampoo, kettle, tea, etc.) and a small kitchenette for simple meals (microwave, crockery and cutlery). The roof terrace looked comfy and the breakfast room/ lounge was very stylish, light and airy. A great place to have breakfast, which offered a great selection of food for only £10 (if booked at check-in). While the overall cleanliness was good, the shower had limescale blotches which made me wonder how thoroughly it's cleaned in between guests. I personally still felt comfortable enough, but I know that's a big deal for some travellers.
• Kate (10/5): - Smart upscale apartment in a handy location. Loved the lounge area and bar/reception. Great staff! Some of the decoration in the rooms needed a little attention but shared areas were smart.
• Lydia (9/5): - Great location, good volume of the space and rooms, great terrasse and view on the 5th floor We had some issues with the running water in the bathroom (shower) and no real solution was provided, although the AI bot was really reactive in understanding and raising a ticket to the maintenance team.

• Relax59252197898 (10/5): Exceptional Stay with amazing Staff and a Fantastic lounger& terrace - I had a wonderful stay at The Gate London City. The staff, Gosia and Saikot, were truly amazing and made my experience even more special. One of the highlights is the 5th-floor lounge and terrace, which offers complimentary coffee, tea, and juices with 24-hour access—such a great touch. The terrace is especially awesome in the summer and a perfect place to relax. I really hope to visit again in the future. Thank you, Saikot, for your excellent service!
• shifav2026 (10/5): Nice staff and Good location! - The location was great! It was 2 mins away from Aldgate East station. The staff were really helpful especially Saikot and Crosia. They helped me very well with the check in process, setting up the sofa in the apartment etc.
