Guest Reviews
- STEVE G (8/5): - Great location and a wonderful experience overall.
Our host was extremely helpful and kind, always attentive throughout our stay. She welcomed us with a bottle of locally made wine, which was such a lovely gesture.
We especially loved the location, which allows you to truly reconnect with nature and experience an authentic immersion with the local people and atmosphere. A peaceful and memorable stay. Unfortunately, the description of our room did not mention at any point that it was not directly connected to the kitchen, unlike what could be understood from the photos provided at the time of booking.
Perhaps it would be better to have a clearer and more detailed description for each room category, without mixing all the photos together, as it can create some confusion for guests. We had the Deluxe Room overlooking the backyard without kitchen, and not the one with the pergola view and sun loungers as shown in some of the pictures.
- Paul (10/5): Excellent stay and location - Very gracious. Asked about a local winery and was given a bottle delicious red wine. House was beautiful! We walked for 40 minutes out the road past the winery and back into our place. We made reservations at a local winery about a 15 minute walk away. It was perfect and wonderful and enjoyed the walk back to our room. An easy drive to Greve in Chianti
- Smookesies (10/5): Escape from life and do a little living. - This is a beautiful apartment in a beautiful part of the world. Daniela was very welcoming and made me feel at home.
Everything I needed was available. Some people may say basic but, if you want all conveniences, you don't belong in Tuscany.
Such was the peace and beauty of the surroundings that it was 5 hours before I realised there was no TV. Bliss.
- Mark and Sonya Sokach (10/5): - We fell in love with this beautiful farm property right in the heart of Chianti! Daniella our host greeted us with a bottle of wine from her vineyard upon our arrival. She helped us get settled in and made sure we knew she was available if we needed anything. The little farm cottage exceeded our expectations by far! Cozy, beautifully decorated with the Italian charm we were looking for. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for meals in. If you're looking for a quiet farm stay in Chianti, we would highly recommend Daniella and her beautiful farm.
- Gian Paolo (9/5): -
- Hanna (10/5): - Beautiful accommodation, from which you can go on beautiful walks and even walk to some wineries. The host was very considerate and we had a wonderful stay in this picturesque converted barn.

- Carys (10/5): Beautiful corner of Tuscan peace - Beautiful place, very rural and peaceful, comfortable bed and lovely being immersed in the Tuscan countryside. The location is very rural so you must hire a car to get around
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - This is a dream place for those who want to relax in peace in a beautiful Tuscan countryside. The owner is incredibly helpful and kind, the cottage and the outside area was great for us and our dog. Well equipped kitchen, so we could cook with incredible local produce. Recommend!
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mel (9/5): Wonderful. Visit earlier, stay longer. - Podere la Cava is a lovely farm stay in the Mercatale Val Di Pesa region. Our cottage was perfect for us, nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by small farms, vineyards, historic sites and wonderful hill towns. Our stay here was a well needed break from our prior 3 city agenda. A soft rain, getting lost in an amazing valley, a wet dog and nice host to great us made for a perfect stay. I could say better WIFI, but I since I was escaping US election babble this was perfect. No TV was perfect too. We didn't turn on a TV during our 3 week entire trip. Whoop.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - The location is beautiful and the accommodation the perfect size. Daniela is a kind and incredibly helpful host and provided the best breakfast for a €10 supplement each day. I was in the area for a wedding nearby and had a wonderful experience. Without a car it is difficult to access nearby towns and villages and there are no amenities nearby. This isn't a bad thing, just something to be aware of when booking
- Zoltán (10/5): The house itself and the view were more than fantastic. Two bedrooms with two bathrooms. - Friendly host Daniela was very nice. Welcome local wine was excelent. The house was equipped well. The house itself and the view were more than fantastic. Daniela helped to find free parking and go to Florence. Two bedrooms with two bathrooms really served our comfort. Traditional house with its furtniture are really a great and lovely value.
- Alina (7/5): Good - Nice area, nice room It was a bit cold in the room and could not get the AC to work.
- Panagiotis (9/5): Superb - Daniela was very accommodating and also let me charge my electric car for a fee. The only downside was that there was no paved road for the last 500 meters that made it a little hard to access, especially for the first time.
- Truls (10/5): Relaxing! - Cozy, romantic place in great surroundings You should have a car to live here
- Arch (2/5): - We were provided a substitute property that i agreed to believing it would be comparable to what we booked. Very disappointed. Property did not have drinkable water and was not clean, appeared unused in recent time. Unmaintained. We left immediately. I was charged for full week. When i tried to connect to property owners thru Expedia no response to several texts. Very sad and disappointed. Put our lovely week in Tuscany in stress at 1600hr. Had to find a new place.
- Wendy (10/5): An Incredible Tuscan Retreat - This little cottage was incredible, more than we had hoped for. Daniella was lovely. The view absolutely gorgeous! We availed of breakfast each morning which was definitely the icing on the cake.
- Teodor (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in a quiet, tiny village consisting of only a few houses located in the vicinity of an old church and accessible via a dirt road.
The former farm structure where we stayed was beautifully renovated some time ago. This structure (the little house in the picture), situated nearly opposite the landlady's house, is split into two parts: a one-bedroomed apartment with access to a small patio, and another deluxe bedroom ( roughly 25-30 square meters, bathroom included), with a parking space right in front of the entrance and only possible access to a small bench and 2 deckchairs in a tiny garden at the side of the landlady's house. We stayed in the deluxe bedroom.
The two living spaces inside this same structure are separated by a brick wall and a wooden door.
The landlady, Daniela, and her son, Andrea, are very kind hosts, helping us with necessary information and suggestions.
- Teodor (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in a quiet, tiny village consisting of just several houses in the vicinity of an old church and accessible via a dirt road.
The former farm structure where we slept was beautifully renovated some time ago. It's made of bricks and stone and the roof has a smart insulation consisting of successive layers of bricks and then one layer of ceramic tiles. Somehow, even in hot summers, it's comfortable inside despite having no air-conditioning.

We stayed in the deluxe bedroom, with an extremely comfortable, large bed, a small table and two chairs, an armchair, a mini-fridge, and lots of sockets, switches and light bulbs.
The landlady and her son are very kind hosts, helping us with necessary information and suggestions.
All in all, this is a genuine Tuscan countryside experience.
