- Norton (8/5): Fantastic - Cute and cozy The noisy tram line literally out side you’re front door
- Lake (10/5): -
- Lanny (8/5): Top locatie voor 1 nacht - Locatie Was allemaal prima geregeld
- Robert (2/5): - The bed was comfortable that is it So so noisy you lay in bed people walk six foot behind you all hours of the day trams run 17 hours of the day traffic 24 hours of the day inside of the place everything old cups plates everything curtains may have been washed this year but probably not graffiti sprayed on windows outside bird mess on other windows never again
- Rito (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): 10/10 - Such a gorgeous location! We loved the area and everywhere was so accessible by foot. The accomodation was very clean and comfortable and the team at SWEETS were very responsive. Thank you so much again!

- rob (9/5): -
- Mitch (10/5): We enjoyed this cozy spot right next to the canal. Would definitely recommend this place in Amsterdam - Location - very easy to get to by train/tram from the airport.
-loved being right on the canal
-easy to get to central station
-extremely comfy bed
-great AC/heat Not being able to check in till 4pm
- de Vries (10/5): -
- Jamini (9/5): Very quirky little accommodation. Great location if you are able for a 20 min walk into the center. - Quirky. Different. Couldn't offer us an an early check-in in of any sort, without cost, even though we had requested it. Didn't get the key code until bang on 4pm, even though we had seen the cleaning team in and out prior to that
- Daniel (10/5): -
- kruseman (7/5): -
- Keona (4/5): - The tram line was extremely noisy. There could be some sort of sound proofing but the windows aren’t even double glazed, the whole place shakes when the trams are passing. The bed was soft and comfortable.
- Elina (10/5): -
- Alexander (6/5): I wanted to love it, left feeling disappointed. - Let me start by saying that the staff are very kind. I spoke to them throughout my stay and they were always helpful and nice. The bridge house has a very beautiful view. It is so located in a very nice location if you can ignore the constant stream of people crossing the bridge. I wanted to love the bridge house. The canal view provided some much-needed entertainment and fun when watching all the boats pass by. Our favorite part of the house was at night, seeing the canal and houses through the windows from the bed. On the hottest day, Amsterdam has had, 32°, our air conditioning stopped working. So the bridge became an oven. The room was so hot that we considered leaving and going to a new hotel. Given the price, we stayed. The hotel did send someone to fix it 1.5 days later. They also provided fans.
My second issue is that the bridge house is just.... unclean. The windows are covered in bird feces and graffiti. The inside has scuff marks all over the walls and the windows were very dusty and crumby. The carpets are filthy and need to be replaced totally. We actually bought some cleaning wipes and gave the windows and counters a little clean ourselves. I don't want to be totally negative but we would not return.
- Benjamin (5/5): Unique you literally are in the middle on a bridge in like a workers office they redid but so loud and tiny - Very loud and tiny
- Anneka (9/5): A unique canal-side stay - Such a unique place to stay! Going to bed seeing the calm water and waking up to such a gorgeous view right in the water made everything about the stay worth it. The bed was extremely comfy, the provided slippers were a great add, and the multitude of towels was ideal. The only downside is the noise from the streetcars passing by, but the provided earplugs blocked out much of the noise, and between 12:30am and 6am it is nice and quiet.
- Louisa (8/5): Lovely quirky place to stay - nothing wrong with the accommodation but would rather be closer to town next time - The quirkiness , very comfortable , very novel Felt slightly vulnerable due to the obscurity of the bridge house
- Nathan (9/5): Superb -
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shantella (10/5): Great stay, really cosy, good location - Comfortable and good location Spray paint outside
- Verified traveler (8/5): Prettig verblijf. - We hebben het naar de zin gehad.
Fijn bed. Schoon.
Het enige wat we kunnen bedenken is het lawaai, wanneer de trams over de brug gaan. Dit was gelukkig niet 's nachts.
Verder heel prima.
- Elisabet (2/5): - When I arrived the heating wasn't on and probably hadn't been for a while. I put it on and cranked it up, but the room didn't get warm enough through the whole night and the sheets were damp and horrible. I had to lie with all my clothes on. It still wasn't warm enough the next day. I had booked for three nights, but left after one. This was in November, it's probably nicer in the summer.
- H (10/5): Exactly what we needed. - Small but perfectly formed. We had just enough space for two. Personally the noise didn't bother us, as we were out for most of the time. We loved watching the boats come past and the bridge being raised too. I contacted the hosts for an iron and it was in our room before we even got back. It's about 20 minutes walk to the main part of town, but there's lovely restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Given the age of the building, it is a little damp and there is some mould on the curtains. The place overall is clean though. It wasn't enough to put us off returning.
- Henrietta (9/5): Unique stay, great experience - Unique quirky property, nicely converted and comfortable. Love the history of it. It was incredibly noisy but we had expected that. Fun watching the bridge go up but slightly bizarre at 5am!! A really good way to experience the city, would like to try some of the others. Outside area was not clean, even windows had graffiti. Could do with a comfortable chair!
- Andrew (7/5): A fun place to stay for a few nights, thoughtfully equipped (including a safe). - A really quirky property that was fun to stay in. Close to two bus routes (that go to Central Station) and one tram route (that doesn't). We were initially worried about getting the entry code, but all worked perfectly. The tram route goes over the bridge, making a loud noise every fifteen minutes. This did not concern us during the day but was disturbing at night. The tram stops around 10pm and starts again around 6am. We will stay in a bridge house again, but will choose one without a tram-line running over the bridge.
- Joao (8/5): Great price for a cozy and quirky stay - The apartment itself was cozy, it had great view to the canals and it was pretty spacious for the price. We found some hair on the bed, which led us to think that the bed clothes weren't changed. The house also has a bunch of graffiti on the outside which gives it this bad aspect.
- Brook (9/5): Superb - Very easy to check in with the flexipass app, excellent communication from sweets with the access code allowed me to check in earlier than expected. The room was very comfortable and clean. The trams are a little noisy but I was aware of this before hand and it wasn't a problem
- Rachel (5/5): Run down but okay - Funky The property was a lot smaller than the photos look and just a bit run down. Shower also floods the kitchen area as there's not a high lip on on
- Karen (7/5): Very central location - Great location. Very quirky property. Really easy to access. The trams pass outside and it is noisy from 6:30 am.
- Spiteri (9/5): Superb -
- Charlie (9/5): Superb - A beautiful little setting overlooking the water, it truly is quite a unique way to stay in Amsterdam and one that I'd recommend to my friends easily. A very small space, but they've designed it perfectly. Every amenity that you'd need and the layout makes it feel larger than it is. Was a joy to look out the windows in the morning and watch the boats go by with a hot drink. Several reviews mentioned this, and I get it now - it's noisy. Not in a way that would ruin your trip, honestly, it all becomes background noise, and you zone it out. If you're out during the day, which you would be, then it's really not a problem. The tram passes right by you, the bridge, of course, is operational and so lifts at times to allow boats to pass by. All of this is quite a noise, and the vibrations can be quite noticeable in your little bridge house.
- Ekaterina (9/5): Superb -
- Gul (8/5): Very good -
- Hannah (10/5): The perfect tranquil yet urban weekend stay! - Accessed the room with an app, then used a card from inside the room for access the rest of the journey. And they’d decorated the room for my birthday! Worth noting it’s close to the tram line, so could be tough for light sleepers.
- Daniel (10/5): Unique experience living in a piece of history - As people interested in engineering and the infrastructure of Amsterdam's canals, it was a unique and quirky experience to stay in an historic building like this. Aside from that, the location is excellent, next to the Jordaan district and a short walk to the #5 tram and the #3 tram literally running past the front door! The bed was comfortable, the shower was ok and the wifi worked just fine. The out the back of the building towards the canal is fantastic and of course there's the up-close spectacle of the bridge getting raised and lowered. The app to access the door was a little clunky, but worked ok for me (be sure to enable Bluetooth and probably NFC). This building is meant to be an office for the bridge master, it was never meant to be lived in. As such, the layout is a little compromised such that one side of the bed is jammed against the wall, which is a little inconvenient and might be problematic for some people. As we went in January, it was pretty cold and we had to supplement the existing heating with the air conditioner - no big problem, but due to the layout, the toilet remained considerably colder than the rest of the place which is a bit of a shock to the system in the middle of the night! Also the floor was very cold which they could easily fix with a few more rugs around the place. The operation of the bridge was pretty quiet, but the trams going over it generated quite a lot of noise and vibration in the building. We slept through it no problems, but some might have issues?
- Dominique (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (1/5): Beware of this accommodation. We couldn’t even sleep here. Disappointed to say the least. - This property was the worst accommodation I have ever booked. The location is directly on-top of a very active tram line - every 5 minutes the entire place was shake and was extremely loud. Upon arrival, we couldn’t believe the property was also covered in graffiti. The accommodation was also very vulnerable and did not feel safe. We tried to embrace the ‘quirkiness’ of the place, but it was unbearable. We had to leave and could not stay even one night. I have attached a photo from google that shows just some of the graffiti.
- Bree (9/5): Unique accomodation with a beautiful view - Cute, cosy, clean with a beautiful outlook Noise from the tram, however we were pre warned and provided earplugs so it wasn’t really an issue
- Hayley (9/5): Lovely view and good location! - We went for my birthday and everything was perfect and the view from the window is amazing! The only downfall for us was it was raining when we arrived about midday and we’re unable to check in or leave our bags as the property wasn’t ready yet
- Bradley (8/5): wonderful and unique experience - the location is quite unique - if you want something differnt this is it
quite fun to come out and find the bridge open and watch the boat passing from the bedroom window As people traveling without a car we would have more of the bacis like sugar and toilet paper as we have to go out and buy and they were only available in large quantities in the surrounding shops.
- Rebekka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Compact, quirky space with romantic views - This is an unusual property on the edge of the Jordaan district and close to Westerpark. Nearby there are coffee shops, bars, convenience stores and takeaways. The facilities are compact but clean and efficient. The draw for us, aside from the novelty factor was the views overlooking the water; they are stunning both in the day and at night.
There is a book telling you about the history of all the bridge houses that SWEETS now rent out. It should be noted that although it didn’t bother us too much, the bridge is active and can be raised throughout the day and night. Also a tram line passes by the property. However, we did enjoy watching house boats being towed or sail boats going through the bridge late at night. Ear plugs are provided.
Some people may be put off by the graffiti on the outside of the property- especially lone travellers. We experienced no issues during our stay.
- Sophie (7/5): Unique and fun stay if you can handle the noise - I loved the unique and smart layout of the place. Small but not cramped. Easy check in. Close to transport and cafes and supermarket. I knew from reading the listing description that it would be loud, as it’s right on a bridge, but it truly was VERY loud. Not just the bridge noise but the trans too. If I hadn’t had my noise canceling headphones, I would have struggled to stay asleep, and I’m a heavy sleeper! I think it should cost less to reflect the risk you take with the noise.
Also, as a solo woman traveller, I didn’t feel 100% safe the whole time, as you are very much on the path of passers by. People knocked on the door twice in the middle of the night.
- Patrycja (10/5): Excellent location, definitely a unique stay! - Downloading the app and using a code to get into the property was super easy. The location couldn't have been better - amazing views over the canal out of every window. Windows open wide so you feel like you're outside. Extremely comfy bed, good shower, excellent WiFi. Bluetooth speaker was a very nice addition, as with no TV in the room it was nice to have some music going. Location is great, friendly locals and all the amenities you might need within a 10 min walk. Watching the bridge go up and down from inside the property was cool Quite noisy gate leading to the bench/balcony attached to the house. On hot days there are workers 'watering' the bridge to cool it down right outside and they go in and out of the gate to access the water pipe so you can't sleep in beyond 7:30am. There is also no full length mirror, which would be a nice addition.
- Shane (8/5): Would recommend to family and friends. - The location was awesome. We loved being right on the canal, there was a tram almost outside the door, and the central station was easily accessible by bus. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Be warned, this is a working bridge, and it gets opened throughout the day and night! We had a heart attack on our first night when it opened at 1.30am. It was all part of the experience! Whilst the room was clean on the inside, the outside was really dirty. It was concerning when we first saw the property. There is a fair bit of graffiti on the outside, including on the bedroom window. I was worried that the property was unsafe. As it is a standalone building, with no onsite staff, it was a little off-putting.
- Sven (7/5): special location for a special city - very special location small house on a bridge, but as a tram is also passing the bridge its quite noisy.
- Pollard (9/5): Superb - it was great beause it was so unusual! Brilliant adaptation of a small space. Wonderful view
- Anonymous (10/5): we loved it! would definitely come back - it was very clean and comfortable! and cute last night it sounded like a boat was running into the bridge?
- Deborah (7/5): Unique quirky little place with a great view. - Great view, great location. Unique. Comfortable bed. Extremely noisy with trams passing through on a regular basis until 12:30am and bridge opening throughout the night. However, after first night got used to the noises and slept with noise cancelling EarPods.
- Sonya (10/5): gorgeous and individual place to stay - loved loved the location. and view people who struggle with noise will be woken up
- Hedvig (8/5): unik experience - very nice location, good bed and shower a lot of noise from the bridge going up and down at all times of the night/day
- Māris (9/5): Superb - Fantastic spot, great view, a very cool experience staying in a small house like that. We both were very happy both with the house and the view. Excellent location, not too loud. It looks so beautiful in a sunny morning ^__^ And we get to see the bridge being raised which is also cool. During winter it is quite cold, there is cold air coming from the wall right next to the bed. I had to place pillows and our winter jacket next to the wall to reduce the coldness. With that it was ok. And if it is at least +5 outside, it's alright. And thankfully I didn't get sick or anything. The tram passing by is quite loud so if you are staying only one night, it might be difficult to fall asleep. We got used to it in our subsequent nights. Both of these factors together rob the place of a 10, but it is so uniquely cool, it is still a 9.
- Stuart (8/5): Unique experience - The stay was pleasant and accommodation unique- more spacious than expected from the photos. And having basic kitchen facilities enabled us to have a take away from the recommended Thai shack across the bridge! We didn’t find the trams were a bother even with their close proximity and the noise level during the night was low- we had a good nights sleep. Unfortunately although check in time was from 4pm and having been specifically asked if we wanted to check in at 4 and told this was ok, we were informed at 3.45 when waiting for the entry code, the accommodation was not ready. This was inconvenient and it then wasn’t ready until an hour later. Communication was poor. As compensation we were offered a later check out time which we didn’t want or need. Its no wonder that if the company are offering everybody a late check out time, that the accommodation isn’t ready on time!
- Arsenad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamesaverynz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dominique (10/5): It was exceptional. - location, comfortable bed, view
- Anonymous (10/5): lovely stay - great location fantastic view
- Caitlin (7/5): Great location and quirky, comfy. BUT breakfast is not provided and they did not offer any discount - Amazing location and comfy place to stay. There was no breakfast even though it was advertised and this was not provided. No refund was offered even though we asked. The fridge was tiny.
